My heart says yes.
My mind says no.

I can't believe Jude just swaggered back into town like nothing happened…
It's been ten years since he took my virginity.
Ten years since he ran away from town and never turned back.
He’s a famous daredevil, and he's offering me the opportunity of a lifetime.
Go on the road and write about his life. All of it.
It should be a no brainer for a struggling journalist like me.
And there’s so much to write about.
Like his ice blue eyes that seem to make my panties melt off.
His slippery tongue that disappears between my legs on the tour bus.
He took more than my virginity…
Something that scarred me for life.
I can't forget him, but can I ever forgive him?

This is a full length stand-alone steamy romance with a happily ever after!

Received an ARC for my fair review from author. I liked JJ, but I was not crazy about was not crazy about Ava. Now I can understand that she was hurt that her hurt, and Ido not want do give out spoilers, on the reason that she was hurt, however if she felt the way she felt, then why travel with JJ, she was just torturing him, and herself. She was so mean to him, and he truly loved the fact that he had not forgotten about her, and what had happened and wanted a chance, he was hurting, so either forget about him, and give him a chance and stop being bitter or leave him alone..ok ok I know what happens but it had irked me, how she had treated him..and Chuck, huh....

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of the book.

After reading this, I totally think that the new title is way more fitting than the original. I read this pretty quickly, and while it kept my interest, it honestly wasn't one of my faves from Kira Blakely. It was sort of like whiplash in book form. It starts off with a nice and sweet prologue and then quickly descends into small town drama - complete with tales of parental abuse, death, and abandonment. One minute Jude/JJ is deeply in love with Ava and wants to win back her heart and the next he's convinced that all he wants is sex (and he even goes about trying to get it from her in slightly dubious ways). And Ava vacillates between hating JJ and wanting nothing to do with him to succumbing to his every sexual advance. I just couldn't figure out what the characters really wanted from each other until towards the end and even then, with all of the drama surrounding them it was still difficult to decipher. And Ava just got on my nerves - like, a lot. Anyway, while this book may have been a one off for me, I'll still continue to read Kira's books - this one just didn't hit the spot. I give it 2.75 out of 5 wine glasses.

Another book from Kira Blakely that packed with emotions.
This one is a lovely second chance romance.
A hot motocross star and a free journalist, both with dark past that hanging over them. First love that got destroyed by tragic incident.
It picked my curiosity from the beginning wondering what had happened in that summer, what incident that breaking Ava and Jude apart. Yes these things make me can't put this book down, these and all the emotions that this book brings. I got teary, I got frustrated, I feel the angst, I feel the pain and of course I feel the love.

As for characters. I loveeee Jude. He never stop trying, he'll do anything to make it better, and when he loves, he loves hard. Although until the end, I don't get why people hate or blame him.
And Ava, I understand her fears, but I kinda hate her, for that pull and pull act and I think she takes Jude's love for granted.

Great story, strong characters and plenty of emotions. So overall, I really like this book.

If you're looking for second chance romance packed with emotions, this book definitely for you.

ARC review
This is a good story about second chance love. Jude was the town bad boy. Ava was the good girl. They became high school sweethearts until tragedy tore them apart. 9 years later Jude has become a success and makes millions in extreme sports. He has tried to move on with his life. Ava blames him for the tragic death of her brother and is still stuck in the past. Her character was very frustrating. Once we get the entire story of her brother's death, it seems strange that they blamed Jude. Her back and forth in the book was extremely annoying also. I also hate when someone wants to come in and change a person. She hated what he did for a living and constantly pressured him to stop. She caused a lot of unnecessary strain and conflict. Still the story was well written and interesting. Ava and Jude's chemistry was off the charts.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely love a good second chance romance. I especially love a motocross star and that is exactly what Jude is!! Ava is a freelance journalist and I have to say that neither one of them has a very pleasant past they are carrying around. A tragic accident destroyed these two and their love. Ten years later and Jude just walks back into town like nothing has happened and Ava isn't having it. Their's is a story you will not be able to put down. Your all going to fall for Jude....I don't see how anyone couldn't fall for him. This book too is a more emotional read than I originally thought it was going to be and I have to say it is just an all around perfect story.

First Love Second Chance by Kira Blakely a first chance five-star read. This may be my favourite by this author and I have read everything she has published I think. Jude Jacobs is my type of bad boy, yummy springs to mind when thinking of him. Ava James is one lucky woman in some respects, in others I can understand why she can’t look him in the eye. Eva has faced struggles in life and now faces the biggest struggle of all, could you go on the road with a bad boy racer that broke your heart and soul once upon a time?
This was such a great read, I am on a total second chance romance binge at the moment and maybe that’s why I love it so much, but once again Kira has written an amazing story.

