Abbott is dealing with the fallout of becoming Master of Maryland and must figure out what to do with the few dozen blood-bonded shapeshifters he inherited.

One of the wolves catches his eye, but if Abbott learned anything from his brief time with Kirsten, it's that he's long had relationships with people obligated to do his will and he needs to change the pattern. Still, he moves the young man into his home to begin learning some of Abbot’s soon-to-retire housekeeper’s duties.

Spencer was abducted at twelve and turned into a pleasure slave — bitten to become a wolf who could stand up to abuse and live, but he’s never had to control the animal inside him. His Master kept both Spencer and his wolf on a tight leash. Spencer’s new Master has different rules and expects Spencer to think for himself — a scary prospect for someone who’s done nothing but follow orders for so long. Still, he’s ordered to help people instead of harming them, so Spencer does everything he can to please his new Master.

Abbott can see an iron will and high morals in Spencer, but releasing the blood-bond enslaving him is impossible — the boy’s never even met his wolf and would have no hope of controlling the feral animal inside him. However, Abbott won’t take things past a cordial relationship with the just-turned eighteen-year-old while he’s still a slave.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Candace Blevins writes urban fantasy, paranormal romance, epic fantasy contemporary BDSM romance, and two kick-ass motorcycle club series. She’s published more than fifty books. Candace lives with her husband of twenty-four years and their two teenaged daughters. The family’s beloved, goofy, retired racing greyhounds are usually at her side as she writes, quietly keeping her company. Or sometimes not so quietly.

Her urban fantasy series, Only Human, gives us a world where weredragons, werewolves, werelions, three different species of vampires, and a variety of other mythological beings exist.

Candace's various paranormal romance series are all sister series to the Only Human series, and give some secondary characters their happily ever after.

Her Dark(ish) Faerie Tale series gives us a close-up and personal look at Queen Mab, and her Dark Underbelly series is, as you’d expect, dark and (if you’re a little twisted) oh-so-yummy.

Her contemporary Safeword series gives us characters who happen to have some extreme kinks. Relationships can be difficult enough without throwing power exchange into the mix, and her books show characters who care enough about each other to fight to make the relationship work. Each couple in the Safeword series gives the reader a different take on the lifestyle.

The dark side, as well as the soft and sweet side, of Candace Blevins shows through with Leashed. A story about a man coming to terms with how he’s lived his life and learning to change his ways and a man who is willing to learn a different way of life than what was thrust upon him at an early age.

The Abbott has always come across as domineering from the day that we met him. It’s why he lost Kirsten. He is drawn to Spencer but knows that he cannot keep treating others like possessions so the blood-bond between them can hurt them. Finding a way to make Spencer open up on his own, feel like a valuable person, legally breaking the blood-bond are his first priorities. Then, and only then, will he take him to his bed.

Spencer wants to be his own man but has no idea how not to be “owned”. Abbott is showing him a different way of life, he trusts him to take care of his flock and encourages him, daily, to study and learn all that he can. He is nothing like his last Master but still feels like he has to hold back. There are just certain memories that he’s unable to share, jealousies he needs to confront. He loves helping Abbott, he is honored that he thinks that he can help with Holly, he is privileged to be taking over the flock, thrilled Abbott found a way to break the blood-bond but keep his wolf leashed, but he is not sure he can give him what he needs.

As they get closer, Spencer finds out that Abbott can give him what he needs without taking away his dignity. He meets Kirsten and knows that he could let go of his jealousy. Abbott is assured, after a severe punishment, that Spencer will talk to him, he’s also working to letting him make decisions for himself or to talk it out with him instead of just doing what he thinks is best for Spence. As they work through their problems, the love and trust between them shines through. And, yes, so does Abbott’s sweet and soft side as he gives Spence more than what he needs.

Candance Blevins is the queen of writing BDSM but, even though there are elements of it in this story, it is Kink … there is no negotiation, no safewords, no consents. When Abbott and Spencer do come together, it’s volatile … Abbotts dominance combined with Spences submission is beautifully written. I also love that Kirsten O’Shea’s Universe, The Chattanooga Supernaturals and The Rolling Thunder MC are all represented in the story. It’s wonderful how she ties all these series together. You can tell through the telling of the story and how well it’s written that Candace Blevins is an author that takes pride in her work, knows her subjects and writes with a hunger to please her readers.

Buy this book now and be prepared for an erotic thrill ride. For those who have read the Only Human Series, Abbott finally receives his own book. This book can be read as a standalone. It is highly recommended to read the Only Human Series first because it sets up the reason why Abbott behaves the way he does.

