Taming a Duke's Reckless Heart
Piper Baker’s mother is gravely ill and they are about to be destitute. With both time and money running out, marriage is her only option. While suitors swirl around her, none capture her heart until Barrett Maddox, Duke of Manchester, saves her from a band of thieves. But the one man she wants is the only one she cannot have.
Barrett Maddox has few rules for his life, but one of them is to stay far away from marriageable virgins. That is until he rescue’s Piper with her auburn hair and spunky fortitude. For some unknown and insane reason, he agrees to her mother’s request to help broker her on the marriage market of New York. Moreover, while he will easily ward off any unwanted suitors, he cannot imagine how he will keep his hands to himself?
As their lives become more tangled, the question becomes… Is there anything more reckless than love?

Taming a Duke's Wild Rose
Since the death of her mother, Lady Rose Wentworth has dreamed of a hero. A knight or soldier who sweeps her off her feet and heals the scars she hides within. These fantasies cloud her judgement when it comes to a man’s true nature and every suitor she pines for proves to be less than honorable. But Rose is convinced she has finally found a true hero in the soldier, Carl Lundberg.

Fearing for Rose’s future, her father arranges a match with the scarred duke. Powerful and rich beyond reason, Lord Wentworth is convinced this is the man who can provide a real future for his daughter. But Rose knows better, or so she thinks. Now she is caught between two men, one handsome and dashing, the other scarred but intriguing none-the-less. As each vies for her hand, Rose finds it more difficult to discern whose intentions are pure.

The more Rose is entangled in the web of love and marriage the more she questions which man has the true heart and who can unlock hers.

Taming a Laird's Wild Lady
Miss Isabelle Maddox, known as Isla, has never been one to follow rules. She would much rather a reckless ride on horseback than a dance in a ballroom but her father has very different ideas about her future. To further the families’ fortune, he would see her married to a Scottish lord. Isla fears this will be the end of the life she treasures above all else.

Gavin Campbell will never marry again. His past has taught him well, his first wife’s spending has him teetering on the edge of financial ruin. Marriage is a disease, or so he thought until the headstrong Isla starts seeping into is heart and he begins to wonder if a woman like her might actually be a cure.

Can Isla’s wild ways tame this laird’s heart?

Taming a Duke’s Heart contains the first three books in the Taming the Heart series – Taming a Duke’s Reckless Heart, Taming a Duke’s Wild Rose, and Taming a Laird’s Wild Lady. Each is an individual historical romance, but the characters are linked through friendship. Through following the series in order, you get to enjoy the development of the characters, watching as their stories progress after their individual book.

The Taming the Heart series is made up of six quick enjoyable reads, meaning you get to read the first half of the series in this boxset. Each story will grip you in a different way, each pulling you in and leaving you wanting more. Without a doubt, these are wonderful stories, more than worth the read for any fan of historical romance.

Moreover, the boxset gives us a glimpse into what we can expect in the future – and it has made me a very happy fan indeed. Next year, we are to receive the stories of the children of these characters. I cannot wait to see what happens. I came to really love the characters throughout this series, and whilst their stories may have come to an end, I cannot wait to dive into the stories of their children.

A wonderful series, one that will leave you addicted throughout.

I was given an advanced copy of this release by the author, in exchange for my honest review!
This is a charming collection of the first 3 books in Tammy Andresen's hit series "Taming the Heart"! You get to meet the original characters that made the series great, and some new ones as well. It's also chocked full of bonus material, including a sneak peek of "Taming the Defiant Duke" coming in 2018! Overall it's a great collection for any historical romance fan!

Taming a Duke's Reckless Heart

Piper Baker is in a very desperate situation. Her mother is gravely ill, while Piper has no fortune... what is a single girl to do? The only thing she and her mother can think to do is to marry her off to some rich man. They plan to travel to Boston in search of a husband, but before Piper can board the ship she is accosted by a rather unsavory character. It's here that bachelor Barrett Maddox saves her from a fate worse than death and takes her under his wing.
With countless bachelors vying for Piper's attention, it is only Mr. Maddox who has captured her heart... ironically he's the one man she can never have.

Taming a Duke's Wild Rose

Holding out for a hero!
Lady Rose Wentworth has been treated like a child ever since the death of her mother. She's been looking for someone to take her away from under her overprotective father's wing. As a result of her infatuation with "heroes", Rose's judgement has been clouded before. But now she believes that she's finally found a man who will fullfill all her fantasies. Carl Lunden.
There's just one small problem, Rose has been betrothed to a Duke she's never met. It's rumored that he's a veteran of the wars in india and bears disfiguring scars to prove it. Lord Wentworth is convinced that this is the best man for his daughter, to keep her from gold diggers masquerading as suitors.
Overall, a fantastic fast paced book that kept me on the edge of my seat!

