From New York Times Bestseller Cristin Harber of the Titan series comes a new standalone romantic suspense novel.
Colin questioned his recruitment to Delta team from day one, but he's made sure to earn his accomplishments twice over. No one could accuse his diplomat father of pulling strings.
Falling for Adelia is everything he never planned and always wanted. No complications. No agenda. Just a sweet girl who made him smile.
But Adelia has spun a network of lies around the world to help save women from human traffickers, and she's stolen from Mayhem motorcycle club, the men who saved her life, to do it. Anonymous friends back her unseen good deeds—until a link snaps. Actions have consequences in the Mayhem MC world. The repercussions are deadly.
Everywhere she turns, the fallout ripples. Friends become enemies. Family walks away. There's no one left to save her except for the man she's fallen in love with, and she'd do anything to keep him from Mayhem's ricochet.
DELTA: RICOCHET is a standalone military romance / romantic suspense novel. It features characters from the Titan, Delta, and Only series, but new readers will enjoy this book without a problem.
There's a guaranteed happily ever after and absolutely no cliffhanger!
Cristin Harber is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling romance author. She writes sexy romantic suspense, military romance, and new adult. Fans voted her onto Amazon's Top Picks for Debut Romance Authors in 2013, and her debut Titan series was both a #1 romantic suspense and #1 military romance bestseller.
Each Titan and Delta book can be read as a standalone (except for Sweet Girl), but readers will likely best enjoy the series in order. The Only series must be read in order.
7 Brides for 7 Soldiers: Ryder (#1) - Barbara Freethy Adam (#2) - Roxanne St. Claire Zane (#3) - Christie Ridgway Wyatt (#4) - Lynn Raye Harris Jack (#5) - Julia London Noah (#6) - Cristin Harber Ford (#7) - Samantha Chase
‘Delta: Ricochet’ started out well enough, but this is my dislike for MCs-type stories speaking here, which Cristin Harber has integrated more and more into her Delta series with the longstanding topic of human trafficking taking priority in the last few of these books. I definitely prefer Harber’s Titan storylines that are more in the grain of the type of romantic suspense that I like to read, and clearly this preference is what’s partially accounting for my rating.
Undoubtedly, the setup of Colin’s and Adelia’s story is an intriguing one and it works well enough as a standalone since Harber does drop hints of what happened before. The first quarter brings Colin’s and Adelia’s paths together in way that is easy to follow (and is in my opinion, the best bit about the story which I sailed through), though their slow, slow burn does stretch past this mark. ‘Ricochet’ is however, a way longer read than what Harber typically churns out. Topping at 400+ish pages on my reader, however, my doubts crept in after I hit the 30% mark and my reading process faltered badly.
The funny thing about Harber’s characters is that they don’t necessarily behave the way and say the things you expect them to. ‘Ricochet’ isn’t too different, but the result here is one of meandering dialogues, character responses that don’t address questions head-on and a prolonging of the advancement of plot. The less-than-succinct delivery meant that a fair bit of editing—for structure, for the huge number of writing errors that really, really shouldn’t be there at this stage and for the roundabout dialogue—would have streamlined the ‘Ricochet’ into a read that had less stutters and abrupt lulls as action scenes built and simply dwindled away.
Still, the amount of riddles, courtesy of the work of secondary characters (which happily ran interference both for plot and structure) and Adelia’s deliberate and frustrating-as-hell in-but-not-in stance with Colin tanked the whole story for me. If Adelia started out as a protagonist whom I admired, this soon changed after the extraordinary lengths she went to obfuscate what she’d been doing all along in Mayhem when it became clear at a certain point that full disclosure (to the right parties) was needed.
I’m all for strong and independent heroines, don’t get me wrong. But having said this before, I think this merits it being said again: such a character isn’t afraid to ask for help, is brave enough to know when she is out of her depth and doesn’t play games when time is of the essence—all of which I thought Adelia fell alarmingly short of when the situation called for it. Calling for blind trust from Colin when she wouldn’t give hers stank of hypocrisy, not to mention the mind-boggling idiocy she showed when she stubbornly decided to go at things on her own without asking for the support she knew she so badly needed. Acting the martyr (yes, a goodbye note was included) was not only unnecessary at this point, but the stupidity of it threw me off so much that I stopped reading completely as ‘Ricochet’ neared its climax.
