The Syndicate 3: Carl Weber Presents

Rate this book
When Claudette McPhearson died, she left eight foster children to fend for themselves after they discovered the truth about her secret life. She was the leader of the Syndicate, a criminal enterprise that had a stronghold on the underworld. Much to her children’s chagrin, it was up to one of them to step up and take the lead. Javon, her oldest and most trusted son, took on that mantle. It was a role he had never wanted, but with threats to his family coming from every direction, he had no choice. One year later, Javon has taken the Syndicate to the next level. Javon seems untouchable, and the Syndicate can’t be stopped, but as it grows, it draws attention. This time, it’s from the Commission, the ruling body of the world’s most dangerous mafias. “You scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” comes into play as the Old Italian needs Javon’s help. The Commission has been threatened, and they call on the Syndicate for reinforcements. The Syndicate aims to help its allies, but the past comes knocking at the McPhearsons’ door. With everything coming full circle, Javon will find that not everyone can be trusted, and ghosts from the past always have a way of coming back to haunt you.

I enjoyed the first two books of this series, however for some reason this one was rather slow. It didn’t hold my attention as the two. It did answer the question that was set forth in the begging yet in around about way.

Well if you've read one urban novel you pretty much read them all. But the Syndicate 3 was rather entertaining.

I mean this could be a black soap opera. With all the drama and what not going on.

But I did like how this last novel gave the inside scoop on the demise of King.

I knew it was an inside job, I just didn't know from whom.

But when Javon is called to NYC, it seems like the present is repeating itself.

A lot of skeltons come out the closet while Javon and his crew are up there & it has one rethinking all that was taught and known.

But the good thing is, both King & Claudette left Javon a journal which was the blueprint to the past.

It helped Javon gain knowledge into what was going down and who possibly was calling the shots.

The commission is up to its dirty tricks, what happened to King won't happen to Javon.

The Syndicate has some swift thinkers and a crew that knows how to handle bizness. Not business BUT bizness, there is a difference.

I'm glad that Javon & Lucky got it all resolved. The Syndicate & The Commission are stronger than ever. Or at least that it what is implied.

Once some OG's got laid to rest. Syndicate style.
Now that's how you handle your bizness.

Well that's my review. I hope you enjoy it ad much as I did.

Until my next review. You already know how I get down.

Happy Reading!!!!!

FIRST THINGS FIRST, I MUST SAY I ENJOY PAULA JAI PARKER'S NARRATION. I BELEIVE SHE REALLY CAPTURED THE MOTHERLY/OLDER AUNTIE CHARACTER THAT SHE'D VOICED! THOUGH I ALSO LIKE HER ACTING WORK AS WELL, MAYBE SHE COULD HAVE A MORE FRUITFUL CAREER AS A NARRATOR.
THIS INSTALLMENT APPEARED TO CAPTURE CULTURAL DIFFERENCES FROM A TIME WHEN PERSONS FROM CERTAIN RACES MAY HAVE LOVED ONE ANOTHER SO MUCH BUT WERE NOT CULTURALLY ALLOWED TO EXPLORE SUCH A RELATIONSHIP AT LEAST NOT PUBLICLY FOR CONCERN FOR HOW THEIR RELATIONSHIP -MIXING THE CULTURES- WOULD BE PERCEIVED AMONGST THEIR OWN RACE
I MUST SAY I WASN'T EXPECTING LUCIANO/LUCCI'S REALTIONSHIP TOWARDS CLAUDETTE NOR DID I ANTICIPATE WHAT ROLE JEALOUSY WOULD PLAY IN WHAT OCCURRED WITH KINGSTON MACPHERSON'S PASSING.
AS THE AUDIBLE/BOOK CLOSED I WAS LEFT TO WONDER WAS LUCKY/OR WHATEVER THAT HALF BLACK- HALF-ITALTIAN GUY'S NAME WAS THE SON & NOT THE NEPHEW OF LUCIANO? WAS HE ALSO THE SONE OF CLAUDETTE OR HER SISTER?
THIS ONE HAD A LOT OF ACTION IN IT, BUT I MUST SAY IT WS A BIT CONFUSING AS WELL.

