“Say I am your new lord and master.”

The book is a highly erotic, but it is also full of triggers for many readers:

...and so much more in just 100 pages.

Wealthy aristocrat, Lucian, sees a girl in a field one day and decides he wants her. He follows her to a convent where he becomes her benefactor in anticipation of marrying her. Two years later and Corinne is woken in the middle of the night and married off to him, a man she'd never met.

This was not what I was expecting. Lucian's rigidity and distance wasn't a surprise for me. Corinne was adequately naive and innocent. But I did not see some of Lucian's preferences coming. *Not really SPOILERS but maybe some things you want to keep in the dark if you want to go in blind* Corinne must sleep in a crib, she must wear a nappy when she misbehaves, she must get a daily enema performed by her nanny, she must dress to look like a baby doll. etc. The book goes beyond daddy-dom games and into some weird fetishes about young girls. It was too disturbing for me. Plus, there's a very unique backdoor-to-mouth scene that was way too descriptive and haunted my dreams for nights after.

I mean, you have to read it to get my drift, but it's not your typical (if you can ever call it that) ATM. That's all I can say.

This is my first dark book. Well, I THOUGHT I had read some dark reads before; but apparently, I was wrong! Zoe is an absolute artist with her words. This book was her canvas and she used an amazing paint brush to stroke us through exactly what she wanted us to see and feel. And BOY did I feel a lot with this one!

Our main character, Corinne, has lived in the Abby since she was six years old when she lost her parents. At the age of 17, most are released into the real world, under some type of apprenticeship, in order to live on their own. However, Corinne caught the eye of a very attractive man, Lord Lucian Talon (who is a Duke!), who promises to return for her and become her benefactor. Of course Corinne is terrified, but she first lays eyes on the Lord, however, she is immediately mesmerized and begins feeling things she has always been taught is wrong. To Lucian, Corinne is a perfect little doll. And in his eyes, dolls can be played with, but manipulated to do what you want them to do. Corinne learns very quickly that she better listen to Lucian, or the consequences would not be in her best interest.

Riding through the emotions with this one had me on a roller coaster I wasn't prepared for. I felt for Corinne, but then when Papa (as he was to be called) kicked in, the scenes I read were so vivid, it had me on edge wanting to be bad to just see what would happen if I were Corrine. The eroticness of this book was off the chart. The heat was scorching and the characters were dynamic on so many levels. This is my first read from Zoe Blake, but I can assure you, it will NOT be the last!

1 no character development stars

Oooookay... what did I just read? So yes, by the title and very brief description, I knew this would be a DD/lg kind of read, but it went a lot further with that angle that I find at all interesting. Granted, the "daddy" genre isn't really my thing, but this was a freebie when I obtained it, and I LOVE juicy HRs, so I thought it would be worth the try, especially since the reviews I read were glowing. Aaaaaand I was wrong. There is absolutely nothing sexy about a man purchasing a woman from a nunnery, making her sleep in an actual nursery with a "larger sized" crib, and giving her painful enemas to "cleanse" her repeatedly in preparation for his debaucherous proclivities. The "sex" scenes did the opposite of nothing -- they were actually repellent as the "baby" was mostly only offered pain and total humiliation. And there was ZERO character development. I get that this was a shorter novel than the norm, but even in novellas, time must be taken for the reader to actually connect with the main characters --- there was none of that here, except that I felt bad for the main female character who was basically sold into an abusive and degrading situation. Even the "falling in love with him because he is a provider" idea didn't work in this one, nor did Stockholm Syndrome bc there was so little interaction between the 2 of them except for when his "needs" required her presence. I'm pretty sure they never even had a conversation other than her saying, "No" and him saying, "Too bad," so how on earth she could possibly have fallen in love with him is well beyond my comprehension.

If you enjoy violent and distasteful sex scenes between a cruel, rich duke and a terrified young maiden, this book is for you. If you like any element of romance in even the darkest of tales, this is not recommended. There is absolutely zero romantic element in this train wreck.

