I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.
Nick is a demanding but oh so drool worthy Dom - His character is true to self and easy to connect with Sofia is the perfect compliment to Nick's personality The two together provide for a riveting and suspenseful story- There are so many hidden twists and "No don't" and "OMG it isn't" scenes woven amongst some very tender and beautifully portrayed love scenes - many times I found my heart racing as I gripped the edges of my kindle looking for some form of emotional stability I received a review copy of this book and it is the first I have read in the series. I had no problem keeping up with the characters though I know I will be going back to the beginning to get all the dirty deets.
It starts out with a young Nick and his sub, Lia, and she has a doctors appointment that requires her not to wear her collar, as she had been collared by Nick. So he unhooks her collar for her. Little does he know that the reason is due to a scan that will forever change her life and his. For months she wouldn't see him and when he finally knew what was going on and was always at the hospital until right before she died and she asked him to take her home to die at home. He did. He got himself into trouble with gambling. Now 8 years later a friend of his drags him out on the anniversary of Lia death to Bounds, a BDSM club, where first he meets Sofia when she makes him a drink. Non-alcoholic drink to be exact. He wonders looking for his friend. Weh he finds his friend playing he bows out and finds himself dealing with a screaming woman and trying to stop a guy from kidnapping her. She was drugged. It seems like an open and shut case of catching the guy that did this and Nick was the hero who saved the girl.
Too bad that isn't what happened. I suppose there wouldn't be much to the story if Nick hadn't been accused of being the one that tried to kidnap the girl. Again Sofia made him a drink. And because of waiting on Victor, Sofia's boss, and all the commotion going with the police and whatnot, Sofia missed her ride home and was going to take the train. Nick wouldn't allow her. It was then he found something in Sofia. As much as she tried to bug him off, he just wouldn't. Thus began a quick relationship. But who is trying to get Nick to take the blame for the kidnappings going on? And Victor, why is he so interested in getting Nick to break his 18-month streak of not gambling?
You will have to read In His Collar to find out.
The beginning is absolutely sad. I hated that a very young Nick had to deal with a loss like at such a young age. That the woman he loved was so young with stage 4 liver cancer had lost her battle. The pain he went through. The addiction that he craved after she was gone. The crappy things that happened in result of it.
Sofia didn't have it easy either. Dealing with her mother's death at 17 and raising her sister after the fact, who had been 12 at the time of her death. She worked many jobs. Crappy jobs while trying to go to college and then putting her sister through college and sacrificing her own life to make sure her sister got a better one.
Their story is crazy and fun. Scary and relieving. I wanted to cry at the beginning. The sadness of someone going like that, with cancer, many knows, including myself. The book was full of surprises and some adventure. The sex scenes weren't so much into detail. I like details. It could have used more. Other than it could've been more in details about things, I enjoyed it very much. I would recommend this book to those who read what I do. Thank you for a good read.
Nicholas knows tragedy. He lived it and now he just wants to get past it, but it's not always as easy as it may seem. Nicholas brother and the board of the company don't trust him, for good reasons, but when he's trying to prove that he's doing better, he falls for a girl and then everything goes to hell... for them both.
Sofia works hard to keep herself and her sister in a good situations, sort of speaking. She wants to get away from her bartending job and is waiting for the right time to move one to better things. Sadly, better things don't come without a high cost for this girl.
I like the hero redeeming himself kind of stories and this was no exception. In truly Patricia Eddy's fashion, this book was not only focus on the couple but in a bigger picture, which include suspense, mystery and the Mafia. I do have to say this was a well written book with some aspect of BDSM, but that was not a very prominent feature in the story.
Let me tell you that I was very irritated and even upset with Sofia's sister actions. That girl deserved some spanking or some discipline because OMG she was out of control. I doesn't matter that she got a trip coming up, that she was a good student. Nothing is good excuse to treat Sofia the way she did. If she was my sister... I don't know what I would have done.
