The third book in the white wolf paranormal romance series by Terry Spear,
Flight of the White Wolf
starts with a prologue set about seven years before the main story. This prologue has some humor in it despite the serious topic of dognapping and is set in Alaska. The main storyline takes place in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in Minnesota. Gavin Summerfield is an artic wolf shifter with a fear of flying. However, as a private investigator, he needs to fly north to track down a man suspected of cheating on his wife. Imagine his surprise when his pilot turns out to be a woman from his past. Arctic wolf shifter Amelia White isn’t displeased to see Gavin, but their priorities changed when their plane is sabotaged and goes down.
Gavin likes to be in control which is only one of the reasons he dislikes flying. He’s good at survival in the wilderness, a great investigator, organized, and good with animals. Amelia is hiding something, fosters dogs until a permanent home can be found for them, and patience isn’t her strong suit.
Once again, Terry Spear drew me immediately into this story. This novel has threads of romance, suspense, danger, action, lies, deceit, cheating spouses, and much more. There are a few steamy scenes in this novel. Relationships drive the narrative and the dynamics among the characters was one of the most compelling aspects of the story. The world-building was excellent and easily transported me to the Boundary Waters. It was great to see the higher level of suspense and action to this story compared to book two in the series. The author does a great show of showing, not telling the characters’ emotions and traits using all five senses. I loved the chemistry between Amelia and Gavin and the ending was perfect. The mystery aspect is a little complex with multiple layers to be unraveled.
Overall, the plot was entertaining, clever, and full of romance, danger, and suspense. It took this reader on a compelling journey. If you enjoy contemporary paranormal romantic suspense novels, then this author may be one you will enjoy as much as I do. I am looking forward to reading more of her books.

White Wolf #3 Heart of the Wolf #24, Don't let the 24 fool you each of the different spin offs of the original series can be read separate from each other, in fact this can be read perfectly fine as a stand alone as well. The new turned white wolf shifters and private investigators Gavin, Owen, Cameron and David came to Northern Minnesota so their wolves wouldn't stick out. The Prologue to this book takes place before Gavin turned, he's on the hunt for stolen puppies. He tracks them to Alaska where he meets Amelia. But that's not the first time they have met, Amelia realizes right away that they have met before in Seattle when he was still a cop and her boyfriend robbed a jewelry store and hijacked her plane she crashed the plane on purpose and managed to get way only after having to kill her boyfriend before he could kill Gavin who was injured in the crash. Gavin doesn't remember Amelia, he knows her face but he can't place her, he soon forgets and goes about his job of finding the missing puppies.
Seven years later, Gavin's newest job takes him out into the wilderness, not that he minds he loves being outdoors and camping. His newest client wants proof her husband is cheating and he's going on a Team Building kayaking trip not to far from where he is, the only thing is to catch up to the husband he needs to fly out to the same drop location. Ever since Gavin was in the plane crash in Seattle he's been afraid to fly. By pure happenstance his pilot is Amelia. Amelia and her family moved from Alaska to escape the, what seems like forever, winters. Amelia is delighted that Gavin is now a wolf and a white wolf too. But disaster strikes when they experience electrical failure and the plane crashes, only thanks to Amelia's quick thinking do they survive the crash and thanks to Gavin who manages to salvage most of his equipment from the plane before it completely sank; his canoe survived too. To top it all off Amelia had her foster dog, Winston, with her on the plane. Due to the heavy rains they are stranded where they are until it stops. In that time Gavin and Amelia talk about why the plane went down and the fact that only foul play could have caused every system to go down even the back-up system.
Between talking about all conspiracy plausibility of who and why of the plane sabotage Amelia and Gavin get to know each other. Amelia finally reveals how Gavin recognizes her and after a brief bit of anger they both forgive each other. Most of the time spent is them getting to know each other and bonding Gavin is pretty certain he's found his mate but hey agree to take it slow and get to know each other more and meet each other families. But the tangled web of the whodunnit to the plane and the not quite so simple cheating husband case and the reappearance the certain dognappers from seven years prior make this a tangle web of lies and deception only Gavin and Amelia can untangle.
Overall this was another great instalment into the Heart of the Wolf series. The romance was pretty easy between Amelia and Gavin the book concentrated more on them building their romance and the many plausible and implausible theories that they are faced with in this book. I can't wait to see what Terry Spear's has in store for David and now Amelia's brother Slade.

