4.5 Stars!! I really enjoyed this book. It is fast-paced and sexy and sets the scene for the next story. I am looking forward to seeing what these Scottish wolves get themselves into as they find their mates.

WOWZA! I absolutely love it! The Reluctant Alpha is the first book in the brilliant new series, Highland Wolf Clan by A.K. Michaels and it totally rocks! Having previously read Ava's work, I naturally expected it to be good but in the words of Tony The Tiger - It's GRRREAT!!! Ava has dazzled us once again with her amazing talent and incredible skill; and given us another paranormal masterpiece filled with adventure, suspense, intrigue, action, fantasy, magic and romance. The story is exciting, thrilling, riveting, imaginative, humorous, romantic and arousing. The dialogue is smart, intelligent, very well written and flows effortlessly. The characters are fascinating, captivating, intriguing, endearing, engaging and sexy as sin. Wolf shifter Cameron 'Sin' Sinclair has it all - good looks, a bevy of women at his beckoned call, prestige, wealth and his own private jet. He is dangerous, demanding, ruthless and powerful and never shy about taking what he wants. But the one thing he definitely does not want is to return home to the Highlands of Scotland to take his father's place as Alpha of his clan. The beginning of another great series by the wonderful AK Michaels! Whilst this could have turned into another billionaire/shifter hybrid like so many others, it's a breath of fresh air. I'm not keen on the whole billionaire genre, but I really enjoyed Cam and his packmates!
Cam estranged himself from his fathers pack as he didn't want to be the next alpha of his father's pack. He made his own way in the world and now runs his own empire. He is a powerful billionaire and he loves to flaunt it in his fathers face. When he is summoned home, he learns his father is no longer fit to be pack alpha. But Cam can never feel at home in his own pack and decides to pass the reins to his brother. At the same time word is received from a linked pack that Cam's uncle and his pack have been attacked. His uncle needs help to figure out who is attacking them. So Cam and his friends go to America to find out who is attacking his uncle's people.
Whilst delving into the murky mystery of who is organising these attacks on the pack, Cam meets Chastity, sister and punchbag of a neighbouring alpha. Cams hackles rise at the treatment she is receiving at the hands of her brother and his cohorts and he is determined to rescue her.
Now on tenterhooks waiting for book 2!!!! I have a not to secret crush on Jacob and Fergie...sigh!!!!!!

