4.5 "Empowering Sub Acting Lessons" for the story and 5 "Sexy Dom" Stars for the narration!

Lovers of BDSM Club romances will not want to miss Richard's Reign. Sporting all of the dominant/submissive spellbinding pleasures of this sub genre plus a commanding, sexy performance by Aaron Shedlock, this is a quick, novella length, satisfying listen that is perfect for audiobook fans.

For those of you who are wondering if this sixth book in the Enthrall Sessions can be read as a standalone: yes it can. In fact this is the only book I've read or listened to in this series. While there is definitely a feeling that some of the characters have been introduced previously, the author does a great job of providing backgrounds and the romance between the two primary characters is fully contained within this book.

Richard Booth is at a crossroads. Having just given up his submissive to his best friend, who also runs the elite BDSM club, Enthrall, where he is a senior Dom, Richard feels at a loss when his paths cross with an A list actress, Andrea Buckingham, who is looking for coaching for her next role as a submissive.

Richard doesn't do untrained subs--which is part of the reason why he lost his last one to his best friend--and has his own family demons which keep him wanting to stay very much out of the spotlight that such a well known celebrity would undoubtedly cast him into. But when he tries his best to get himself out of the assignment and Andrea keeps breaking his rules to force herself upon him, Richard finds that this may just be the assignment to break him out of his rut. But can a submissive training assignment with a spoiled actress, who doesn't know the first thing about submitting, ever possibly turn in to a HEA?

This was my first experience with Aaron Shedlock and I was very impressed. He has the perfect soothing, deep voice to play Richard's part. Moreover, he produces distinguishable voices for each one of the many characters in this book. And perhaps the most surprising for a narrator who can do sexy male voices do well is that his female voices were also very well done and genuine sounding in tone.

All in all, Richard's a Reign was an enjoyable, provocative listen, and I look forward to exploring more by both this author and narrator in the future.

5 Insatiable Stars!
This one will consume you! And you will devour it! Intelligent and seductive, Vanessa Fewings has once again created an unforgettable story!

The Review:
Richard, Cameron and Mia. Their story? Two men who are more than brothers and one woman who would Enthrall them both. But ultimately, only one would win Mia’s heart and command her body.

I’m Team Cameron. It’s no secret and it’s really kind of an obsessive addiction. The man is fine! I’ve loved him since the moment he stepped on page in book one. Even with an exciting look into that perfectly brilliant mind of his, with his own two novellas, I still find him an incredible mystery. He is perfect for Mia in every way. No one could command her so completely, as he could. I felt it from the first time they interacted with one another.

And then there’s Richard. I’ve always loved him but I could never see past Cameron to fully understand Richard’s indelible charms. So when there was word that he would get his own novella, I was beyond thrilled to get a closer look at what made up his character. Plus, I am ALWAYS up for a Vanessa Fewings book. She is one of my favorite authors, ever! Her clever and sexy writing always inspires, as it did this time. She presented a new Richard and proceeded to carve out a place in my heart for him, and through this novella and his POV, I have seen just how remarkable the man is.

Like the series, I LOVED this book!

Story/Characters...
Richard had been at Mia’s side since the beginning of this series, as her love interest and intended long term relationship, set up by the delectable Dr. Cameron Cole, Richards best friend. But as their story unfolded, and through his inability to let his walls down and give her what she needed, it was clear to Richard where Mia’s heart and soul truly lay. So Richard lets her go and now he’s once again sporting a battle weary, broken heart. He may not be looking for commitment but he is looking for a distraction and the enchanting and beautiful Andrea Buckingham, Hollywood's A-list movie star, could be just what he needs.

Andrea needs coaching for the role of a lifetime. And she needs Richard's expertise in the world of domination and submission, to help her with her goal. But Andrea also needs to find herself and find her strength. She’s hoping Richard will guide her to her awakening.

Richard’s aversion to training inexperienced submissives lead to him losing the woman he loved, so it’s no wonder he’s reluctant to take on Andrea, whose inexperience and naivety shine bright. But Andrea is more than capable of kneeling to the occasion. I loved her character. Though she didn’t feel self assured, her personality and actions showed just how strong and unbreakable she really was. And her fortitude made her Richard's perfect match. With her courage, he could truly let himself go. It was clear after this read, why Mia and Richard were destined for failure and why in the end, he had to give her up.