This book has one more thing I like to read in books, just to see how the author can manage it: kidnapping. Patricia did a very good job in those instances and I have to say I'm glad she lives up to my expectation with each new book in this series.
That being said. I don't like how Nicholas addiction was handle, and I don't mean what he did to get better. I mean how Alex treated him. I get that he was a bad person in the past, that he let the addiction almost destroy everything he had work so hard for, but a brother is a brother in my opinion and the way Alex reacted to Nicholas... I can understand where he came from but I done condone it, in the least.
Lastly I want to say: I did not see that coming. The plot twists and who was actually the bad guy caught me by surprise and that was just amazing. I truly love when a book can surprise me like that and it makes my appreciation for the writing craft of the author, even higher.

I am going to try to be as ambiguous as possible in this review, I would hate to give any spoilers away. Lia has left Nick, and the book picks up eight years later. Nicholas Fairhaven finds himself back in a BDSM club named Bound. There’s a certain detachment in the way Nick wanders the club. We learn that since Lia, Nick has had a ive in slave, Candy, she was a temporary balm for his loneliness Nick recalls. When Nick interferes with an abusive Dom trying to sedate his sub, he finds himself taking punches and when the dust settles, picks up the sedated woman. He is finally recognized at the club, unconscious woman in his arms and emptied syringe by his feet. Let the photos commence. Now, because arcs have a deadline, and most times there’s not a lot of lead time, I was lucky to receive arcs for In His Silks, which I lost on a kindle reboot and went back and purchased it. Next came the arc for All Tied Up For New Years, actually I had already pre ordered this book before I received this arc. I purchased Christmas Silks, but have not had the time to read it yet, so I was coming in blind to Nick and Lia’s full story, having said that, you can read this book as a stand-alone. I am however, now anxious to read Christmas Silks because Nick is a great male character lead. Sofia is a great heroine for Nick to play off of. There’s a seediness to this story. It’s refreshingly honest in depicting Nick’s life sans Lia. Nick’s going to a BDSM club and viewing it as a non participant, probably for the first time is well told. His organic attraction to Sofia and his struggle to keep his addiction in his past feels realistic. Any Fairhaven family story is well written, beautifully paced and meticulously told. I would probably find this author’s grocery list interesting. I know that as soon as my arc commitments are met, my first read will be Christmas Silks, as a gift to myself, Holidays and Heroes is after that..off to buy on Amazon. I’ve decided to end 2017 on a book high with this book being my last book of the year. I just hope I can hold off until tomorrow to sneak a peek at Christmas Silks.
“In His Collar” is a professionally written, romantic suspense with merely shades of BDSM (pun intended). Those looking for an erotically inclined, BDSM novel may want to pass on this one. If you’re looking for a contemporary romance with intrigue and suspense then you have come to the right place.
Unfortunately, I found “In His Collar” disappointing and had difficulty becoming invested in the narrative for many reasons. Both the title and cover elude to a BDSM novel but with the male protagonist’s characterization and merely three or four lack luster intimate encounters the novel kind of fizzled rather than sizzled. I found the narrative a bit lengthy, spent quite a bit of time skimming and didn’t miss much except a great deal of repetitive inner monologue. I also never connected with the male lead who appeared weak and vulnerable rather than dominate. An individual with his issues and self-doubt should not be attempting to dominate anyone and I was never convinced that he did. He lacked any self-confidence or control within his life and quite frankly came off as a hot mess. It appeared as if nearly every decision he made was disastrous… not exactly Dom material. Although the heroine was also quite vulnerable she appeared much more capable, in control, a better judge of both character and questionable situations. Perhaps for those reasons I never felt a true connection between the lead characters that is so necessary to establish trust within a D/s relationship. The story also had far too many elements to keep up with. More character interaction and dialogue is also needed to evoke readers emotions, increase reader investment and ensure a connection to the main characters. Without these primary components, a novel is left with nothing more than suspenseful storytelling with one to many components.