I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK FOR AN HONEST REVIEW AND THIS IS MY HONEST OPINION
NOW BEFORE I SAY ANY MORE,I LOVED THIS AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE
Now on the first page I thought SPOILED PLAYBOY,OK so in some ways he is.
Especially when Cameron couldn't even remember the name of the woman he brought home with him , then goes and tells his best friend to go get rid of her, he'll stay and order them some food.At least his friend Jinx yelled at him about it. But before you decide this is not for you just know that by the tenth page you start to find out why he is like he is. As he answered his phone, his father who never him orders him home to the highlands of Scotland,that day. Cameron tells him I'm in Paris but I can be there later this morning. Jinx ask "problem" "of course, why else would he call me to come home" So he cancels everything in his business, when his mom calls within the hour and tells him she doesn't want him blindsided but there are problems, his father is slowing down and pack members are worried,So we need a new Alpha". Cameron"No No I'm not Alpha"
"That's not all, Cam please just shut up and listen!" He did, never hearing his mother raise her voice. " I know you will never be Alpha here but there is another problem, You're Uncle called and he has problems and asking for our help.So someone needs to become Alpha and someone needs to go to America" When Cam and Jinx get to Scotland and he talks to his father, telling him I will not come back here to live, and gives another choice for Alpha and he and Jinx will go to help his uncle's . His father says we may not be close but you are my son and the boys (Cameron's Long time friends)are going with you as back up, you don't know what you will run into there. So after eating and everyone getting ready, Cameron calls for his plane, not he tells them there is only 2 bedrooms and I don't share. Of course this brings lots of laughs from his 3 friends, bedrooms on a plane.Yes, but there are couches in the cabin I'm sure you will be able to sleep. We want to be rested because we don't know what could be wrong that would make my uncle call us for help.When they arrive they find there is more trouble then they though. The following morning as they go to check out the property, Cam has to tell his friends some of what only Jinx and his mother know,about some of his rare powers.Magic that he will use to see if anyone not clan is coming into the camp, And they are, using magic shields so they can be see or smelled,they follow the trail he uncovers to where his cousin was hurt,left in a wheelchair, no memory of what happened.But Cam now knows and must go back to tell them, also knows he needs more of his people working on this.It will take more then the fix he had though and his uncle wasn't going to like it. He needs a witch(the one thing his uncle hates even to the healing that might help his own son walk and be a real wolf again) to counter the intruder spells, or they will be fighting blind and he needs his best PI who also happens to be one big mean wolf.But on the way back Cam notices something, he tells the others to go back but wait outside the camp. A beautiful white she-wolf being chased by a male, fear rolling off her. NOT TELLING ANYMORE HERE When he gets back at first his uncle doesn't agree but Cam used to dealing with people who don't want to do things that need done, says "we came to help you but if you don't want us to we can leave but I can't keep you all safe alone.His pilot arrives bring the PI and his supplies and a message that his secretary needs him to call as soon as possible.In more than 20 years he hasn't know of her to be that upset or unable to deal with things herself. He Calls right then, she is upset a girl called and said she needed to reach him, she'd been punished. He knew he had to call her then hoping she wasn't hurt.Cam doesn't want a relationship, To me an Alpha but as Jinx tells him"But you are Alpha, and nothing you can do about it, you always have been". None of his friends have mates. But as things get worse, then worse.You start seeing one like someone, then another and another and at another camp 2 women seem to like two others, maybe we will all have to read the next book to find out all the who? what? Why? the wonderful things that make a terrific story? Will Cameron ever realize what he is? What he really wants? Can any of them really find mates? Or will they loose there chance by not admitting what they want or need? I can only say I am glad we are close to the next book and the answers.

This was a pretty good book, with a decent plot and likable characters. There is a good bit of angst and most of the book takes place from the initial male's point of view there is some depth added and a few subplots along the way. A young werewolf is brought up to take control of the pack, but his father pushes him too hard too early in life. The young werewolf runs away and becomes a very successful business man. This doesn't change his basic nature which is that of a werewolf born to lead. His father calls him back home with two problems, he solves one easily with the application of his younger brother and goes off to solve the second, this is where the book really begins.
I will not give away the entire book, but it is a bit of a page turner. The plot snaps along with very little lag time, of course this means the romances just snap along as well. If you're looking for a fast paced romance with a few interesting characters then this is a book to read. I got a bit spoiled by Shelly Laurenston so these shallow characters didn't really do it for me, but it is a pretty good light romance.

AK Michaels is such a talented Author and this new series is Just as amazing as the rest! I love the everything about the Highland wolf clan the characters are smart ass and funny! there are so many twist and turns and yes it does end on a cliff hanger..but good news with that is that Ava Writes so fast that you dont have to wait long to find out what happens!! Love this series and cant wait to see what is going to happen with Cam and the gang next!!

This is the first time reading any work by this author and I'm fairly positive I will read the sequel(s). I enjoyed reading this first book but can't say that it has made me a die-hard fan. I like the story but do not think it is as "hot" as some people describe it. Well, there is a chance it may be that way later on in the story, but for this first story I would have to say no. One thing I love though is the cover; the colors make it beautiful!

I guess I’m glutton for punishment. I tried to read Sabrina’s Vampire by the same author & it was awful but the reviews on this were so good I thought I should give it a shot. The writing is slightly improved but I can’t continue.
How are there so many high reviews for these books? I just want to send each person who gave this 5 stars, 5 other shifter books/series. There are so many great ones out there & they must be missing out.

This story didn’t really grab my attention for the first half. The writing was ok but the story as a whole was lacking something. I was just starting to really get into the story, really enjoy myself and understand the characters and then BAM cliff hanger. I’m way too greedy to not be frustrated by that. I probably won’t go out of my way to read the rest of the series now. I bet people will enjoy this story but it’s not for me.

