When you go on tour, you have to expect to rock the bus.
Keira Weston is screwed. Her art is flopping. Her teaching job dries up. And now she's losing her apartment. A girl should be allowed to have a night of fun to forget her troubles, right?
What she doesn’t expect is to meet Eric Newcastle, the panty-melting guitarist she's always crushed on. And she definitely doesn't expect him to ask her to join him and a rowdy headlining band as a tour photographer. She knows better than to turn down that kind of opportunity.
Eric even offers wild nights in his bed as a perk . But she’s determined to keep things professional. She's had her heart broken by an passionate artist before, and she's not getting burned again.
Still, she can’t help but be tempted by the dirty talking guitarist with magic fingers. Especially when he undresses her with his eyes from the stage, Eric makes it clear. He’s interested in more than her skill with a camera. He wants Keira to himself so he can prove what they have is real.
So long she doesn’t uncover any of his family secrets…
Rocked is a standalone novel filled with a lot of HOT romance, a little heartache, lots of fun... and a HEA guaranteed! This rockstar romance is approximately 67,000 words!
BANGOR BELLE BOOK BESTIES I received an arc copy of this book in return for nothing but an honest review.
This book is the 4th book in this Breaking Free Series but can easily be read as a standalone.
I’m pretty partial to Rock Star Romances, after all who doesn’t love a hot dreamy Rocker? This book was an enjoyable sweet read, and not totally the norm for rock star romances. The two characters involved were extremely likable, and easy to connect with.
Keira Weston is an art teacher, with dreams of better things with her photography, but things really aren’t going her way. Eric Newcastle is a new up and coming rock star. So when Keira meets her crush Eric at a mutual friends leaving party, her life begins to change, she’s got a shot of showing her skills in photography with the added bonus of spending time with hot and dreamy ERIC!!!
There wasn’t massive surprises in the book, but it is well written and flowed with good pace. Eric was a guy every girl would dream of, loyal, sincere, honest, hot, sexy, and didn’t play games. He knew what he wanted from Keira and wasn’t afraid to show it, even though he had been burned by love. Keira also burned by love was determined to be professional, but how could she stop her growing feelings for Eric and how could she ever be brave enough to act on them? They both have insecurities and both have a degree of shyness but put them together an it sure does heat up!!!!
Why did i enjoy this book? Well, it is what it says, its romance, not high on angst and diva drama, but bursting with romance that is easy to associate with, and sometimes that’s just what we need, a book to lose yourself in that gives you that warm glow. Two people who are made for each other and irrespective of their pasts and future fears, overcome and fulfill their destinies together !!!
Equal parts sexy and sweet Rocked will sweep you right off your feet! This is an amazing rockstar romance that will have you swooning over a particularly hot musician. Although part of a series, this is a complete stand alone so don't hesitate to dive right in! Right on the verge of major fame Eric is just starting out on tour when he meets Keira. Immediately drawn to the beautiful photographer, he's elated when he finds a way for her to tour with him. Keira is a struggling photographer, when she meets the musician she's been drooling over for a long while she definitely doesn't expect it to end with a job opportunity. Trying to stay completely professional is difficult when they both are drawn together.
Eric is the ultimate swoon worthy rockstar. Not only is he sexy, but he's not your typical bad boy musician that your mind automatically goes to when you see rockstar. Sweet, romantic, loyal, and kind he's every woman's dream come true. Eric doesn't play games and he's not wishy washy in his feelings for Keira. He's one of my absolute favorite heroes ever! Keira was equally as lovable. While a bit insecure, and timid when it comes to putting herself out there she still gets back up each time life knocks her down. Eric is the perfect match for her and together they make these pages light up.
Keira is a struggling artist / photographer, who due to a douche of an ex boyfriend has zero confidence in herself. Eric is an up and coming musician, who is getting ready to leave for his first solo tour. When these two meet in a bar, Keira is overjoyed as she has always had a crush on Eric. There is an instant attraction between them, and Eric arranges for Keira to travel with him in order to photograph his tour. No spoilers; this is a must read for all rock star lovers out there, you will not be disappointed! Maya has written a wonderful storyline, which is sweet and sexy, and had me hooked and intrigued throughout. I highly recommend this authors’ work and I am looking forward to reading more from her. Brilliant work Maya!!