Reluctant acknowledgement of a white hot attraction and a need to catch a dangers criminal make for a highly entertaining, dramatic romantic adventure.

2 Stars - 2.5 Flames
To say I was frustrated while reading this would be an understatement. In fact, this was pretty close to becoming a DNF.
I usually breakdown characters, chemistry, and parts of the story, but to be honest, I don't see a point. Mainly because I had a VERY hard time connecting to all of the above. You've got these two mates who don't seem to have any flame behind their chemistry. In fact, I had a hard time relating to any of the characters. And then I couldn't, for the life of me, understand how there was a plane crash, yet survival was the easiest thing in the world. Secrets were discovered, yet, no problem, it's all good.
This just didn't work for me.....sorry.

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!

The cover is beautiful and busy.
This is the 3rd book in the White Wolf series, and it is for adults only due to the steamy content. The series does not need to be read in order. I have read book 1, but it was back in 2010 before I wrote reviews. I have read and listened to tons of Terry’s books, but half of those were before I started reviewing.
Terry Spear always creates an amazing world that is both real and fantasy, and it blends beautifully with romance and intrigue. This book also has a robbery, plane crashes, treachery, shifters, paddling, and more.
Gavin is one of the male leads that are easy to love! He is brave and loyal, loves animals, serves and stands for others, and is a sexy wolf shifter. Amelia is a fierce royal. She flies a plane, tazzes intruders, fosters animals, and in general is fierce. These two make a great team who can’t seem to stay away from each other. This is a great read full of adventure and action with chemistry. I always know I will enjoy Terry’s book.
I recommend to any wolf shifter fan who likes high flying adventure and romance with some treachery and mystery mixed in!

Terry Spear is at it again with another werewolf romance that had me soaring through an adventure filled romance.
Gavin and Amelia are electrifying characters that grab reader’s attention and refuse to let go. Their relationship is full of strong and hot sexual tension, emotional pitfalls and thrilling danger. The couple has to make decisions that affect their personal as well professional lives and that will of course impact their families and friends which adds lots of depth to the story and has readers holding their breath in anticipation of their happily ever after decision.
The suspense builds throughout the story as twists and turns keep readers as well as Gavin and Amelia guessing as to just who the enemy is and what their true motives are. This fast paced plot is full of adrenaline pumping adventure and thrills including plane crashes and really keep readers on edge and has just enough super sweet moments to keep the heart well satisfied as well not to mention makes the readers fall for the characters even more.
Terry Spear brings the wonderful Heart of the Wolf series which includes the White Wolf series, the Silver Town Wolves, the Highland Wolves and the Billionaire Wolves, to brilliant life with well written words, vivid imagery and fascinating characters that all keep me coming back for more. It is a favorite of mine and I always love becoming immersed in the stories as they unfold and I found Flight of the White Wolf to be one very spellbinding read and since I just can’t get enough, I can’t wait to read the next one.

This is Arctic wolf shifter and private investigator Gavin Summerfield, and Arctic wolf shifter and pilot Amelia White’s story line. FLIGHT OF THE WHITE WOLF can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Gavin and Amelia) FLIGHT OF THE WHITE WOLF follows the building relationship between Arctic wolf shifters- private investigator Gavin Summerfield, and pilot Amelia White. Seven years earlier, then police detective and a very human Gavin Summerfield, came face to face with Amelia White, as part of an on-going investigation into a series of dog-nappings that took our hero to the Alaskan north. FLIGHT OF THE WHITE WOLF is an intriguing story line; a plot driven tale that got lost in the disappointing relationship build up of our leading couple; A strong beginning that floundered through the middle but eventually picked up with the couple’s return to civilization.