Richard and Andrea were sensational together as Richard guides her into his world. Thier story is one of healing as she finds sweet surrender in the unknown and he finds something he thought lost to him forever... love. His gentle but firm guidance of Andrea on the heels of his heartbreak was indulgent but genuine. He exudes a confidence previously unseen and proves his demanding ego’s worth. As stated before, I always cared about Richard's character but the author pushes his boundaries in this read. She made him more competent, gave him more depth and infused a vulnerability not before shown, shining a light on his passionate side and his courageous side, all of which allows the barriers he’s erected around his heart and psyche to slowly fall away while taking Andrea under his tutelage and immersing her swiftly into the erotic world of BDSM. These things combined, not only made me love him, but ADORE him!

The Wrap Up:
Richard’s Reign is Richard’s conclusion, in his POV. We get to see things from his perspective, indulge in his thoughts and feel his true character. The author takes us back to the world of the elite and forbidden, playing out dark fantasies and the stimulating lifestyle that is Enthrall.

I also enjoyed the melding of both worlds as this book briefly revisits Richards scenes with Mia and Cameron from Cameron’s novellas, focusing on Richard's time in between. It was a nice way to round out the storyline. I’m going to miss these characters more than I can express. One can hope there might be future novellas, but if not, the author ended everything on the best note, giving all the characters a life to be envious of.

Do I suggest this book? Hell yeah. Do I suggest this entire series? Without a doubt! And I’ll shamelessly promote this series anytime I can. It’s just that amazing!

description

I've always made a point of tirelessly recommending this series to anybody who needs something sexy and addictive to read. It's also no secret I have always been team Cameron, and never swayed in my devotion to the dark, sexy, and stupidly clever Dom. So when it came to Richard's story, I was inquisitive of course, Richard is a great character, and I wanted to see more of him. But I was also a little nervous to read the story without Cameron's presence.

I very rarely like books with actors and actresses in the story. It's not a subject I have any interest in at all, so I did wonder what that was going to be like. I need not have been worried. Vanessa Fewings faultless storytelling kept me hooked, as I knew it would.

Andrea Buckingham, up and coming actress of the minute, takes her craft seriously, and her latest role is in jeopardy if she can't be convincing, and make the audience believe. She needs the help of an expert in a certain area, but being nervous about the topic she needs help with, means needing somebody discreet and good at what they do. Someone who will also break down some personal doors for her.

Andrea pursues Richard Booth. Senior Dominant at elite BDSM club Enthrall. After being told he is one of the very best. She soon finds out why Richard's name was passed on to her. Richard brings out a different side in Andrea, and teaches her things about herself she never would've dreamed of doing or feeling.

After losing Mia, Richard never expected to feel the way he does, around anyone. He didn't want to take on Andrea, didn't want another woman that needs to be trained. After his last sub, he doesn't want to do it again. But Andrea pleads, and Richard, who is curious, gives in.

I'd been a shipwreck caught in the storm.
Through Andrea I'd found safe harbor.

This novella is obviously based on someone who is new to the BDSM scene. So we get to see what Richard does best, show the readers a side of that world, that leaves us totally enraptured, and addicted to the story. It's shown to Andrea in a way that entices her, and leaves her wanting more, and of course us too.
This is obviously down to the incredible writing of Vanessa Fewings, and the amazing world she has built throughout the Enthrall Sessions series. I will never tire of anything that is connected to Enthrall, this is obvious in the fact that, even with Cameron missing from the story mostly, I still loved every minute. I was scared that without the presence of Cameron, who is a character who literally steals the pages, that I would find the story lacking in some way. I couldn't of been more wrong. Richard holds his own as another sexy, additive Dominant, that has me wanting more.

The fact that Richard's story was spread over just one novella, meant that the pace was sharp, snappy, and completely gripping. The heat within this particular chapter in the Enthrall sessions is on top form. It's smoldering, and intense as it always is in Vanessa's books.