Taming a Laird's Wild Lady

Isabelle Maddox is a rare gem of a lady. She isn't your typical English rose, but instead she is a spirited soul.. She rides horses, picks winning stallions and can easily defend herself. Now it is time for her to marry and settle down, but Isabelle (Isla) wants nothing to do with her would-be suitors... she knows that the majority of them are only after the lumber contract that her father has offered as part of her dowery. Isla feels as though she's out for auction.
Gavin Campbell is a man in trouble. His people are starving and he will do anything to save them. He travels far because he has heard that a lumber contract is up for grabs, it's a god-send! That is until it is revealed to him that the contract is a conditional matter of marrying Isla. Gavin, having been married once before, wants nothing to do with this plan. But as he spends time with the beautiful heiress, will he change his mind?
Having read the first two books of the series, I was extremely excited to read Isla's story. This is by far my favorite of the series thus far! "A love for the ages!"

Taming a Duke’s reckless heart

Piper Baker’s situation is desperate with her mother gravely ill from consumption. Time and money dwindle to naught, and marriage is Piper’s lone option. Although potential suitors circle her skirts, none but Barrett Maddox, Duke of Manchester, captures her heart, after he saves her from a band of thieves. For wealthy, titled bachelor Barrett Maddox, the first rule in life is to avoid marriageable virgins, at all costs, and he has been successful thus far. That is, until he rescues the delectable, auburn-haired Piper Baker.
I really enjoyed this book, which I first read in an anthology. However at times I wanted to bang Barrett & Pipers’ heads together as it was so obvious from the start how they felt about each other & it took a near disaster for them to realise. The characters were well developed & the pace of the story is very good

Taming a Duke’s Wild Rose

Lady Rose Wentworth falls in & out of love on a regular basis. Then her father betroths her to the scarred duke buy she’s in love with Carl. Then Alex Cross comes to stay & she’s drawn to him in spite of his scarred face. An endearing retelling of Beauty & the Beast. I found Rose to be an immature silly miss at the beginning but she did mature throughout the book. Alex was lovely – sigh! The pace is good & I read it in two sessions. This is the second in the series & could well be read by itself. An enjoyable read now onto reading the third in the series. I originally read this in an anthology

Gavin Campbell will never marry again. His past has taught him well, his first wife’s spending has him teetering on the edge of financial ruin & her socialising kept him away from his estate.
I loved Isla so different from the run of the mill heroine, she’s strong, independent & a real asset to her family in many ways. Gavin has been bitten by marriage once & is shy to try it again, however the more he comes to know Isla he realises there is so much more to her than a pretty face. Their journey to a HEA is very entertaining & I read the book in two sittings. This is the third book in the series but could be read by itself however I’m loving binge reading the series. I first read this book in an anthology.

An easy to read very enjoyable box set, The characters are well developed & the stories well paced