This is a sweet rock star romance read that can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed both Keira and Eric's characters and definitely loved the anticipation between them. I really enjoyed that this wasn't an insta-love romance. The storyline was great and the story flow was perfect. I didn't care for Eric's mom too much, I thought it was too fast how she disliked Keira than seemed to like her when everything came out. I finished this book in one sitting. This is a great romance, with characters that have insecurities, have been betrayed, a little bit of drama and also a few surprises along the way. The ending was sweet and wrapped up nicely. I would read more books from this author and would recommend readers giving this standalone series a try.
When the chemistry flows, it's hard to resist. But the hot new Rock Star and the photographer try to stay professional, not an easy task. Well written self-contained story that's very entertaining to read.
3.75stars! This is book4 in the Breaking Free series and can be read as a standalone! This was an enjoyable read for me! Eric is a Musician and Keira is a Photographer who goes on tour with Eric! Things develop between these two while on tour, Eric and Keira are sweet together!
I'm a HUGE fan of Maya Hughes, and the Breaking Free series, so it will NEVER get old. In fact, it only keeps getting better & better to be honest. See, Keira Weston is a talented artist, who let an ex-boyfriend convince her otherwise, so she has hidden away by teaching an art class, instead of showing her true passion to the world. So when her summer classes won't be funded, she's not going to be able to eat, and probably lose her apartment, which is going up in rent. However, life takes a big turn when she meets Eric Newcastle, a super sexy musician on the cusp of superstardom, that she's been crushing on for some time. And she definitely didn't foresee him offering her a job to be his photographer on tour. So Keira is going to make this work if it kills her, and it just may, as she wants Eric badly, while he's letting her know all over the place that he feels the same, but she refuses to let another man derail her passion. Rocked was a fast paced story that I couldn't get enough of. Eric is not your typical musician, and while he sampled his share of fans, he never quite achieved the whole manwhore title. And Keira was a colorful heroine that I loved, although I wanted to shake her a couple of times for her fear that she let take over. Their chemistry was off the charts insane, so when the sparks ignited, fiery flames of sexy time took over to light up the night sky. And I cannot forget the cast of entertaining secondaries that only added to the whole story, not to mention made me laugh hard. Maya Hughes has such a talented writing style that shows series depth & originality, while transporting me completely into her world from the very get go. And this series is highly addictive because of those amazing traits. Plus, there's always a diabolical twist or two that leave f-bombs dropping all over! I will never get enough, so waiting for the next book is super hard! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
4.25 stars This is the first book that I have read in the series and it can be read as a standalone. Keira is an aspiring artist and photographer. She has tried to have a gallery showcase her pictures but thanks to her ex-boyfriend, is convinced that her talent is not worth anything and that has kept her from trying again. In order to pay the bills, she teaches art classes but has no control over whether or not the classes will run and unfortunately, they have been cut from the summer schedule. Concerned with how she is going to make rent and pay for the essentials, she decides to put that stress on hold as her friend invites her to his going away party where her favorite singer is going to be performing. Eric is an up and coming new singing star that has been touring with the band Uncharted to introduce people to his music. Keira cannot believe her luck when she hears that Eric will be playing at this party as she has been crushing on him for a long time. The following day, Eric has a meeting with the record executives and proposes that Keira accompany him on his tour taking pictures to create a booklet for the fans to go along with the release of his new album. Keira is stunned and grateful that she has the ability to travel around with Eric but wants to keep things strictly professional between them. This is a bit of a challenge as they are sharing the same bed and are attracted to each other. Keira and Eric are a really cute couple and things are working out well. However there are lies that can tear them apart. Will Keira and Eric have their happily ever after? This is one feel good book and the characters are well written. There was some repetition of explanations that were previously mentioned and some of the descriptions went on a little longer than necessary but overall it was an engaging read. I volunteered to read an arc for a review.
4 stars This is the first book that I have read by Maya Hughes and it will not be my last. Rocked is part of the Breaking Free series but can be read as a standalone. The setting was well done. It showed a pretty clear view of what life is like in the world of rockstars, groupies, and living your life out of a tour bus.
Keira was a sweet girl who was following her passion of photography. She had fears. Yet, she was drawn to Eric. Adorable and endearing Eric. Such the opposite of a typical musician. He gives hope that not all musicians are out there looking for a new girl every night. He appreciates what he wants. And what he wants is Keira. She unlocks something in him.
