Recently read this book - in Bali. I found it very useful and informative. An easy-to-follow guide on the built heritage of the island. There are remarkably few such books, and of those that exist most are very technical. I found this to be the most useful.
I'd rate it 3.5 to 4... something like that.

This is a beautifuly illustrated and highly comprehensive overview of Balinese architecture in context. It is excellently written but it is not a book to dip into as it is very dense in terms of its content. I have learnt a lot through reading it but it is certainly not a 'light read'.