Abbott is an ancient vampire master who owned quite a bit of the South Eastern region of the States. He just recently added another territory and with it, a slew of abused and abusive shifter slaves. Abbott maintains a strict policy of consent. The slaves he receives were not only blood bonded against their will, but forced into becoming a werewolf. This is a disaster waiting to happen. Whilst working through the mess left by the former Master of Maryland, Abbott is intrigued by one slave, Spencer. Spencer is a quiet and unassuming slave who tries to stay under the radar. The problem? Vampires can read minds. What Abbott discovers in Spencer's mind is astonishing. Spencer should be a complete wreck of a shifter. Instead, he's developed independent thought and a morale code that is unheard of in slave turned at the tender age of twelve.

Both Spencer and Abbott are fantastic in this story. Ms. Blevins shows another side of Abbott that many fans have been wanting and hoping to see. This is the Abbott who showed a hint of vulnerability in Only Human. Abbott who learned that just because he has the power to make someone bend to his will, doesn't mean he should. Spencer is Abbott's second chance at finding the elusive connection he has long since given up experiencing again. The courting dance between Spencer and Abbott is sweet and tender. It is unexpected of Abbott and makes his sadistic side even more intense. Spencer balances Abbott's tendency to be heavy handed.

The sexual tension between Spencer and Abbott is delicious and intoxicating. Ms. Blevins does what she best. She heats up the pages with erotic edge play. The build up is filled with restrained passion. When she finally lets her characters orgasm, it is a shove off a high cliff. The sexual free fall is a rush of pleasure that hits kinky readers in all the right spots. The BDSM in the store is dare I say mild, for Ms. Candace. It leans more towards the sweet and tender rather than the cruel and sadistic. Yet even in this softer side, it is a twist of sadism as Spencer is yearning for rough sex, only to be kept in denial.

This story is more than just a love story. It is also more than explosively hawt kinky sex. The plot is a character growth journey for both Spencer and Abbott. This progressive style of writing is appealing to me because it ads another rich layer in this supernatural world. Ms. Blevins loving adds another missing piece to this world and it fits so well. I can hardly wait for the next sizzling piece. I also enjoyed the tie ins between the different series and the cross over characters. I love seeing cross over characters because it feels like I'm being visited by old friends. It also renews my sense of delight in the other books and I rush to re-read them again. Leash is highly recommended to m/m paranormal readers who are kinky and enjoy sweet torture mixed with rough love.

*I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Leashed is the story of Spencer, now in the care of the Abbott. While Spencer is struggling to deal with the horrific things done to him during his former life as a sex-slave from an early age, Abbott is teaching him to be himself, to learn and become a person, one who will be a free man.

I was pleasantly surprised with this story. Abbott is usually a very fierce, intense and unapologetic frightening character but showed his softer side in caring for Spencer.
It was great reading how Abbott made Spencer grow and become a confidant strong man while Spencer confronts Abbott with his own shortcomings, who apologizes and promises to do better.

The story is told in dual POV, alternating between Spencer and Abbott, with some hot sex scenes between them.

I have not yet read Candace Blevins's the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club Series but they are present in this book, so I will probably start reading them soon.

There's something about Abbott that draws me to him, he is very powerful but I feel there might just be a softer side to him that no one gets to see....that is until Spencer.

In Leashed we get to know more about Spencer and his relationship with Abbott. Spencer is one of the wolves Abbott inherited when he took over a new territory - I wont go into any further explanation in case you haven't read that much in the previous books yet - but I will say that there is one HARD LIMIT I have and if you have followed my reviews or know me from challenges on Goodreads you will know what that Hard Limit is and although it was discussed briefly thankfully we are not subjected to reading about it in full detail because I really don't think I would be able to handle it especially after knowing Spencer's age when the different events took place. I am sooooo glad he is with Abbott now, although many think he is a hardass I think he is just the person Spencer needs.