Dark Decadent and Intense…

“Papa’s Prey” is a riveting, dark historical romance with elements of non-con, dominance, humiliation, domestic discipline and objectification. This DD/lg. story is not for the faint of heart… the discipline is harsh, the heroine innocent and the trepidation quite intense. Extremely fast paced (I couldn’t put it down) and professionally written, readers are in for a captivatingly sadistic experience right from the start. The heroine is very identifiable and her innocence will capture your heart. The hero or antihero depending upon your perspective… is totally hot, wickedly dominant and completely redeemable...

Bottom line, if you enjoy dark historical romance or simply dark romance “Papa’s Prey is one of the best in its genre. Children 18+ only!

Corinne's an orphan, a ward, at L'etolie du Matin Abbey in Wales. She's sheltered, innocent, totally alone. She dreads being turned out of the abbey on her seventeenth birthday to become who knows what. So she's astonished when a mysterious benefactor appears, paying her expenses, allowing her to stay at the abbey. Why? She's no one, has no relatives. There's no one to take an interest in her. But nothing comes without cost. It takes two years for the payment to come due, but come due it does. Lucian Talon, Duke of Ebonhurst, is a lord of the realm. He's rich, handsome...and very used to taking exactly what he wants when he wants. The greater the challenge, the more Lucian wants it. And he's not above using whatever means necessary. Machiavellian? Absolutely! He's desired Corinne since the day he saw her. So beautiful. So innocent. He's waited, plotted, planned, for two long years. And he finally has what he wants. He and Corinne are soon married. But Corrine isn't prepared for life at Ebonhurst Castle. She's now Lucian's wife, his possession, his little doll. And she's horrified at Lucian's demands. Call him Papa? Live in a nursery? Punishment for any defiance, obstinance, disobedience? Lucian's commands become increasingly harder for Corinne to believe, much less accept. Is it possible for Corinne to come to terms with her new life? Why would she want to? Lucian is absolute master of her life. No, she's no longer stuck at the abbey. But Lord Lucian could just be the devil himself, and she may have just walked through the very gates of hell. As events unfold, and unforeseen calamity strikes, life thrusts entirely new roles on both Corinne and Lucian. Can Corrine survive in this new world? What about Lucian? Will he be satisfied once he has what he thinks he wants? Can he be satisfied with Corinne, or is she just a passing fancy? In the end, what could possibly hold these two together? The ends don't always justify the means. Is this a case where they just might?

This is the third Zoe Blake book I've read. I was enchanted by the first two. Ms. Blake is an excellent author of dark erotic romance. She writes with great passion and flair. When I started this book, I expected to love it as much as I did the prior two books. But I have to admit I struggled with Papa's Prey. I also have to admit that the reason for my struggle is due to my own issues with the level of age play in the book. I'm NOT condemning age play at all. One thing I absolutely love about the kink world is the open and accepting attitude of "your kink may not be my kink but it's all okay." That openness, honesty, lack of artifice or judgment is what draws me to that world. The difficulties I had with Papa's Prey are my own. I have no problem whatsoever with dubious consent or even non-consensual dominance in a fictional setting. But, to me, the age play in this book was extreme to the point where I couldn't get into the story. It was a real struggle for me to relate to Corinne and Lucian's relationship and the short time period in which it evolved. I know others have loved and rated this book highly. I think Ms. Blake is an outstanding author. She's knows her subject matter. It's very obvious she's done her research. And I absolutely intend to continue reading her books. But this book just wasn't my personal "cup of tea." It's a good book for anyone who enjoys this particular kink. I give Papa's Prey 4 stars for its authenticity, details, and research, as well as Ms. Blake's excellent writing abilities.