From a fantastic start to a muddling finish that soured quickly, ‘Ricochet’ capped off what has been a disappointing series for me, more so because Harber’s earlier books had made me a stalwart fan of hers. Thus far, the later Titan books and the Delta series haven’t run any bells for me to the point where I’m almost wary to pick up another book of hers…for fear of being disappointed once again.
LOVE Cristin Harber, but this one fell short for me.
I have loved the Titan and Dwlta series so far. This book however felt more like something she didn't put her heart and soul in.
Great steamy scene in the beginning, but the actual storyline behind the couple seemed broken at times and very hard to follow.
I lost what was actually happebing a few timws and went back to figure out what I missed, only to discover I hadn't missed something.
Editing left a LOT to be desired. Wrong words, dulpicate words, etc were distracting. It almost was like no one actually read the whole book before it was published.
I will keep reading Cristin based on her past books - but this one just didn't feel like her past books.
Cristin Harber wraps up the Delta series with Ricochet by throwing us right in the middle of the ocean and bombarding us with waves of heart-melting goodness, mind-numbing twists, heart-shattering moments, and heart-happy giggles. No matter what emotion dished out, it was always intense.
Adelia's mix of innocence and strength drew me to her to where I felt more inspired to be like her in several ways. She definitely intrigued me with her passion, her spirit.
Colin - boy, did I fall hard for him! Not only as the hero in the story, but with who he was as a brother and leader. He really came into his own, learned some lessons, and so quietly settled into my heart in such a way I know he'll always be there.
I always adore getting to escape into the Titan world and (re)connect with characters who become like precious friends to me - the feelings of family, loyalty, devotion, and love are always present - whether it's in the form of Winters handing out advice, Jared embodying "boss man", Javier giving big-brother orders, or Titan surrounding and protecting it's own.
Delta: Ricochet is an insanely intense and twisted, sweet and beautiful story - so totally worth the laughter and swoons, the heart attacks and tears. I stinking loved every moment!! You don't want to miss out.
Highly disappointing. There were numerous editing errors in this book. Sometimes multiple errors per page. It's hard to believe the editing team cleared this for publication. Colin and Adelia's story was flat and the action disjointed. Gloria Astor was so anti climatic. Don't even understand why the father's death was made part of the story. I am a fan of this author but this book did not cut it for me.
This book wraps up the Delta series and pulls you right back into the world of Delta/Titan and Mayhem. Adelia and Colin have such a rapport and chemistry that was a treat to read. I enjoyed every word and didn't want to put it down to go to sleep or work. Happy, nail biting, sad, action, sexy, and adventurous, Cristin has done it again... 5 stars!
Cristin Harber is one of my all-time favorite authors. She’s at the very top of my list in the military/suspense/romance genre. I’m a HUGE fan.
BUT...I felt like this book was a bit of a hot mess. And as a result, I think my review may be a bit of the same.
As usual, Ms. Harber began Delta: Ricochet right in the middle of action. I love that about her books!
Colin is a member of Delta team - a black ops organization that swoops in wherever injustice occurs and saves the day. The majority of their missions involve rescuing women and children from human traffickers. It’s an extremely important job, but one that exposes him to the worst of humanity. Add in some doubts about his place on the team (is he there because of his parents’ political positions?), and Colin has a lot rolling around inside his head.
Adelia is the adopted daughter of Tex, a member of the Mayhem MC. She’s also the sister of one of Colin’s teammates. Having been sold herself as a young girl, she’s now created a network of people who “purchase” girls and women - but then take them in and set them up for a new life of freedom in the US. The sticky part of this is that she launders Mayhem money to finance this operation.
When Adelia’s scheme is discovered, she’s determined to do what she can to end the trafficking ring before she suffers the consequences of betraying Mayhem. Colin just wants to help - in any way he can - but Adelia’s determined not to bring him, or anyone else she loves, down with her.
