Dan Pallister is a survivalist and prepper. Much to the annoyance of the people around him, he has been surviving and prepping since childhood. He just didn’t know what for. When he wakes up one morning to find the world overrun with bloodthirsty zombies it all becomes clear, and despite the fall of civilisation, he can’t wait to get started. He just needs to stock up on supplies from the local supermarket first.
But is everything what it seems?

Warning SPOILERS First of all, it didn't say it on Goodreads, but it does on Amazon, that this is a short splatterpunk story. I did not get splatterpunk vibes from it at all. There's barely any gore, barely even any violence. No more violence than any other zombie story. So anyways, I kept waiting for this story to be a big joke. Like maybe the main character was going crazy, or maybe since he didn't watch much TV that maybe there was a zombie walk ( my town does a zombie walk over a year. Everyone dresses as zombies and walk the streets) on his street or something and he didn't know it and killed innocent people. But no. After reading about a guy's trip to the market in a zombie apocalypse, aliens come and shoot him with some crazy weapon. Then it just ended. Like abruptly, with no explanation. The afterwards short story about hunger was hilarious. I liked that story so much that I added a star to my original rating. Anyways, i still don't understand how it's splatterpunk. And the story just didn't end well. The author shows great potential, so maybe I should try another book of his... I dunno
This is a creepy short story about a crazy prepper. He has been prepping all his life for disaster to hit. Then one day he woke up to find the world in zombies. Or did he?
Dan Pallister woke up one morning to find the world had gone to hell over night. The zombie apocalypse has arrived without warning. He doesn't know what caused it, whether it's something in the air, something in the water, or even whether or not he is already infected. Dan knows one thing, survival. He's been preparing all his life for just such an occasion. Forgoing sports, friendships, childhood fun. He's always been preparing and he's ready for whatever happens. If only it hadn't happened right before his regular shopping day. Luckily there's a supermarket near by so Dan makes his move to stock up on supplies while he plots his next course of action. But wait.. there is something odd about these zombies. Why do some of them seem to be going about their usual human habits? Oh well, Dan doesn't have time to ponder all the gruesome details! This was a quick and creepy read.
Freakier still was the bonus story Til Death Do Us Part "He was going to have to eat Margaret soon. That much was obvious."
Ronald and Margaret have had 40 years of wedded bliss, but it's no longer safe to go outside and the cupboards are bare. What's a starving man to do?
I would recommend it to all fans of horror and dark fiction. 4 out of 5 freaky stars from me.
Human Waste by C.M. Saunders, a London-based writer, is a short story that splashes into splatterpunk. The darkest humour and twisted fate.
Dan Pallister is nuts. Bonkers. Completely insane. A gun fanatic. An extreme survivalist And hilarious.
So here's Dan, looking out his window, and there appears to be a zombie apocalypse. Or there isn't. Dan knows his shit. Or he doesn't. He might be the most strong-willed unreliable narrator with a talent for sick nicknames, or he might be the one sane human left in the world. Neither thought is comforting.
When the alien invasion starts (wait for it), I stared to really root for Dan. He may be completely off his rocker, but I wanted him to win.
And in his own way, he did.
This Kindle has a bonus short story as well as an excerpt from another story, No Man's Land: Horror in the Trenches, so it's more like reading three stories in one.
Eh it was ok, it got predictable in the 2nd chapter to me atleast. It was decent for a short read but i wouldnt read it again or suggest this read for anyone. Also it didnt go with the splatterpunk theme i was looking for.
Thanks for the great read. I loved the stories in the book. Will read again and again. Will be reading more and more of your stories Thank you again. Good work.