I think I’m in the minority here but I really couldn’t finish this book. I hated the main character and found the dialogue between characters really awkward. There was no development of the female characters I felt like it was all about the man and just wasn’t interested. Theirs magic used but it doesn’t explain how it was just as simple as using a power.

Once back on pack land he first sees his brother Grant. His brother is hesitant and feels grief for becoming Alpha but Cam does not want that position.
Cam's mom lets him know there are 2 issues going on at the pack. 1. His father is slowing down and many fear for the Alpha and whom will take over but also his Uncle is having an issue in America.
Cameron and his father have never saw eye to eye on things and that is why Cameron left.
But he will try to help the best he can however he still refuses Alpha status.

A.K. Michaels does it again, a electrifying, heart pounding series that will reel you in hook, line and sinker!
Cam is an Alpha wolf with a touch of magic, he is the eldest son and in line to be Alpha of his pack in the highlands, only he wants no part of it. He left his pack for England a long time ago and is a worldly self made millionaire. He wants no part of his heritage. He is called home by his father to go to the States and help his uncle and cannot turn his family down. Little does he know that his world is about to be turned around.
Chastity has been living in fear all her life and then along comes this beautiful black wolf and saves her from imminent rape by her brothers Beta. She is suddenly transfixed on the shear magnificence of the wolf and the man. Cam is a sight to behold, will he be her salvation?
Jacob, Cam's PI is smitten with the witch Rebecca, will he be able to win her and control her, or has she bewitched him? Rebecca is awed by the shear size and dominance of Jacob, but she will not let him dominate her, she has always been a very independent woman and no man is going to take that away from her, or will he?

" Amazing!, Suspenseful!, A must read!"
Such an amazing shapeshifter book!. The characters are awesome!. Cam a sexy Billionaire who just happens to be a werewolf. His awesome best friend and pack mate Jinx who is funny,sexy and charming. Plus there are many more super sexy wolves in this book lol. Cam left his pack because of his Dominate Father who is the Alpha who pushed Cam to the point of abuse. Jinx his best friend went with him to help look after him. Cam did well for himself and built a MultiBillion dollar company. He tries not to have much to do with his pack. Then he gets a call from his Dad requesting him to come home. Right after he gets a call from his Mom she informs him his Dad is to step down from being Alpha.Plus his Uncle in America is requesting help. Cam does not want to be Alpha so he picks going to America to help his Uncle instead. When he gets there him and his fellow pack mates that went with him find things are really bad. (I should know better than that ) the characters are interesting, the budding relationships are a little peak I hope, at what's to come in the series and lots of wolfie hotness to keep a smile on your face.
When I read the write up for this book. I thought this was going to be a good series and now after reading The Reluctant Alpha, I KNOW it is.
The next book can't come soon enough for me.

So I am giving you a different genre I have reviewed, as with historical romance paranormal is my other go to genre especially vampires and werewolves, wolves being my favourite, so i was excited to read this series.
I am reviewing the series as a whole rather than individual books as the review for each book would be the same. You know me I don't give out anything to do with stories or plots just the book as a whole and my thoughts on it.
Ok so, I was lucky enough to get all copies of the book one to five. So it was great being able to dive into each story one after the other. Each story had its own story line and what i loved about it was that although there was no cliff hanger it continued from were it left off from the previous book, but continued on from the next couples story.
I loved each book and there stories. Although i did guess a tiny bit in some parts it didn't spoil anything for me. I still looked forward to the next book eagerly. I think the characters were well written and thought out, as were the plots. You can picture what the author is trying to describe to you. This was a very good read. It grabbed my attention from the start.
If you like paranormal genres then you need to add this to your "TBR" list.
I give this a 4/5 stars.