Unfortunately, for the first couple of chapters, I had a hard time keeping track of exactly what was happening, and who was doing what. Things got better as the story went on, but I seemed to return to a feeling of confusion multiple times. It’s the first time that’s ever happened to me with one of Ms. Harber’s books. Also not working in this book’s favor is the plot line which was very similar to Savage Secrets (Titan #4) - only with a heroine I had a hard time understanding. It made NO sense to me that Adelia wouldn’t clue Colin into what she was involved in - ESPECIALLY after Colin gets caught in the cross hairs.
And as much as I love Cristin Harber and her stories, I do feel like I need to mention how disappointed I am with the actual writing of this book. I am able to overlook a certain number of typos. But there were so many in this one it was hard to ignore. Seriously, several of her sentences didn’t even make sense (things like “Colin swiped his tongue swiped across her ear lobe as she arched…” were frequent, along with missing letters and the wrong tense of a word). After all the books she’s published, I expect a certain amount of polish from such an experienced writer, and to have to pay to read a book that seems like it missed a stage or two of the proofreading process is...disappointing. She even thanks an editing company in her acknowledgments, and I think she needs to ask for her money back.
However, even though there were several things that didn’t work for me, Cristin Harber further solidified my opinion that she writes the best heroes. They are macho and manly, but there’s none of the ridiculous alpha-male antics you’d typically see from a military man. These are heroes who know who they are and aren’t afraid to tell - or show - their women how they feel. And I love them. No matter what happens in the story, this author always has the BEST, most swoony heroes!
Ms. Harber’s new books are ones I put on my calendar and anxiously await the release of. I’ve read every single book she’s published. There aren’t that many authors in that category for me. While I know not every book by a favorite author is going to rock my world, it still doesn’t make it any easier when a book falls so short of my expectations. There were some things I really liked in this book, but even more things I really didn’t, and it pains me greatly to write a less-than-gushing review. I’m sure I’ll get over my disappointment with this book at some point, but today is not that day.
Colin Cole has worked his butt off to prove to the higher ups that he's more than just a diplomat's son. Now second in command at Delta, he's determined to make sure his team knows he got there on skill, not contacts. He never anticipated the beautiful Meyhem MC princess Adelia rocketing into his world, or the trouble she'd bring. See, Adelia's been sneaking behind her family's back, skimming money from the club to save girls sold into the world of human trafficking. She's laid her life on the line to rescue girls like herself, but when she's caught, the backlash is immediate and brutal. Now Adelia's on the run, not just from Meyhem, but also from the very monster she's been hunting. Can she bring the bogeyman to justice or will she be just another casualty in the war?
I love me some Cristin Harber. She's usually second to none in the romantic suspense category with this world she's created, and with book 4 in the Delta series, an offshoot of her fabulous Titan series. I adored DELTA: RICOCHET because of the attention it paid to human trafficking and the fact that there's people all over the world who have dedicated their lives to stopping it. However, I was truly hoping that the book will be tightened up by the time it hit the market, but judging by other reviews, that didn't happen. I have an ARC full of plot holes and major mistakes, things that make little sense and conversations that just went nowhere. Adelia is doing good deeds, but she's going about it in one of those "stupid D list horror movie heroine" kind of ways, making all sorts of mistakes and not asking for help when she needs it. Colin and Adelia aren't the greatest couple, but considering they don't spend a ton of quality time together, that makes sense. Instead, I like this story more for the message that every little bit helps when you fight monsters, and that allies can be found in the most unlikely places. I also like the friendship factor, the suspense and the action throughout the story (though the monster's final scene is pretty head-scratching and anticlimactic). I'm giving this story a 3, but if Ms. Harber fixes the glaring errors, I might bump this up to a 4.
Bottom Line: No OM/OW or sharing; condom use; no BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; violence, murder.
Adelia has not had an easy life. She was lucky to be saved from traffickers by the Mayhem MC and adopted by them. She later found her biological brother, Javier, who is on Delta Team. And her best friends have found love with Delta and Titan men.