I think if I had never read any of the books in this series, prior to Richard's Reign, I would've been completely hooked, and probably would of been madly in love with Richard. His story was fantastic, and he certainly gives Cameron a run for his money. But, I am loyal and will keep my fingers permanently crossed that we haven't seen the last of Cameron. I also hope there is more to come from this dark and delicious world.

Richard's Reign is without a doubt highly recommended. With or without the rest of the series. It is deliciously addictive, and clever. Another look into the world of those who like to play hard, and have the money to do it in style.

Not allowing myself to love had been the darkest of all betrayals. A decision forced by my own hand, no less.

I really enjoyed Richard's Reign. Richard and Andrea made a beautiful couple, even if their relationship is a little unconventional. Yet that just made me love them even more. The some of the sex scenes were through the roof hot. I was sure my kindle was going to catch on fire a few times. I'm so glad that they got their happy ending after everything that they had both being through.

While it can be read as a standalone, I may have enjoyed it more if I had read the book in order. It would have help me better understand the relationships between the characters and where they were coming from. Things were mentioned about the characters pasts and at times I was wishing that I had read the others in the series just so I was as in the dark about who they really were.

I received an ARC e-book copy of this book from The Book Enthusiast for an honest review.

I have been a fan of Vanessa Fewings for only a short time but her books never fail to draw me in. All of the Enthrall series has done that up until this point. I very much enjoyed the read but Richard did not capture my attention the way Cameron and Mia did. I loved Andrea! Her reference to watching the Doctor Who series made me smile and fall in love with her instantly.

Richard has always been a character that has been hard for me to feel any empathy toward. His story is sad, his father was involved in a Ponzi scheme that ruined many lives, including Richard’s but I always felt that he came across as a spoiled brat. It was no different in this book. Yes I get that he lost a girl he thought he loved to another man but had he really loved her and wanted to be with her he would have trained her himself in my opinion.

That’s what makes his relationship with Andrea more interesting for me, he finally did find someone that sparked enough interest for him and created a big enough challenge that he felt drawn to train her for himself. He fights himself along the way because of the way he emotional restricts himself from everyone but Cameron Cole. You can see Richard growing in this book and I hope that continues with future books.
Andrea is a fireball. She’s sensitive and sheltered from her upbringing up so willing to grow beyond that and it makes you cheer for her though out the book. She is what kept me reading the book until the very end. I actually feel that Richard was more drawn to her because she did come from the same background that he did in terms of money so he couldn’t make her feel insecure for being less….if that makes sense.

I enjoyed the chemistry between the two characters and felt the sizzle with each page. Andrea inspires Richard and I think he needs that in someone besides his best friend. She helped him move into a new chapter in his life and that endeared Richard to me a little more.

I definitely recommend this book to all ENTHRALL lovers but I must caution going into the book looking for the same feelings you may have experienced reading about Cameron and Mia. Richard and Andrea have a different relationship and it does take some getting used to in the beginning. I give the book 4 stars.

Only a professional could step into this role of a lifetime.

Richard...I found it hard not to like him. He was a true friend and he too had experienced pain and loss. So when he was finally ready to open his heart and find love, I was pulling for him. His submissive, his match, would be a tall order, and Mia was a tough act to follow.

Richard’s Reign was yet another captivating book in the continuing Enthrall Series. I couldn’t wait to see what fate the author would give the third main character of this series. The book opens with Richard, a senior dominant at Enthrall a BDSM club, breaking off his D/s relationship with Mia. Beautiful sweet submissive Mia, try as she might, could never give him her complete love and submission because she was deeply in love with his best friend Cole. Richard loved Cole like no other and because he knew that Cole loved Mia beyond anything else in his life, he was willing to give her up; although, in his heart he knew that “you can’t give something that was never yours to begin with.” Bottom line, he never would have the love from Mia that he so desperately craved.

Richard was a mess inside; his insecurities about his family always on the surface ready to consume him combining with the loss of his submissive had all his thoughts jumbled in his head. The adrenaline junkie that he is had him doing things that could kill him, but he always looked at death in the face and laughed. But then a proposition of sorts is presented to him. Andrea Buckingham, A-list actress summons him because she needs his expertise about a scene that she is filming in her latest movie. He knew that he had met her once before and was intrigued to know what she wanted. When he found out he was a little bit shocked, intrigued, sexually attracted and totally stimulated because she wanted to hire him for two weeks so he could teach her all about the art of submission, and what exactly is “subspace”!!