Gavin Summerfield is an arctic wolf shifter and a former police officer turned Private Investigator. He has a fear of flying due the plane crashing the last time he was on one but he has to get to the northern Minnesota wilderness for a job. It turns out his pilot is the same woman the last time he saw her.
Arctic wolf shifter, Amelia White, isn't totally unhappy to see Gavin again but does hope he doesn't remember the first they saw each other. In the next book of the Artic wolves Gavin is up now after turning is a P I on a job and old secrets and jobs come up. Amelia is a royal shifter and picks the wrong men to date but fate has plans with Gavin as he shows up in her life and they must work together to solve a mystery. Enjoyed this newest book.

The cover is very good. It will appeal to readers because of its great color scheme and the elements in the picture. The man is perfect for the story and very attractive. The small plane in the upper right is also an element right out of the book. The white wolf is a nice touch as well. The story is good and well-done. The characters are written quite well, especially the main ones. The pace is brisk for the most part but easy to follow. The tension is definitely up there throughout the story given that there are events in the past and events happening throughout that the characters need to worry about. The author does a good job of keeping the tension going.

Amelia White is a Royal Arctic wolf shifter, as is her whole family. That means she was born a white Arctic wolf shifter, she was not changed from human. She can control her change and has been able to since birth. This is highly thought of in the shifter community where control of shifting can cause problems for changed shifters for years into their change. When Gavin Summerfield first meets Amelia, he is human and has no idea about Amelia’s shifter side.
Amelia is also a pilot. She deliberately crashes the small plane they are in to save Gavin’s life when they are both caught up in a jewel heist. Then they meet again when Gavin is investigating stolen dogs in Alaska and Amelia is a suspect with her two foster dogs. The third time’s the charm for these two.
Gavin and his group of friends have been turned against their will to Arctic white wolf shifters. They are still new enough to it all that most of them are still having problems controlling their change. But this time when Gavin meets Amelia, he has his white wolf nose to tell him that Amelia is a wolf as well. And this time when the plane crashes, it’s not Amelia’s fault. It’s been sabotaged.
Supposedly Gavin is to follow a group that’s out in the wilderness for an office workshop and he’s to report back to one of the men’s wives about whether or not her husband is cheating on her. She’s got someone working for her who’s supposed to kill Gavin and now Amelia. Eleanor’s the one behind it all. So, even though I’m giving away the secret, it’s how you get there that makes the book.

Flight of the White Wolf takes us back into the lives of friends who had been turned, most without knowing what was happening and then an on purpose turning to keep the group of friends solid, together in this new world. This time it’s Gavin’s turn to discover what his destiny is with a woman he feels he should know but cannot place. His current private investigator case will have him facing one of his fears – flying. Even before he became a wolf he hated airplanes. But this time there is no choice. While the pilot is familiar, he”s not so trusting for he’s getting an off feeling from Amelia. Add in a plane crash and his worst fear is realized. It soon becomes obvious that this was no accident, and things suddenly take a more dangerous turn.
Fate or destiny or just dumb stupid luck has Amelia facing a man she’s run into twice already. He doesn’t seem to remember one time, but he definitely will recall the other.. Since Amelia last encountered Gavin it seems he’s been turned, and now her life is going to get interesting. She’s holding on to secrets, he’s not trusting her and together that mistrust between them could end up getting them killed. Everything is not as it seems as Gavin and Amelia begin to acknowledge that connection, that spark between them. Mates? Neither would have seen that coming. Now they just have to survive to figure out the personal parts… like, mates?
There is a sense of fate bringing Gavin and Amelia back together time and time again… maybe until they get it right. The mystery of who sabotaged the plane, who the good guys or bad guys really are, one amazing dog and some truly adorable puppies will move Flight of the White Wolf along quite enjoyably. I always expect to be drawn into Terry Spear’s world and this was no exception. While some might say you could read this story on its own, I really believe to get the full enjoyment and understanding from it you need to at least have read the earlier books. Legend of the White Wolf starts this entire long series with sub-series emerging along the way, and Dreaming of a White Wolf Christmas will not only give you a few holiday smiles but a really good story as well. It’s a suggestion only, I mention it because I’ve enjoyed this entire long set of series and those two additional books will answer questions you may have. But as always, it’s up to you and your need to know what is in the past books.
I completely enjoyed my time in this world once again and would not hesitate to recommend Flight of the White Wolf or the entire series to any Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance reader. You’ll find intriguing plots, steamy sexy encounters with true mates, interesting secondary characters who have or will shine in their own books and simply a damn good story.

