Stunning. Addictive. Bloody.
The bestselling VAMPIRE CROWN series continues with King of Gods, as the authors dive deeper into the chaos of Royal machinations. Dark schemes, rich humor, and carnal exploits weave this next installment into one gripping adventure.

The Breaking Time has come in S’Kir. The Spine is ready to be broken and reunite the races. But the Breaker is missing a critical piece of knowledge: Sex is power.

In the Stronghold, a new Queen has been crowned and the time has come for the King Novitiate to face his trials. While the Original druid thinks intimacy is strength, the Queen knows better: Knowledge is power.

Sex will bring power to the druids.
But knowledge is the knife’s edge to carve out the power.

The most unique RH I've read in a long time and completly under appreciated in the RH world.
Its still written with Gwen and Kimber's POV in little alternating sections which I assume run parallel to each other.
This one was much more about the sex- especially for Kimber. Though I am not sad that it was, the steam was coming off the pages!

I'll admit to skipping most of Kimber's story in book 1, she was just too pathetic but here we see her come into her own a bit more and I was not skipping anything this time .

Looking forward to more of that in book 3!

Gwen story continues to captivate me most. Bel and Gwen are the shining stars of this series for me! Their part in this one is more relationship development than steam which was just as satisfying believe me!

The Overlords and newly crowned Queen travel to the Mages stronghold to complete the trial for the King, which was not half as exciting as the Queens trials in book 1 but more of a backdrop for extra Bel+Gwen time :D

I would have liked more of the bodyguards Gwen chooses in her opening scenes. They seem very interesting, perhaps in book 3 we will get more of them?
Not sure where the Reverse Harem element is heading for Gwen - if she will even have one? She seems to have ties to all of the overlords in a way, Bel might be too possessive for a harem anyway!

Lots of questions and left on a slight cliffhanger makes me very excited for book 3

Can't wait for Gwen and Kimber's stories to merge which I think is where it's heading

2nd re-read. I enjoyed Kimber's story more in this book but truly it was because of her guys. I mean, I was fanning myself every time they had sex. I need to read more MM books because damn it was hott! Bel and Gwyn are still my favorite though.

1st read:
This book was cracking me up at every turn. I loved the banter between the Queen and Lord's.

Heavens above, where do I start.

COLOR
ME
SHOCKED

Firstly, fuck Elex. He is NOT the man of my dreams. (Again, therapy my friends). The title has gladly been bestowed upon to Lord Bel.

Lets recap some characters shall we?

Kimber: yeah homegirl just got a huge slice of life when the most unexpected shit happened. She bounced back quickly though am I right??? WHO KNEW she had THAT in her. Again, the transition from rainbows and butterflies to foursomes was quite.. interesting.

STILL DON'T CONSIDER THIS RH.
This is just druids and vamps having fun.
It's been an odd, odd book.

Master Dorian: also has a giant dick (but where in comparison to Bel?) I thought Master Dorian was ugly? In the first book. I don't specifically recall him EVER being described as attractive. He's an asshole. BUT APPARENTLY, a very attractive one. Who the fuck knew. Now I have to rearrange his voice in my head during his dialogue so that it sounds manly and sexy and not like the emperor's skinny assistant from Mulan.
DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD THAT'S BEEN.

Gwen: not much here. Her and Bel finally realize there is something there and the other lords witnessing that gave me life. Lord Otto and Zenon are def my favorites. Anyway, Gwen's story doesn't change too much here. I was honestly more interested in Kimber's publicized sex life.

BUT FINALLY! We see the two stories emerging when Gwen goes with Nial to the three weird sisters chillin at home in formal clothing.

Nial: I just about fucking broke during his last challenge. Pissed off that Gwen was so happy about it. I was so sad for him. So, so sad. He's the Lost God isn't he? How else would he be from S'Kir and NOT trapped in S'Kir with a colorful, emotional mountain. Yeah, I think I'm seeing this right.

Bel: HOT. DAMN. Newly crowned Man of My Dreams.
(Please don't ruin this.)

Aside from that... I'd like the discuss a very important subject in this book.
Hand. Cannons.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
did they mean guns???
I am now proposing we change the term gun to be hand cannon.
All with me, say aye.

Again, what an odd series its been. The parallels between Gwen and Kimber are certainly there. And I do hope they meet in the next book. This series has been entirely unpredictable IMO.
Lots of erections happening.
Lots of cream involved (please someone change this term to something different).
Lots of.. weird shit like eyeing paintings and demented toys.

Also a lot of misplaced characters. Like the cousins who are Gwen's bodyguards who get thrown in the back-burner immediately after being introduced as sounding hella important. Then again, the twins started out that way too.

I foresee more surprises. Team Bel.