Colin is her brother’s teammate. He is the responsible, boy scout, capable operative with leadership skills. They come from different worlds, but they have had their eyes on each other since she kind of pulled a gun on him while back.
But just as they are getting closer and spending time together at a team wedding, they have to go back to their lives in separate locations. And some of the work that Adelia has been doing on the side catches up with her. Now she is in trouble, but does not want to get them involved in her mess. She wants to protect Colin. But she underestimates the power of the men of Delta and Titan when one of the women they claim as their own is in danger. They will come for her whether she wants them to or not. But can they catch up to a woman on a mission?
There are layers of secrets, lies, omissions...a lot of danger, action, and suspense. From the good to the bad to the questionable, they are immersed in a dangerous and volatile situation for the right reasons.
I loved Colin. He was a bad a** but good guy. And Adelia was a survivor and strong heroine. They both had big hearts and good intentions. But they were surrounded by chaos while also building a connection and relationship, so I would have liked for them to have had a bit more time to explore that.
It’s Titan, Delta, Mayhem, monsters, and a big stinkin’ hot mess...and it is going to take some minor miracles to uncover all the players and keep them all safe. There was so much going on towards the end that I sometimes had to stop, think, reread to catch it all. She definitely ended the Delta series with a tension-filled climax. I am looking forward to more spin offs from this author and still hope to see some of my favorites making cameos.
I generally love the books in Cristin Harber’s Military Romance series about Titan/Delta. Unfortunately, it seems that Cristin is starting to move away from the guns and ammo and into a little less intense territory. Delta: Ricochet was still good and well written. I was just disappointed that the Delta unit was involved but they played more of a secondary role. And if you don’t really know what I mean when I refer to Delta or Titan, think of them as a private military group with unlimited resources.
Delta: Ricochet focuses on Delta team member Colin Cole and Mayhem Biker Club adopted family member Adelia. Adelia’s younger brother is married to Cole’s sister. Plus, Adelia is the best friend of Seven who is the Mayhem Biker Club Princess and is getting married to another Delta team member. In short, there is a lot of crossover between Delta and Mayhem. The lines become further blurred when human trafficking gets in the way of the budding romance between Colin and Adelia. Loyalty and trust become a major issue that threatens the lives of the members in each group. Adelia has a secret that no one will see coming and once that secret is out, Colin has to do everything within his power to keep Adelia alive.
There are a lot of good things about Delta: Ricochet. The sex was intense and the mystery leading up to the climax was commendable. My only issue is that the military component of this whole transaction was underutilized. There was no real intense fight scenes or true tactical situations that I have come to love in relation to Cristin Harber. The main focus was on Adelia. While, I can appreciate girl power, I would have liked to see that girl power paired with weapons, hand to hand combat, etc. Outside of a rocket launcher blowing up a house, there just wasn’t much fire-power infused in this alleged Military Romance. Maybe I expected too much.
**Received a copy of the book from the author and voluntarily reviewed.**
Good lord, from the first words, Delta: Richochet thrusts you into the story of Colin and Adelia.
Colin's singular focus has been work. Be it during his stint in the military or as a Delta operative, Colin's not wavered from his path. He's dedicated to the point of denial--denial of his heart's wants and needs. Until Adelia.
Adelia's working in plain sight. Working to save women and children from human traffickers. Working the money around Mayhem's various accounts. Covering her tracks and protecting her support network, until her treachery is discovered. No one steals from Mayhem Motorcycle Club and lives. Forcing Adelia on the run and desperate to figure out who's really on her side and who's working against her before it's too late.
I love the budding romance between Adelia and Colin. It's sexy, smart and totally swoony. Adelia's past hinders her ability to trust, but Colin has worked under her skin and into her panties . . . err . . . heart and he's not willing to let go. But Adelia's got deep secrets. Stuff she's hiding and things that could lead to not only her death but the death of others if they're found out to be a part of her network. I loved how the Delta and Titan teams rallied to figure out what was really happening, what was real versus a calculated cover-up. I especially loved the comeuppance delivered to many who absolutely deserved it!