Reviewed on behalf of Reading Through Her Eyes book blog.

A hero with a tough, bad boy outer shell and a soft, vulnerable center, Jude Jacobs left his hometown after graduation to become a famous motorcycle stunt racer. He thought leaving would help him forget about what happened one fateful night, and about the girl he loved, Ava.

Ava James shows the world the mask of a strong, independent woman, when in reality she is broken inside. Still clinging to the past, she can’t get over what happened when she was younger with her brother and Jude.

Almost ten years after the ‘incident’, Jude returns to attend a mutual friend’s wedding because he knows that Ava will be there too. He wants to apologize and set things right with her in the hopes of getting a second chance to be with her. Ava has different ideas though. Although she still loves Jude, she isn’t sure if she can ever get over what happened in the past. Her fears hold her back from any possible romantic relationship with Jude.

As a freelance journalist, Ava ends up going on tour with Jude to write an exclusive article about him. The two spend a lot of time together during the tour, most of which sees Jude trying everything he can to get Ava back in his bed and his life, and Ava fighting her feelings for Jude along with the demons of the past.

Eventually, Jude wears Ava down and he thinks that they are on the path to being together, but Ava still can’t let go of the past, so she runs, leaving Jude without a word. He tries for a while to contact her, but after not receiving any answer, he gives up.

After thinking long and hard about the past and possible future, Ava decides to go after what she wants, Jude. But will she be too late? Will her hang ups over the past destroy any chance she Jude have of a happily ever after?

This book ran the gamut of emotions. It had excitement, sadness, shock, happiness, and everything in between. And the sexual tension between Jude and Ava was intense. The characters were wonderfully written and the story held my attention throughout. I would definitely recommend this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. What an emotional and hopeful book about first love and second chances. I loved Jude and Ava's story. Two people who grew up together along with Ava's twin Andy, who is also Jude's best friend. The two are drawn to each other from the beginning and have a connection that blossoms into first love when they are 17. Ava is assigned as Jude tutor for English over the summer. The two become very close and end up being each others firsts. Ava has always thought of Jude as a risk taker and somewhat bad boy. Her brother Andy is the same way. The two guys enjoy motocross and one fateful day Andy has a tragic accident that Ava along with her parents blame Jude for. Jude has had a rough upbringing and leaves to pursue his love of motocross. Fast forward nine years and he is back in town for a wedding of mutual friends of both he and Ava. Ava is still stuck in the past and has a hard time realizing Jude is not to blame for what happened to Andy. Jude offers Ava a job of writing an article about his life. He wants her in his life again and realizes he is still in love with her and thinks this will help her to realize she still loves him as well. Ava agrees to travel with him to observe and write his story. She still has trouble accepting what he does and not being frightened that what happened to Andy won't happen to Jude. This is a wonderful story and I love how the story line is written. It had some intense moments at times, yet it was full of passion, sexy and steamy scenes and full of hope and trust that everything would turn out great. Loved the romantic ending and the HEA!

I love this story. It is a great second chance romance.

Jude is the town bad boy that the adults say will amount to nothing. In order to graduate his teacher assigns him tutors for the summer. Ava is known as one of the best kids in town, same as her brother. Their parents tell them to stay away from Jude. They get assigned to tutor Jude over the summer. Something bad happens before they graduate and everyone takes their own paths.

Nine years later and Jude is a star of the motocross world. He hasn't been home once since he left his hometown, until one of his best friends from high school invites him to a wedding. He decides to go just because he knows Ava will be there and he wants to explain himself to her since they have not talked in all that time.

Ava is a freelance writer making her way in NYC. She returns him for her best friends wedding as the maid of honor. When Jude comes up to talk to her, she tries hard not to be drawn to him, after all she hates what happened in the past that involves the sport he is a star of.

When things don't go as planned Jude offers Ava an exclusive interview because he trusts only her to get it write it since she already knows so much about him. The condition is that she has to travel with him and watch a couple of exhibitions to write the best price. Ava agrees since she knows that this could be the best opportunity to become a well known writer.

This is a must read to find out about what happened in the past. The agruements and the agreements, the passion, and what drives both of them. Can either of them let go? Is the past all that stands in the way?

