Northern Kingdom Book 2: Journey of Fallen Kings

Jean Ross runs for her life when mysterious creatures attack her camp in the remote Himalayas. Where are her friends, and who is this lunatic fanatic she comes across in her desperate flight to safety? He tells her his name is Shan, and he’s on a month-long quest to distant mountains. He’s not allowed contact with women, and he must carry all his supplies on his back, but one strange and dangerous event after another throws Jean into his path. They wind up traveling together into a world full of magic, mystery and passion.

Jean can’t decide if she likes Shan or hates him. He might be impossibly sexy with the body of a god. He might be overpoweringly, intoxicatingly hot in the sack, too. He’s commanding, conquering, possessive. Yep, she definitely hates him. So why does she keep falling under his spell? Why does she want to help him complete his quest against all odds? Is it really possible he can show her the way to a life sparkling with fulfillment, destiny, and new hope? Can Jean really accept a future as the hidden answer to a whole people’s hope for survival?

Looking forward to book 3
I received this book by the author for a honest opinion.
This book is book 2 and follows Jean who we had thought previously had been killed when their camp was attacked. As with the first book Jean runs and is transported to the eastern kingdom. This is where she meets and romances Shan the Prince of the east kingdom and who so happens to be a Dragon.
I enjoyed this book more then the previous which I'm going to view more as the platform to the series. I liked these characters and the journey to Shan becoming king and Shans familial ties. This book is starting to ramp up the pace of this series and has been left with some plot cliff hangers which I'm hoping will be resolved in book 3. A exciting read.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Northern Kingdom Book 2: The Journey of Fallen Kings by K.T. Harding is a series read that should be read in order to get the most entertainment value from this series. This story gives another perspective of the events that unfold at the campsite. We follow Jean and her introduction to the Eastern Kingdom and Shan on his Journey of Fallen Kings. Let me explain why I gave this book five stars despite the fact that it really isn't my normal reading groove. This series has the flavor of an epic storytelling along the lines of Lord of the Rings, Hunger Games and Pirates of the Caribbean. K.T. Harding has created a world of incredible characters and conflict, love, hate, honor and betrayal that will leave you breathless. When a book can pull you into a genre you don't normally read and have you wanting to continue reading the series, it's a sign of great storytelling and that's what K.T. Harding delivers with Northern Kingdom. While Book 1 is pretty much self-contained and could almost be read as stand alone, Book 2 has a cliffhanger ending and sets you up for Book 3. There is definitely tons of action, adventure, chaos, intrigue and characters that will have you scrambling for the next installment. I enjoyed this read even though I thought it got caught up in detail in a few spots. Overall, this is an excitingly entertaining read that will have you coming back for more. There are steamy love scenes, so Mature Readers Only Please.

(Disclaimer: I was provided a copy of the book and decided to provide my honest review, which I have.) Northern Kingdom: The Journey of the Fallen Kings is the second book of the Northern Kingdom series. I enjoyed reading Book two of the fantastical romantic Northern Kingdoms series. Journey of the Fallen Kings in some ways read similar to Book one. The author is stuck with this “foundational flaw” that I don’t see any way around considering where the Fantastical Northern Kingdoms are sited and their aggregate environments. Given that, one must pull out from the foundation and focus on the characters and what story they are revealing about themselves and between each other. After that, many layers delicately unfold to bring the Eastern Kingdom alive and provide an experience that drives you-no - compels you to read. The author, as always, did an outstanding job with character development, especially with one of the main characters who transitioned from the “real” world to the Eastern Kingdom. Jean, one of the main characters, has a difficult time transitioning, but it is all the different encounters that help her come to realize her current reality and destiny to stay. It took a lot of thought by the author to provide the depth, breadth, and subtly to make her character work, and it did. Recommendation: Read Northern Kingdoms: The Journey of the Fallen Kings. If you haven’t read Northern Kingdoms: Lost & Found, read that as well –Tex

Ok so basically this book picks up right where book one ended. With the three of them running away from a attack on their camp. They all ran in different directions, but Cameron and Mia happen to get saved by the prince of the Northern Kingdom. They wasn't sure what happen to their friend Jean they just assumed she was killed. But that wasn't the case at all!!! Not only did she survived she happen to stumble upon a stranger while lost in the woods dress in a white loin cloth. Her first impression of him wasn't good at all. He was rude and not really friendly at all. Who knew that this stranger in the white loin cloth was going to take Jean on a adventure of a lifetime. Filled with moment of laughter other moments that filled you with dread. This action packed story will have you hooked from beginning to end and we can't forget the steamy romance that will have you fanning your face from its intensity. Overall enjoyable and entertaining read looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series.

If you read book one you know that all three researchers ran from the attack on their camp..they all ran different ways...Cameron was saved with Mia by a prince of the tiger shifters but they thought their friend Jean was killed. She wasn't. She ran so far that she ended up crossing the magic line like her friends. Only she didn't know that until she meets this strange man in nothing but a white loin cloth...he's rude and not really nice to her, even though neither knows about the others world. He tells her he has a journey to complete and can't be "distracted" by a woman! She was passed big time and tries to make it on her own but not knowing the magic of the land ends up traveling with him. Things change and there are laughs and scary moments. Thing's do get "HOT" at times but the storyline was good. I don't know if any of the wording of the "HOT" times were supposed to be funny but to me they were! Again good storyline and good characters. Can't wait for number 3!

Umm...yummy? If that’s remotely appealing to you then this is definitely the book for you. In my case, having read and loved book 1 (same story, different perspective), I anticipated that this would be a fun, hot, well done PNR. I was totally right, and totally recommended this book. Note that it can be read standalone easily (and my 5 stars still applies to it as a standalone), but I’d read book 1 first as it’s more fun that way.

I am enjoying this series so much! This book picks up right where the last one ended, which is always something I enjoy, and I couldn't put it down. I actually read this one faster than I read the first book, and I got sucked into it quicker. Jean and Shan were a lot of fun, and their romance is steamy. Just like in the first book, I really enjoyed all the adventure and action. I can't wait to find out what happens next!

It...

It is Jean's turn to tell her story, and exciting one it is! More supernatural characters join the series in the Eastern Kingdom. It will definitely keep you enthralled!
