Jump Girl: The Initiation and Art of a Spirit Speaker--A Memoir

Rate this book
The remarkable life story of growing up psychic and learning to work with Spirit, as told by a medium and psychic seerCarrying on traditions woven of her Blackfoot and Celtic roots, Salicrow is a natural psychic medium from a family with a long history of profound connection to the unseen world. In this intimate memoir, she tells the story of how she became aware of her gifts as a child, how she was taught and encouraged by her grandmother and father, and how for more than 25 years she has worked as a seer, using the Tarot and Runes as tools to help people communicate with their beloved dead, as well as to contact the guiding spirits who watch over them. Revealing what it feels like to be called to serve in the metaphysical world, she describes her experiences divining the future and revisiting the past, speaking with herself from prior lives, time traveling to do energetic healing work on the planet, learning from the spirits themselves, using kinetic force, continuing to study and hone her skills, and much more.

It is always fascinating to read a memoir of someone you know. Although, to be honest, I "know" Salicrow through her work with mutual clients and druid friends. This is a powerful story that challenged me to remain open- having seen for myself how her work has impacted people I had no doubts about her abilities even though they don't fit with me personal experiences of after-death. It took courage and heart to write such a clear memoir of her journey to being a psychic medium, something that shines through the narration.

"I am a witch. That, is I am a keeper of arcane knowledge, a practitioner of the magical arts. I am a diviner; I see into the future and the unknown. I am a medium because I communicate with the deat. I am a healer, and I am capable of speaking to the land itself and its creatures. The title of witch belongs to me."

She is also a gift to her community and the land she calls home.

Kindred spirits

I loved reading about her journey of connecting with spirits and all the ups and downs in her life. My best friend is an oracle and seer since childhood and Sali's experience gave me a glimpse of what my friend has gone through. In fact she is the one who suggested I read this. It would be an honor to be able to meet you someday. Thank you so much for sharing your humaness.

I totally enjoyed this book. I don't usually read memoirs, but I did a search on Amazon for shaman books and this book came up. I started to read a sample and was captivated by her life story right away. I'm glad this book crossed my path and I'm looking forward to her next book.

Had to force myself to finish this. What a mess of a book it was. I would not recommend this book at all.
