Assistant District Attorney Damien Parnell leads a double life above and beyond his membership with the Indigo Knights. Driven by dark desires considered shameful by most, he covets the one thing he can’t allow himself to have – a real relationship. Enter Ally Blaylock, an innocent by Yale’s standards. She’s the sweet and beautiful girl who makes his coffee at the café across the street from his office. She’s done her best to flirt off and on with the high powered attorney and he can’t help but be drawn to her whimsical charm. When Ally finds her world tipped on its axis, Yale goes against his better judgment and offers her some unlikely help. He knows better than most that the road to hell is paved with good intentions, but in this particular case, could it be the opposite? Could Allison Blaylock be the start down the road to his salvation?
A.J. Downey is a Pacific Northwest girl living in an East Tennessee world who finds inspiration from her surroundings, through the people she meets, and likely as a byproduct of way too much caffeine. She specializes in real and relatable romance stories featuring that real-life kind of love that everyone craves.
She has you on the edge of your seat with every book she has written and this one is no different.
I believe His Cold Blue Command is different from previous books because there wasnt murder and mayhem, with saying that I still was not disappointed in this installment.
This book focused more on the relationship side but still was not able to put it down, and has left me with alot more questions that im sure will be answered as the series continues.
I feel in love with both main Characters Yale and Ally, even the secondary characters made a strong impression
Who knew Yale had a caring heart??? I didn't think it possible. In book one he came off as a tough DA with unclimbable walls and a cold cold heart. He has issues that have him thinking less of himself. But his biker brothers know better and so does someone else.
Yale likes coffee. He runs to the cafe across the street enough to prove it. Of course there is an anterior motive and her name is Ally. He is drawn to her like a moth to a flame.
If you are expecting some kind of evil out to destroy someone this book is not for you, unless you consider Yale's self destruction. This was a romance, going through all the steps to love, belonging, excepting.
Looking for a HEA, a plot, and intriguing storyline then this is the book for you. I used to think submission was not my cup of tea however I know love it in a story. That power exchange, the ability to turn it all over to someone else is appealing. Damien and Ally are tangible in this story and draw you in for the length of the book. I wanted more but not in the sense that you are left hanging. It has more to do with by the end you are invested in the story. AJ Downey did again.
Loved the storyline. I think they make a great couple. I can't wait to read the next story. I hope Dawnie gets a book as well. I wonder about the lady Backdraft took off. Great series!! I hope we have lots more. Only thing is I think it needs to be edited again look Like lots of words had been marked out with a line through them. Was little annoying to read like that. Maybe the wrong file had been uploaded..
Omg I was drawn in from the very beginning and couldn't put this book down! Yale& Ally's story was truly amazing! Yale quickly became her home her safe place, while she become everything he needed. The dom / sub relationship between them was beautifully written. This series is completely amazing and I can't wait to see what happens next!
I've read nearly every book by this author because I adore her stories, but I think this is probably my favorite. I love Yale, the perfectly imperfect person that he is, and how flawed he is. I also love Ally and her desire to find the good in everyone. I don't know if I will find another character who will hot me like they do.
Oh my was this book hot! I loved that Ally touched something in Yale that caused him to reach for something that he never thought he was able to have. I liked Ally's interaction with the brothers, I really liked Dawnie as well. There were a couple of threads woven into this story that I look forward to seeing where they go. The more books I read by Ms Downey the more I love her writing.
Yale and Ally, Wow!!!!! This book blew me the hell away!!! I absolutely flove it!!! The connection between the two of them is phenomenal, so powerful, just so complete!!!! It is so brilliantly written! A must read!
WARNING: d/s & bdsm By the first chapter I figured out what his "deviant/dark" thoughts were. Don't really care about the d/s doesn't feel as good as book 1. The bit about the women that looks familiar to Ally, was that a nod to her #SecretSquirrelProject she spoke of?
This book was not interesting at all. Felt like the Author was just writing words to fill up a page. I found my self skipping pages and at one point wanted to give up on it. Her other earlier books were much more interesting.
2 stars if I knew this was BDSM book I would never have bought it. But I found this author and just went and bought most of her books. The first book was great so I automatically bought this one with no indication that it wasn't just like the first book.My
Actually, if you like a book with loads of sex and little story, this would be for you. The characterisation had no depth, and personally I thought it was really disappointing. I doubt if I'll try any more books in this series.
Ms Downey is an incredible talent! I love her storytelling, and I've read several books from different series, and I've enjoyed reading everyone of the series😘 look forward to reading more!
Loved this book. The main character is a tough DA who at first think he is cold. But he soon shows he has a heart as he helps his girl through difficult times ahead
I loved this book not your normal mc read but still a great read Yale and ally were made for each other I would say light BDSM write well on to the next one
This was somewhat reminiscent of 50 Shades of Grey, but to me it was even more contrived. I found it cringe-worthy, & rather predictable. I liked Yale in the first book of the series, but Mr.Parnell/Yale had a “little man/NapoleonComplex” that explained his need for control and dominance, but was clearly an overcompensation, which made him smarmy & unattractive. Ally was gullible, immature, and an easy mark for a wanna-be dominant interested in “playing” head games, & sexual games. I was really disappointed in this book, and wish I hadn’t even read the 35% that I did~Yuck!