I almost DNF’d this book. I had a hard time connecting with the characters and the story in general.
From the blurb/synopsis I believed this would be paranormal romance with some mystery. What I feel like I got was a mystery with a dash of romance and a sprinkle of the paranormal which in this case is the wolf-shifters.
The first half of the book was directed more to the mystery of who downed the plane and why. This mystery should have been intriguing instead, it felt flat. The characters responses to the crash were unbelievable. There was no stress, no panic-nothing from either character. Just calm, cool, collected. They discuss more on his case then the reality that they are stranded. The fact that they were grounded brought nothing extra to the book. Gavin was so well prepared and they were able to recover almost everything from the crash. They did not go without food, shelter or clothes. Everything was so easy that you could almost mistake them for being on holiday. With this, there was no growth of either character and the only issue to be dealt with was the mystery.
The mates story line between Gavin Summerfield and Amelia White did not feel genuine. There was absolutely no spark, no desire or chemistry for most of the book. There was maybe attraction but nothing overt. With them eventually knowing that they are mates I find they were lacking in passion and desire. When Gavin finds out Amelia’s secret, even that was anticlimactic, swept under the rug, no big deal.
I do not believe that the wolf-shifter aspect to this book was needed. The most we see of the wolves is simply when they shift from one to the other and then back shortly after. There is only slim interaction done in wolf form. I would have enjoyed the story more if this story line would have been explored. In my opinion, the mystery aspect of this novel totally eclipsed the romance and wolf-shifter aspect of this book.
With all that being said, the story did pick just after midway through. The writing seemed to change. The pace picked up and the romance heated up but it was a little too late for me to truly enjoy the book.

This is the third in the White Wolf series, and like twenty-something in the over-arching Heart of the Wolf series. I haven't read any books in this series before, and while I think this can work as a standalone, I think I would have enjoyed it much more had I been familiar with the rest of the series.
While this is a "fated mate"-type romance, thankfully, it isn't insta-love. At the point where the main plot picks up, these characters have met previously, though briefly, several times - including once where a towel-wearing Amelia tasered Gavin. I was initially interested because the idea of a private investigator who's afraid to fly and a secret-keeping pilot, both who are wolf shifters, crashing in the Alaskan wilderness sounded like the perfect recipe for lots of angsty adventure. Unfortunately, it failed to deliver for me. While the plot was interesting, I was never able to emotionally connect with the characters, and didn't feel the chemistry between them. The investigation portion was well done, but I never was particularly worried that the characters were in danger (even after a plane crash! in the wilderness!) or felt like they wouldn't be able to eventually solve the mystery. Even the reveal of Amelia's big secret was.... strangely unemotional.
I also found the writing somewhat stilted. There's just so much background information, and most of it is presented in by telling the reader instead of showing, including information about a myriad of secondary characters. I suspect many of these are characters from previous books in the series, but I was, at times, overwhelmed and confused by the amount of information provided around them (like, do we need to know that one of his partners have six-year-old triplets?)
Unfortunately, there was very little about this book that worked for me. I think if you're a previous fan of the series, you may have a better time with it (though I'd imagine all the info dumping would be even more annoying), but if you're looking to get into this series, I'd suggest starting with an earlier book.