My attention was piqued by Grayson, Camden, and Owen. I wanted to know more about all of them. Especially Owen and his demons (although Gray was a close second). I want to know what happens with their tour once Eric was not opening for them.
There were a few parts that I had questions on or that I had wished were fleshed out more. I was also distracted a few times by the point of view. It seemed weird to bounce from first person narrative to describing herself as she instead of I. Most of the time it was okay but it was enough to bother me (but I am sure I am just pickier than most). I still enjoyed this book and look forward to going back and getting acquainted with Maya's other works.
I recieved an Advanced Reader's copy in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for the opportunity Maya.
Keira Weston is a struggling artist and to make things even worse her job for the summer didn't work out. A friend is having a going away party and to entice her into coming he invited Eric Newcastle to play. Keira has always had a crush on Eric so she went to the party however not before she ate some questionable food from her fridge. She got to spend some time with Eric at the party until she got sick from the food. Eric Newcastle is an upcoming musician getting ready for his first solo tour when he meets Keira. When she falls ill he takes her to his hotel because she is unable to tell him where she lives. Eric doesn't want to just leaver her behind so when an idea of a photograph book about his tour being done he immediately mentions Keira. The attraction between them is strong and stronger the longer their together. There are many obstacles that they must face before they can be together.
This was a great story I laughed out loud at parts of it. The characters had great chemistry. If you haven't read this book I recommend that you grab it now.
I received a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.
Another amazing read from Maya Hughes! Rocked totally left me swooning with Eric and Kiera's story. I have loved each of these books in the Breaking Free Series and Rocked is no exception. This sweet rockstar romance brings these two characters who suffer from their own heartaches to something neither of them can't stop, no matter how much they try. I loved Kiera's strength and attitude from the beginning. She stood her ground and tried to work her ass off and achieve recognition off her own merit. Eric and his good guy charm was hard not to fall in love with. But both have their own insecurities and secrets they must overcome.
Rocked is a standalone with its own HEA but is part of a series where the characters from the other books will cross-over. It is written in dual POV which I love. Definitely a must read. Maya, I am hooked and wanting to read more Breaking Free! I really want to know what the deal with Owen is and what's going on with Kiera's sister and her neighbor!! Haha! Can't wait to see what Maya will come up with next.
A well written sweet romance that is the fourth in the series Breaking Free. It can be read as a standalone. The story flows nicely and has well described characters that develops through the story. The chemistry between Eric and Kiera is amazing and made believable. It is a sweet romance with instant attraction but characters that have been experiencing bad break ups in their past. They both struggle to open up towards another person. I think they are a very well suited couple but they should learn to communicate with each other. I like that there are included updates on the couples from the previous books. Great story line and plot. I can recommend this story if you like a romance with lots of chemistry and hot scenes.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This whole Breaking Free series has been a really good set of connected stories. All of them being a bit different, but always encompassing a couple that was somehow interrelated with the previous couple. This one even takes place in the middle of Served when Rox was attacked. With this one, who doesn't love a rock start romance?!? Nobody. Eric didn't pressure Keira into anything like you find in some rock star romances. He let her get through her doubts and let things happen through time and lots of interaction and flirting. They worked well together also because of them both being artists. I wish Keira didn't have the doubts she did, but that's what happens when you're always told you're not good enough. Eric had to slowly build her confidence back up and help pull down her walls to get to a relationship status. Another good story by Maya Hughes.
A fantastic ending to this series. Eric is an up and coming musician that Kiera has had her eye in for awhile. There’s something about him, his music, that inspires her, drags her under, lifts her up and just makes her feel. They meet through their friend Mark and sparks fly. What’s more is he gives her an opportunity to fulfill her artistic talent just as the rug has been pulled out from under her feet. Together day after day, they can only take so much before the fall and tumble into one another’s arms. It’s bliss, beautiful, hot and perfect. Until reality comes crashing down. Crazy exes, hidden secrets, executive orders and a crazy life happen. Tearing them apart may be easier than the pull that brought them together. It’s one heck of a ride! Great story.
After his break-up, Eric Newcastle isn't looking for anything long term. Keira Weston lost faith in her art when her ex told her that it was a bribe. Instant attraction blooms, but Keira is gun shy. How will these two handle touring together? Will Eric and Keira be able to overcome their pasts to have a future?
