Reminds me of my family’s toffee legacy. As the only daughter the receipe falls on my shoulders. I laughed at the antics of Ethel and Carol as it hit home with me. Can’t wait to read more. Merry Christmas Diane from Colorado -Diane C Boyle
★★★★★ Five Stars Love all the stories! November 26, 2017 Love all the stories! I love the "clean" romance, and the spirit of the characters. With all the hate, violence, and over sexualization in books, TV, movies, news, these stories took me to a place where people are kind and beautiful in heart. I'm smiling from ear to ear! - Penguin812 “So holiday perfect! 6 Inspirational and funny books, heartwarming, and delightful to read! As a senior I was really happy to see older characters having romances as well! The inhabitants of Kissing Bridge are so cute I want to live there! S.Stevens - Kindle Good Books
“Linda West has such a knack for the humorous side of characters … Her writing style is so upbeat and unique I hope to see more of these characters I’ve come to love - I laughed my butt off over Kat's story with her long distance boyfriend. I laughed so hard my husband kept asking me what I was reading. I love Kissing Bridge!” Debbie Dragna <
Book 1 - Christmas Kisses and Cookies - Supermodel Summer Landers is forced to return home from LA to Christmas crazy and ultra adorable Kissing Bridge Mountain. She discovers her family blue ribbon cookie winning legacy is in shambles. Together with her mom and older Aunt they work to beat their rivals and Martha Stewart.
Book 2 - Holiday Kisses and Valentine Wishes - Dodie is broken hearted when she comes to stay at the Kissing Bridge lodge. She finds herself falling for a soldier she writes letters to. She never imagined he'd show up in Kissing Bridge.
Book 3 - Chocolate Kisses and Heartfelt Wishes - Olympic hopeful Kacey Anderson comes home to Kissing Bridge to heal and secretly train against her coaches wishes. A compelling activist makes her question her true path in life and love.
Book 4 - Firework Kisses and Summertime Wishes - Sweet Elle is broken hearted when her longtime boyfriend dumps her because she's not good enough to be his future wife. She finds solace in her horses and a stranger that has lost as much as she has.
Book 5 - Christmas Wishes and Paris Kisses - Kat O'hara is a writer that can't write. Her long distance relationship is putting a strain on her nerves and her diet. When she meet a stunning stranger, Raj Kumar from India, she dislikes him immediately. A super funny odd couple, they are thrown together in a night class, and transform each others lives.
6 - Christmas Belles and Mistletoe - Kissing Bridge is in an uproar when the Landers' famous blue ribbon cookie recipe is stolen. Everyone is a suspect, especially Mrs. Beaverton who's been stealing kisses from all the men in town that happen anywhere near hanging mistletoe. It's a cosy mystery only a Christmas miracle and Santa can solve. Magical recipes and secret baby's delight all in this HEA set.
Love this series!! The Landers and the supporting characters are awesome! I just want to hang out with all of them. I really like to read series in order, but this time I had actually gotten the last book first. Well, I loved it so much I had to go back to the beginning to see how it all started. I’m not much of a cold weather person, but I would love to hang out with my new friends in Kissing Bridge. I hope you’ll enjoy meeting my new friends as much as I have.
These are stories with a holiday theme centered around the village of Kissing Bridge, Vermont. They are lighthearted romances between couples with minor problems or misunderstandings, and have a guaranteed happy ending. There is a hint of magic without being supernatural in theme.
Now that said -
From this set of six books, the one that didn't fit well was 'Christmas Wishes and Paris Kisses'. The most apparent issue was that the writing switched randomly from first-person to third-person in the perspective of the main character. It seemed like a pre-editing draft.
A secondary issue is that unlike the primary character(s) in the other books, Kat appeared to have a serious problem - alcoholism. This was never addressed. Her constant drinking in the face of difficulty was framed as a problem only in regards to how beer isn't good for weight loss.