This is a wonderful story, I couldn't put it down once I started it. It's a second chance romance for the two main characters, Ava and Jude, two people who have known each other for a very long time. They were each other's first when it came to s*x and they burned hot for eachother. Tragedy strikes and Jude leaves town and doesn't look back. Nine years later Jude comes back to town for a friend's wedding. He sees Ava again and knows his feelings for her have not changed and by the way she's looking at him, he is pretty sure she still has feelings for him. Ava is now a journalist and Jude is an extreme sports motocross rider. Jude decides that he wants to let Ava come with him for the next six weeks of the motocross season in order for her to write a piece about Jude and his motocross career. With the feelings these two have for each other it makes for an interesting journey. Add in the fact that Jude's manager is a money grubbing jerk and really doesn't like having Ava around distracting Jude and of course all the female fans that constantly throw themselves at Jude, I wonder if this second chance is doomed before it even starts. Grab this book and hang on for the emotional rollercoaster ride of a lifetime. This book is a definite must read.

Wow. Hot! I love Kira Blakelys books and this one is not exception. It is very well written and an amazing read.
I like the new titel more than the one which was on the ARC copies. It suits the story way better. I like the story line and plot. The story flows well of the pages and is captivating from first to last chapter. The hot scenes and chemistry are well described and the characters develops through the story. Sometimes I was a bit confused by Judes thoughts and wants about Ava. And Ava is also confused about what she wants. But it did not ruin the story for me. I like that it is written in dual POV and gives the reader the thoughts and feelings of both main characters. It is a second chance romance with lots of drama, passion, lust, romance, emotional ups and downs and twists that are unsuspected. The main characters has issues from their past they have to let go of to get their HEA. Lots of steamy scenes and hot chemistry. But is that enough?
I like the writing style of Kira Blakely and her way of using the words to make the reader think about the aspects. The book is well balanced between the hot scenes and the romance story.
I can only recommend it to others.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Ava James and Jude "JJ" Jacobs. Back in high school Ava and Jude were a hot and heavy couple. That all changed the night her brother died while trying to perform a trick on his bike. JJ went on to make lots of money in the sport. Ava and her parents blamed JJ for her brother dying that night. When JJ offers her a job she wonders can she get over the old feelings or will it destroy more than a job opportunity?

JJ has never forgotten Ava or the feelings that he has had only for her. So when he gets the invitation to their friends wedding he is going to use it to his fullest advantage. However the more time he spends with her the more he sees how far her hurt goes. Can he win back his first love and even if he gets her can they fight the demons of the past or will they lose it all to them?

This is a great story about first love and first loss. There are many ups and downs in this story that I want to tell you all about but don't want to ruin the story for anyone else. I will say this book will grab hold of you from the first word and not let go till the very end. I would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone.

For most of high school, Jude was just the sexy, reckless bad boy who was friends with Ava’s brother until the summer Ava tutored Jude in English. They became inseparable, we’re each others’ firsts, and it looked like they would be together forever until a devastating loss ripped them apart. Nine years later, Jude is back in town and wants a chance to explain things to Ava. They’ve never gotten over each other, but Ava is stuck in the fear and heartbreak from nine years earlier.

This is one of my favorite authors, so I jumped at the chance to read an advance copy of this book, and what a great read it is! This one will wreck your heart a little bit, with a bittersweet glimpse at pain, loss, acceptance and healing. Jude is a little damaged and beautifully endearing, both in the way he loves Ava and in the way he’s taken a tragedy and produced something positive out of it. Ava is still stuck in the past but, slowly and sweetly, Jude helps her overcome the pain and fear that have mired her for so long. I love second chances and I absolutely adored Jude and Ava! Their story is prime 1-Click, five star material that you won’t want to miss!!

I absolutely loved this book!!!❤ so many emotions that I felt while reading!! I couldn't help but fall in love with the story. Ava and Jude are so cute!!
Their story begins when they were 17 yrs old. Jude was the bad boy who loved riding his motorcycle. Ava was the good girl. Sadly a tragedy involving Ava's brother Andy shattered their life. They move on and don't see each other for a long time. When they finally see each other again it's obvious Jude wants Ava back. But Ava still holds so much remorse towards Jude because of what happened to Andy.
Jude and Ava go through so much throughout the book. They have to fight their past reminds to be happy but it's extremely hard. Ava wants to forget Jude mostly because of his profession. The memories it brings are to painful for her. Will she give up on them because she can't let go of the pass? Will he get tired of begging and waiting for her?
Then a tragic accident happens to Jude. Will this get Ava to stop running away from her feelings?
A MUST READ!!!!❤ loved, loved, loved this book!! Fantastic job Kira Blakely!!

