Crossing Lines: A St. Louis Love Story
When you find your mind and heart speaking to you, it’s hard to solely ignore. Havok and Shannon met on a glimpse. Although the chemistry was deeper than tree roots, Shannon’s attraction is flipped into fear when she becomes an unintended target. When the smoke clears, can she put her trust in the man who gunned her down? These two lives are tainted from the beginning. Shannon Mitchell didn’t set out to be a single mother. Nevertheless, she has a backbone of steel and a heart of gold. Losing her job, which forced her to relocate back to her hometown of Saint Louis was never in her plans. Shannon made the choice any real mother would. Picking up the late night shift at a strip joint in East Saint Louis, she is quickly pulled in by the fast money. Staying on her grind leads her to many late nights and early mornings. The one morning she sets out to go home to her son, Teon, she ends up being rocked to the ground by a stray bullet. Profusely bleeding, she lays eyes on the shooter. The compromising situation leaves her to lean on Havok to get her medical attention before she bleeds out. When she thinks he is taking her to the hospital, she is sadly mistaken when her heavy eyes roam on a poverty-stricken Clinton Peabody project building.
Shontez “Havok” O’Neal went from being broke as hell and sleeping on his Grandma Uma’s couch, to flipping bricks. With a fast come up, the hate is heavy on him. Watching his back and not giving anybody a chance to knock him, Havok is placed between a brick and a hard place when Shannon falls victim to his chaotic lifestyle. Nursing her back to health is the least he can do for this single mother. Even when she pushes him away, he goes the extra mile for this woman. Shannon becomes his weakness, and with time, Shannon’s weakness is him. What should have placed these two far apart, glued them together for a ride they didn’t see coming. The right thing to do becomes the last thing to do when your heart is on the line.

I Shannon and her friends Nikol and Jourdan Are the perfect fit for friends. I love them. Nikol and Mercy are funny as hell together as a couple😂😂Shannon is a good woman but she pissed me off not telling Havoc she was separated but still married to stoop abusive dog ass!! Shannon was a hot mess for that! Havoc had his minor issues but he love Shannon and she kno it! I love the chemistry and raw love Shannon and Havoc shared. After Shannon told her friends the news about her mess up they had the right to be mad but I agree with Shannon they still should’ve been there for her and support her instead of giving her the cold shoulder. I have high hopes that Havoc and Shannon will work things out after Shannon tell Havoc the news and that she’s pregnant. They are the perfect fit for each other! Thanks Coco girl I truly enjoyed this book! On to part 2 y’all I’m to amped up! Go read this book! 😝😝✌🏽

I'm so angry at Shannon for waiting to tell Havoc about her so called husband and the baby. Troop really has issues and I can't wait until Havoc deals with him. I don't like how Shannon's so called friends flaked out on her either.

I'm loving Havok and Mercy can't believe Pretty Black is married and the fact that Troop ain't even the baby daddy that's crazy I was totally not expecting that at all. I understand her girls being PISSED but Pretty Black was wrong as he'll for not letting Havok know what was going on. She should've been honest from the jump especially since her man is a street dude, like you know how he gets down and not only that his cousin baby mama just got killed behind some cheating shit because he was messing with a married woman. I don't know if Havok will be willing to forgive her. Get ready to read Part 2

This is my first book by this author and I’m hooked! I love the storyline. I can’t believe Shannon was hiding that big secret from everyone. Troop needs to go somewhere. I’m cheering for Havok and Shannon to make it!

I really enjoyed this story. It wasn't as cliche as a lot of urban fiction romances go and I found myself really liking and understanding the characters. There were minor editing issues, but not enough for me to knock a star from

Love St. Louis books and this one was a great read to follow along with. It needs some work but overall the characters kept me entertained and wanting to read more.
