The not so short introduction to LaTeX 2e

LaTeX is a typesetting system that is very suitable for producing scientific and mathematical documents of high typographical quality. It is also suitable for producing all sorts of other documents, from simple letters to complete books. LaTeX uses TeX as its formatting engine. This short introduction describes LaTeX2ε and should be sufficient for most applications of LaTeX.

Not much actually. This book can be used as an appendix (which I think LaTex wiki does a better job). What one can get out most from this book is the overall look about LaTex and basic format of it.

Shoud read this as a beginner, though I think some can do through practices and LaTex Wiki (which I will review when I have mastered LaTex and have some free time).

bardzo śmieszy mnie to że oceniam poradnik do latecha jako lekturę. Jeśli już mam taką komiczną sposobność to chciałbym ocenić humor autorów. A więc jest to humor pokroju twój wujek na wigilii. No nieśmieszne. Dziękuję za uwagę.

Za największą zasługę tej książki uznałbym to, że zmieniłem strony konfliktu. Zamiast śmiać się z rzekomej wyższości latecha nad każdym programem to uległem sekciarstwu stając się jednym z tych, których w październiku nazywałem szaleńcami. (Dzięki tej książce mam także 5 z technologii informacyjnych. PzdrDW)

اگه تصمیم به یادگیری لاتک دارین، این کتاب رو شدیدا توصیه می‌کنم، هم ترجمه‌ش خوبه، و هم اینکه زیاد نیست، کلا ۱۲۰ صفحه‌ست، ولی اگه پایان هربخش یه چندتا تمرین هم داشت عالی میشد، چون لاتک با روش درگیری-یادگیری خیلی خوب جواب میده

Some parts are more of an introduction and some more of a reference, but whatever, it basically throws a ton of basics at your face with just enough context that when you actually have to use any of it and you've inevitably forgotten every command and syntax, you'll be able to navigate a more comprehensive reference source without a problem.

Very useful and good introduction to start off of, when learning LaTeX (which you should learn if you're in academics), but also gives an enough overview without the need for further research.
