Humans are capable of the worst treachery.

We'd only just escaped the clutches of slavery when they came for him. My yeva, my other half, accused of going AWOL--abandoning his people. They took him from me, forced him to go to Earth to stand trial for his alleged crimes.

I had no choice but to follow. I could never leave him to face any danger alone. But in doing so, I revealed myself to those who hate aliens more than anything else in the universe--the United Planetary Council. They've accused me of treachery, conspiracy to destabilize the system, and they're out for blood.

Walter is convinced he can fix this from the inside, play the political game to clear our names, but I've learned a truth that will destroy all hope.

How can I save Kaidan, when it seems I cannot save myself?

Recalled is the third book in the Space Mage series, and it did not disappoint. Xiva is such good people--we don't deserve her. She and Kaidan escape the horrors of book two only to face something far worse: the humans of Earth. I knew it would not go well. Some surprising enemies pop up in this one, and we learn something very unexpected about one of my favorite characters. I hope Xiva gets a chance at some point at trying to improve things on Earth as she seems to be the only one who could. There's a lot up in the air at the end of this one, and I can't wait to see what happens next in book four.

Picking up strong and right where we left off. Kaidan is in custody with Xiva and Walter needing to find someway to get him freed. This book is shorter then the previous book which are the space mage series only flaw. But as this series continues to grow Izzy Shows definitely has a way of drawing you in and wanting more of this sci-fi fantasy. Wanting more of Kaidan who not long after arriving back on Earth escapes from the system who turned him into what he was and the rulers he has every reason to distrust. Wanting more of Xiva who after arriving on Earth as well is instantly distrusted and flees has no choice but to flee as well.
These two can never catch a break when it comes to trying to stay together. Much happens within this book in it's own way, some of what happens does seem to feel slightly scattered.
Such as Xiva helping out some humans which seems pretty irrelevant on account that that was so short. Then nearing the end Kaidans mind being altered for a short period of time. His feelings for Xiva to surpass the suggestion they put in his head by his other self and his deep feelings for her that they tried to bury. Or the whole Kaidan helping his ex with something that wasn't even his responsibility and after revealing his feelings. All of it just seemed overly scattered. Not confusing but scattered.
Though it's easy enough to understand that these developments will be critical in effecting the future of this story.
Kaidan falling into his rage will definitely function strongly in 'Exiled'. Plus the revealing of his feelings with Xiva and how that plus the loss of access to the yeva will also effect Xiva. It will most likely put her in a position to come to terms with how she feels for him because it's likely the only way to reach him by putting him in touch with his heart and mind. Ask for everything else such as what those two did to help others on Earth before their exile it will most likely play a part in whatever books may follow. Since one thing is clear, their enemy Nytoc has no desire to go anywhere and wishes to insure Xiva dies. Hope Walter can be their savior cause while I didn't much like how he acted in this book it's clear he's their strongest ally at the moment, though I do feel he may end up being a future loss.
This entry into the Space Mage series was definitely it's best so far providing thrills, romance, danger, and a bit of intrigue and I hope that Exiled is released soon.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is book three, highly recommend to read in order! Since this is the third book my review my have spoilers...As I won't hold back on my examples.
Let's start with the beginning of the book. I loved that it started right before the end of the last one. A little recap with added info, perfect! What can I say about these characters??!! Well for starters Kaiden and Xiva have definitely grown and spend less time in their heads. Reflection and problem solving is great just not on repeat. These two have grown past all that. Kaiden has had no love for the government, so it's as no surprise that he does not want to go with them. Somehow Walter convinces him to go and they will follow. That's the beginning of action, action, action, Because there is no way Kaiden will be locked up again.
Walter is in this book way more than the last one. Mysterious Walter. I knew that there was more to him. Even so he has a hard time getting things done the way he wanted. Makes you wonder why he was on a terraforming mission. Questions, questions questions...
So because things don't go so well Xiva goes on an adventure, not really a pleasant one. Earth is filled with purists. It doesn't matter what she had done, they still would hate her. Heal people of a sickness that everyone does from, still be hated. Earth is definitely dying and Xiva hurts for it.
An old foe that was thought to be gone...well isn't and that's the biggest problem. How oh how are they going to defeat him???? Especially since the end of the book was just not a good thing??!!! A couple of twists happen that were interesting yet easy to see through in my opinion. Still good to have them kept the story moving in interesting ways.
Can not wait for the next book!

This is the third book in the Space Mage series and picks up where Enslaved finished. Kaidan and Xiva are torn away from each other again and spend too much time apart for my liking. Their story is what I want to read about and though I understand that their separation is part of their story and the progression of their relationship, this one put me through the wringer and I can't stand it! Walter did not feature much in this book again either and I hope that he will play a greater role in Exiled. The plot did meander a bit randomly but I trust that all the separate threads will be pulled together in the next book (which appears to be the last one in the series, according to the blurb on the pre-order page).
As with all Izzy's books, this is well-written with good characters and you're never quite sure what is going to happen. This is a series best read in order as the story arc continues over each book.
I also recommend Izzy's Codex Blair series (ongoing) about a mage and her friends fighting supernatural foes in London and her Ruled by Blood series about werewolves and vampires and the blood mage that finds herself torn between them (completed).

Book 3 in this series and wow. Full of action and intrigue as well as mystery. I was pulled back into the story as if I had never left as it continues from the second book following the adventures of Xiva, Kaidan and Walter who are up against great odds. I can’t wait for the next book to come out to find out what else will befall them as their struggles continue. So many questions are racing in my mind...what will happen next. Would love to say what is running thru my mind but don’t want to provide any spoilers. Will just say that this is one of the best series I’ve read regarding space and mages. Unique and very well written.

This is book three in the Space Mage series and picks up right where book two left off. Just like the first two books in the series there is iplenty of mystery, action and intrigue packed in the pages which pulls you in. I can not wait to read the next book as there are plenty of unanswered questions that keep your mind wondering what will happen next. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book

I really enjoyed this book, which is the third of the Space Mage series. Loved the storyline which draws you in and keeps you reading with some twists and turns. I loved the character development of the main characters of Kaidan, Xiva and Walter. Much more is learnt about Walter in this book.
As with most of the books by this author, this is well written, creative and imaginative. Can't wait for the next book.

Riveting story. Great characters. Action packed. Entertaining. Twisted. Haunting. Tragic. Easy to read.

Xiva and Kaidan seem to have difficulty keeping themselves out of trouble. But, both of them are sincere in their desire to help humanity. Can Walter really fix things?

I was provided this book as an ARC by the author; however, the review is my honest opinion.