Delta:Ricochet kept me on the edge of my seat and my heart in my throat until the very last word. ~ Missy, 5 stars
Delta: Ricochet (Delta #4) by Cristin Harber is one action-packed suspenseful romantic read. From the open scene of a mission that goes strangely twisted to the HEA at the end this is one thrill a minute ride. This story could be taken straight from current events with the focus on human trafficking. Ricochet finishes up the Delta series with an intense emotional relationship between Colin and Adelia where plans go wrong with multiple enemies, secrets, and loyalties tested. Adventurous but wistfully romantic, too, I really am saddened to see the series end, but surely Cristin Harber has another team ready and waiting to steal our hearts. They just may need backup from the Titan and Delta teams so maybe we will see them again. The publisher/author gave me a complimentary ARC of the book which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Colin and Adelia story was very good! There were editing issues which became distracting, but the plot was so solid that I still could give it a 4 star rating. Adelia had been through so much in her short lifetime. Colin has been a great secondary character throughout this series so I was very excited to read his story. I love the fact that Xavier and Sofia we're in this as well as the rest of the Titan gang.
Colin and Adelia are both twisted up with their pasts. Both try to keep the other at arms length but the passion between these two burns red hot! I loved the scene on the rooftop at the wedding - so sweet and intimate!
I really enjoyed this book. I was given an ARC to read for an honest review. I love how this books sets up the new series that are now being written. It will be fun to see Colin in the new Aces series.
Uhmm not my favorite book. Was hard to get into for half of the book. Then seems it got better like two different author's. Grammar not good through out book but you could read through.
All other books in this series great, I won't quit bc this one not up to par
I always have a blast reading Cristin Harber's books, so I knew I'd love "Ricochet." I even pre-ordered and couldn't wait till it downloaded to my Kindle! I freely admit that I up late 2 or 3 nights to read, but it was totally worth dragging my sleepy butt out of bed a few hours later. (And my coworkers probably wondered why I was sleepy yet NOT cranky. HA!)
In any case, if you haven't read the other "Delta" books, you should, because you kind of need to in order to get the most out of all the details and plot lines here. There's a lot going on, and you need to pay attention. (This is a good thing, trust me.) As always, there's lots of action - of the firepower variety as well as the Romantic kind - but the best thing, if you ask me, are Colin and Adelia.
I know that there's a lot of readers who just love an "Alpha" man, but they usually seem to mean a total jerk: a guy who's bossy and always seems to think he knows what's best for the Leading Lady, telling her what she thinks and feels, even when she's telling him the opposite... and then she ends up agreeing with him in the end. (Drives me crazy.) To me, that's not sexy, that's annoying!
Give me a guy like Colin, please-and-thank-you! THAT is the kind of man that says, "Alpha" to me. He's a born leader, but doesn't need to brag about his accomplishments; wants to take care of others, but doesn't take away their choices; he's deeply loyal and honest, willing to listen. You wouldn't think that you'd find a sweet man in a book like this, but it works and I ADORE him.
Colin tightened his hold around her. "A long time ago, someone, I can't remember who, once told me that some touches will be inscribed in a memory, that you'll always be able to recall the moment."
See? Sweet moments.
Not quite what you'd expect when the book is about a super-secretive para-military group member in love with a biker MC chick, and the plot involves human trafficking. Then again, this IS Cristin Harber, and anything can happen. You just gotta have a little faith, because it's a wild ride.
