I absolutely adore this series and after having 4 books focused on Cam and his Pack I was more than a little bit excited to see how Grant was as Alpha, I've gotta say I was not disappointed! Much like his brother Grant is a strong and fierce Alpha who puts his Pack and their safety above all else, he really is a great Alpha. Shelly comes into her own as the Alpha She-Wolf now she is in Scotland with the Pack, but can she earn the Pack's respect? You'll have to read it to find out! ;)

In A Highlanders Return you get to see their father's behaviour first hand... Let me just say that if anything Cam doesn't hate that man enough, he is a truly vile creature! The story is filled with highs and lows and with the Pack members adjusting to accept their new Alpha She-Wolf it's a bumpy journey. Grant's pack is quite different to Cam's and Fergie's and I loved seeing all the little differences. There's not a lot else I can say without spoiling the story and I really wouldn't want to do that so I'll just say this... If you want a paranormal read that is engaging and has you believing in shifters and all things magical then this series is for you, it is truly amazing how clear I can picture every detail from AK Michaels' descriptions. Thank you Ava for another jaw dropping book from the Highland Wolf Clan, I for one can't wait to see where they go from here!

This is Grant's story and we see him returning home to his beloved Scotland to resume his duty as alpha to his clan, but he's not returning alone he's bringing his new mate Shelly. The clan are delighted but there's trouble afoot as not every one is as pleased as Grant would have hoped.

This is a short story but still it is a thrilling adventure. I missed Cam and the rest of the gang from the previous books but Grant's story is just as entertaining, and it was nice to see his strengths. 5/5

Just love this series! This instalment sees Grant taking Shelly home to Scotland! It was another quick read but doesn't lack the excitement that I have loved in the other books in this series!
Highly recommend this book to all who love a good ALPHA read!

I really enjoyed reading this, it was nice to read about a character who isn't the main character so to speak. I've started reading the last one in the series, and I think I'm going to miss The Highland Clan Wolves.

Cover/Title: Not sure why but the covers have changed. The first several books have a kind of constellation look to the covers. Almost like the stars creating a wolf in the sky. This one is totally different. Not bad, just different.

Characters: We meet a lot of new characters as Grant takes Shelly back home to his pack. I really liked a lot of the characters. I am not a fan of Nancy or Lachlan, which was the author's intent since they are the villains of this book. I did like the other characters introduced.

Plot: It was a nice change of pace to leave Cam & Fergie's packs and head on over to Scotland to meet Grant's pack. Grant has some work to catch up with his brother and cousin but he has some really great people in his pack also.

Overall: I enjoyed this look at the other pack that is briefly talked about. I would love to read more about them in future books. I am looking forward to more in this series.

Read through Kindle Unlimited.
Totally enjoyed this shorter story set in Scotland set in Grant’s pack.
Grant takes Shelly home to Scotland where they face betrayal by a friend and total treachery by someone close.
Sandy was amazing as a Beta. I have read his story and totally loved him in it.
So sad about Agnes and what she had suffered.
Cam was right in hating his father but I think Lachlan was losing his mind or had a sickness.
Nancy got off very lightly.

Book five of the Highland Wolf Clan is a shorter book than the other in the series mainly focussing around Grant and Shelly and their return home to Grants pack in Scotland. To officially break the news that he has a mate and meet the parents!
---------
Except:
With you by my side, I think I can take on anyone, including your father.
---------

As Grant fills Shelly in on Scotland (and Grant picks his new Beta) and her new pack and family she would meet Agnes (grants mother) and Lachlan (his father) who we both know Cam and Grant have had their issues with throughout the series to date.
---------
Excerpt:
"Guess we've a lot to learn about both of our origins, don't we?"
"We have a lifetime to learn, Mo runsa."
---------

As the pair prepare to inform the pack and their families or their true pairing and that they are infact the "Chosen two" and talk to 'the elders' about their true 'bond' which has been written about for hundreds of years but little known about.

But as this happens its clear that Lachlan has major issues with Grant choosing someone from America. Also giving up his "Alpha" status is something that causes great issues between the father and son and his new mate.
----------
Excerpt:
"...Make no mistake, I am Alpha, and if he pushes me to it then I will. I'll challenge him if he causes problems for me, you or the Pack."
----------
Also we meet Nancy. A character I am curious about as haven't used much about her until now. Only that she was a close member of the family and that she felt very uncomfortable at being pushed away and took an instant dislike to Shelly. Her issues would stem further but how far would she go?!
----------
Excerpt:
She'd have to get closer to this Shelly and size her up. See if she was indeed Alpha She-Wolf material. If not then Nancy was determined to do something about that...
----------

