Wild & Wise is not merely a collection of guided meditations, but a potent tool for personal and global transformation. The meditations within beckon you to explore the powerful realm of symbolism and archetypes, inviting you to access your wild and wise inner knowing. These compelling meditations are suitable for reflective reading, or to facilitate healing and empowerment for women who gather in red tents, moon lodges, women’s circles and ceremonies. Part The Sacred Feminine is comprised of thirteen meditations, inviting you to dive deep into the feminine psyche and catalyze healing. Meditations Coming Home, The Power of No, Hunger, Your Inner Warrior and The Mother Code. Part Your Inner Goddess is comprised of thirteen goddess-centered meditations from many traditions around the world, inviting you to connect with and cultivate the qualities each goddess embodies. Meditations Artemis (authenticity), Brigid (inspiration), Sekhmet (rage), Durga (boundaries), Gwenhwyfar (sovereignty), and Lakshmi (abundance). Part The Wheel of the Year is comprised of five seasonal meditations, marking the cycles of life. Meditations Rebirth and Renewal (spring), Tending Your Garden (summer), Preparing for the Dark (autumn), and Winter Spiral (winter).
In a world where women are made to feel less than, Wild & Wise takes you a journey to reclaim yourself and rise above societies expectations. Amy Bammel Wilding has dedicated her life to holding a sacred space for women to find themselves and honor their sacred feminine. Amy's meditations have greatly changed my life and they have helped me grow through the pain of my past. Wild & Wise bring us closer to our inner strength and reminds us just how divine we all are. I cannot recommend this book enough! It is truly beautiful and great for Goddesses of all ages!
A tremendous resource for Red Tents, women’s retreats, rituals, and ceremonies, I deeply appreciate the dedicated focus of Wild and Wise on meditations for women’s circles. The clarity and focus makes this book exactly what you would expect from the title and perfectly fills the niche for which it is intended. Rather than trying to be a comprehensive resource book, it is specifically intended for a single purpose—a dedicated compendium of insightful, potent, richly descriptive visual journeys, designed to take women into the heart of themselves.
Wild and Wise includes the added benefit of a series of targeted, exploratory questions after each meditation, perfect for use for group discussion in circle and/or for personal journaling/processing.
The meditations in this book are organized into three sections. The first section is about the Sacred Feminine and includes powerful and timely meditations such as “the power of no” and “the mother code.” The second section, The Inner Goddess, offers the opportunity to meet 12 goddesses from a variety of cultures and connects each goddess to a theme relevant to the lives of modern women. The third section, The Wheel of the Year, offers a seasonally thematic energetic meditation for six different holidays around the wheel.
This wasn’t so much a story but a collection of meditations. Some were better than others but I liked the journal/ discussion questions at the end of each meditation. She made some assumptions about what women have been told and experienced, especially in the beginning and asked what culture had projected on to us. It seemed a bit like the author was projecting the message she received as the universal and didn’t see that asking us to question certain (though not all) projections were her own projections about society. This didn’t take away much from the meditations or the reflections on them but it felt a little odd at times. Overall this was a nice collection of meditations and many I will revisit but some weren’t for me.
The content is spectacular. The author suggests recording each meditation. I think that's a great idea, because you can't really meditate while you're reading the instructions. Therein lies the weakness of this collection for individuals. But a group leader could easily read these as the group members meditate. For that purpose, I highly recommend this book!
This book has been a transformative journey for myself and getting adjusted to the new responsibility of motherhood. I so appreciate the inspiring words of encouragement continuously pulling me through to another new day time and time again with just the right meditation.
I highly recommend getting the audiobook of this to follow along to the meditations. The meditations are lovely and a great introduction to archetypal goddesses for those just getting into feminine spirituality. The meditations are amazing to do either alone or with friends or loved ones.