This was quite an enjoyable read. It had alot going on but not so much as to confuse the reader. Lots of funny and colorful characters. A interesting storyline, slight cliffhanger but nothing anger inducing.
I can't help but feel that Cam's uncle was stupid and selfish. He didn't think of his mnate, child or pack. He was just hellbent on revenge and was so blinded by his rage that he ignored all the warnings that Cam gave him against attacking Dupont alone... Well his stupidity got him gone and very gruesomely. I feel like at his age he should have known better...sighs. He wasn't thinking nor acting like a responsible alpha, though his loss was very sad. I didn't see that coming.
It was very confusing whenever someone had a mental thought as they were put in quotation marks as opposed to being written in italics. It made it seem as if that person was talking out loud more often than not. It was very frustrating trying to decipher what was a mental thought and what was spoken out loud.
Overall, an engaging enough story to keep the reader interested and invested in continuing with book two.

My oh my. This story was given to me to read so I gave it a try, am I’m glad I did. Cam is a sexy wolf who wants to just live a non-pack life and is doing it very by it. With his best friend Jinx by his side they can face anything. Cam’s sense of family and loyalty are very high vales that are needed to be Alpha except he doesn’t want it. The determination of these wolves to get to the bottom of all the drama shows how great they are as people and wolves. Cam has some great friends that he can count on in rough times of his life no matter what and that’s hard to find. The balance of drama and love in this book made it even better. This book kept me turning the pages just to see what will happen next. I started yelling at my kindle because the story stopped with so many questions that I need answered now please. Very good story that I can’t wait for the next installment.

One of the great things about reading one of Ava K Michaels books is that she has a way of writing a story so that you feel as if you're actually apart of it. The characters come alive in your own imagination and you can picture the scenery around you as well as feeling all the emotions. This book is no exception, it will grab your attention from page 1 right up until the very last word is read.

Absolutely loved this book.. I was provided with an arc and omg I so want more....
A fangtastic story of an alpha male who didn't want to be Alpha...
I enjoyed the change of POV's in this book and loved the whole storyline..
Oh I want to be part of the Highland Clan Pack.. Strong sexy wolves, who have the ability to protect against the bad, evil and wrong in their World.
I won't go into spoilers I want you to read it and enjoy it as much as I did...

The Highland Wolf Clan in America has suffered too many losses, so Cam takes some of his best men with him to help out.
This is the start of what I can see is going to be an addictive series. All the Highland Wolves are strong and sexy men. There is lots of action in human and wolf form. Some wonderful relationships are building. I can't wait for the next book.

Everyone AK Michaels has done it again!!! Highland Wolf Clan Series book 1 was an AMAZING read!! It has everything a book should have and not once did the storyline die down in any way. This book was funny, mysterious, exciting, loving, sadness, oh crap moments and of course some very sexy wolves!! One thing i look for when reading are mistakes and I can honestly say I can't remember even one mistake through the whole book! That in itself is amazing as there might be misspells, tiny punctuation errors but none that I can recall in this book. I can't wait to read the second book to this amazing series and I can honestly say I'm hooked and want more!! Great job Ava!!

I got this while it's free after hearing about it, I really wasn't disappointed what a brilliant read. This first in the series really sets you up for so many gripping stories, Cameron really has no intention of becoming the Alpha and distances himself from the clan to make a business completely away from them all but when he gets the urgent phone call to return home he has no other choice. The characters are amazing and with any great read they are strong and hot, Cam has to go help his uncle so he takes a few of his clan with him and this is where it all happens, so much action, romance, twists that will keep you reading and when you have finished leaves you wanting so much more.

Wow, this is a fun shifter story. The romance and adventure blend in just the right mix. Good thing it's a series since I know there is more to be told. There is a bit of a cliffhanger here so you have to get book 2. Not that I'm complaining about reading more about the Wolf Clan.

Wow!!! I love shifter books but sometimes there lacking.... This book is not lacking! You have Cam who was born to be an alpha but he wants no part of that half of his life. There's murder, love, intrigue etc..... I can't wait for the next book in this series!!!

Usually when you start a book, it is just one side of a story. This book starts out and then blends the other off shoot stories within. I like this writing style and I cannot wait to read more from this author.