When you live a long time, as Abbott has, and you've been hurt in the not too distant past, like Abbott has, you tend to be a little overly cautious. Abbott knows what is between him and Spencer is different, and more, than something fleeting. He wants to do this right though, and that isn't easy, and leaves him open to Spencer's whims. He is determined though, and he takes the steps needed to get his way. He isn't infallible, and while he makes mistakes, he does what he can to make things right with Spencer

Spencer may have been made a slave, but he has learned how to stay himself in that world. He thought he was trading one Master for another, but he feels for Abbott. He has been hurt though, and while he doesn't want to believe Abbott is like his previous Master, he doesn't know anything else. As things progress with Abbott, he is the one hiding more and more, but Abbott is having none of that. Spencer has to lay himself bare so Abbott can know all of him

There was a lot of depth, feelings, and darkness in this story, but even with it, you felt Spence shining out through the pages. Abbott is dark, a shadow, and he fits there, but Spence is the light that is needed for the shadow to exist. They fit together so perfectly, but they have so much to learn about each other. What they both knew, how they both acted and reacted, doesn't work with them, so they have to go against their own instincts. They do, because they are committed to each other, and the love they share is so evident

I loved their story, how their kinks fit, how they worked together in Abbott's world, and cannot wait to see more of Spence, and maybe his wolf, someday

Although this was suggested as a stand-alone BOM read, it isn’t really. It needs prior books to give you an understanding of everything up to date, the other characters mentioned, their roles too within this created world and group of paranormal beings.

Initially, story focus is on Holly, meth addict, rescued and receiving rehab...but then she is dropped and hardly mentioned again, except to say she is under another’s jurisdiction...what the...why tell us part of one person’s story to go off at a tangent and write her story later in the series and revert to Abbott and Spencer’s story. Spencer, changed at some past point to werewolf, goes from side character to main one, the submissive in this TPE story with Abbott, the vampire, as dominant, and sadist. It is supposed to be about openness, trust and giving to each other as Mm lovers and partners. It could have been handled better, it feels rushed and some things glossed over (thanks Tiki for this apt phrase). It has more of tell, than show through events, feelings and emotions. The character development could be better, and in many prior books of Candace Blevins this has been covered better than in this story.

Therefore, three stars from me, and for full knowledge start the series at the beginning.

Crazy love for Chattanooga Supernatuals series! Candace did her thang dropped a hook and grabbed me, kept me through the whole story. Loved loved loved it.

I'd been waiting to know more about the mysterious powerful Vampire, he always seemed an enigma to me. (He and Nathan) this is a chance to glimpse at both sides of him.

To live as long as he has and gained what he as by not just ruthlessness but smart planning and negotiating.

I loved Spenc. his personality and his strength even when he didn't see it in himself. Its amazing how when something is so traumatic our physce can bury it deep. With all that Spenc has gone through he still remains steadfast in his own morals. got to tip your hat off too him.

Once again loved that we got to see our other fav characters. Will wonder about Holly and Bran.
This was a great story the detail and hot scenes balanced each other wonderfully. Enjoy

I enjoyed this a lot. I had a little trouble getting into it, but I’m glad I persevered. This is certainly an interesting world that Abbott and Spencer live in. The sex is pretty hot. There is some MF sex, but it’s only one scene and it’s Spencer and Abbott sharing a woman.

I'm so glad that characters from previous books, that I wanted to know more about, are getting their own stories. Abbott, a quirky 4ooo year old Master vampire wants Spencer, a young wolf shifter and survivor of violence. They both know what they want, but the road to each other is bumpy and rough. The M/M sex is a mind blowing BDSM, heavy on the SM! If either bothers you then this read is not for you. Candace Blevins writing is smooth flowing and very engaging. I definitely will be reading all of this series and more!! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

While not exactly what I was expecting for Abbott's relationship, though I have learned from reading Ms. Blevin's books not to assume my expectations will bear fruit, I really enjoyed seeing this side of a usually very intense and almost frightening character. Written in the first person, it provides more than a glimpse into exactly how Abbott works through his feelings, his duties and his obligations, in a way that further heightens the story. I'm glad he has found a partner, particularly one he can trust to be that all-things partner, though I have to admit to a twinge of...loss I guess? that it's not Kirsten. It's actually Kirsten's loss though, the uncompromising person she is!

I loved watching Spencer's growth and cleansing, both figurative and literal, I loved watching Abbott nature that with complete patience and acceptance and, once again, I loved watching it all happen from within Spencer's own head.

Is it possible to squeal melodramatically? Because I’m fairly sure I’ve done that. More than once. LEASHED was an amazing story and oh damn, more squeals. If you’ve read any of Candace Blevins’ paranormal stories, then you know they’re heavy on the details. So many things are going on the little bits are easy to sneak by. So much so that you might need to re-read the story immediately and then re-read all the other stories.

I absolutely loved watching Spencer’s evolution from scared, unsure blood-bonded slave to (mostly) self-assured lover. It was so much fun to see Abbott evolving, yet again, in terms of emotional maturity (avoiding spoilers). I adore this universe that she’s created and each story brings us into the minds and hearts of a different character while still keeping us apprised of what some of our favorite characters are up to.