The Flight of the White Wolf takes Amelia White and Gavin Summerfield on a dangerous and steamy trip through the Border Waters of Minnesota. Coincidence or fate that they've come together again and that people from their past are in the areas as well. Is Gavin's current mission part of all the danger or is he supposed to be protecting Amelia and her family from danger? It all is woven with intrigue and love by Terry Spear in the 3rd book of her White Series and the 24th book in her Wolf Shifters Series.
She's a royal and he's a newly turned Artic lupus garous. They have met before but Gavin Summerfield can't remember where. Amelia White remember quite well where they've met before but wants to keep that a secret. Will she be able to and will he remember. It seems like fate is playing a hand in the lives together because this current meeting is the 3rd time in 7 years. Between meeting the first time and the third time Gavin's life went through a drastic change making him an Artic Wolf. Amelia is a pilot who helps fly tourists in her families business. As they spend time together they're drawn together and try to solve the mystery of their plane crash. Amelia also wants to help Gavin with his PI case following a supposedly cheating husband. When they come across her ex-boyfriend and two men from the past they begin to suspect that the case and the plane crash are connected. All the while Amelia and Gavin are falling in love and getting closer, even though Amelia and her family are concerned because Gavin and his friends have on been turned a few years ago and don't have control. As they follow the case to its conclusion they become closer and find that they are supposed to be together for life.
Terry Spears takes you on a dangerous ride that leaves you wondering who's the bad guys are and why they are after the people in the Border Waters in Minnesota. I was surprised by the out come and the ending was wrapped up and bringing to groups together as one.. I look forward to the next installments in the White Wolf and Heart of the Wolf Series. Looking forward to David and Slade's stories. Its a series that can continue for many books to come.

I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Gavin is in Security and he was specifically requested for his latest job. He has been asked to find out if a husband is cheating on his very rich wife. What Gavin discovers could save her money if divorce is in the future.
The husband has gone on a 9 day trip with co-workers in a remote area and the only way Gavin can get there is to fly, which he hates! The last time he was in a plain, it crashed. He makes arrangements with a family run charter company to get to the area and Amelia is his pilot. She is shocked to see Gavin as she met him 7 years ago. Gavin feels as if has met her before but can't place her. They both know the other is a shifter though.
As they are flying, the plane begins to malfunction and shut down. Amelia manages to get it down in the general area they needed to go to, just further away. The problem is....they have no way to contact anyone but Amelia knows her family will come looking for her.
The plane has been sabotaged. Why would anyone do that? A disgruntled ex-worker? The competition?
These two are really attracted to one another, as in mates. Amelia is afraid Gavin will remember where he knows her from and he will jump to conclusions before she can explain.
Who sabotaged the plane? Who was it meant for? Will Gavin and Amelia make it?
This couple had some good chemistry and they work well together. Finding your mate is a magical thing and they know within a few days that the other is the one. When help came, Amelia decides to stay a few extra days and help Gavin. The story took such a huge twist and everything you thought was the answer to the mystery....wasn't!
I like Ms. Spears books and have read many of them. While the story and was great I felt like some things were "over explained". It was definitely worth reading though and if you like shifter books, then you will enjoy this.

This was an action packed story with terrific characters, secrets, lies, betrayal, and many twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. White Wolf has been a fantastic series, and it's definitely one that you won't want to miss!
Gavin Summerfield and Amelia White have a long history between them, neither of them have all of the facts about what happened before, and Gavin is having difficulty remembering some of the past, including where he's seen her before they met in Alaska. Amelia knows the truth, or at least most of it, but she's afraid of Gavin's reaction, and unsure if he was involved with everything that happened. When they are thrown together again, neither are sure what to make of it, but unfortunately they don't have time to figure it out before they're involved in another dangerous situation that they'll have to rely on one another to survive.
I have really enjoyed this series, and although I haven't read any of the other series that this one is tied to, it's really not necessary. Each book can be read as a stand alone, but I suggest you start from the beginning of this series. It will give you a better understanding of everything going on with the pack, as well as learn more about each couple, and the dynamics between the pack. You won't be disappointed!

