Derek, a little green dinosaur, is somewhat worried that he likes to stay home and knit instead of acting like his ferocious brothers, but the onset of cold weather allows his knitting to become useful.
Im so upset that this book is out of print. My grandmother bought me this book as a child and I absolutely loved it. My sister did as well. When my grandmother found out I had a daughter of my own and that I couldn’t find my original copy, she ordered us a second hand copy off Amazon. I didn’t remember the plot at all, just my love for the picture book itself. When I read it to my daughter, I fell in love with it all over again. I story about accepting others for who they are and how important it is that we all are different and love different things. These things may seem uncool or weird but in the end are useful in their own way.

Because the boys' dad does some knitting I thought this might be a fun book. Unfortunately, it's rather dull. So there's this dinosaur and he knits and frets about not looking like a "real" dinosaur. Then the ice age comes and his knitting saves him and his brothers. ~yawn~