Was excited to get a new Breaking Free series book and wasn't disappointed. Loved Eric character, even if I did feel that he should have told her what the producers had said. Loved the fact that Keira had this bubbly personality and was able to see things in other people that others had missed. Steamy read and cannot wait for more in this serious hopefully!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Rocked is a standalone in the Breaking Free Series. This is Keira and Eric’s story. I really enjoyed this book and I didn’t want to put it down. I liked how this started close to where the third book in the series started. I also loved that the characters from the previous books made an appearance in this one. There were quite a few laughable moments throughout this book. This was another fantastic book from Maya Hughes.
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book*
This book definitely deserves at least 5 Stars if not more. What a great storyline; the characters were totally awesome—you had to fall in love with Eric and Kiera! There was a ton of emotional drama going on, and the road to the HEA was full of all sorts of issues. This is a really great read...you really must 1-Click it today! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and loved it!) ❤️
If you want a not too complicated story that is sweet with plenty of romance, this is for you. An upcoming singer who meets a talented but not so confident artist and their attraction is quite immediate. The characters are fairly simple, but likable and there are some steamy sex scenes, but not enough to overwhelm people who are not into that. It was easy read as in, it goes down super fast and easy.
Rocked is the fourth book in the Breaking Free series, but it can definitely be read as a standalone. I highly recommend reading all the books in the series as well.
We get Keira and Eric's story here. I loved it! We get to see characters from the previous books as well and I always love catching up with them. As always, I loved the characters and storyline in Maya's books! This is a great read!!!!!
Hot, rocking and full of chemistry that's off the charts. This is Keira and Eric’s story and is a standalone in the Breaking Free Series. Keira is an art teacher with a love for photography and Eric is an upcoming rock star. They both have trust, self esteem issues and broken hearts. Their chemistry was electric and their story explosive. A great read with lots of passion, twists and surprises. I received an advance copy and voluntarily chose to review it.
I really enjoyed this one. Keira had her heart broken and her dream for her career crushed. Left with no choice she agrees to go on the road and take pictures for Eric, an up and coming star. On the road their story is filled with lots of ups and downs. Will Keira ever believe she is able to have the career she always wanted? Could Eric want anything serious with her? I enjoyed watching their relationship develop on their journey to a HEA.
Rocked book four of the Breaking Free series by Maya Hughes. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I liked it very much. Loved all of the characters especially the main two Keira and Eric. Loved the story though it seemed to jump around a little. The characters where wonderful and I believe that I’m going to have to look up the first three books to read more about them all. I can’t wait to read more
I love a good rock star story and this one was pretty good. Keira is a art teacher and photographer and Eric is a up and coming rock star. After a chance meeting and a pretty funny encounter Eric invites Keira on the road with him to take tour pictures and the story goes from there, some parts needed to be expanded on they seem to slip through the cracks a bit, other parts were great and had me cracking up, it's a cute love story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book..
I loved this book despite Eric and Keira acting childish during the story. The plot was interesting. I was hooked from the very beginning of the story. The story-line flowed smoothly throughout. I loved the guys from Uncharted and would like to read more about them. The characters were fairly well-developed and easily relatable. I love rock stars!!
This book was a breath of fresh air! No mind boinks! No cheating! Just a love story of epic proportions! Keira and Eric are sweet and loving and have chemistry by the truck loads! I can not say enough good! There were also other characters that were so well written, I’m hoping they get their own book, like Keira’s sister and hunky neighbor! Right here is a no brained...get this book!
Rocked by Maya Hughes is an excellent read. This is a sweet and sexy romance that focuses on the story of Eric and Keira. This is a standalone romance that is in the Breaking Free series. Entertaining and engaging, this book is well written, has an interesting storyline and characters that are complex and likeable. I am posting an honest review after reading an ARC copy of this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Although it is the fourth book in the series it can be read as a standalone. A rock star and a photographer. It was an amazing read and very well written. The chemistry between Keira and Eric was off the charts! I could not put this book down. I would love to know what happens with Heather and Gavin in the future.
This book is part of Maya Hughes Breaking Free Series but can be read as a standalone. The book is well written with Eric and Keira being the main characters who I enjoyed very much. I thought the book was exciting and intriguing to the point where it's hard to put down. If you are a fan of Maya Hughes then you should put this book on your TBR or buy it now. She doesn't disappoint.
