This is one of my favorite books in the library.

There's a great section of recipes (yawn!), a wonderful selection of corny cannibal jokes (giggle! snort!), and several short stories as well as an introduction regarding cannibalism throughout the world and history.

I already knew most of the information in the introduction, but it was still entertaining reading. Most of the stories are actually pretty good, though a few aren't so great. They start off with the less gruesome stories for those that are concerned about how detailed it will get. There are only a couple of stories that are really descriptive, so this is still a good read, even for the faint of heart.

The best part of this book, in my opinion, is that it's interactive. Before you begin reading the short stories, they set up a murder scene for you. You get plenty of clues! Then, as you read through the short stories, you have to try to figure out which author was the culprit. It's great fun and I'm excited to say that I guessed correctly!

If cannibals are your thing, you should already have this in your library. Even though I'm not a short story fan, I thoroughly enjoyed every page in this book. If cannibals aren't your thing but you do enjoy mysteries or thrillers, you'll probably get a lot of enjoyment out of it anyway. The stories all tackle different forms and reasons for cannibalism, so it's great at giving perspective to those who enjoy different types of stories.
