These two horrifying short stories were selected from, Macabre Stories Vol.1, by the author, Leandro Coria. Learn the fate of a lonely old man as he tries to fight off his demons. See what happens to two young criminals as they tried to hide in the dark woods. Enjoy.
This one was difficult to rate. There are two stories so I'll rate them individually:
The Night Visitors -- ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Night Visitors is well-crafted. The author does a good job a keeping the mystery going as suspense builds. He succeeds in creating a story that holds the reader's interest as it advances, up to the surprise ending.
The Robbers -- ⭐⭐
The Robbers misses its target. The story has a good beginning to what is a promising mystery. The trouble lies not with the story -- it is a good one -- but in the mechanics. There is much lost in the writing, mostly in content. Some grammar usage, cliche's, and run-on sentences distract from the building tension, so much so, that I almost stopped reading. To be fair, I did finish the story. A lot could be gained from editing, making the read more palatable.
Really enjoyed these two stories. Perfect for reading on the bus (which is where I read my ebooks). Ordered Coria's two other books, hopefully they are equally entertaining :)