Excellent Read

The writing of this book is a good read, action, drama, double crossed and definitely hàteful, heartless, uncaring because of jealousy; Luci couldn't get over King got the Lady. Powerful read see some people have issue with rejection, this reads just show's how deep hate can settle in your heart. My gut feeling told me Luci was behind all the violence and treachery because he hated King. Claudette a woman of purpose smart, good looks, sexy and ambition s. I loved her she was loving, giving, sharing, designing a family of love like no other. I was waiting for Uncle Snap to bring Rowena to meet the family, lol. The whole family was well put together, Uncle Snap, Von, Cory, Shanelle, Inez, JoJo, Navy, Melissa, Monty, Nighthawk and Ms. Lilly. I wonder will Lucky, Gianna or Deedee seek revenge of Luci's death?

A Family Affair!

I enjoyed this series which was well written. I liked all of the characters especially Jovan, Shanelle, Cory and the rest of the McPherson. Monty discovered who his biological father was someone he knew. The Commission
started a war against Jovan but the Syndicate members and family prevailed.
Inez had constructive surgery done on her face but Cory didn't but has decided to have surgery done to remove his scarring. You just had to love the neighbor from across the street. Uncle Snap was an old OF who was loyal to the family
and became a father figure. Didn't like Dee Dee. This book dealt with cultural differences and what it meant to older members. Also dealt with deceit and secrets. Loved all three books.

What a great read! Brick and Storm have done it again! This storyline just keeps getting better and better! This one was the discovery of what really happened to Kingston McPhearson and I was too through. Family can heal, help or hurt! To leave all this in a journal was a great way to speak from the grave. I wonder if we're done or will we see DeeDee, Lucky and Giana again??? I guess time will tell. For now the Syndicate is in tact and the fight continues on. A few grammatical errors but not enough to distract. Til next time McPhearson children!

I’m in shock at how the story ended. I wasn’t expecting it to be another man’s battle. Or for King’s killer to be the person that it was. However this was the perfect ending. All of the lingering questions that I had from part 2 were answered in part 3. That’s book was action packed, unpredictable and amazing revelations revealed from the eyes of the characters. I lost myself in this book, completely immersed into characters & all of the things going on. I loved every minute of it.

Omg this was a goooood book. I loved how it picked up from the last book. They way they took care each other when they had trail and tribulations arrived. This series was off the damn hook. Just know everyone should read this because in my view all families should be like this it’s just my opinion. Please don’t sleep on this series its phenomenal.

Sweet baby Jesus this series was amazing! Book 1 was a little slow for me as it laid the foundation for the key players. Book 2, family drama at it its finest! So what would book 3 give me? Secrets revealed! Lordt I was in no way prepared to find out the things I found out in this last book. Phenomenal! That's how you end a banging series!

When reading a series, you have no idea how it's going to end - this was no different. Drama, suspense, secrets and revelations that shatter your world or make you stronger. one thing they learned is to be careful who they trust and the past can come back to haunt you.

It's aight

I chose this rating because I expected so much more. The build up was incredible, but then there was no kaboom bomb at the end. I'll continue to ride with Mr. Weber, but he has to bring it the next time. Overall it was a good read but I've read better by Carl Weber.

Goodness! The secrets this family had going on was way too much but in a " damn this is a good read" way. Overall the series was great and written very well. In the beginning I felt like it was missing something but that was just the foundation being laid for the characters. Great Read!

This book was good from the beginning to the end.
Mama Claudette was one amazing woman. She raised her children to be every part of her and King. All of their stories came together. It broke my heart to find out who killed King. Jealousy and greed will always end the bloodline.

The book was cumbersome to me. I did not really enjoy the back story of King and Luci did not grab me. I am more interestted in the siblings.

This book was everything. I didn't trust Luci from the beginning. The twist and turns in this book did not disappoint. I wonder if DeeDee or Julianna will come back for revenge.