One final note. Please be an informed reader and consumer! This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and some very dark, nonconsensual/dubious consensual sexual scenes with age play involved. If you don't enjoy this genre, think hard before buying any book you know you won't enjoy. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and all booksellers' websites. Use these resources. DON'T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON'T ENJOY THE BOOK. It's not fair to the author. She works extremely hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you'll object to the book's subject matter before you buy it, you're doing yourself and the author an extreme disservice.

Thanks for reading my review and happy reading

This is a fast paced, well written novella of a man that claims a young woman from a convent in order to train her in his particular brand of kink. There is a feeling of dubious consent about it and he’s rather cruel and uncaring. However, the heroine does quickly come to appreciate his talents despite the fact that they scare her. I would’ve liked for the hero to have felt a bit warmer to her in the beginning, even if in his thoughts. This does end in a tidy little hea but no epilogue. Not my favorite but it kept my interest.

I’m not completely sure how I feel about this story. I like the historical components of the story, but the kink is a little creepy to me.

Both are consenting adults. I don’t want to say anymore as it may be perceived as spoilers. I can confirm the story is not about incest. The characters are not related.

This review is MY PERSONAL OPINION of this taboo story. My opinion should have ZERO INFLUENCE on your experience with this story.

So no rating for me... you know I love Zoe books this was the only book I hadn't read from her and i thought I'll give it a try.. I'm not into historical romance but I tried I made it pretty far but I'm DNFING when it got to crib/nursery and diaper play..I enjoy daddy kink but I don't vibe with that type of kink in my kinks. So yeah I'm stop. If your into that this might be a book for you.

Wow what a dark and dirty and thoughly delicious story, i absolutely adored the whole book from start to finish.
I reccommend though that people who DONT like dark stories or very dirty onces read my review or Zoe Blakes book. But to those who do..... feel free to read on.

Corinne has been in the Abby since she was the age of six , since her parents died. Then suddenly in the middle of the night her benefactor arrives she is hurriedly dressed in a gown brought to her from him. There in the Church she is first introduced to Lucian, and before she knows it she is marrying him, but she dosnt want that so she tries to runs away, this earns her, her first spanking.
Taking Corrine home Lucian shows her the mansion and introduces her to her nanny and her room ,which is so very childlike. Lucian also demands that she call him Papa and that she from now on will be his little girl.
Corinne soon learns that what Papa says goes she has to obey him. He makes her do all sorts of things, things that make her feel ashamed, but her body feels differently. Soon she realises the she is the prey and papa is the hunter.

Prey....

Is it bad I'm glad that the book wasn't another five or ten chapters? Don't get me wrong. It was an okay read. Just okay... I paused many times wondering when Corinne was going to grow a damn backbone. I didnt find Lucian who is known as Papa lovable. His needs went a little too far. I just couldn't do it.

Very Dark

I loved Lord Lucian and Corinne. Even though this couple had an unconventional relationship it worked for them. They both got what they wanted and needed. This book is really dark so don't go into it with anything else in mind. I would definitely recommend this book to like minded readers.

YOU ARE A TREASURE, MY DOLL

Once again, Ms. Zoe Blake has spun a tale that is dark, delicious, depraved, and daring. Having read every single book she has written, she did not fail to deliver with Papa’s Prey. The sheltered innocence and naïveté of Corrine are offset with the dark dominance and depraved proclivities of Lord Lucian.

I will strongly advise that if you have issues with non-consent, forced submission, age-play, controlled domination, and unequal power exchange, that you may want to forego this book. If you have read other stories by this author and enjoyed them, you will enjoy the ride. Because Corrine will be “bound to obey his every depraved desire.”

Corrine loses both parents to an epidemic and is placed in an Abby orphanage. When she was seventeen and about to be turned out and placed in a seamstress position, things change, and she will remain at the Abby under the care of the nuns. What she doesn’t know is that she has a benefactor who has paid for her care and will return for her someday.