The truth about Lachlan and Agnes also becomes more concerning. That Grants parents had been suffering some problems and with the new found information and loss of control as ex-Alpha upon his sons return would shed light on the true extent of the problems and demons he faced.
---------
Excerpt:
Not for the first time she wondered where the man she'd fell in love with had gone. Certainly this one before her was not he.
---------

But as Shelly was keen to show her place in the pack and as true She-Alpha others would be set to question her abilities and strength despite knowing what she had previously been through.
---------
Excerpt:
For the first time since Cam and his Wolves had killed Dupont and his men, her stomach clenched in fear. Something was not right...
---------

As someone close to the family sets up a trap for the newcomer into the pack, not only Shellys life, but Grants too would be in danger.
The two of the people Grant held close to them Previously would hurt them the most, with dire consequences...
---------
Excerpt:
What you've done is the worst betrayal of a Pack imaginable, and by rights you could be sentenced to death.
---------
But with decisions made, lives and loves lost, would Shelly and Grant be able to find their place in Scotland? Could their indeed find their happily ever after?
--------
Excerpt:
I love you, much more than those words can tell you. My bonnie lassie, my mate, my heart.
---------

Another incredible instalment for the Highland Wolf Clan that flowed as well as the others and proved to be just as enthralling as the other books, lots more directions to see where the rest of the series will go. As ever I am anxiously awaiting more from the incredible A K Michaels!

Book five of the Highland Wolf Clan series is a tad shorter than the others in the series but that in now detracts from the dynamic story. This time the story focuses on Grant and Shelly as they return to the Highlands and face Grants father and the home pack!!

There are wonderful snippets of pure Scots language and culture speckled throughout the book. As a Scot myself I can tell you that a roll with Egg and Tattie scone is as amazing as it's portrayed in the book (yummmmmmmmy). Grant makes decisions on the pack hierarchy and we meet his parents, Lachlan and Agnes. Lachlan is...well not to give too much away, a crotchety old @:{%!!! You soon see why Cam left!

We also get to meet more of the home pack including Nancy, a former fried on Grant, who now seems to have a bit of an issue of the new Alpha female in the pack. As events unfold Lachlan begins to realise that things are not going his way and unleashes some diabolical plans!

But Shelly is not a weak wolf!!! She is more than capable of standing up to this old Alpha and she will support her mate and find her place within her new pack.

Snappy writing as you would expect from AK Michaels and a story that moves at quite apace. The characters have strenths and weaknesses even though they are "supers" and I loved how she dealt with some of the more human parts of the wolves lives - incl domestic strife and pack hierarchy. As mentioned it is slightly shorter than the others in the series so far but I am eagerly awaiting no.6!!

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
The Reluctant Alpha (Highland Wolf Clan Series #1)
The Alpha Decides (Highland Wolf Clan Series #2)
New Beginnings (Highland Wolf Clan Series #3)
Despair and Destiny (Highland Wolf Clan Series #4)

Grant is headed home with Shelly his mate at his side. But not everyone is happy about him being home and him having a mate. Others thought he would choose a mate from home. Will his pack ever accept Shelly as his mate? What is going on with Nancy? How far will people in the pack go to get rid of Shelly? Grant’s having issues with his father letting go of being Alpha. Will he be able to control his father? Or will his father’s rage go out of control? If he has to fight for his pack will he be able to? How deep does the betrayal go? Will they come out of the betrayal the same?

I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story in this series.

I was given an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.

This is the 5th installment in the Highland Wolf Clan series and deals with Grant taking Shelly to his home in Scotland. Once there, he introduces Shelly as his mate and explains to the pack that their hearts beat as one just like in the prophecy.
While this is going on, they have to deal with Grant’s father and his horrible attitude and one of Grant’s closest friends, Nancy. She has an issue with Shelly not being one of their pack.
If you have read any of A.K. Michaels books, you know that things are easy. There is always the element of drama and some great fight scenes. This book is no exception.
To get the full impact of this story, you must start with book one. They are some of the best written books I have read in a long time.
As with all of A.K. Michaels' books, the writing is superb. The characters leap out of the pages and the story pulls you in. I mean we have hot Scottish wolf shifters, what more could you ask for?

REVIEW
Grant and his new mate Shelly have landed in Scotland heading to his pack land. Scotty his best friend is now his Beta. Not all are thrilled to meet Grant’s new mate including his awful father. Shelly tries to see the good in all so when she is duped into thinking one of Grant’s long time friends Nancy is her friend well it could mean her life or someone’s death. What a fantastic continuous of this series. I cannot wait to see what the author has in store for us next.
I love this shifter series and I enjoy how the author continues with where things leaves us in the previous stories.

I was gifted a copy of this book for my honest review.

Jumping straight into this book from book 4 we are off on a journey to Scotland with Grant and Shelly, he is anxious to show her off to his Pack but some are not pleased that he has an American as his Alpha She-Wolf.