In another book, a character who is *not* an alcoholic was sent to (and rejected by) AA. In a book of this series outside of this compilation, alcoholism is a topic with secondary characters. It wouldn't have been a leap to get Kat some help and have some meaningful character development. All of her changes seemed driven by via external forces. I felt like this was just filler for the lives of the characters in previous books.
Yet another series of books where the women feel meaningless without their men, get treated badly by men, then find a man that treats them well and all's right with the world. Are we women really so worthless without a guy? Are we so dependent on them that we have no value without them and must "take to the bed"? The story that bugged me the worst was the one about Kat, going on and on about how fat and worthless she was and acting like she weighed 400 lbs. And even if she did, she still wouldn't be worthless. Why are all the women in these books so insecure? How about stories about strong, independent women who find men that value their strength and independence? I'm tired of whiny, wussy women being the story we read over and over and over. Can we please stop sending women this message?
These books would also benefit from better editing. There are sentences with words missing, spaces missing between words, wrong homonym used (scene and seen), typos creating a different word than what should have been used (be, me), just plain wrong word (mine filed, not mind field) and so on. It's not enough to be unreadable, but enough to be noticeable.
I liked these stories, and loved getting them all in one set. I had to keep reading to find out what happens next. However, I didn't love these stories. I feel a little ambivalent about that. I found it confusing keeping up with who the love interest really is. I think it was meant to insert tension, but it just caused me confusion. The characters are all cute, and it is great to see them continue from book to book, but there were times when I wanted to smack the heroine, or hero, and say wake up and smell the coffee!
The pace is lively, the tone is uncertain, and the storyline is character oriented with no steam and no adventure action. If you like clean romance stories that focus on one group of characters and have a strong holiday component, then this is for you. Try it and see.
I wish I could give this series 10 stars! The entire series is filled with the kindest, sweetest, and believable characters. From the first page to the last, I was totally involved in the lives and the goings on of Kissing Bridge Mountains residents. The VERY talented author did not leave the friends from the previous book out of the fun. At all times I felt a personal involvement. I simply loved it!
Love all the different love stories in this set. Their lives are all over the world but yet most of them end back in Missing Bridge Mountain. Grandma Izzy with her recipes and special wishes are so wonderful. Each story has all sorts of twists and turns. Love all the people in this town. The cookie contest is so cute every time. Love all these stories.
This is the best series , and so lucky to get all of them in a series group. I loved these books and had actually red all except Christmas bells but enjoyed reading them all again. The characters are relatable, laugh and a few tears, all around a fantastic book set and you will love the Landers clan.
I have this book a rating a 5, because it was such a great love story book. It was so hard to put it down, you just wanted to keep on reading. It made you want to be right there, and live there. I would recommend this book to any woman young or old, they would love it.
A collection of Christmas stories that all revolve around the town of Kissing Bridge. Fun and cute stories full of quirky characters that I grew to adore. I can't wait to come back to Kissing Bridge to hang out with the Landers Sisters and the Anderson Siblings soon. I borrowed this book from Amazon through the Kindle Owners Lending Library program.
Loved these books. Makes you laugh and sometime cry. Good wholesome books.
The Lander sister each have their own special gifts from being able to hear people across a room, picking the right colors, to aromatherapy. They are very much loved in Kissing Bridge. There only problem is the curse.
I loved these simple stories. I started out as a stranger to kissing bridge, but quickly fell in love with the town and the residents. I laughed and cried and let my world slip away, it is all one could ask for.
I loved this series. It is so upbeat and happy! Great escape before the holidays start! Thank you for putting them on Kindle Unlimited! Looking forward to future books by Linda West.
Such an easy read with feel good characters you want to meet. Linda West writes with wholesome words so you never have to worry it will make you blush. Loved this series!!
Really enjoy the missing bridge people. Hopefully there are more thatch haven't read. I have also read death by crockpot and death by rolling pin . I have enjoyed all of Linda West books
Stories are warm and funny. Good read for cold winter day with hot chocolate. A few of stories became a bit predictable, since the storyline did not change much.