This a love story that started as kids and turns into adulthood. Jude is the sexy bad boy that rides a motorcycle with a family life no one wants. Ava and her twin brother, Andy have done everything together and dream of college in the next year. Once tradgey occurs theirs lives shatter and everyone is looking to blame someone and low and behold it’s Jude. I love how strong Jude has become leaving his small home town and becomes a very wealthy businessman. He did it with loneliness and a broken heart. When his friend gets married Jude is invited against everyone’s wish but his one goal is to see Ava and speak with her. Once Jude realizes he can get Ava to agree to spend six weeks with him to write an exclusive story about him he knows his one goal is to have her. They both want one another but will thier past ever become something they can move past? Ava does not know if she can get over the tradgey and not hold it against Jude. Jude only wants to help heal Ava but Home many times does he need to put himself out there before Ava can move forward? Great story written by Kira!! I received an arc and I am leaving a voluntarily review.

rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. a great second chance novel after devastating loss. We need Jude...motorcross pro who has returned home for his friends wedding after running away after high school. Half the town wants to run him out of town and the other wants his autograph. memories plague Jude but one in particular...ava!! Ava is beside herself worrying if Jude will show up at the wedding...a bundle of nerves when she sees him...old.feeling come rushing back. a quick chat and a scorching kiss leads to Jude offering ava a job...doing an interview on him..which no one has ever had the chance. Ava jumps at it bc bills need to be paid...or so she thinks. Jude needs to tell ava what happened that day and she needs to listen. their chemistry still sizzles after all these years which leads to emotions and a roll in the hay after an emotional riding day for Ava. Can Ava move past whats been seen? can Jude convince ava that it's his job and what happened to her brother wad not his fault? will there be outside forces sabotaging them? will ava and Jude get past their own stubbornness and see what's in front of them?

Wow!! This book deserves way more than just 5 stars!! I loved it!! As I am an avid motocross/supercross follower and ride dirt bikes myself, it was amazing to finally read a book that was about this sport!! I’ve read one other before but have a hard time finding more of this genre so I was super excited to read about it. That being said, as a huge follower of this sport, there were a few minor inaccuracies but not enough that it bothered me so I doubt it would bother anyone else.
I loved the chemistry between Ava and Jude. It was off the charts, even when Ava didn’t want it to be. Also, it was so sweet that the first time Ava and Jude were together was actually the first time for both of them. I think I actually swooned at that lol. Throughout the book, you truly feel for both characters and what they been through and how they continue to struggle with the past and how to make it work in the future.
A truly phenomenal read that you won’t be disappointed in, and if you are, then I’m not sure what to tell you!

Sometimes you never get over your first love. This was true with Ava, even if she didn't want to admit it. Seeing Jude again at Dean and Emily's birthday wedding brought all of those unresolved feelings back to the center of her mind. She couldn't go back there again. She couldn't. She'd all ready lost Andy and that was enough. But, sometimes your heart wins. Even when your head is screaming no, sometimes all it takes is your heart whispering yes. I loved this book! It had young love, loss, heartbreak, devastation, and more... Since that was all crammed in to the first few pages. Sigh. Everyone deserves a second chance. Even Chuck said so. Her parents can't believe she would even give him the time of day, not after Andy. But she can't help herself, plus he is offering her the chance of a lifetime. This could be the break her career has been waiting for. I tell you, I was sucked in from the start. Hardly put it down. I was almost at those dirt tracks in my mind.

A roller coaster of a ride about two teenage first loves, Jude & Ava, who find each other years later after a tragic incident tore them apart. Through all those years neither one of them stopped thinking about the other so when Jude offers her a job she can't refuse, their past, present and future come colliding. No matter how much they try to deny their love, it doesn't work & soon they are once again together. Unfortunately there are obstacles, her fear of his sport, her parents, their hometown, his agent...will they overcome it.
A great read with steamy scenes and I liked Jude, he was willing to give up everything for Ava & knew w/o a doubt he loved her and he wasn't the man wh*** others believed him to be. He also turned his life around when nobody believed in him and proved he was worthy. Ava seemed to go back & forth, she wants him, no she doesn't, she wants him etc but it's because of the past and her fear that she can't let go and when she finally decided she didn't want to lose him was when I warmed up to her a bit more.

This is my favorite Kira book to date. What an amazing second chance story. Pain really closes up your heart no matter how much time passes. We all heal different ways and at different rates. Ava and Jude both are dealing with the death of Andy still and yet Jude is a daredevil and Ava is a freelance journalist. And while Ava may still have feelings for her first love Jude, she just can't with the bike. The pain is still there...he hires her to write an article about him.