Lord Lucian Talon saw the young, carefree Corrine along the moors, and when he inquired about her, he made arrangements for her care but demanded she no longer is allowed to run free. Now he has returned to the Abby to claim her as his, and she will be married without a say. She meets him at the altar, a dark foreboding man, to learn she is to be married to him. “His left (hand) bore the heavy signet ring. At this very moment, she felt like the flower, being crushed in the talons of the mighty Lord Talon.”

“You will remain my perfect little doll. An enjoyable plaything made solely for my pleasure. I shall keep you as a child, entirely dependent on me. Every piece of fabric that caresses your body. Every morsel of food which crosses your lips. The very air you breathe. You will owe everything to me, and you will repay me with complete obedience. I will see to it that your every waking thought is in giving pleasure to me.”

Corrine will be placed in a nursery under the care of her Nanny and instructed that she will address him as Papa. “Would the man she was to call Papa be the monster or the hero?” “Everything about him screamed power, aggression, and dominance. There was no hint of a gentleman.”

The story is one of forced dominance and control. There is no free-will, Corrine will become his to own, possess and control. “Like a shadow swallowing sunlight, something dark and primal rose in his breast. A need. A need to own. To corrupt. To defile. A fascination to turn such a delicate vessel of virtue into a submissive devotee of vice.” “Soon, little one, you will learn I can do whatever I please, especially to your body. My possession. My trophy.” “You can plead all you want, but your body aches for the pain. Craves it.”

The story is not a sweet romance; it is full of angst, confusion, passion, control, power, domination, submission, awakening, sadomasochism, pain, and pleasure. It involves ageplay,medical-play, pet-play, forced sexual acts of oral, vaginal and anal. It includes harsh punishments, the use of implements and sexual paraphilia.

Corrine will learn that from his control and inflicted pain; she can also find release and pleasure. “An aroused awareness. Of him. Of his touch. Of the pain. Of her body’s response.” “He was becoming a religion to her. A religion that demanded sacrifice and pain but promised a pleasurable reward. Her heathen god. Her master. Her Papa.”

This book is about Corinne she's grown up living with nuns until the day that her husband comes for her. Lucian knew Corinne was going to be his the moment he saw her. He comes for her one night at the abbey and makes her his bride. Corinne is fearful of this powerful man but is unable to escape him, Lucian wants to control and dominate her. Can Corinne survive her new husband?

This book was hot! I love non-con and daddy Doms and corruption fetish. This ticked all my box for the kinds of books I like. Lucian was a take charge man, he can do what he wants when he wants to Corinne because she belongs to him. Corinne is so confused and scared about all the things he's making her do but she can't escape because she only gets punished. I loved that she has a nanny she's strict but care about Corinne. The one part I didn't like about the book was the blowjob after anal that was too squicky for me but other than that I truly enjoyed the story. I loved how when Corinne got sick Lucian went a little crazy and wanted to help her. We get to see his gentler side and we get to find out that Corinne actually likes the things he does to her even if she does put up a fight. This book was just delicious a great read.

This was my first Zoe Blake book, and I'm not sure whether I should read another one. I want to, because the eroticism if off the charts, but I'm not so sure about the aspects of punishment, pain, and daddy kink. None of those things are a turn on for me. As a matter of fact, punishment and pain are not something I believe a man in love would do to his woman. But that's me.

Overall, the story made all my lady parts tingle...aside from the forced sex and agonizing punishment, the other aspects of their relationship were interesting. The playacting wasn't my bag, either, but I do know my own hubby appreciates a little role play. Though, dressing up like a little girl or a cat...not sexy, in my opinion. Grown men shouldn't be turned on my little girls. There's a philia named for it, and it isn't the good kind.

I wish there was more romance in the story and less pain, but I can see the appeal to dark "romance" readers. I might not have enjoyed this one for all the reasons I listed, but it was an eyeful that I won't soon forget.

