Reiko Shimizu (清水玲子 Shimizu Reiko, born March 26, 1963 in Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese shōjo manga writer and illustrator. She made her professional debut in 1983 with Sansaro Monogatari in LaLa, and has written primarily for the publisher Hakusensha. She is noted for her works of science fiction and her art style, and is also known for her illustrations of tarot cards called the Miracle Tarot deck.

Shona no le tiene miedo a la funa porque él solito se funa. Cada tomo se siente mejor que el anterior, qué emoción.

Melodrama abounds in this one.
The volume starts off with Gil, now possessed by Teruto (after he made a pact with the sea witch - save Seth and he'' destroy the world for her). 'Gil' connects with his sister's older and clairvoyant teacher much to the sister's annoyance - shades of incest? hmmmmmm.
Seth passes out and gets picked up be Shonarch. More love triangles as Seth begins to fall for Shonarch who only has eyes for his brother Jimmy.
Then we have Jimmy in love with Art - who prefers holly....
This volume is quite slow as it's all about the various relationships. There's very little plot advancement or mermaid action. It does ask some nice questions - Jimmy 'the ugly duckling' - boy who will become a beautiful woman asks why no one will love him in his present state.
I'd be really interested to see what happens when Gil and Seth come face to face. Will Seth recognise his brother?
Nice artwork and a fascinating story with plenty of twists and turns.

More characters are fleshed out or introduced in this volume, which expands the borders of this already peculiar story. The fishbone panels are my single favourite thing.
