To celebrate Halloween, it’s a collection of fresh new shorts starring everyone’s favorite malevolent mint, Peppermint Butler! Whether he’s resorting to dark magick to launder his bow tie or fighting in the War of the Magicians, Pep Buts is the most tireless butler in Ooo. And in the land of Aaa, Butterscotch Butler is determined to keep Prince Gumball’s spooky masquerade safe from Marshall Lee’s tricks!
He's also the jerk behind the Stoker award-winning Paperbacks from Hell, a history of the 70's and 80's horror paperback boom, which contains more information about Nazi leprechauns, killer babies, and evil cats than you probably need.
And he's the screenwriter behind Mohawk, which is probably the only horror movie about the War of 1812 and Satanic Panic.
Read it because of Grady Hendrix (and also because Adventure Time is the bee's knees) but omg all these stories were great. *chef's kiss* We love our psycho pepbut
Every Adventure Time comic book issue I've ever read has been mediocre at best. (and yet I keep reading them so what does that say about me?) They really try to branch out and take risks but can't transfer the spark of creativity that makes the animated series special to the printed page.
I digress. This is a Halloween/spooky issue ⭐, it prominently features Peppermint Butler, my favorite supporting character ⭐ AND has a story by Grady Hendrix! Ok so I DID come for Grady buuuut the only story that had my attention at all was the first one by Adam Cesare. It ruled ⭐ Good job Clown in a Cornfield, guy.
