Three hearts, two birthdays, and one wedding day that no one in Rivers End will ever forget.
Social worker LUCIE KELLERMAN is five days away from the wedding of her dreams. Well, the wedding of her mother’s dreams. Lucie’s just happy that she’s finally doing something her parents approve of, and she’s thrilled that her relationship with her mother has never been better. There’s only one problem: ever since she met bartender Daniel Martinez, she’s been wondering if the life—and the man—she’s about to commit to are the ones she really wants.
In the two decades since his father died, DANIEL MARTINEZ has done the right thing by looking out for his siblings. With such a big, involved family, alone time is a thing of myth, and he’s used to putting himself last. But that’s all about to change. For the first time in his life, he’s going on an adventure all by himself. Eight weeks in Mexico volunteering with a children’s literacy organization. At least that’s the plan, until fate gives him a birthday gift in the form of Lucie Kellerman. Now he has a choice to make. Will he give in to temptation and tell Lucie how he really feels, or stay silent and watch the woman of his dreams walk down the aisle and into the arms of the wrong man?

Hey neighbour! I’m a lifelong fan of stories where everyone gets their happily-ever-after and have been a voracious reader of everything romance since I was tall enough to reach my mom’s bookshelf. I write small town romance with plenty of heart, humour and a dash of heat. Sometimes with a dash of magic, mystery or suspense.
In Book 3 we have Lucie a social worker who is preparing for her upcoming marriage to rich boy Ashton. She is extremely nervous about packing up her life and quitting her job to move in with her fiance' after they marry.
Daniel is a bartender about to leave in a week to volunteer in Mexico for the summer. He is ready for a break from the everyday norm of taking care of his large family of 4 brothers, one sister and his mother.
One night he is out celebrating his birthday with his family when the beautiful blonde Lucie catches his eye. Surprising she is celebrating her birthday as well. They really hit it off.
On Valentine's night Daniel is working when Luce walks in. Lucie is stood up by her fiance'. yet again. He seems to be distant and she is left to plan every detail of the wedding. While she waits for her no-show fiance' she talks to Daniel, who is bartending that eve. He is so nice and sweet.
Daniel is put in an awful predicament when he sees something that is not right. Should he tell Lucie? He really doesn't want to get involved. Hell he is leaving in a day. But when the problem cuts real close to home he is put in a position that he can't ignore.
With this being the 3rd book in the series I expected to read more about the gang from Rivers End. I was disappointed that none of the original characters were in this book. To top it all off this story was shorter than the first two books. There is a lot of potential to make the story more in-depth, but was not put to use. Don't get me wrong the book was a wonderful read and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I wanted more.
The characters in this book are amazing and their story is a page turner. Maybe if the story continues it will focus on Daniel's family. But I would like to see more from Issac's family from books 1 and 2. I really did love those characters as well.
This book did flow nicely and was a cozy romantic read. It will give you goosebumps with the electricity between Daniel and Lucie. You will fall in love with their romantic tale. So grab a glass of wine and curl up by the fire, because this feel good romance will have you smiling.
Lucie Kellerman is ready to start the next stage of her life. She’s given up the job she loves as a social worker, but on the plus side, she’s marrying a man she cares for. A man she believes will make her happy. A man her mother approves of. But counting on someone else for happiness is always a fraught notion, and Lucie’s about to discover life is never simple.
Daniel Martinez is out celebrating his birthday when he sets eyes on a beautiful woman. Love at first sight? Hard to say, but he’s captured by Lucie. After a spending just a short bit of time with her, he knows he wants more. But he’s respectful that she’s marrying someone else. Daniel has always been the responsible one in his family – taking over when their father died – sheparding his four brothers and one sister into adulthood. He has planned a trip to Mexico to teach English – the first real opportunity to be alone. I don’t have a large family, thankfully, although Daniel’s love for his siblings is strong.
As the wedding approaches, Lucie feels more and more isolated. This is the wedding of her mother’s dreams and Lucie would be happy to do something simple, not some grand affair with two hundred guests. Again, something I could understand. I think I’d lose it if I had to be the center of attention for that many people.
Lucie and Daniel cross paths numerous times and it’s clear there’s something between them. The question is, of course, whether they’re going to act on that attraction. Lucie goes so far as saying to him, “I know I can trust you.” Powerful, to be sure. Don’t we all just want someone who makes us happy?
Brenda Scott Wlazlo narrated this story and I thought she did a good job. There were quite a few characters and she handled it well. She brought the story to life. This is also the first Martinez story and given how many siblings there are, I’m expecting more novellas to come.
Maybe: Rivers End Romance: The Martinez Family #1 is by CJ Hunt. This classic romance catches your attention at the start and doesn’t let go. Lucie is closing down her present life to become Mrs. Ashton Barclay. She will no longer have time for a job as she enters the charity boards and committees team. She just wished she was more delighted about that. She would definitely miss her job; but she thought being on charity boards would help fulfill that void. Tonight, however, she would go out with her friends for her birthday and forget everything. One last fling. What could happen? Daniel headed for the doors of Just One More. He was meeting his family here for his birthday celebration. Although he really didn’t want to be here, he was glad it was karaoke night and he didn’t have to join in. He had only a few more days and h e would be headed towards Mexico and a job helping children there. A drink or two and he would be on his way. Then he saw two young ladies head for the karaoke machine and his attention was glued to one of them. What would happen now?
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is a fun story by C.J. Hunt and is the third in a series but I read it as a standalone and it was no problem. I thought that Ashton was a coward by being "too busy" to be with his fiancée, even to letting her plan virtually all their wedding. Then, to make him even more unpopular with me, he gets caught by the handsome hunk, Daniel, who is a bartender and so much more suited to Lucie. I did like Lucie who is struggling with what she really wants to do rather than keeping her parents happy and doing what is expected of her. When she meets Daniel on their joint birthdays it was so obvious that there was a connection between them. Should Lucie go with the flow or do what her heart and head knows is the right thing? I did like the author's writing style and the way she built up Ashton throughout the book. Definitely recommended.