Ava and Jude are both very well written, you feel the pain, love and every other feeling through them and you will be so captivated by them and be rooting for more then just them to get their second chance. This is a book about whether they can heal from the pain of Andy's death all that time ago. The pain is enough drama but then add in Charles and you get some more and doubts pop up for Ava.

I loved both Ava and Jude as people and watching them explore this fine line between love and hate and even lust is so much fun. I am not over this book yet it was that good.

The One You Let Go, Doesn't Always Stay Gone

The summer they were 17 years old is a time neither Jude Jacobs nor Ava James will ever forget. It's the summer they fell in love. It was the summer they lost their virginity. It was the summer before they became high school seniors. And it was the summer that everything changed.

Now, 9 years later and Jude's back in town seeking Ava's forgiveness and a second chance with the one he left behind. He has a proposal he knows Ava can't resist. Follow him for six cities on the motocross circuit and write an article on him that captures who he really is. After all, who better to write it than the person who knows him best?

First Love Second Chance was amazing! It was full of emotion and steamy sexual tension. Kira Blakely nailed the chemistry of the two main characters, the combination of love and hate was perfect for the plot. I definitely fell in love with this story. It's one of those books that I know I won't be able to resist reading again. I definitely recommend this as a must read!

I read this book as part of an arc program. I really enjoyed the second chance romance between JJ (Jude) and Ava. JJ and Ava's brother Andy were childhood friends who used to race motor cross bikes and JJ went on to be a famous racer. JJ and Ava were together for the summer before they graduated and their relationship ended when Andy died while performing a stunt on the bike and Ava and her parents blamed JJ for the accident. Ava moved away and became a freelance writer and when her and JJ go back to town for a friend's wedding, JJ asks Ava to follow him on tour to write and article about him. Ava knows JJ doesn't do interviews and this will be a big job for her, she agrees. JJ has his own motives to getting Ava to go with him, he wants her back. I really enjoyed their story and the journey they took to come to terms with Andy's death and their love for each other. Another great one from Kira!

I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review. I would have to say that this is my favourite Kira Blakely book to date, the storyline held me captive and I just couldn’t put this one down. You will be left with questions in the air at the start of Ava and Jude’s story as something major happened that first Summer they were together that not only affected them but the whole town. Their story is an emotional one as a connection so strong is still there 9 years later. As Jude tries to get Ava to see that this is their second chance, his career, his manager and past demons will do their best to put up walls that these two will need to climb if they want to take this chance. If you like a second chance romance that gives you a touch of mystery and shows you love certainly can take the test of time then this book is a must read for you.

Jude was a stunt rider for motocross. He came home for a wedding and to see Amy. Amy was a free lance writer who had come home to be maid of honor for her best friend. Jude and Amy had a history and both still loved each other. This book has demons from the past, sexy scenes, interference, and love. Can Jude win Amy back? Will Amy be able to forgive Jude for the past? Will they have a second chance for a happy ever after? Read the book to find out all the answers to it. It is a lovely book filled with highs and lows.
Kira once again shows her talent as a writer. She has taken her two dimensional characters and integrated them into her plot. She takes her readers in a journey of finding forgiveness and love. I reviewed and Advance Reader Copy of this book and am leaving an honest review.

A heartfelt second chance romance!

An emotional, frustrating wreckage of tale, about Jude and Ava high school, loves broken apart by tragedy, living with the pain of guilt and have never entirely moved on for nine years since.
When Jude comes back to his hometown for a wedding, his ulterior motive is to see Ava, when his fame does not sway her- he uses it to his advantage by offering her a job. Hoping to show her he is not the man she thinks is...
Can she move on? Can Jude move on?
I loved every sad, frustrating, clustery hot mess of this sexy beast of a second chance romance!
Kira Blakely outdid herself with this unique storyline!
( even if I wanted to throttle Ava AND Jude occasionally )
An absolute one sitting read for me, I could not put it down!

Wish there were more star rating than five because
this one is definitely worth it.
Before you start this book go and turn you aircon on to the coldest setting
you are going to need it.
From the first page I could not put this book down.
Ava and Jude were young sweethearts until Ava twin brother past away trying some tricks
on his bike.
10 years after that Ava was a bridesmaid for her best friend and Jude was there.
At first it was not so great between them because Ava still blame Jude for the Death of her brother.
Jude offered Ava a job she could not refuse and this is were this book really start to get really
Interesting with twists and turns you just want believe so you just keep turning the pages
because you just have to find out how everything ends for them.