Amelia White is a pilot and a "royal wolf" - no human genetics for generations. She has a patchy past with men. They always seem to lead her into some kind of trouble. She and her family moved to Minnesota to get away from their past but trouble has a habit of finding this she-wolf.
Gavin Summerfield is an ex-cop and current PI. He first met Amelia during a heist, although he doesn't really recall her much. Then he met her when he was on the hunt for a puppy napping ring in Alaska. Let's just say she left an electrifying impression on him LOL.
Now that he and his PI team are all turned humans, Gavin has also moved to Minnesota. When he is asked to take on a case at short notice in the great open spaces of the Border Waters, little does he realise he is about to clash with Amelia once more.
3rd time seem to the be charm with these two! Fate really had it in for them, I mean 7 years is a long time to play about with these two. I loved the way the author wove their back story into the book, this was no case of insta lust! I'm a sucker for animals so all the cute furries had me! Winston in particularly is my kinda dog!
As their past together is slowly revealed I was amazed at how well Gavin took it all, not everyone would be that forgiving let me tell ya'. All the supporting characters had a story of their own, making them integral to the book and not just filler. Great read.

I've read a few Terry Spear books and liked them all enough to keep her on my buy list. When I was granted this NetGalley ARC I was delighted. Um, it was mostly disappointing. I guess they all can't be winners.
The first 2/3 of the book was just flat and lifeless. Here are two people who had a bad experience together, hostage cop Gavin, and unwilling girlfriend wolf shifter pilot Amelia, forced to fly jewel thief gang to freedom. 7 years later they meet again and Gavin is now an Arctic wolf shifter too, and a PI on a case having to fly to his case. He's uncomfortable flying because of the first crash she caused to stop the jewel thieves. The book is like an unemotional journal of their adventure. He did this, she did that, they set up camp together...We have clues thrown at us about his case, who caused the crash, is his client's husband having an affair, discovering who she is since she's not forthcoming about the fact she was the pilot 7 years ago. The story picks up and gets more interesting as they finally begin to put the pieces of the mystery together, as does the passion between them. I started to care. I have to say it's the most complicated story resolution I think I have ever read. You won't believe it if you manage to finish the book!

Months after an adventure of being a hostage on a harrowing flight, newly minted PI, Gavin Summerfield crosses paths with Amelia White for the second time while on a case. She's familiar, he just doesn't know why but Amelia knows and thinks her past as getaway pilot and boyfriend murderer has been discovered!
Seven years later, they meet again on Gavin's latest case where he has to get past his fear of flying with Amelia as pilot. Discussing their last meeting, cursing the fates that keep bringing Gavin in her life, Amelia is still worried about their very first meeting but glad Gavin's now a fellow wolf and a fellow arctic wolf at that. Though Gavin can't shake the feeling he saw her when he was a Seattle cop.
But the third time's the charm as Gavin and Amelia come to a meeting of the minds and hearts after surviving yet another plane crash - not due to pilot error. With an adorable scene stealing pup and a quick check with the fairly new arctic pack, this multi-layered outing is convoluted to say the least but not difficult to follow at all.
Unfortunately, as becoming much too common for the series, in this reader's opinion, the ending feels rushed as the star couple wrap the issue, skip the acknowledged courting part of their courtship, accept the new characters in the fold with not only no hesitation but sometimes sight unseen in the name of finishing the read in as few pages as possible.