On the fence about 1-clicking? Don’t be. It’s The Abbott. Don’t delay. He’s waiting.

Abbott is a Master Vampire that has just become Master of Maryland, like it or not. He always takes care of those under him and now has to decide what to do with those that now belong to him. One of those is a wolf shifter named Spencer. Leashed is their story. This is another great book by Candace Blevins. Abbott is one of my favorites and it was great to see him find someone to love and be loved in return. I can’t wait to see more about them in future books.

This was book 3 in the "Dark Underbelly" series. We finally get a book about Abbott the Master Vampire. Abbott is dealing with the fallout of taking over a new state Maryland, and taking over the slaves that the other vampire had one of the slaves Spencer he was been a sex slaves since he was 12 years old he was turned in to a wolf shifter but has never met his wolf. While walking through the park he see Holly passed out in front of a tree she is a meth addicted who he ask Spencer to help she is ungrateful and spoiled and doesn't want to listen so he gives her to Bran and I can't wait to read that book. Abbott begins to fall in love with Spencer who is kind even with all the things that he has been through he does his best to help everyone he is also a fast learner. Before having sex or feeding from him Abbott set's him free so that Spencer and come to him of his free will. In this book it has cameo of some of my favorite character's like Gen and Duke and Isaac and Cam I really want to read about Isaac and what he is, he is one of the Abbott's 4 trusted people. This book had some really hot sex scenes in it and the scene with Razor a member of the MC who is a Raven leather daddy was hot I can't wait to read his story. Spencer had some emotional issues that he hid in his mind even from himself he was also jealous of Kirsten and the relationship Abbott had with her. This was a good read this book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book about Holly and Bran.

Leashed

This was a good read but shorter than what I expected and I'm happy that Abbott found some one to love and make him happy. I like that some of the other characters had some parts just wished there was more of a storyline with all of them. Felt that parts of the storyline was a bit rushed thru when usually they're more of a story with the characters.

Who would have thought Abbott, the enigmatic Master of the City, would fall for an inherited slave boy.
Spencer, barely 18, was turned into a wolf at a very young age so he would survive the repeated abuse by his former Master and his "aquaintances".
When the latter was killed and Abbott took over as Master of Maryland, the title came with a bunch of blood-bonded slaves he had to take on. Among them Spencer.

Right from the beginning Abbott feels a connection to him and takes him into his house.
Over time, an almost sweet love story developes between them. Abbott, having learned a few relationship necessities after the breakup with Kirsten, is surprisingly "human" in his approach to their liaison. Not that he lost his dominant traits when it comes to sex. Not in the slightest as you will find out !!!

As the story unfolds we meet many old friends. At the RTMC compound, a ballet evening with Cam, Aaron and Sophia, not to forget Nathan, well who could forget Nathan, most of the upper Vampire echelon, and many more.

This is another little piece of the alluring Blevins-World. Short, but captivating from beginning to end.
I volontarily reviewed a ARC of this book.

I call it - the story of how Abbott got besotted :) and we love it !!!!

If there was a love story needed with this bunch of troublemakers in Chattanooga, then Abbott is your No. #1 !!!!! From the beginning, after we dealt with the possessive dragon, and bunch of wolves, bears and rest of the lot, Abbott was the one that we voted needed to have a HEA (in a MASTER vampire version of course ), and after he was dumped by Kristen (I've told Kristen, I still hold a grudge over that, and its still strong!) the Kinksters have spoken and demanded it.
This book is the perfect romance novel (when you put it into the mystical, vampire, Chattanooga magic realm) that even all the BDSM elements can't spoil it.
Spencer is a gem, and Candace once again proved that her second set of characters are the bosses and they RULE these books, cause all the tops have a ego issues but the partners save them and their asses as well as their hearts and souls.
I've loved everything about this story of Spencer and Abbott and I can't wait to read more as other story progress !

I received an ARC of this story in return for an honest review.
While Abbott and Spencer's story may seem like it's just M/m BDSM with some extreme kink, rough sex and sadism, it resonates more to me as a beautiful romance. Spencer is coming from being owned by one Master who had no consideration for him as his own being to being owned by a new Master he feels will be the same. He has always found a way to be as true to himself as possible under that ownership and Abbott can see that good in him. But based on his previous circumstances he finds it hard to trust that Abbott means what he says so he keeps hiding himself.
Abbott on the other hand believes in Spencer and wishes to make a true relationship with him including showing him to the world as his lover. He is trying to deal with Spencer in a way to be a partially equal while he fulfills his need to have his sex edgy and include flogging, belting and CBT etc...