This is the last of the Delta series. At first I was totally confused. I’m not saying it’s a bad story but I just didn’t understand the beginning. The dialogue seemed to rushed to me. But then the action and the chase begins and it will leave you breathless. Adelia was sold by her father and Tex, a member of the Mayhem MC, bought her and took her to live with him. He raised her as his daughter and taught her to take care of herself. She is keeping secrets, she has been rescuing trafficked women and children and setting them free. Colin is on the Delta team and is about to be made second in command. His only goal in life has been his job. He has admired Adelia from afar but she’s his brother in laws sister. They connect at a wedding and everything changes for him. When the club finds out she’s been using their money to buy the women, they put a hit out on her. Nobody steals from the club. Now she’s on the run from her family, a hitman, and the main person over the human trafficking ring. She has to do something to stop the “monster” and the only thing she knows is to kill it. But another plan comes together and she sets it in motion before she is killed. Colin is right behind her but will he get there to save her from the club and herself? Totally sexy bikers and Delta guys, and a biker babe. Seriously sick people, sexy times, shootings, and a woman on the run. * RECEIVED AN ARC FROM THE AUTHOR AND VOLUNTARILY READ AND REVIEWED IT *
This was an amazing action packed suspenseful romance that had so many layers going on that I have to read again in case I missed something. Tex from the Mayheim MC saved Adelia after her father tried to sell her by buying her twice in an child slave auction in Mexico. He took her back to the States and raised her at the MC compound as his daughter along with Lenora his girlfriend who was a powerful lawyer. As Adelia grew up her mission in life was to save other girls from being auctioned like Tex saved her. With Lenora and Seven's help they set up an elaborate network using Mayhem's money, unknowingly, to buy girls then set them free. In the meantime Seven marries Jax, a Titan man and at the wedding Adelia romantically connects with Colin another Titan contractor. The story becomes involved when Mayhem are all after Adelia when the MC puts a hit out for her because they think she broke one of their codes. As a final act Adelia pledges to take down the woman who is the head of this slave trade business and coincidentally Titan is hired by the monster's security to guard her against this threat. Colin tries to protect her when she is on the run which then gets Titan involved when he gets shot. How Jared has Titan work through these situations and help all his men and keep his Titan family intact while Adelia ends up doing the right thing in the end without having to kill anyone. Colin and Adelia get their happily ever after in this most romantic touching action packed story. I highly recommend this series and cannot wait for the next release.
Wow! Delta: Ricochet is book #4 in the Delta series, but can be read as standalone. For full entertainment I'd recommend to read the Titan series before you start Delta.
I was provided with an ARC by the author.
Delta: Ricochet tells the story of Colin and Adelia. He's fighting human traffickers from the shadows, while the heroine (once a victim herself) does the best she can from the inside of the MC. Both groups have their secrets, but to reach their goal they have to trust.
I couldn't love this couple more - both characters are funny and heart melting. While Cristin Harber's books are packed with action and suspense, she's able to write a story that is both: steamy hot and romantic!
might contain a *SPOILER*
And I really, really loved the last section of the book: Book Club Questions What a great idea - it gave me some time to recap and reflect!
I've been waiting what seems like eons for Colin. EONS, I tell ya. And He didn't disappoint. Of course he wouldn't, I wasn't really worried. ;) Harber's talent shines through the words like always. She can pack so much action, drama and suspense into one book it amazes me. It truly blows my mind how she can weave such an intricate World. Not just one story, but an entire world is packed into her stories. Even though Ricochet is a standalone novel, the characters, the world, bleed through in to her other novels making for an amazing reader experience. My warning for this book are basically the same as all other Harber novels; sex, language, bad guys, violence, gangs, drugs, guns, alcohol, more sex. Ya know, all the fun stuff. As always, Cristin gives us amazing characters and a flawless romance. I am sad that this is the final book in the Delta series, but I am looking forward to what is next in the Titan World. I can't wait to see what the #sneakyhooker is up to next.
GENRES: romantic suspense, military romance AGES: 18+ WARNINGS: graphic sex and violence. Explicit language, heavy drinking, implied drug use. Gang and gang related actions. SERIES: yes! RATING: 5/5
Cristin Harber has done it again with Ricochet, her fourth stand alone in her Delta series. I am not sure how she does it but she manages to pull me in from the start each and every time and doesn't let go. I love how she intricately weaves multiple storylines across her series as well as shares her memorable characters.
Colin is caught between a rock and a hard spot in this story. He has the opportunity to boost his career, but his new found personal life, might just destroy it. As he decides which side of the line he will stand upon, he can't help but fall further into the depths of the crazy chaotic world Cristen Harber has created.
