Wake Up Call

Ellis O Day La Petite Mort Club, Six Nights of Sin Bks 1-6

4.5 stars - Nick, Nick, Nick.... Whatever shall we do with you? The fact that Ethan answers his crazy calls is amazing.

Sarah: “Good boy.” Her eyes sparkled at him.

Nick: “I’m not a boy or a damn dog. Get back over here.” He was about done with this. If he didn’t get out of his pants soon his dick was going to have zipper prints permanently embedded in it.

Oh, how I love the push and pull, pull and push between these two! Their chemistry explodes off the pages, and they are incredibly entertaining. Well, when Nick isn't acting like a petulant child. 🤣🤣

I read this years ago. I enjoyed this as part of the Six Nights Of Sin, The Complete Series audio book, and occasionally followed along in the book for this re-read. The narrators are Robert Hatchet and Dahlia Lynde. I always enjoy Robert, especially as Nick. I think this is my first time listening to Dahlia, and I like her as Sarah.

Story: 4.5 stars

I guess I should have assumed the role reversal was coming - Sarah says in the first story she wants a lover who wants to dominate and be dominated. Her matchmaker was as puzzled as I was, and the last thing I imagined was that lover Nick, who's pushy and domineering, could possibly assume the role of a submissive. That seems to be the point, that it's awkward and frustrating as hell for Nick who's used to being in control, but he lets Sarah take the reins, because he wants her any way he can have her. Hmm. Definitely not what I was expecting as the story opens with Nick, ready to break their contract over Sarah "disappearing" on him at 5 in the morning. Sarah has a past - we still haven't gotten the full story there, nor do we know anything whatsoever about Nick, apart from the fact that he can make a major role reversal, which felt very much out of left field and was, as far as this hard-headed alpha hero is concerned, kind of a letdown. I still like this couple and I'm hoping they can get back to business as usual. Let's see what's in store for Nick and Sarah in book 3!

I'm going to have to get my old thesaurus out to find more synonyms for hot, steamy, spicey. The Second Interview was even MORE. More everything, more chemistry, more combustion, more feelings, the list is too long to enumerate. This Series of shorts will have to be finished before this girl gets another good nights' sleep. Ellis O. Day is now my number one author to watch for new publications from. And that's saying something, having climbed over some pretty heavy hitters of the romance genre's greats.

I don't leave synopsis of the books plot as the author's blurb can do that better then I, nor do I post spoilers out of respect for future readers' right to experience fully the surprises that each individual book delivers.

I received an advanced reader copy(ARC) of this book and voluntarily left posted review.

Sarah was so nervous meeting Nick at the hotel. She wanted to talk and get to know each other, Nick wanted to get right to it until he realized Sarah wasn't acting out a fantasy. She truly was scared and this was her first time doing something like this.
Ellis O. Day didn't gloss over the emotions each of her characters were feeling. Instead, she gave them full reign and as a reader, I could appreciate Sarah's fear along with Nick's curtness at the beginning, then his accepting her fear until finally he had a compassion for her that allowed them to find a way to get past it. Until Sarah sneaks out at 4am leaving a note saying she'll see him next week. Now Nick wants the contract renegotiated or he's cancelling. Truly a wonderful book with terrific scenes.

Book Two continues from where the cliffhanger in Book one left off.
Nick wakes up Sunday morning ready for action. He is furious when he finds Sarah gone. In his view, their night is not over yet. He rings Ethan complaining and wanting to cancel their contract. He relents deciding he gets to call the shots this time on their contract. Since Sarah got all her way on the last contract. The chemistry between Nick and Sarah really hots up in this book compared to book one.
Once again this book ends in a cliffhanger. Fortunately, the whole series of books is out, so there's no waiting around for the next book in the series

This second book in the series heats up with Sarah and Nick's first night together, but Nick wants more than she's willing or able to give. Day is quite talented with showing the fiery chemistry between this pair, especially with a book this short. The story is erotic and it is very well done. This isn't steam just for the sake of steam - there's a story here and this second installment is just touching on the surface of it. The writing is compelling and draws the reader in, holding you there until the very last page, which leaves you wanting more.
If you enjoy Erotic Romance, this is a must read.

"Taking Control" continues with Hawtness between Nick & Sarah. We continue to learn a little bit about Sarah's past. After their first night together Sarah finds herself sneaking out at 4 am. When Nick wakes up, he finds himself alone and he's NOT very happy. He calls Ethan to let him know he needs to renegotiate the contract with Sarah. I was fortunate to catch this series on sale for the amazing price of 99 pennies. I'm looking forward to finding out what happens after book 6. If you enjoy stories with light BDSM and a lot of hot sex THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU!!

“Taking Control” is the second short story in the series, and while I enjoyed it, I could only give it 3 stars simply because of how short it was.

I think it’s around 30 pages, and it ends really abruptly, which left me wanting a bit more development and buildup.

That said, it’s still a quick, easy read that keeps the momentum going in the series. I’ll definitely keep going, but I do wish this one had just a little more to it.

Wow! This series just keeps getting hotter! I love the chemistry between Sarah and Nick! Will one mistake from Sarah cause Nick to cancel their contact, or can they agree on a compromise that will benefit both of them? I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

Taking Control by Ellis O. Day was another great quick read in the series. Sarah and Nick had an incredible night together. Sarah is shocked when Ethan calls and says that Nick wants to meet up immediately or cancel their contract. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

I got this book in exchange for a voluntary review. In this book, Nick and Sarah renegotiate their contract for sex. The author makes a smooth transition from book one. This book is interesting as both characters become more real to the reader.

I read the free copy of this and then bought many of the other La Petite Mort Club books. The sex is steaming hot, but the great thing about these stories is that the characters are so well-drawn that you care about them and want to know what happens to them

Plenty of spice with a very good plot. It's wonderful to have a truly good author in a genre where many are subpar. With Ellis O. Day you get lots of sexy scenes in a book with a real plot and fully-fledged characters.

Sarah's next step on her journey

Sarah has renegotiated the contract. Nick and Sarah are seeing each other more than once per week. She tries to play domme this time. You'll have to read the book for how it turned out.

Absolutely delicious!!

This series is fascinating! Both Sarah and Ethan have their own reasons for why they are where they are, and neither feels like sharing the information. Guess I’ll have to wait and see what Book 3 brings!!!

Taking Control

Well we are getting somewhere but it is a bit slow. They were unraveling together. The heat and passion of this second scene was on point.

short and steamy

These books are too short. They need to be much longer. They are a chapter not a whole book. Very frustrating as a reader.

I loved the content, but its just too short. Instead of giving the first chapter or 2 of the next books please would rather you have written more to the series. Very spicy and on que with the title.