Facts about this book :
1. I prefer Gwen’s story more than Kimber’s. Although in this book, Kimber’s story took a turn into the interesting land and it was good enough for me.

2. Somehow I always found myself loving only Scarlett Dawn’s second book / the middle book of the series. For me the first book is enough to make me dive into the story and make me crave for more, while the second book where I say all the fun begin, and the last book is usually where I found myself crying because the apocalypse is coming a.k.a the end of the world is here ( exaggerate much?).

3. I found this series and King Hall series are similar in several ways, or to be more accurate, Vampire Crown series is a mature version of King Hall. It has certain elements that I love from King Hall’s series (to date it is my favorite series, beside this one from Scarlett Dawn), but with a lot “more” feels. And I freaking freaking love it.

4. Scarlett Dawn is a gift from God to all of us, especially me. I love you! You are incredible. Your works are drugs for me.

5. I am so glad I only began to read this series when the second book comes out. Because like I said earlier, this is where all the funs begin. But so pissed, I couldn’t wait for the last one to come out to read all at once, and now I have to freaking wait until August. And it’s still 3 months to go. I am pissed.

6. Beware before you buy this series or any books from Scarlett Dawn, it’s addictive.

7. I reread this series right after I finished with this book, and now I can’t break the cycle. It’s giving me a hell of a book-hangover.

Just finished this spectacular book 2

The books keep getting better and better. Well worth the wait.

For Kimber and the people of S'Kir time is running out as true allies arise and spies are uncovered before the Breaking of the Spine. For Gwen, Queen of the Vampires, and the five Overlords, its about heading to the Original Druids stronghold of Cape Argent for the King's Challenges and uncovering secrets along the way.

This book was solidly written with a continuation of both stories. I was pleasantly surprised in the case of Gwen and the King's Challenges that there was not a lot of repetition but had us glimpsing another location as well as revealing past secrets.

Even with this book being so much longer than QOGs it never slowed down from start to finish. I enjoyed the more concise formatting of book 2 versus book 1.

For example: In Book 1 the storylines between the 2 heroines alternated back and forth every couple of chapters which seemed distracting while trying to grasp the worlds being built. But book 2 is broken down more into larger sections, still alternating back and forth between the two, but giving a much more enjoyable reading experience.

The only CON is that I have to sit and wait for book 3 but this series has been well worth the wait. Book 3 comes out August 14th and I've already pre-ordered my copy.

Thank you Scarlet Dawn for another fantastic read.

After bit really enjoying the first, I LOVED this book!

Mainly for Gwen and Bel. I love them. they are my favourite sort of couple and things develop nicely between them in this installment.

For me, what made this book have the awesomeness the first lacked was the characters. They suddenly felt like real characters, and not just card board cut outs. The Overlords really came I to their own and I love the dynamic and the banter between them all.

I still found Gwen's story line much more interesting than Kimber's, she Kimber grows a lot in this installment and things were looking up for her character at the end.

I sort of want to go back and re-read all the Gwen and Bel bits because I freaking LOVE them. I wish there had been more!

King of Gods felt like the calm before the storm. Kimber and Gwynnore got acquainted with their new roles in druid and vampire societies and both uncovered pretty surprising information about their own residential assholes.
As always, Gwynnore's story was full of intrigue, great banter among characters and sexual tension.
Even though Kimber's story didn't impress me as much as Gwynnore's, toward the end it got so good—and she got some balls, finally—I shouted in frustration when the book ended with a bang.

Well. Fuck.
How the hell am I supposed to sum this one up?
“My brain fried. I lost all ability to move, or think.”
The second book of the Vampire Crown series was crazy and confusing, and bloodthirsty, and funny and so much more.
I straggled with it at the beginning, because the first fifty something pages were told from Kimber's side and at that point I wasn't really her fan. I found her to be too nice and naive, while I liked my characters to have an edge - like Gwynnore. But when the switch in the story finally happened, I was actually sad to let go of Kimber's side, because it felt as though we just started unraveling all the layers of her personality, and I started to like what I saw of her. And Gwynnore was magnificent, as per usual. I love reading about her and the Overlords.
All in all, the events taking place in this book help better understand these characters and to see why they are acting the way they do.
There was a point where I was afraid about cheating being in the book, because that would've really damaged my opinion of the series as a whole. But when I realized what was actually happening, I wished it were cheating. Because what that person really did was a betrayal on a whole new level and I felt sorry for the MC. But also proud of the way she dealt with it.
And we are finally on the brink of figuring out the connection between Gwynnore and Kimber, and still so far from it at the same time.
The next book just has to be epic. There is no other alternative, really. Because while the first two books were both amazing and fascinating, I feel like they were just a build up for what's to come, a preparation for the real deal. I cannot wait to see how it all connects and plays out.

Couldn’t put it down!

