“WOLF.” A SINGLE COMMAND TO SET OFF THE MOST SINISTER TERROR PLOT IN HUMAN HISTORY…
Ex-U.S. black ops warrior Will Slater never anticipated anything less than carnage when he made the decision to venture into war-torn Yemen. He wasn't looking for peace, hitting the road in a deliberate effort to find trouble.
But he didn’t expect to have to call on his skill set so soon…
A young Yemeni boy is dead, maimed by northern highland tribesmen in the Hadhramaut Valley. The act was intended to send a message to the remote mountain town of Qasam, ordering them not to interfere with the business of the tribes. Slater sets off into the mountains in pursuit of vengeance. It was supposed to be a simple act of vigilante justice, but what he uncovers spells disaster for hundreds of thousands of innocent lives…
The boy was just the tip of the iceberg.
From the foreboding caves of the Yemeni highlands to the bustling streets of inner-city London, Slater must fight tooth-and-nail to prevent an unspeakable horror, the likes of which the world has never seen before.

Brilliant start to a series, though I'll be sceptical of keeping my hopes high as Jason King series started brilliantly too but it went downhill after the first book. Slater is more exciting character than King, so I'm hoping this series will hold its excitement. After the events of Jason King series last book, Slater is in Yemen, looking for trouble. He did find one when a local boy is killed by tribesmen who are keeping a dangerous secret, which is deadly bio weapon. Slater must find out the bio weapon and it's target before it's unleashed. The action is non stop, the narration immersive. Few characters but all had their roles to play. Will pickup next soon.
Ex-U.S. black ops warrior, Will Slater, is now venturing into war-torn Yemen. As he hikes through the hillsides, he finds a young Yemeni boy dead, maimed by northern highland tribesmen. It was a warning message to the remote mountain town of Qasam. The tribes do not want to be interfered with. But Will Slater is going to seek vengeance ... or you might say, vigilante justice. His actions just might cause the death of thousands of innocent lives. This is a spine-chilling, action-filled suspense novel. It's a hard-hitting thrill ride for readers.
I think I've found my author with Matt Rogers. Wolf was a quick and engaging read. As I read this book, I found myself thinking Will shouldn't do this or do that. It was like watching an suspense movie and telling the dumb star NOT to open the scary door. Will Slater is that dumb star. He stays in mess! A special forces superstar it was easy to believe his bad and dangerous choices. I was smart this time and started an actual series so I don't have to wait to read book 2.
Will is a great man. Even out of Black Force he is a man to recond with. He tries to put Hus past job behind him but can not see letting terrorist get by with their diabolical plans . SK in comes Will to save the day. King is still number one man but Will can stand alone . His fast action in times when he doesn't really have time to process a plan his instincts on auto pilot the right decisions are made
Will Slater was a one man army.A former Special Forces operative, he had the experience and skills to handle any situation. His !back of vulnerability made him a bit too good to be believed. Wandering through Yemen, Will got involved with a local man , an English speaking programmer, who ended up helping him defeat a crazed tribe leader who had the destruction of England in his mind.
Will Slater blazed through the Yemen like a human hurricane as he tries to thwart Yemeni tribal warlord Saiids plans to wreak havoc on the western world with a dirty bomb of devastating force with only local man Abu to help him. Fresh from his recent walk away from Black force he is a man in need of something or someone to fight for. An excellent read which flashes out the character of Will Carter from the series of Jason king / Will Slater books, very enjoyable.

This book did not disappoint me in the least! A fast paced plot, continuous action, and a nail biting ending..... The only thing that will beat this book is the next one in the series! (Unless someone in Hollywood is smart enough to grab this author and start making movies!)
Anyone who wants to read an explosive thriller, this is it! Will Slater is a force to be reckoned with. It's not often that you find a thriller were the hero is an Afican American male. And as one myself, I'm glad to have read such novel. Kudos to Matt Rogers for being different from the rest!
I was struggling to get into this book at first, the only reason was because I really love the Jason king series and files and I just couldn't gel with slater. I pushed past this and I'm so glad I did. Slater is a crazy selfless and unrelenting man. I didn't expect the story to go where it did and I was definitely on edge by the end. Another great read from Matt Rodgers.
Matt Rogers never disappoints. His books are non-stop action. His heros are almost transformer type of action figures. When 99% of all humans would just lay down and accept their fate, these heros, Will Slater & Jason King just keep going and going. They would make the energizer bunny look bad.
A good read if you go toward the Rambo succeeds no matter what the odds genre of tales. Even though cut to ribbons, wounded badly and in concussion, he defeats scores of trained killers with a pistol that never runs out of bullets. Otherwise, don't waste your time.
My thoughts: I give it ⊗. I should have known better! I've read two of this author's works and didn't like either one of them even though I powered through and finished them. This one...I DNF at 40%. Too gruesome and I just didn't like the MC!
Wow what a roller coaster ride. The novel started out like many assassin stories but then it changed. The change was major especially after Will meets a child in Yemen. That’s when you will not want to put it down. Happy reading. 😊👍. Dr. C
The dialogue was almost juvenile. A lot of repetition. Editing good but there was one error. Story plot good characters not totally believable. Parts seemed forced and actions taken accidental instead of planned. Needs improvement.
The hero was almost at Superman. He was undefeatable and once he made his mind up to solve a particular problem nothing would stop him and so he did but where is the where did you go did he die I don’t know.
Will Slater is a super hero with or without help. Fast on his feet with a lightning fast brain to adapt to any situation he gets into. Hard to put down and take a rest from the story. I'm will go on to the next one..
Written from second party perspective, it was entertaining but the rambo like quality of our hero is kind of a worn out style, a one man army...especially one with no language skills in a foreign land. It is fiction, but really...
Amateur effort here. The writing is mechanical. No attempt at character development. Implausible story. Toyota and similar vehicles have tailgates not trays. There are hundreds of novels in the genre that are better than this.
Fast paced, action packed thriller introducing ex-U.S. black ops specialist Will Slater. Trying to keep a low profile he finds himself in Yemen, and he stumbles across the kind of situation that he’s used to operating in and he knows exactly how to handle himself in the face of danger…