Like manna from heaven, because Andrea was like Mia in so many ways, sweet, innocent to the ways of BDSM, willing to learn, but in that Mia could never be a submissive the way Richard wants and needs, he saw immediately that Andrea had all the submissive qualities that could be exactly what he wanted. He thought this would be the perfect way to transition from the heartache of giving Mia to Cole and it was only for two weeks!

During those weeks Richard’s thoughts were always on Andrea and hers on him. Could they actually say good bye at the end of the two weeks!! The chemistry they shared together was not like anything he had ever felt before. As their beautiful story unfolds you can feel the love and desire that they both feel for each other. The sex as with all Vanessa Fewings books is hot, erotic, dirty, and sexy!!! I am so sad to see the Enthrall Series come to an end with this final book. The writing is magnificent and no detail is left unanswered. This book is a beautiful ending to a beautiful series. Thank you Vanessa Fewings!!

Totally enthralled with Richard’s Reign! Five seductive stars out of five.

“Being a submissive is about finding your center and letting go. Being in the now. Giving yourself over to your lover. Losing and rediscovering yourself at the same time.”

It’s almost impossible not to get into subspace and surrender completely to this book. I loved everything about Richard’s Reign — especially Richard himself. He’s dominant, smart and sexy. He’s also sarcastic, successful and is the type of man who doesn’t mince words. As much as he tries to mask it Richard Booth has a soft, tender side, but losing the woman he loves has left him lonely and utterly heartbroken. Enter Andrea Buckingham. These two are so likable and funny. Their cat and mouse-like game is so much fun to read. Vanessa Fewings has done such an amazing job of creating two well-rounded, relatable characters. Their chemistry is so hot it practically leaps off the pages.

Richard Booth is the senior dominant at the elite BDSM club Enthrall, a thrill-seeking bad boy with an insatiable appetite for dangerous sports and disciplining submissives. His signature brand of wielding pleasure and pain has spread through whispers in Hollywood.
Andrea Buckingham is a young, gorgeous, rising actress on the verge of tackling the movie role of a lifetime, but the strains of a celebrity lifestyle and the relentless demands of a fierce filmmaker threaten to extinguish her rising star.

Andrea pleads to Richard for a salvation from her troubles that only he can provide. But is she too lost to be found? Too fractured to be fixed?

“She placed her hands on her hips and something told me I would enjoy punishing the petulance out of her.”

Even though this is book six in the Enthrall Sessions it can be read as a stand-alone. This is the first book I have read by Fewings and I can’t wait to read the previous books in this seductive series. Fans of BDSM romance will definitely want to give this a read. Reading Richard’s Reign is a very pleasurable experience that is bound to leave you fully satisfied . . . but still wanting more.

I said from the first time I read Enthrall that this series was what I call smart erotica, and I stand by that statement right up until this last and final installment in the series. What is smart erotica? Well, read these books and you will see. It's erotica written to ensnare the reader in to the world of the characters. So many stories are just sex for the sake of sex. Not these books. They are so much more. Now on to Richard's story.

I went back and forth with Richard throughout the entire series. I loved him, then I wanted to smack him, then I pitied him, then I was angry with him. And now, I fell in love with him all over again.

He meets Andrea right after Mia. He knew he did the right thing, but the sting still hurts. What she asked of him was something he knew he could do, before. Could he still do it now? Did he want to do it? And would she agree to his terms and prove to him that this is what she really wanted?

This book was all about Richard coming in to his own. We watched Cameron do it, now it was Richard's turn. I think in many ways, he trained Andrea for himself as much as for her. I liked her too. Really liked her. I liked watching her grow and come to accept that side of her. When I read the blurb and saw "Hollywood starlet" I was expecting a spoiled princess. Andrea is anything but. She is kind, loving, and she needs to find the courage in her to be everything that she can be. And with Richard's help, she knows she can. From Pendulum to the ocean depths, Richard takes her on a journey of self discovery, one that was just as much for him as it was for her.

