I am in the process of starting up my own business in beauty and holistics industry and entered to win this guide to help me do this, not knowing the author was one of the finalists of The Apprentice UK (which I am a fan of).

I found this a refreshing update of the current business guides that are out there as the world of business is constantly changing. I enjoyed being able to take the book at my own pace, dipping in and out when I had the time as well as working on different aspects. The reference to personal business advice as well as asking other self made business owners made it feel like it wasn't just someone telling you advice but making it tie in with actually learning from experience.

I do recommend a read, even a purchase of a copy as I see myself going back to it often during my self made career.

i won a copy of this book in the good reads giveaway, i loved this book, before reading i had know idea it was written by bianca miller from the apprentice, which was a plus for an apprentice fan, as someone who plans to one day start a business i have read a few books but never felt any closer with where to start, this book points you in the right direction, it doesn't get a head of itself, while it mentions tax etc its more focussed on helping you get a business started (where to go to get websites set up etc etc) rather than how to run one, which is exactly what i have been looking for.

I have recently been thinking about how to create my own business. The book is an excellent guide, including most of the topics, which you will encounter as an entrepreneur. It covers topics from coming up with the idea, developing and researching the concept to the legal establishment of the firm, the marketing strategies of the business, and different financing options. I would recommend the book to everyone who is planning to set up their own business. Make some notes or use a pencil to mark the chapters you find more useful and keep returning to the book when you encounter a different issue while running your own business.

This is a good book for someone wanting to learn the basics of business running and ownership and for someone starting out.
I have read numerous books on business and found that the contents was nothing new that I hadn’t read before. That being said it drilled home some basics and had several nuggets that were powerful and worth the cost of the book.

I particularly liked this book as it gave actionable steps for starting out in business. As a first time entrepreneur aiming to grown my startup - Find My Facility - within the sports industry, the contents of this book proved useful in developing a concept and taking it to market. A must read for people looking to start up a small business in the U.K. The book covers topics from getting finance to marketing to tips on how to balance your time as a small business owner!

It mentions and links to useful resources that can help small biz owners & contains insights from experts on specific areas like an IP lawyer and a social media influencer.

It covers basic business topics every biz owner needs to know about so I’d definitely recommend reading this at the very start of your start up journey, even before you’ve got a brand name and product ideas!