I’m not good at reviews but...I loved this book! I literally couldn’t put it down! Gwen, is sexy and fierce...loved getting to see her vulnerable side, and the way she and Bel are falling for each other makes my heart melt! Kimber!!! Oh, sweet sexy Kimber...following her story I’ve laughed with her, cried with her, and I’ve hoped things to happen to her that are flat out naughty!! Hahha! Oh those twins and Dorian!!!
If you’re looking for a book that’s sexy, has action, betrayal, oh but the most adorable love definitely read KoG!

THIS WAS AN AMAZING SECOND BOOK! I was just blown away by it, and I really grew to love more of the characters. While Gwen is still my favorite, and I can really see Scarlett Dawn's influence on her part of the story, Kimber is coming more into her own. By the Scarlett Dawn influence, I really mean the overlords. My God, they totally remind me of the Elders from King Hall (in a great way - they're all hilarious, although slightly more ruthless here, which is always fun). Anyway, I really loved this book. I still don't like Kimber as much as Gwen, but I do feel for her after this book. Although she's a bit more healed after some, ahem, stuff happened. That I, ahem, highly appreciated.

And the ending of this book really left me needing more, more, more! Too bad I have to wait until August. :(

Oh, and I read books one and two of this series on Kindle Unlimited over the past three days (I had perfect timing, as this one just came out yesterday) and I have proceeded to buy them because they're just that good! Go and read this series, people! You'll love it!

This is such a fantastic series!

This book kept me on captivated from the start - I'd be on the edge of my seat reading one p.o.v before it would change and then quickly be hooked on the next. I just couldn't wait to see what would happen with either character!

Kimber really grows in this book as she learns more about her power, magic and who to trust. I really enjoyed seeing Kimber become less naïve and gain more confidence. We get to know and love other characters like Rilen and Roran, and see other sides to Dorian and Elex. Can't wait to see how the relationships progress for the druids!
Really intrigued to see what happens next in the druid world after the events of this book.

I love Gwyn! Especially with Bel!!! I love Gwyn's sense of humour and sarcasm, and her hilarious interactions with Niall and the other overlords. I'm personally not a huge fan of Niall (#Team Bel) and I don't trust his motives. Really hoping for HEA for Gwyn and Bel somehow.

This is all I can say without spoilers, so please go and read for yourself.

Can't wait for the next book!

So much better ! I adore Gwen and Bel's relationship and her storyline. Kimber is still boring and naive but I guess she got better. Still a lot of great sex scenes, even a bit too much towards the end, to the point where I felt like it took over the story. EDIT : After rereading Gwen's chapters to appreciate once more her amazing storyline, I'm really scared that Bel is the one that's been killing off her previous lovers. I really hope I'm wrong and that he doesn't turn out to have been obsessed with her from the start, I like them too much!! Also, I think Gwen's mother was killed during his trials because it was either her or Gwen and that he therefore protected his daughter whom he loves.

Well what to say ... A liked the first book especially Gwen's story. Personally, I didn't find Kimber interesting.

All that changed in this book ... I loved this seconde book. It's a lot better than the first one. Do not hesitate to read it.

Gwen's story is still really good. I'm in love with Lord Belshazzar's character. It's time for the king's challenges. Master Niallan will have to pass them. Kimber's story was a really good suprise for me. She isn't weak anymore. There is a lot of changes for her in this book. And you will love them :).

I was not bored one second. The characters are well written. I love the fact that they are not weak or naive. Multiple political games are put in place.

This is officially one of my favorite book 2018.

Moves Quickly and Information Left Out

*****Spoilers*****

I'm not quite sure how I feel about this series, even after having read the second book. There is still some inconsistency in this one and even one of the chapters has the wrong character at chapter outset. It's labeled Kimber when the perspective is actually Gwynn's. I'm interested to see where the story is going though so I'll keep reading.

Kimber is chaste and faithful no more. She went from being in a relationship with Elex whom she thought was her mate to being with three men, all four of them together soul mates. How quickly she and Elex go from something to him dead and cheating on her with Dorian just prior was quick and unexpected, particularly the intimate scene with Dorian. The scene between Dorian and Elex was weird, I still don't understand why Dorian had to have sex with Elex to get Elex to confess to how he felt about Kimber. Elex's opinion is far from respectful of Kimber's magical abilities but didn't really ring true to me that he was her friend for so long with nefarious motive. I can certainly understand why he would have seen using her as an opportunity once she was identified as the Breaker but not all of the years prior. That he's a rebel or whatever his group of people are call wasn't a shock, I figured something was up with him when his reaction was less than excited when Kimber mentioned that they could be mates in the first book. In any case, the wall comes down and the druids are met with a less than friendly reaction from the vampires on the other side of the mountain that Kimber brought down.