Well written but lacking any emotional connection

The story was OK but I really didn't feel ANY connection between the characters. The emotion is also fairly limited, the scenes between Corinne and Lucian/Papa never developed on this. The love word was never used but a depth of caring was certainly implied, though only really shown on a couple of non-sexual occasions and never during their main interactions. (It was all very much 'blink and you'll miss it'). I read the entire book, so it wasn't a bad read, just not one I'd bother to read again. It's also a fairly quick read and definitely steamy.

I quite liked Corinne, she didn't seem to have much backbone BUT given how she was raised and her circumstances I guess she perhaps felt she didn't have many options. However at times she was a little too passive in both her actions and emotions. There was not really a genuine attempt to escape nor any real display of the fear and misery I'm sure would have been normal. following what was basically non-consensual disciplining and also non-con taking of her viriginity.

Until what felt like a very out of character personality change towards the end, Lucain was quite simply evil. I don't mind an anti-hero and in many ways I preferred that Lucian was horrible to Corinne rather than becoming a love smitten fool within two minutes. At least this book WAS genuinely dark. However given his kink, and the non/dubious consent nature of the book, to me he just felt like one massive pervert bordering on a paedophile. I get the DD/lg kink and have enjoyed other stories with it in, but combined with the forced nature it was more uncomfortable than sexy.

The book was too short for the author to convince me that Corinne genuinely enjoyed the forced role of being a "little". There also quite simply were not enough non-sexual encounters between Corinne and Papa. He'd taken her to be his sex toy, but with his wealth could have had these fantasies indulged without the need to take someone against their will. This only led to the conclusion that he WANTED the non-consent element and from that the follow on that he has to be mentally unbalanced. There was no 'reason' for his behaviour, no abuse in his past, no 'excuse' for what he did and that is at the core of why I can't recommend this book.

Great read if...you like erotic books, daddy dom play, historical romances, and an HEA.

Side Note: This was my first Zoe Blake book. I read the warning included and even so I wasn't prepared at all the stuff I got. I won't lie. This book did something impressive. It put me on the other side of my comfort zone. There were parts were I was just so uncomfortable I could hardly bare it, but I did. I kept reading. I wanted to see how everything would pan out, if she would break, if he would break, and I think that's a beautiful mark of a darker writer. They push you and contort you until you are so invested you can't stop until it all pans out for better or for worse. I love books with daddy play in them (Idk where it came from, lol, it's a recent thing I realize I like reading about haha) but this one at time was too much for me personally. Even with that, the entire process from possession to love was a journey well written, well executed and well received. Great job!

This is the first book I have read from this author. I was disappointed in the book. There was NO story. No back story. If you are looking for kinky sex scenes and that is basically what the book is. Then this is the book for you. If you want to know why the Lucian has the fetish he has you will not find out. There wasn't any depth to the characters.

This was sick. If I could rate it negative stars I would. There was no consent here. It was rape and abuse, plain and simple. He had NO redeeming qualities, and the end wasn't about love - it was Stockholm Syndrome.

Saya tahu bbrp penyimpangan seksual spt degradation, humiliation, prey-hunter dll.

Great Age Play Story

Such a wickedly fun age play romance! And excellent kink. Papa’s Prey was well written with a great story, making it a standout in its genre.
The Duke’s stern, intimidating, and dominant presence combined with Corrine’s innocent and bewildered craving was delightfully deviant.

D/l non-con/dub-con next level

Next level to an age play, as only one character seems to be the one to want this kink.

Was not for me and personally I feel there should have been more to the story than just the jump on every interaction was their play time, in the end the girl choose this to be hea.

This book was absolutely awful. I’m all for some out there kind of kink but this was just terrible. The H was truly despicable and did not deserve an hea, honestly was hoping the h would run away or he would die. There was nothing hot or sexy about this it was just straight up abuse, and it takes a lot for me to say that because I’ve read some pretty out there books.

This was yummy.

Wish it was a novel so we could learn more about the relationship dynamic and see how it grows, but it was a nice piece of smut without it.