Adelia has been sold into human trafficking, not once but twice in her lifetime. The man who got her out is now part of the club that will take her out. Mayhem has a code and Adelia broke it. But hopefully her efforts were worth it in the end, it if meant saving one person's life.
I absolutely enjoyed this book. I can't wait to read more from this incredible author!
Cristin Harber never fails to exceed expectations when she releases a new book. Delta Ricochet has your heart pumping from the first page and keeps the adrenaline going until the last page. This book is about Colin and Adelia. Colin is a career military man that has his eyes on the prize of a promotion in Titan. That is until Adelia walked in his life and walked out. Adelia is part of Mayhem MC club. She was sold as child by her father but Mayham saved her. In turn, she is saving other women and children from trafficking. No good deed goes unturned though as how she goes about saving these women is discovered and a price in on her head from two fronts. A person returned from the dead, a grenade launcher and a shoot out ensue. Will Colin be able to save Adelia? Will Adelia be able to carry out her "Monster hunt"? You will have to read this exciting new book in the Delta series!!
I was given this ARC in return for an honest review.
After using money from Mayhem’s accounts (Motorcycle Club) to save women from human traffickers, Adelia gets caught and her life is over – it’s the code of the Club – never steal from Mayhem. On the run, Colin has to help with this mess but she continues to keep secrets from him. Delta and Titan teams gather to help clean up this situation.
This is an action packed, nail biting, can’t put the book down story. Heroes are strong, sexy, alpha men along with strong and loving women who stand by their side. Even with all the hotness between Colin and Adelia there is such a sweet romance between the two. I love how this author brings in characters from Titan and Delta and we get to see what their families have been up to since the last book. This is a great ending to this series and I’m excited for the next series by this author. She has such a talent for coming up with new, fresh and exciting stories
I am a huge fan of CH, but I admit this was my least favorite book of any series she has written to date. I started reading it a while ago then couldn't get in to it and wasn't sure if it was my reading mood or the actual story. I picked it up again earlier this week and it has taken me a week to read it, it was like forcing myself to read. First, the book is riddled with grammar and editing errors. It became almost like a drinking game for me, spotting the errors. Second, it took maybe half of the book before I cared about any of the characters and even then, eh...It was a mess and all over the place and the final show down with Gloria Astor was anticlimactic. There was no justice done, there was no followup with the reporter and no one heard the tape she painstakingly set up for those she loved to hear. I am not sure ACES is in my future if this is what I will be reading.
but slightly irritating as I couldn't see how Adelia (our main female character) made some of the decisions that she did. The story had a great plot and as always is written well (although I noticed a couple of rare typos). Adelia is one of those characters that you wanted to know more of in previous books. Colin, the male lead, seems to have a few issues which were nice to see play out and showed that a person can be slightly vulnerable but still remain strong and focused. Why four stars? For me there were a few unanswered questions and a couple of threads started that weren't continued. They don't spoil the books enjoyment though. Looking forward to the new series too.
OMG! WOW! This is an edge of your seat story. What a thrilling story. Didn't realize Colin and Adelia had the hots each other. My heart went into my throat when Adelia was found out. Lenora was there to help her when she could without getting caught herself. I think they fell in love with each other when they were on the roof of Jax and Seven's wedding. From the moment Adelia was caught the danger escalated. With Colin was shot, my heart went out to him. Adelia was wise to not kill "the monster". She got what was coming to her. Glad the death sentence was lifted off of Adelia. Once all the threats were off of Adelia, these two found their happily ever after. FANTASTIC job Cristin! I would highly recommend this book.
I’m not sure if this series has outlived its life, but this book just wasn’t that good. There were loose ends and questions left unanswered (where was Seven as the world closed in on Adelia?), among other things. There were missing words, duplicate words and extra words which frequently interrupted the reading rhythm.
I didn’t feel the chemistry between Colin and Adelia as I did with many of the other Titan and Delta pairs and Adelia’s character eventually became very annoying.
I expected more but I’m really disappointed in this book. It’s just not that good.