“In His Collar” is an OK romantic thriller but as a BDSM novel… will probably leave most readers totally unsatisfied.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Nick is still struggling with the death of his previous lover. When she died he spiraled out of control and started gambling. This vice caused him to lose a lot of his personal wealth and his good name was reduced to nothing. He cleaned up his act and is now trying to rebuild his life and his name. While he doesn’t have the fortune that he once did he’s not penniless either. A night out to humor a friend has put him in a tabloid situation that may derail the new clean start he’s going for.
Sofia happened to be tending bar the night Nick visited the BDSM club. She is a bit surprised by Nick actually treating her as a person with a brain. While Sofia in the past was into the scene of being a “sub” her drive to be able to provide for her sister has taken over every aspect of her life. She hasn’t dated in eons and doesn’t have the time to get involved with anyone.
Nick is a natural Dom but since he lost his previous lover he has not been in the mood to be intimate with anyone. Sofia is not his usual type but he is drawn to her and wants to try and take on some of her responsibility so he can see her more.
This book has lots of elements almost bordering on one two many to keep a track of. You have recovering gambling addict Nick, over worked under appreciated Sofia, spoiled younger sister Gina, BDSM scenes, shady past connections, mob connections, human trafficking, betrayal, tabloids, and demanding board members. While Nick and Sofia both are really nice people I was finding a hard time connecting with them for some reason. Plus the call me “sir” in the bedroom does nothing for me, (kind of a turn off really). I was hoping to really like this book like I liked “All Tied Up For New Years Eve” by this author. That book I immediately connected with the characters and totally engaged in their storyline. This one just seemed to jump around a lot and just had too many elements coming at you, at least for me it was.
I both pre-ordered this book and received it as an ARC through Hidden Gems, which I suppose labels me as a fan. Either way, this is my honest review. I loved the book but this may be the one book in this series that you must read after In His Silks. In the first book, you meet Nick, a struggling but trying-to-recover gambler. You don't hear many details about the whys, whats and whos of his life, but you are introduced to him and the problems he's had. That knowledge, when you open In His Collar, gives you the background on which this book is built. This book is solely about Nicholas and Sofia. From their meeting at a club called Bound, to their totally and completely unorthodox courtship, this book screams Patricia Eddy's style. There is NO getting bored with this book, because you have no clue what is going to happen on the next page, except that you KNOW something is going to happen. The book is seductive in a different sort of way from her other books. Nick and Sofia face danger throughout this book, which makes their moments together that much more poignant and sensual. The two together are HOT, and the scenes between them are steamy.
I would highly recommend this book as part of a wonderful series surrounding the Fairhaven brothers. More than that I would recommend the author as knowing exactly what being "in his collar" means. She has perfectly described the power exchange that occurs when a Dominant finds his Submissive. Her characters talk to each other, everything is consensual and safe, there is no abuse disguised as BDSM, and any description of pain is fleeting, quickly turning into sheer pleasure for both the recipient and the reader. I'm narrowing my list of authors I will read, and Patricia Eddy will not only remain on that list, but shall stay on the top. Her books are truly keepers.
Nick and Sofia do not know what they are getting themselves into when they meet for the first time. Their story is full of passion and lust with a side of suspense. Nick is out on the town on the anniversary of losing someone he loved when he meets Sofia. They have a moment that some people take notice of and want to use it to their advantage. Nick feels something intense with Sofia that he hasn’t felt in years and will do anything to get what he wants. All the while he is trying to keep his life on track but there are people working in the background trying to keep him down. Sofia is living her life trying to meet her goals and staying afloat. When she meets Nick, she doubts herself and how can she fit into his world. Sharing a space with her sister and working herself to the bone is not helping matters. Nick and Sofia being together is creating enemies and they must work together to figure out who is trying to destroy them. This is what I would call an erotic suspenseful romance and it gives passion at its finest. It’s a quick read and it does keep you in suspense the whole time. Through it all Nick and Sofia take their relationship to new heights with every scene. Their personalities match one another well which makes for an explosive chemistry. The only thing I can say bad about the book was the actions scene were a little hard to follow. This is an intense romance of betrayal, kidnapping, with some passion and love thrown in.

