One busy woman. One crazy day. One wayward umbrella. One handsome stranger... and a whole lot of trouble!
Harriet’s happy. Isn’t she?
She has a husband–who barely registers she exists these days.
She has a daughter– who is growing up fast and wants to date the local bad boy.
She has a home–which is a cramped and dilapidated flat in the eaves of the family business, a charming but worse for wear Lake District hotel they inherited from his parents.
She has a job–sort of. Her days are spent filling in for assorted hotel staff at the last minute, from running reception to cooking for the guests and cleaning bedrooms.
And when Harriet accidentally bashes a handsome stranger in the eye with her mind-of-its-own umbrella and has to rush him to the town’s doctor, her life starts to unravel even further...
Is everything falling apart, never to be repaired? Can she manage to piece her relationship, her family and the hotel back together? Or is it time for a fresh start?

Zanna Mackenzie lives in the UK with her husband, 3 dogs, a vegetable patch that’s home to far too many weeds and an ever expanding library of books waiting to be read.
Being a freelance writer and editor of business publications is her ‘day job’ but, at every opportunity, she can be found scribbling down notes on scenes for whatever novel she’s working on. She loves it when the characters in her novels take on minds of their own and start deviating from the original plot!
Formerly a travel agent and therapist (she has qualifications in clinical aromatherapy, crystal healing, naturopathic nutrition and herbalism) she loves walking the dogs and gardening – that’s when she’s not writing or reading!
This is a beautifully written book about a married couple Ollie and Harriet who inherited a family owned hotel that demands a lot of money and Ollie’s time. Harriet feeling lonely and in second place to the hotel she begins to question if herself if Ollie still loves her or just wants her around to help with the Joel. Then she meets flirty Logan an old friend of Ollie’s and she thinks he’s a really nice guy and friend but when he puts the moves on her she’s not as unhappy as she thought. After having a discussion with Ollie in the hotel restaurant Ollie realizes he needs to bring back the happiness in his marriage and sets out to get their HEA! Great book if you get a chance to read it don’t turn it down.
This is well written and has a plot that is well sorted out. It shows how a married couple copes with a constant run of work, especially on the husband's part. It has tenderness that warms the heart.
