For Janie, having her high school crush leave her could have been the best thing possible, it's only now that he's back from college that all hell breaks loose.
EXCERPT: Today is Friday, which means that a Student Council weekly meeting is on schedule by the end of the last period. Yes my friends, I am the student body President, though not by choice, some dumbass signed me up for the position without me knowing and by the time I tried to stop it, posters of me carrying a pepper spray were everywhere and pins with a slogan that states "Need a pepper spray? Vote for Janie!" were already handed out and worn by some students. I didn't have a choice but to go on with it when Mrs. Lankey, who was in-charge of student activities, denied my request to drop out of the raise. How I won is beyond me but I'm stuck with this until the school year ends and that's only 5 months away.
Truth be told, it's not bad. I quite like it. Organizing activities and having something to do while the other students were either swapping saliva with their boyfriends or busy trying to make other people miserable, makes me feel that I'm doing something worth while. I'm not bitter. I swear. I'm not. Alright, maybe just a little.
Today's meeting agenda: PROM NIGHT
Great. I'm gonna need that pepper spray again. After the cretin asked me to the prom three years ago, it has become a tradition of all the captains of the basketball team on each year to ask me to the prom. I knew they were trying to follow Mike's footsteps because after he asked me to be his prom date in the detention room which caused me walking out, caused his lip to start bleeding again when I hit him with my bag with a metal key chain in front, lead to a shouting match between me and the cretin in the cafeteria and ended with me telling him in tears to stay away from me and my friends. He never bothered me after that day. Surprisingly, neither did any of his friends at least when he's around.
I entered the student body office and saw that everyone was already there, clearly showing their enthusiasm about today's agenda. I took a seat and said, "Okay any ideas for the prom night theme?" they stared talking all at once. Some things never change...