ARC Fronted to me for a Voluntary and Honest Review.
I loved the book📚 because it deals with several current human problems, Cancer, Human Trafficking, and unscrupulous people that will take bribes to break the law, and cause other people suffering.
Such a great story. This is a different Billionaire Love story. In most of them, the Billionaire seems to be broken from something that happened in his childhood, but in this story, the thing that broke Nick was losing Lia.
Nick is just existing in his life until his friend makes him go out with him one night to a club. Nick really has no interest in being there, but he couldn’t stand the thought of staying home alone on this night either. He’s never been to Bound before, and he is not impressed with the place, but the bar tender is a different story all together. Maybe he is alive after all.
Sofia is working to pay for her college and to keep her little sister from having to work to get through college. Now she is almost done her undergrad degree and her sister is done with hers and ready to go out on her own to get her Masters degree and make a life for herself, in Germany. Sofia is sad that her sister is leaving her, but she is happy for her little sister. Gina wants to live a little before she moves to Germany to begin studying and working her butt off. The problem is the guy she wants to do this with. He’s not who she thinks he is and she ends up in more trouble than she is prepared for.
Nick’s past comes back to hurt him and Sofia gets drug into the danger because she is attracted to Nick and there is something there that they both want to pursue. However, they have to survive before they can see what is ahead for them, and they have to prove that they are the good guys.
If you like the Billionaire love stories, but with a bit of a twist, then this is a great book to pick up and read. I highly recommend it.
I didn’t think that Patricia Eddy could top or tie In His Silks with Alexander and Elizabeth, who happen to be in my top my top 10 of all couples but the author proved me wrong. We got a glimpse of Nick (Alexander’s older brother) previously and now this is his story. Nick’s struggles, addiction, grief, loss how he hit rock bottom and what he is doing to keep on track and how he battles everyday to keep his addiction at bay. I couldn’t help but feel for him especially when he showed his vulnerability....got me misty eyed. He meets Sofia at a BDSM club where she is the bartender and that first night he gets involved when he rescues a woman from a kidnaping but he also gets involved with Sofia. Sofia is a bit wary of the handsome billionaire....what can he see in her....but he doesn’t give up on her and soon she can’t resist him anymore. Unfortunately the club where she works has some shady going ons and her & Nick are neck deep in the mess, not knowing who to trust, who to turn to or what to do, they have to rely on each other to survive...will it be enough ? WHAT A READ !!! The twists and turns, the spine tingling/toe curling steamy scenes, the heart pounding action, the nail biting suspense, the strength, self sacrificing, compassionate Sofia and the heart stopping, vulnerable, loving man Nick. All that and more rolled into this read makes a read that couldn’t be put down and shouldn’t be missed. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Nick and Lia had been together for 3 years and two of those she wore his collar. Lia hadn't been feeling well and went for tests only to find out she had cancer. Nick finally realized that he should have looked closer to her wants but he didn't realize until she passed away.
Nick was drags by his friend to a BDSM club which made it a sore spot in his heart it was on the anniversary of Lia death. Sofia was a bartender at the Club and since there was not any liquor she would blend up teas. A troublesome almost kidnapping happened at the club and Nick plus other Masters came to his aide. In the middle of everything there were picture of Nick that put him in a bad light.
Sofia boss wanted her to get him back to gambling or lose her job. Nick and Sophia spoke about what was going on and about the gambling that went on in the club. As much as she wanted Nick out of her life but finally gave in to see him. Nick realized that she was a natural sub and also realized that he wanted her but, with the situation the way it was he was bound to protect her.