Gwynn and Lord Bal are a mess. Trying to keep things under wraps but despite his age, which is thousands of years old, he's getting attached and showing his jealousy more frequently than he or any of the other lords are prepared for I think. But I will say, the other lords staring incredulously in stupefied silence as Bal loses his cool over Gwynn combined with Bal's resulting reaction are some of my favorite events in the book. Truly amusing. I can't say that I'm rooting for Gwynn though, she's on the border of unlikeable for me and with questionable morals and character flaws that I dislike, I'm finding that I root against her happiness. They travel to Nial's lands in this book which was a nice change of pace but an opportunity was missed to introduce us to more of the culture of Nial's people.

Two things from this book. One, the intimate scenes are plentiful, similar to the first book. And it wouldn't surprise me in the least if Dorian and Bal are brothers.

Dark, diabolical, & delightful!

I don’t know what to say that will do this book justice. It was dark and twisted. An absolute delight to read. I literally could not put it down once I started reading.
I loved Gwen in the first book and love her even more after reading this one. So much sass and cunning intelligence in one character without seeming fake or overdone.
Kimber- there was so much growth and insight into her character that you can’t help wanting to know and experience more.
All the male love interests- I can’t even begin to explain how intriguing they all are.
I’m very much looking forward to the next book!

Going into this book from the first i was super excited to get back into Gwen's story.... So I waited.. and waited... So much Kimber at the beginning. You'd think I'd be bummed since she was my lesser favorite of the two in the first book. WRONG. Whew! Kimber has some definite life changes in this book but seriously for the better. Because shit is about to get HAWT. I'll let you read for yourself ;) & then Gwen.... YUM. Pleasantly surprised by the swoony relationship that develops. I CAN'T wait for the 3rd book to come out!

What the hell??

***********************SPOILERS****************************

DON’T READ BEYOND THIS POINT UNLESS YOU WANT TO SOME SCENES FROM THE BOOK SPOILED!!

I loved this book!! It was amazing!! I found myself laughing out loud throughout most of them book. My family thought that I was crazy! Especially during a part when I screamed out, “Damn you, Scarlett! Why did you do this to me?!?” My family slowly backed away from me at that point.

Anyways this book is jam packed with mysteries and some riddles and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what it meant. But given that this is one of Scarlett’s books, I should have known to expect some mysteries like the one we were given when Nial got that question answered by the Three. Or even what the hell the cliff hanger meant! (Why, Scarlett? Why do you have to leave me like this? All sobbing for the new book that I can’t have yet).

On top of that, I loved reading about Gwen’s and Kimber’s relationships. I loved reading about their interactions with their significant others (👈🏻I’m dying on the inside about this sentence but you won’t know why until you read the book! Lol 😂 ) however, when it came to who each of them were going to be with I can honestly say it wasn’t what I expected it be, well at least not all of it.

All in all, you should read this book (but start with Queen of Gods) it’s amazing!!

Ahem. - throat clearing-
WOW. Someone described this as "sexy". No this is not.
Someone described this as "steamy". That is closer.
This book is debauched. It made me put it down and walk away and shaking my head and saying what the f*#k. Uncontrollable horrified laughter.
In a good way. Not in the R Lee Smith way, but something enjoyable yet waayyy over my lines.
Made me blush, when my husband would ask me if I was enjoying my latest book.
How do you answer that??
I just told him it was terrible in the worst possible way and that he needs to meet me upstairs. :)

JUST an FYI, forget the 18+ crowd, this should be 30+. It makes her King series seem pre-teen.
Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining. I love the story line, the worlds, the manly men, the sexy times, all of it, and I now have to have this drawn out over 6 books.
Why can't it be like Netflix where all the episodes are released at once???
Bravo Ms. Dawn

An exhilarating read I desperately want more of!

This book was even better than the first! What a ride! Hot druids, vamps and only god knows what, get it on at every opportunity leading to some seriously hot scenes! I was highly anticipating these! Secrets and feelings are revealed and more tremors from the spine occur, and a Druid must face his challenges if he wants to be King of the Vampires. I am seriously anxious for the next installment! I should have waited until they were all written! Well done ladies. This gets more intense with every turn of the page.

Love this series

I can honestly say I think I like this book more then the last one and that's saying a lot. Wasn't sure I liked Kimber as much as I liked Gwyne in the first book. But now they have equal places in my heart. A lot comes to pass in the second book and I like the current lovers of the book together. With one exception being I feel bad slightly for our new God King. Without spoiling it I just want to say I don't think he is as bad a guy as Gwyne makes him out to be. That being said I loved this book and can't wait for the next one!

Decisions

So very entertaining. Once Kimmber part came in to play I really didn't want her story to stop, but Gwen would start. I really like how the book would go back in forth with both of these women. I still can't decide who I want to know about more.