Of course, we see Cam and Mia. I felt for Richard. You knew he wasn't over the whole thing. There was a sadness reading those that really made me feel for him.

Richard's Reign is the perfect conclusion to this amazing series. I am so sad to see this series end, as it is one of my favorites. While I will always love Cam, this book made me understand Richard so much more. He certainly is more than ready to reign.

This book is about what happens after Richard drops Mia off so she can be with Cameron. He misses Mia and has guilt over it. Then he is approached by an actress, Andrea Buckingham who needs help with a part she has coming up. Her cousin is a part of Cameron and Richard’s world. Richard is reluctant at first until he meets her. There is just something about her that draws Richard in. Andrea wants Richard to help her for her new role but it turns into something more. When he agrees but changes his mind she isn’t willing to take no for an answer and goes after him. Richard goes through something like a breakthrough in this book. He begins to develop real feeling for Andrea. However with her being an actress and in the public spotlight them being together is really feasible because of Richard past and his father. You also get to read Richard’s perspective on how he helped Cameron with the problem his family was having. Reading how differently Richard handles problems at Chrysalis is pretty fun too. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more about these characters in the future. I have really enjoyed reading all these Enthrall books and everything that has happened. Vanessa is a fantastic author and I look forward to reading more books by her in the future.

You think you know Richard? Well you are in for a pleasant surprise on so many levels. Having been a fan of the series for a long time, I made the mistake of going in thinking that I knew who Richard was based on the rest of the series. Perceptions can be deceiving as I never expected this. Vanessa opens up the world again like only she know how. This book like all in the Enthralled series is beautifully written and eloquently described that you won’t want to put it down. And it’s interesting to get a point of view from three sides of this triangle. Richard truly is the master of this book and he dominates the pages like only he can. I will admit that I was Team Richard at first then like Mia kind of slipped over to Team Cameron but it takes a truly masterful author to make the read switch team again. Vanessa is one of those talented authors. I’m so confused, almost drowning but I’m okay with this. Witty and sensual is the prefect pair in this series and Richard’s Reign is no exception. If you haven’t read this series I suggest you read it or even listen to it since all the audio books are coming out too. You won’t want to miss what Richard as to share from his side of the story and his adventures, it’s an adrenaline rush.

Richard's Reign is the first book I've read in the Enthrall series and I really enjoyed it. I admit that I was a bit confused at the beginning as I didn't know anything about Richard's background and previous relationship, but I soon worked out who was who and was totally hooked. This book is intensely sexy with an intriguing storyline and great characters.

Actress Andrea is a rising star in Hollywood, but her latest role as a submissive is proving to be a challenge. Her director tells her to get some real life experience of submission, so she turns to the senior Dom at elite BDSM club Enthrall, Richard. He's not too keen on training another inexperienced sub after recently losing his sub to his best friend, but there is something about Andrea that calls out to him. Andrea needs Richard, and she needs his distinct brand of dominance.

This is quite a short read, but it sure packs a powerful punch. It succeeded in keeping my attention right until the end, I couldn't put it down. I really liked the characters in this series, they are an intriguing bunch. I'll definitely be looking out for more books in this series, as this was a great read. Four stars.

I hate to do this, but I liked this book the least out of the series. I liked Richard a lot in the 1st book, but as the series went on I liked him less and less. I did not like the way he treated Mia, though he claimed to love her. He moved on within hours of dropping her at Cameron's door, and yet every time he'd meet his new girl, in his head he still kept referring to Mia as his girlfriend. Yuck. This book had a lot of the scenes that were in #5, but did not offer another view of the scene, even with a different POV. I think, maybe if I would've gotten to know Andrea, maybe I would've liked this better. After reading this, I still have no idea how she is, or what she's like. It may have helped to have a few chapters in her POV. Lastly, I did like the ending, but again, would've liked it even more had we gotten to know Andrea. It also seems like there could be a few more books, or novellas after this, because there was no epilogue, and there is so much more that can still happen with all of these characters. I think I'd love one about Shay and Arianna! ;)

What would you do for control?

This book had me sucked in right away… I mean that voice! Have him whisper in my ears like that.. HOLY HOT.

This was the first book I read/listened to so I have no back story.