A Wonderful Trilogy from Tammy Andresen on the Taming the Heart Series. Each story can be read as a standalone, but it is always good to see old characters from previous books as you progress. I would highly recommend this series or any books by Tammy Andresen!!
Book 1 Taming a Duke's Restless Heart
Another heartfelt story by Tammy Andresen that pulls you in from page one. Piper Baker and her mother are on the way to board a ship to take them to America from London. Her mother is ill and desperate to find a husband for Piper so she will not be left alone if something happens to her. Unfortunately they are set upon by brigands before they make it to the ship, but luckily, they are saved by Barrett Maddox, Duke of Manchester. He takes them into his care and delivers them to their relatives in America, where he also has his shipping business. Barrett makes a promise to Piper's mother to take care of Piper and watch over her because she is so ill. What was he thinking? He is immediately mesmerized by Piper and only wants her for himself, but due to his title must marry a suitable partner already chosen by his parents. Thus begins the story of a Duke, who fights his feelings but does not have much success, and a girl who has a hard time looking for a husband when her feelings are otherwise engaged. There is humor, mystery and a little of everything in this story and I absolutely loved it!
Book 2 Taming a Duke's Wild Rose
Lady Rose Wentworth was to marry a Duke her father had chosen for her. But Rose was in love, as she often seems to be, with a dashing hero who declared his love for her most fervently. Forbidden by her father to choose a husband that she was happy with, Rose was determined to do as her father bid. Alex Cross, Lord Wentworth, know as the Scarred Duke due to scars on his face due to battle, wants to see Rose's reaction to his scars before he commits to her father. So he visits her home posing as a friend to her father to see if their match will work. Both of them quickly feel attraction to each other but Rose is having a hard time letting go of her past attractions and worries that she may not be wife material. Her current beau will not take no for an answer when Rose tries to break it off with him and he begins to make trouble. This story is a good lesson in that people are not always what they seem and it is important to look below the surface. Tammy Andersen writes a tale full of suspense, strong emotions and love finally winning out.
Book 3 Taming a Laird's Wild Lady
Book three in the Taming the Heart Series. After reading the first two I could not wait for this story. Isla Maddox is a free spirit or tries to be in everything she does. She is more of a tomboy than a debutante but her father is insisting she marry to help bring much needed money to the coffers. The focus is on Scottish Lord, Gavin Campbell who really does not want to marry again after his first wife's financial ruination to his clan. But what can you do when you meet a a woman who endangers those walls that have been built up and has such a wonderful spirit for life? This is truly a wonderful story that will fully engage your emotions and you will fall in love with Isla and Gavin. Action, adventure and true love transport the reader to quickly turn the pages until the story ends. You will not be disappointed!
I read this book as an advanced reader copy and a voluntary review.

Taming a Duke's Reckless Heart
Penniless, fatherless and a mother with ill-health Piper Baker has no option but to marry and marry well. Not one of her admirers capture her affections, until she met Barrett Maddox, Duke of Manchester. Barrett is equally smitten but could not offer her marriage as he's betrothed to another. He agreed to keep Piper's unwanted suitors at bay. But they can't keep their hands off each other.

Taming a Duke's Wild Rose
Lady Rose Wentworth has a fickle heart, she also has been dreaming of a hero who sweeps her off her feet. She was certain that Carl Lundberg is this hero.

To protect her daughter, Lord Wentworth, the Earl of Essex, arranges a match with the Duke of Wellington believed to be wealthy, scarred and a recluse. But Rose, saw beyond the scars.

Rose is in limbo. She's attracted to both men.

Taming a Laird's Wild Lady
Miss Isabelle Maddox, or Isla to her family and friends, never profess to be a lady. She prefers horses to ballgowns. But her father would like to secure her future and the family's fortune, he planned on marrying her off to a Scottish Lord.

Gavin Campbell is against re-entering the marriage institution. His deceased wife caused him grief, he's fairly close to a financial ruin. But the willful Isla is the exact opposite of his first wife and they both can't ignore the fact that they need each other in more ways than one.

From New York to Scotland, these are the first three stories in the series. The characters are interesting. Good, lovely reads.

I received a complimentary copy. This is my honest review.

Every book excellent

A definite 5 star for all stories in this boxed set. Each story is full of everything, intrigue, excitement, romance, and a little sizzle in all three books. I loved all three heroes and heroines. So much fun watching the heroes change into wonderful lovers and husbands. I love all of this author’s books. I highly recommend this series.

I read these books as separate installments, and have copied my individual reviews below.

Taming A Duke's Reckless Heart (3 stars):
This series is very much a set of standalone novels, with a bit of character crossover here and there. I read them out of order, beginning with #3. I'm glad I did, because I enjoyed most of the later ones; I finally got to go back and read the first two to catch up, and I didn't care for this one much.

My main problem was with the "hero", Barrett. I just cannot like or respect a character who behaves the way he does toward the heroine. He lies to her mother about having a chaperone while talking to her alone; he blatantly takes advantage of her after telling her he wouldn't; he barges into her aunt's house repeatedly and walks right into her bedroom. And let's not forget what he does with her while they are supposed to be just sitting by her sick mother's bedside...can you say ew?

I recommend skipping this one and reading a different book in the series.

Taming a Duke's Wild Rose (3 stars):
The characters were a little bland for my taste and the plot a bit slow, but it was an okay read to kill a few hours with.

Taming a Laird's Wild Lady (4 stars):
This was a pretty fast-paced, entertaining, light read. I had to suspend my disbelief on a few things (Isla's family is *really* unobservant...just saying), but for the most part I enjoyed it. Isla is not your typical prissy society girl; she enjoys horses and being outside in general, and doesn't take any crap from anyone. She's my kind of girl to read about!

I received free copies of all three books in exchange for an honest review.
