Shaken and bewildered from her encounter with the giant grizzlies in Hiller Canyon, Alaskan Sheriff's Deputy Jen Marsh wakes in her hospital bed to find herself inundated with questions and suspicion from government officials uncertain of her story.
Believing her town sits on the edge of annihilation, and yet stripped of her badge and rank, Marsh is once again called upon by the one FBI agent who believes her, desperate to save the lives of government scientists placed in harm's way out in the canyon.
It's another battle against the mammoth grizzlies that nearly killed Jen before, and with the help of some local, experienced hunters she's determined to put an end to the 50-foot tall beasts. Heavily armed, they climb aboard a chopper bound for the fight of their lives. But, not all is as it seems in deadly Hiller Canyon, and in this inter-species war for survival, dangerous predators are in plentiful supply.
I’ve read both books now in the GRIZ series. The editing in this one was much better than the last. I would have rated it 5 stars but now I’ve been through both books and I still do not know where the Giant Grizzlies come from!
In Part 2 of this novel Deputy Marsh finds herself up to her rear end in trouble. No one believes her but by the time you finish this novel you will be able to make some good guesses about what is going on. The series is worth reading.