Their character development keep you invested in this story and make you wish for a happy ending.

When I started reading Leashed, I just was not sure what to expect. Abbott has been a very intense character and I certainly wanted to learn more about him, how he works through making the decisions he has to make and of course his more personal feelings. Since he has become Master of a new area, he has inherited the supernaturals from there and one stands out above others.

Spencer is not like any other he has met, he feels a connection to him. As he gets to learn more about Spencer, he learns he has been through a lot and that he actually has a very strong both internally and externally.

I won’t go too much into the rest of the story to avoid spoilers, but let me tell you that this is a great love story, so much depth into their relationship as only this author can write. This whole world she’s created is so amazing, every time I read a new story it amazes me even more.

Hot little M/m read.

I have read some but by no means, all of the Kirsten O'Shea world and I have to this book was great! It can 100% be read as a standalone but the more you know the more you will enjoy it.

Abbott, the 4000-year-old vampire who controls most of the setting for this series, has always been a fascinating character for me and I am so happy to see a little more from his perspective. Spencer is a young shifter unable to fully control his wolf and a character, unlike any others we have encountered thus far.

This book was short, hot and dark. It is by no means for everyone, but if that is your thing you will love this story!

I was given an ARC of this book for a fair and honest review.

Oh how I *loved* this sexy and extremely thoughtful bite of urban fantasy yumminess. I've been intrigued by The Abbott before- loved him - been angry with him. And I felt we got to understand him better in this book. I still got angry with him for a moment, but that just means he is a well developed character. And oh how I adored Spencer!!!! I really hope we see more of him in future books. He was so loveable. So emotionally strong. So sexy. Sometimes Ms. Blevins' novellas are just about the moment- no HEA or HFNs even. And I don't mind reading those, but when I like characters (and Ms. Blevins knows how to write characters you get invested in) then I really want to see a happily ever after. It made my heart happy to see a HEA (or at least as much of a HEA as a vampire gets).

Abbott gets another chance at love!!!!! Okay, well, I hope you have read ALL the other books that Candace Blevins has written so you can appreciate all the cameos in this book. If you haven't, this book is still a lovely little story about how a VERY old vampire comes to find love with a young werewolf.

Spencer is a young man/werewolf who has a core of compassion that years of abuse did not extinguish. Abbott needs that in his life. Spencer needs what Abbott can provide - control of his wolf and love.

Candace Blevins has done an outstanding job of showing how their relationship evolves and works through some early issues. I look forward to seeing them in future books in her various series.

Abbott how you move me

I know I always give this author 5 stars, that's because she deserves it and more.

Abbott is a old vampire with great powers meets Spenser who has been abused most of his life and is a bonded slave The Abbott saved (or does Spenser save The Abbott?).

I wish this book could have been longer but I will always want more. It was hard to see it end but I know they have more to their story.

This book does contain M/m shifter kinky love and is quite delicious

The continuing story of Abbott, a master vampire. Having had his relationship end with Kristen, Abbott finds Spencer a little appealing. But he has learned from his breakup that he cannot control all aspects of his lover’s lives. But Spencer is just the opposite. He has never known independence and so Abbott must teach him to think and act for himself. What the benefits of having such a supple mind and body has its rewards.

I did not connect with this book. I had read the previous novellas in this Dark Underbelly series and rather enjoyed them. Not so much this one. Leashed is obviously a part of a much bigger world. The featured couple, Abbot and Spence, seemed to be overshadowed by characters from other books. They didn't stand out to me. It was almost like one of the other characters was telling their story. There was a moment or two, but . . . I don't know. I left me eh.

We all have different ties to people and things. Some good and some bad. But when you hand your leash to someone you hope is deserving it can be life altering. Such is the case of Spencer and Abbott. Spencer is 18 and Abbott is over 4000 but each can learn a thing or two from each other. If there is such a thing as a sweet BDSM novel this is it.

A hot little m/m novella in the continuing series. Abbott inherits the wolves from Maryland that he just became master of. One blood slave calls to his soul. Nicely done m/m partnership, I found it romantic with BDSM.

I’m so glad that with the mindspeaking I got to learn so much more about Abbott and Spencer!
They are learning together how to take their relationship to the next level.
It’s hard to explain, but this really is a remarkable story!

I received a free copy and this is my honest review.
