Frankenstein

Frankenstein, first published in 1818, is widely recognized as being one of the first "science fiction" novels. Starring Michael Maloney as Frankenstein and John Wood as the Creature, this spine-tingling dramatization perfectly conveys the book's pervasive sense of unease and dread.

Victor Frankenstein, an ambitious young scientist and seeker of knowledge, considers it the pinnacle of his career when he makes a Creature in his own name. But his triumph soon turns to horror, and he is appalled when the Creature, denied a female counterpart, turns against his creator and commits a terrible crime.

In a desperate attempt to destroy his creation, the scientist tracks him from Europe to the desolate North Pole, and in this bleak landscape of ice and fog, prepares to confront his nemesis. . .

This CD release includes an introductory sleeve note recounting the making of the radio adaptation, written by Andrew Pixley.

Resenha da dramatização da BBC.

Sim!

2 hour full cast radio adaptation of Mary Shelly's gothic classic, first broadcast in 1994.

This is an absolutely cracking adaptation that kept me fully engaged for its full run time and really brought life to the characters.

Excellent stuff.

I think I'm not a fan of dramatized versions of books, but a lot of the classics my library has are only those editions unfortunately. Thought it was an interesting story though and I think I'll physically read the book eventually.

A well done production but really wish it had been unabridged. Lots of the story was lost.