What a Magnificent book to read. You will be very empress with this story, it's a page turner from the beginning to the last page. This is my first book by Terry Spear , she is a great storyteller. The way she writes is so entertaining. I read this book in one sitting from top to bottom, I could not put it down. I felt as I was in story alone with the characters. The story is fantastic, full of action and suspense that's pace just right along with a perfect flow of words. The characters relationship are fully involved and adds depth to the story. Terry Spears has the creative ability to build a great world with awesome characters that is very entertaining. The scenes description will become so real to you that it will be totally amazing while you read herwith books. The Flight of the White Wolf is about a newly turned male White Artic Wolf and a female White Artic Wolf. Gavin Summerfield and Amelia White are force to work together when they find out they are mates. What I also enjoyed about this story is the suspense but there is only a small amount of sensual heat if you are interested in the pages burning with lots of steamy scenes this isn't the story for you. But if you enjoy like I do a great suspenseful story you will really appreciate this story.

Not typically a good sign when I start mentally reviewing a book before I finish. I wanted a bland read to cure my "reading hangover", as Goodreads so poetically named it on twitter. You know when you can't read anything new because you're still wrapped up in the last book you read. Well, instead of bland, I got blah. But maybe I'll be ready to dig into something deeper after this.
Closed world. Werewolves come in born and bitten varieties. The born wolves have 100% control of their shifting. The bitten are swayed by the moon. Not many more rules in this world besides intercourse equals mated for wolves. Mated for life. The wolves have superior senses and a vaguely hinted increased healing ability. Magical as opposed to painful biological shift. Quick and painless and otherwise never described in detail.
Paranomal romance, so yes on the mated thing. The kind of "on the page" sex which is neither titilating nor emotionally fulfilling. In fact, the writing in general had a bit of a stilted quality. Too much tell, and not enough show. Mystery was a tad convoluted so I didn't guess all the bad guys before they revealed themselves.

I really enjoyed this one. Gavin is one of the wolves I've come to know through the other Wolf books and I was excited to read his story. Years before this book starts and before he was a wolf, Gavin was in a plane crash and only three people survived. There were extenuating circumstances that even he didn't know about at the time, but one of the others who survived was the female pilot. I absolutely love reading the backstory of these two!
Amelia has always been an arctic wolf shifter, along with her whole family. She knows Gavin but is surprised when she realizes he is a wolf. The two of them have met before, twice actually but he only remembers one and he wasn't a wolf. The two of them get trapped together with no one around to help and their attraction sizzles. I liked how protective both were of each other and how Gavin treated her as an equal.
It was a 4/5 for me. I really do love these wolves!

Whilst this book is part of a series it can be read very well as a stand alone book .
Gavin Summerfield is a hot, sexy, shifter with a fear of flying ...........but he needs to access the wilderness of northern Minnesota to track down his suspect and flying in is the only option .
Amelia White is the last shifter he expect to see again, but she turns out to be a late replacement as his pilot on this trip .
Betrayal is soon apparent as the plane has been sabotaged forcing Amelia to make an emergency landing on one of the many wilderness Lakes .
The need to discover who has sabotaged the plane ........which of them was the intended victim ? ......and Gavin's determination to not only catch his suspect but also catch Amelia makes for an entertaining read full of suspense, fast paced action with plenty of hot romance thrown in .
I will certainly look for other books by this Author in this series .

I've been following this series for a while and this book was definitely a strong addition from Terry Spear.
Gavin and Amelia were great characters. I loved that their romance was slow building because that's what these two needed to get past the mistrust on each side. There was a great twist to their story. Their paths just kept crossing so there was a strong feeling that destiny played a big part in the romance. Amelia was a pilot and Gavin was an ex cop turned Private investigator. They end up stranded in the wild together after a plane crash and at first they were both suspicious of each other. They clearly had some misunderstandings to work through despite being very attracted to each other, as well.
As usual, the author wrote in a good mystery and some adventure. I thought the story was much stronger at the beginning but it did tick up some near the end. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next Heart of the Wolf story.

