Myth has it that on the Gray Plantation there is an unfortunate hex on love. It's said to date back three generations, and it has caused nothing but heartache between the handsome Gray Men, and the Beautiful Kent Women. With history repeating itself, the lovely Jada Kent is now in the center of this unlucky folk’s tale.
The two brothers, Marlon and A’keem Gray, find themselves even more drawn to the alluring Kent woman. Jada has returned home to face love head on. She finds an undeniable attraction in both men, but what the heart wants may not be what the heart can handle. She wants nothing more than to put an end to the so-called family curse that has seemed to stop the Kent women from ever finding true love.
However, a love like this is unheard of, and with secrets scattered across the Gray Plantation it can only make it harder for a girl to ever choose wisely. Will the return back to her roots finally destroy everything that the Grays have worked so hard to get past? Or, will a union with either Marlon or A’keem Gray finally put an end to this ongoing family feud?
With a winning combination of romance, drama, conflict, and humor, ‘Southern Gossip’ will have readers captivated and definitely wanting more.
Whew! Frenzied drama during the introduction of these characters, mainly the Grays & Kents. I liked this story, had an old school feel to it. It seems Jada's return has some in a tizzy. Looking forward to reading next part to see what else stirs up as the drama continues to unfold
I am giving this book 2 stars not because I did not like. I actually love the plot and theme. But I want more. There framework is there but no sustenance. There is so much that Tiece could do with this story. This could actually become a historical read with some romance, comedy, and drama that is character driven. This book/series has a lot of potential. I look forward to read the next book to see what happens to the Kents and the Grays
This was a different kind of read for me. A big change from the street life and the drugs. It was a very laid back kind of read with a southern flair. You still get the drama, but it has a more laid back feel to it. There is also plenty of secrets to keep you wondering. Poor Jada really has a dilemma on her hands. I can't wait to see how things will turn out in part 2.
This was a great book. There was drama but it was not to over the top. I love to read urban fiction however, sometimes the drama in them can be way too much and Southern Gossip was a get break from all of that. The flowed perfectly and it kept my attention throughout the entire book. I am so looking forward to the next book in this series, it will be very interesting to see what has gone on between the Grey's and Kent's.
Hmm. This was a different read. Southern Gossip was about a group of rich ppl living on a plantation. The magazine though with the section "Here's the tea" lol was off the chain!! Celeste is about to spill some secrets honey!
OMG I read this book back in 2017 and now it’s 2020 and she made a book 2. Juicy a** book! Baby she did that I love the story line and the characters she chose for the book. This love triangle is starting back up and in full effect!
Ooohhh Tiece!!! Southern gossip is something else. There was always some gossip but it became juicier once Jada Kent returns. Who would have ever thought history would continue to repeat itself for three generations. Marlon is the good one that seems to have his priorities together, where as A'Keem is the bad boy that doesn't seem to have a care in the world. The chicks they're dealing with are crazy. I wish Jennifer insecure ass would go somewhere and Regina will stop acting as if she's in a relationship when she's really not. I wonder how Marlon will feel after he finds out Jennifer was the one to tell A'Keem about the surprise. Seth is something else as well with all that instigating. Man I'm ready for part 2 to see just how Celeste will show Lynn how it is to be on the opposite side of the gossip and the outcome of Jada finally revealing why she left. This is most definitely proving to be a complicated love story.
This was a refreshing tale that revolved around a generational curse which was placed on two families in the south. The myth about this curse has been going on for three generations. It is set in a small town where everyone knows everyone's business thanks to the town's gossip column. The two families, the Grays & the Kents, have been the topic of the column plenty of times due to the drama between the Gray men and the Kent women.
I was pleased to come across this story as it was different from anything in the urban fiction genre that I've read in quite some time. While it does take a little time to get into the meat of the story, the contents and drama leave the reader highly anticipating part two.
I stayed up all night to finish this book. It was good, but it was missing something. Hopefully I'll find it in the next book. I'm a little disappointed that this isn't a stand alone book, because Tiece is known for taking forever and a day to write follow up books (i.e: Scarlett 4, Dope Boys 2, and Checkmate 4) and I honestly hate waiting a year or longer for another less than 200 pages book.
As Jada read that paper it was like I was reading the paper. The tea that was spilt was so juicy, can't wait for the second installment. Read this book already 4 times patiently waiting for part 2.
3.5 stars. Just as it finally got juicy the story ended. Nice prequel to some book I suppose. My favorite Gray is Seth because he is just so messy. Enjoyed it overall. I'll have to find out if Tiece followed up with the characters
I enjoyed this book it took me a minute to get into it but when I did it stopped. So I want to know more about the Gray and Kent feud. Will Jada get her man or will someone else have him. And Fern who is she.. Well I have to wait and see..
I loved this book ! Wasn't sure if I would like it in the beginning but boy I tell you ...Tiece did her thang ! You have to get this book, you will not be disappointed ! Can't wait for part 2 ! #TeamJada
This was a 3.5 read for me. This was a prequel so book 2 will tell the story I hope. There is potential here for a 5 star book I only hope the author delivers.
Was a cute story but wish it w a s wrapped up in this book. Now to interested in the next book. Dragged the story out not to resolve anything in the story.