I felt like Richard is consumed with guilt, and or misplaced guilt. He has given the girl he wants to his best friend. But you can’t give away the willing.
So he is kind of lost and when Andrea asks for help for a role she is playing, I feel like it’s more than that. Like she was seeking out the submissive lifestyle, even before her role.

Richard goes along with it I think personal because he was lonely. He never planned to have feeling for her.
For me Andrea was a sneaky chicky, I think she knew what she wanted and went after it… My kind of girl.

Overall I enjoyed this Audio and I will be looking for more by this narrator you can count on that!

Oh Richard how I have missed you and finally getting your point of view was so worth the wait. It broke my heart to see you in pain after letting go of Mia, but everything works out for a reason. I can't say I expected the scarlet Andrea to be the one to finally crack his exterior shell, but being able to watch it happen was amazing. The arrangement that brought them together had a time limit, but it was evident right of the bat this would never end without a fight. The training sessions were super hot and watching her push in her own ways past his own comfort level was amazing!! The extra insight between Richard and Cameron + Mia was a very special treat and helped fill in some blanks. Seriously the shark visit and the dinner at the seafood restaurant was an adventure for the both of them that hit them each differently. In the end they both got what they needed and to finally see Richard get what he was too afraid to every hold on to was amazing.

I absolutely loved this book. One of my favorite in the series!! I love Richard and was happy to understand him a little better in this book.

Richard really stood out and made me proud in this book. He learned a lot about himself and finally learned he can have love. He just has to allow himself to open up and embrace it!!!

In Enthrall I was up in the air with who I loved more. Richard or Cam? It switched with all the books. I really loved Cameron in his books, but I feel more in love with Richard in this book. He jumped to the number one spot!!

I really loved this series and am sad to say goodbye to all these characters! This has been an amazing series. One I won't soon forget!! I fell in love with Richard, Mia and Cameron in Enthrall and have continued to love them through the whole series!!

I wasn't a big Richard fan after book 1 but honestly I think that may have been partially because of the narration. In the books following book 1, the narrators both made me think of Richard as a young playboy just looking to have some fun. It was a little story but mostly it was the voice and tones used.

So imagine my surprise when I finish book 6 and can say it's my favorite of them all. Richards story is hot!!! He is so much more than I thought he was and Andrea brings out the best in him. These two are off the charts together, they are explosive, fun and they help each other in way neither new possible. Loved it!

Aaron Shedlock was perfect for Richard. He completely changed my feeling out Richard and made him dark and hot and demanding! Best narrator of the three for sure!

I was so glad to to see Richard get a continuation of his life and story after giving up his former and girlfriend and sub, Mia, to his best friend, Cameron. In Richard's Reign, he is approached by A-list actress Andrea Buckingham for help in preparing for a movie role as a submissive. He brings her into his role, but never imagined he would feel the way he would after losing Mia, someone he thought he'd marry.

Vanessa Fewings' "Richard's Reign" is part of the Enthrall series, but it can easily be read as a standalone (I did). I liked the storyline a lot. I liked the famous actress bit and I sort of imagined Natasha Henstridge as Andrea (not sure why!). The sexy scenes were very tasty! It seemed to go a little fast in some parts, but maybe that's me wanting to draw out the deliciousness of the tale. The version I read needed a smidge more editing.

Loved the narrator and appreciated the storyline. Richard is a well developed character and I'm sure if I had read some of the other books in the series I would be more vested in him. Andrea is slightly unbelievable in some of her actions which I usually chalk up to being a fiction novel but it was a little annoying at times. Overall I enjoyed the book and will likely look for more in the series.

This one consumed me as I devoured it. I'm so not ready at all for this series to be over. I need more of Richard and Cameron, 2 of the best characters you'll ever encounter. Elegance is the one word that comes to my mind to summarize Vanessa Fewings's writing. I loved it, so, so much. Bravo. Bravissimo.

Perfect End

I always loved Richard and I'm SO Happy he got the ending happiness he deserved. Beautifully written as always. I will miss the Enthrall Sessions. Unless! We get a Shay Novella? Or even Dominic? Maybe even whole new series on our beloved Dominatrix's?! A girl can only dream.

Well Done Ms. Fewings!!
