#1 Bestseller in Christian Romantic Suspense, and Christian Collections & Anthologies.

When decorated Silver Stone Police Captain Robert Towers leaves home after a bad day with his wife and doesn’t return, all eyes turn to his wife, Ruby Towers, for answers. But as his disappearance stretches from one day to the next, it raises conflicts about the state of their marriage, his love for his family, and his dedication to duty. Caught between the glare of public suspicion and her own confusion, while unable to explain Robert’s disappearance to their daughter, Ruby is left with one viable option—to pray hard—and that she does.

With the clock ticking, she wonders whether their love could surmount the situation as it unravels, or if her husband is gone for good—by choice or by force. Will she find out before time runs out? Will Captain Robert Towers ever make it home again?

Silver Stone Police Captain Robert Towers leaves home after a bad day with his wife. He doesn't return. Until...

Day after day, Ruby Towers wondered if her husband is gone for good, by choice or forced.

From sentence one, I was drawn in. I kept reading, wanting to know what was going to happen. Small clues kept my interest high.

Loyal and dedicated would be two words that describe Robert Towers. Great qualities. He loves his family. It shows.

Suspense flowed throughout this clean-read book. I thought about the story in between readings, eager to get back to it. What a great series. Faith in action without sounding preachy. I look forward to the next book.

This the fourth book in the series The New Rulebook and it is filled with suspense, intrigue, and danger. Robert Towers is a captain with the Silver Springs Police Department and his sudden disappearance initially leaves his wife as a possible suspect. As she struggles to prove her innocence and works to find him Ruby must remain strong for their daughter Ritz, even as she considers that she may never see her husband again. Many people facing this situation could have begun to doubt God's presence but instead there is trust, faith and prayer. I was especially touched by a scene when Ruby and Ritz both prayed for the safe return of their loved one and I appreciate that each chapter of this book begins with Bible scripture.

If you like contemporary romance and Christian suspense you will definitely enjoy reading Vanished by Joy Ohagwu.

I received a complimentary copy of this book but I was under no obligation to review it.

Vanished…

He’s up and gone…. simply vanished. What happened? Could an argument with his wife cause him to take off, to disappear? Ruby is baffled. Her husband left without a trace. Fingers are pointing straight at her. Just what happened and can this marriage survive?

Was the argument Robert had with Ruby the last straw, or did he flee due to more nefarious reasons… after all he is the police captain and a decorated one at that. He’s not one to run from trouble but he will chase it down.

👁 OBSERVATIONS
I have purchased many of Joy's books and seldom am disappointed. I find most of her work can be read as a standalone, even if it's part of a series. This book, at times, runs slower than I prefer but it sets the pace and scenes for things to come.

The New Rulebook from Joy Ogwu is a great suspense series based on Christian principles. The story is exciting but also moving and faith building. The story makes you think about your own life, what place God and His promises have in your life and how you deal with them. The series has great characters that you get to know well. The story is very exciting and captivating until the end. Joy knows how to keep the tension in and always give it a great twist. The series is a great example of how to live the Christian life. Some fragments are so real and moving that they touch your heart deeply.

Randy is Chief of Police, a mission to be done, leaving without telling Red.
What’s even worse, destination unknown, and a global threat, Ruby is getting worried, she has a note and his ring, what is going on, he has never done anything like this. Charlie comes not as a friend, but as one investigating a missing person. He briefly knows what Robert was working on, best not to say anything. Strength in their faith carried them through
Strong. Christain story, when the odds of seeing each other are slim, and three months passes.

Clandestine Agency Win

This is the first of this series I have read. It is excellent! If you like undercover assignments and a cast of characters that you can fall in love with, then you want to read this. Yes, it is part of a series, but easily read as a standalone. Robert, Ruby and Ritz undergo a transformation of increased faith as Robert goes off suddenly into places unknown on a top secret mission. First thought to have been kidnapped, his family and his disappearance come under extreme scrutiny. But finally the truth is known and a city is saved.

Joy Ohagwu did it again! Another can't put it down story. It was great getting to see Red and Robert 15 years into their marriage, still caring for and nurturing their love, even in uncertainty. The story was inspiring and suspenseful. Although, best read in order of the series, it can be read out of order if you don't mind a few spoilers. I highly recommend to anyone who loves a good suspense novel that is a clean read!

Very disappointing

The previous three books brought the reader to a thrilling climax while this book lacked direction and continuity. There were characters that really had nothing to do with the story and there were times when I didn't know what was going on. This felt more like a prologue for the next series of books. I am interested to see how the story progresses because the other books were so promising.

Really enjoy this author, but this was the toughest of the series and why I gave it less than five stars. I felt the early part ran on a little long and the reaction of red was a little out of character given their back grounds and previous life experience. I enjoyed the family aspect and the challenges of maintaining a strong marriage over time. Would have like more detail about Robert's mission. Overall a good read, but I feel it could have been even better.

This book started out kinda slow for me. I didn't understand all the chapters about Ruby's struggle with Robert's disappearance. It seemed to drag on & on. Then things switched to what was happening with Robert & things got really interesting & very suspenseful. I couldn't get to the end of the book quickly enough. It all makes sense at the end which was not what I expected. Really good, however. I received an ARC. This is my honest, voluntary review.

Robert and Ruby continue to be excellent protagonists in the New Rulebook series! This time Robert vanishes and Ruby is suspected of murdering him! You will learn about modern day espionage in Vanished! I recommend Vanished to others who enjoy suspense. I received a complimentary e-book of Vanished from the author. This is my honest opinion.

Ruby’s faith is tested … her husband disappears, and she doesn’t know where … she is a suspect. All she has is her unshakeable love for God and for her husband to fall back on. Prayer sustains her. Is her husband gone by choice? A breakneck mystery! It brings home our reliance on God when we’re at our lowest. I received a free copy of this book, with no obligation.

Great book

This series is a breath of fresh air. I love that there is a suspenseful story that includes a couple’s story but the couple’s romance isn’t the whole story. The faith struggles and victories are encouraging and equipping to read.

Although the premise was a little fantastic this book had the most intense suspense in the series. I enjoyed that.

Good read

Another great book by Joy Ohagwu. Quite a few years have passed since the last book and it's interesting to see how old minor characters have a small part too

Gone

I loved this book! It was full of suspense that was intriguing. As Robert disappeared from his life, leaving outsiders to speculate foul play, Ruby was distraught and scared. The emotional roller coaster was extremely overwhelming. The potential for doubt is great, thus questioning God. Thankfully, the book ended positively for this Godly family, and relationships grew. Read this series to find God in many dangerous circumstances.

I ended up really liking this book, but for the first half I was put off by it. I devoured the first 3 in this series, but this 4th book started out with what seemed like unrealistic drama. It seemed contrived and not believable. As I stated above, it did get better and ended well, but it took quite a while to get into it.