We all know that Grant and Cam's father is a very hard person to get on with, and he is not happy with his new family member. Will Shelly manage to get everyone to see she will be an asset to the pack?

This is an action packed Novella and it was good to see Grant taking control of the pack, and Shelly is a strong Alpha She-wolf - will she survive? Will the other pack members believe the legend of the Twin hearts? IF they don't the consequences will be drastic for the whole pack!

But be warned, you will be waiting for book 6 by the end of the book, but I have pestered Ms Micheals ... we don't have to wait too long - YAY!

Grant and Shelly are on their way home Scotland to his and now her pack. He knows it will come as a shock to everyone I hope that they will all be happy for him and his new mate. And it seems like everything is going well except with his father and one of his oldest friends.

Shelly might be a little nervous about suddenly being thrust into the alpha female role but with Grant by her side she knows that she can do anything and she's determined to prove herself to her new pack.

As they both adjust to being home an unseen threat conspires to tear them apart.

They'll both have to be at the top of their abilities in order to ensure their survival and to ensure that things are better than ever for their pack.

With happiness, a few tears, and plenty of steam there's a little bit of everything in this book my only wish is that there would have been more to it!

'A Highlander's Return' is a short story based on Grant and Shelly's return to the Highland Wolf Clan, in Scotland. Not wanting to break his news over phone, Grant hasn't told his parents about finding his mate. Shelly asks, that he at least tell his mother. He agrees to ring is mother, but asks that she keep it a secret till they arrive. Grant can't wait to introduce is mate, announce his choice for Beta and tell the pack about all his new ideas.....

Will the pack except his mate as She-Alpha?

Will Shelly like her new home?

This may be a shorter story in the series, but you won't be disappointed. I couldn't stop reading till I finished the whole book. Love this series A.K.Michaels and can't wait for book 6 <3

t's time for Grant to go back to his own pack in Scotland. He is taking his true mate Shelly with him. He wants to wait until he gets home to tell the pack that their Alpha has a special connection with his mate. His father's temper has got even worse since he had to give up being Alpha. With Grant bringing an outsider in as Alpha she-wolf it shreds the last of his control. He feels he should be back in charge. Shelly has to prove herself to her new pack. Will they accept her? Will the old wolf get his way? Will Grant have to do the hardest thing a man can do. ?
A short addition to the series, but a very important part of the story. The beginning of a new era for the Scottish side of the pack.

Grant and Shelly return to Scotland after having a bonding ceremony with Cam's pack. We get a glimpse at the inside workings of Grant's pack as he introduces his new Beta, Sandy, and the new Alpha She-Wolf to the pack, and his parents. This is a shorter story than the others, but it serves its purpose. Shelly stands up and acts like an Alpha She-Wolf, indeed she excels at it. We see the true father, who Cam has never gotten along with, come out. What a nasty piece of work! Betrayal, however, comes at a price as the Alpha needs absolute control of his pack. Grant and Shelly are a couple who are good together, and I can't wait for Sandy to meet his mate. Looking forward to No. 6 in the Highland Wolf Clan series.

What a wild ride things happened that I would of never expected. You fully understand how and Why Cam left Scotland and the pack.
Grant returns to Scotland to introduce his new mate to all and to fully take over the duties of Alpha. He names his best friend Sandy as his Beta and the elders do confirm he and Shelly’s heart beat as one. I could not put this book down and held my breath in many places. Once you read it you will understand completely. By the end things have change for everyone. I can’t wait for book six and find out what Mac’s dilemma is. If you have not yet and you like paranormal hot love stories you need to add the Highland Wolf Clan to your reading list.

A Highlander's Return is a great addition to the Highland Wolf Clan series. The book narrates Grant and Shelly's love story and what happens to them when they get back to Scotland. I immensely enjoyed the new setting and the tension between the characters. If you like alpha males and great heroines this book has plenty. There are also sweet moments that counteract the tragedy striking our heroes' lives with a breath of fresh air. Well balanced, whimsical at times, gritty when needed, this fifth title in the Highland Wolf Clan series is a must read.

It was great to see what happens when Grant returns to Scotland With his new mate Shelly.
Will the pack be willing to accept her as their Alpha she wolf ?

If you are familiar with this series then you know there's bound to be threats and deceit and you certainly won't be disappointed but you may be shocked at the outcome.

This may be a shorter read than the others in this series but it certainly lacks nothing in its content.

Shelly and Grant are going to Scotland where Grant is alpha. Even though there are pack members that are ecstatic about Grants mate, his father is against Shelly and with the help of a family friend plans to make things right for himself.

I never seen that coming in this series but I loved Shelly and Grants story and his hard decisions for the good of the pack.

This is for any paranormal romance book lover. It is best to read the books in order because where 1 stops the next book starts.