So this one really threw me for a loop. I was expecting to get answered questions and more in depth character background from the previous 2 book's main characters. Yet this one focuses on a new couple who are seemingly not tied to the previous people in any way. I sincerely hope we get back to the original and learn why things have gone on the way they have. I did enjoy this book and the characters themselves. I think it was fun and sexy. However it also has unanswered questions that I'm afraid won't be answered in the next or any time soon. I'd take that into account if you're one of those need answers now person.
These tiny little romances by CJ Hunt are quite adorable. I love the design (they look great!), I love that they fit in my hip pocket, and because they are teeny, they are a quick yet satisfying read. Concise and to the point, yet with enough time and detail for me to get to know the characters and want to get to know them better. With this one I wanted a little bit more detail in the "We need to talk," chat, but it's forgivable because let's face it, it's the next part you want to get on with! CJ Hunt gives a little soupçon of the next book, which promises to be equally delicious, so if you're a romance fan, you want to start collecting all of the River's End books! (I think a collection of these would look lovely on a book shelf)

I didn't want the book to end and wished it was a full length book when I was finished. These two characters just worked so well together and I was left wanting more. I highly recommend getting this one if you are looking for a quick, fun, sexy read. You won't be disappointed. I really enjoyed reading Lucy and Daniel's story.

Third book in this series and out of all of them I do not know which one was my favorite . I know I am now going to be putting these on my to be reread shelf so I can read at a later time. Again I found myself laughing at some of the things in the story . This is a well written, quick read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I read this book first and I will go back and read the others to get all the nitty gritty of River's End and it's characters. Lucie and Daniel meet and you get drawn into their story immediately. I could not put it down!!
When Lucie Kellerman and Daniel Martinez meet the attraction is instantaneous, unfortunately for Daniel she is engaged to another man. She has to decide which man is the right choice. Ever meet a character you just want to shake and tell them to wake up and see what is right in front of them?? That is Lucid and Daniel. Ashton was a spoiled rich boy jerk. I am glad things worked out in the end...hope to see more from this couple in the future....
Well written. Quick read, but you get a nice comprehensive feel for the characters. Lucie is due to marry Ashton, her childhood crush and brothers best friend. She meets Daniel when they are both out celebrating their birthday and a lovely friendship develops.
Whatever will happen? More to come with the next book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Well written and great story line. It was well worth a read and a great end to the series. I think there is plenty of scope to write more stories based on more characters from River's End.

Another winner from Rivers End. I am loving this fictional town and the people who live there. Easy read. And very easy to want to make friends with these people - the characters are so real. Flawed and human. You can't help but root for them.
I can't wait to read more shoes from Rivers End. While each story is its own standalone story, each one pulls you farther into Rivers End's HEA's! ARC received from BookSprout for an honest voluntary review, but I also purchased it.
Faced by her own wedding she is starting to have second thoughts. Then she meets Daniel. There is no demands from him, simply support despite his own feelings Can she go through with the wedding? A well written story line
Great little read set on Vancouver Island Canada. Got the audio version and spent a very pleasant day listening as I commuted to and from work. Part of a series and I have already purchased the next one.