This is a super shifter romance with lots of action and twists and turns throughout the whole story. I love this Arctic wolf pack. They have fantastic characters in it and great stories. Gavin is a wonderful hero and Amelia is a perfect counterpart. The story keeps you guessing the whole time. I loved that.
The very first book in this series, is The Legend of the White Wolf which was written back in the beginning of the Heart of the Wolf series. That introduces all the characters, who we meet again much later, in A Very Jaguar Christmas, and then again in Dreaming of a White Wolf Christmas before this one. So if you haven't read anything by Terry Spear, you need to at least read those. Then I bet you will do what I did and read all the rest, the wolves, cougars, jaguars and one polar bear shifter. Now we have to wait for the next one. There is a long preview here. Enjoy!

Flight of the White Wolf is the second book in Terry Spear’s White Wolf Series. I did not read the first one but I don’t feel like I really missed anything. This is the story of Arctic Wolf Shifters Gavin Summerfield and Amelia White. When these two initially meet, Gavin is a police officer who has been taken hostage by some thieves and Amelia is the pilot flying their escape plane. Luckily for Gavin, Amelia helps him escape his captors although Gavin doesn’t actually see her but she sees him. Several years later, Gavin and Amelia meet again while Gavin is looking for some missing dogs in his new career as a private detective. As fate would have it, Gavin has no idea who she is and they have an awkward exchange but still don’t truly meet this time either. Fast forward a few more years and Gavin ends up using Amelia’s company to fly out regarding another investigation. Still, Gavin doesn’t recognize her but this time things get real.
Flight of the White Wolf was a very unpredictable book. The chemistry between Gavin and Amelia is undeniable, but it’s the way that they finally hook up that makes the book intriguing. Amelia does everything she can to avoid Gavin but he keeps popping in and out of her life. One time, he pops in and she is wearing nothing but a towel. The next time, he ends up in a sabotaged plane with her. Clearly, they were meant to be together. Amelia is of Royal Arctic Wolf Blood Line while Gavin was turned. Consequently, they wouldn’t normally be together but the laws of attraction don’t care about that. In addition, they seem to work really well together. They have a lot of clothes on heat well before they actually get naked together. Plus, they really look out for each other as if they had known each other for years. In addition, Amelia tries desperately to keep her secret regarding their first meeting hidden. Gavin knows something is familiar about her but he just can’t put his finger on it. Not that he lets any of that get in the way. Add in the fact that they find that they have a common enemy and everything just seems to work.
I really enjoyed Flight of the White Wolf. Terry Spear put a good twist on the lore of shape shifters. There was an unexpected mystery that was woven throughout their unexpected romance. Both characters were very likeable, plus there is even an enormous dog that adds to their bond. The story was fast-paced and I couldn’t put the book down. I look forward to reading other books in the series.

This one seemed pretty straight forward at first glance. But as things went on you realize that it's not. That 3 separate events brought Gavin and Amelia together, the last one being the one most of this book. I liked how Gavin and Amelia realized their connections, sure it didn't happen all at once, the second encounter remembered first, but it was their first encounter that was more memorable. It was interesting how with the last encounter everything came together. As Gavin and Amelia spent more time in the Boundary Waters they realized potential they were up against. Despite that Gavin and Amelia had some great chemistry, their wolves just as smitten. It was fun to see Gavin and Amelia figure things out and take down the bad guys, all the while mating and building a better pack.

Terry Spear is quite simply the queen of werewolf romance! I have most of her collection, barring one or two and I’ve loved every single one. Terry’s writing and plots make her work stand out amongst a popular genre and is a series that I pick up instantly when I see a new one in store. I really enjoyed the seaplane aspect of the book and the jewellery heist! What an action packed book and we even got to join Amelia and Gavin while they did some sleuthing. The opening chapter about the Samoyed puppies that Gavin was trying to locate was really cute and a fun way to introduce the characters to the readers. I look forward to Terry’s next amazing read and I hope it is Slade’s story. I’m a bit biased, I absolutely adore the arctic wolves. A big thank you as well to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me an advance copy :D