Twists, turns, kidnapping and the mob makes this a exciting book
Where 'All Tied Up for New Years' was a truly emotional rollercoaster... 'In His Collar' starts out with the death we knew was coming, and then packs a ton of action into this sensual tale.
After dinner the previous night, he’d known his feelings for Sophia were serious and potentially long-lasting. Something about her calmed the beast inside him, and he wanted her in his life for more than just a single date and long night of passion.
Nick has been an intriguing staple of the Restrained series since the very first book, wrapped up in the tragedy, turmoil and mistakes that we know haunt him. IHC gives us a closer look at exactly how the events of the past unfolded... and how Sofia provides that chance for him to finally heal.
I was at the edge of my seat throughout the entire story. There was a perfect balance of romance, steam and the mystery that Nick and Sofia became caught up in, and I was thoroughly surprised at the twist tossed at us near the end.
The entire Restrained series is the perfect spicy binge read, and I'd highly recommend.
Nick had it all. Until he lost the one person who mattered most. He thought he'd mastered his demons for good. But someone wants to use them against him—and they don't care who's caught in the crossfire. Its not very often that I don't finish a book, but I just couldn't with this one, Nick and his girlfriend is a carbon copy of book 1 in this series, the brothers are supposed to be Dominant men but they are far from it, they are weak and have troublesome, needy partners. I also has this series on audiobook, Nick had an American accent in the first and in this one he had both, the male narrator doing an American accent, while the female narrator giving him a British accent so I'm not sure what happened there. The most annoying thing about this series is the repetitive use of 2 words, Shite and Cheri. This series was just not for me unfortunately and was a very poor representation of a Dom, Sub relationship and a story line that had too many flaws to detail.
Usually I'm not a fan of insta-love, but somehow it worked for me in this book. This is a really well written and engaging romantic suspense, with a side serving of BDSM. The book totally drew me in and kept me engaged throughout.
I really liked both Nick and Sophia, they were a both very likeable and believable characters. The chemistry between them was intense and super hot! I liked how well they communicated too, no silly keeping secrets etc. I was surprised how much I liked Nick, he hadn't come across too well in previous books, but finding out about Lia cast a whole new light on him. Sophia was so strong and independent, which made her submission even more beautiful.
There is a lot of intrigue and some real plot twists in the story, the pace held my attention and I totally enjoyed reading this book.
Fourth book in series, but can be read as standalone. I have not read the other books and had no trouble following and really enjoying the story. Told in dual POV with HEA. Not just a BDSM story but real characters with great story to keep and hold your interest. Nick has an addiction and has had past dealings with the mob. Sofia works bar-tending at a BDSM club and has always worked two jobs and gone to school as she has also had to care for her younger sister for the last 10 years after their parents died in a auto accident. This story has some mob, some human trafficking, and some bad cops to add to the suspense. I enjoyed the book and highly recommend. I loved the epilogue. ARC review.
Attraction can't be contained, even if the timing isn't ideal. Nick and Sophia don't have time for the instant attraction that flairs between them. This book has elements of BDSM in it, but the full story is so much richer. Nick's life has been slowly coming back together and Sophia has dreams and aspirations that can finally come true. If you're familiar with the series, Nick has been an element but we get to finally know and understand him here. Despite the sub role in their dynamic, Sophia is smart and strong. There is quite an element of suspense and surprise thanks to some twists, and it all builds beautifully. It is certainly an exciting read. This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.
Nick Fairhaven is a Master who lives to be in control. He lost almost everything though when he couldn't control his gambling. Now he's in a daily battle not to relapse. He meets Sofia Oliviera at a BDSM club immediately wants to get to know her. Things start going downhill when Nick stops a young woman from being kidnapped at the club. Together he and Sofia must deal with illegal gambling, crooked cops, human traffickers, blackmail threats, a friend's betrayal, both the Russian and Italian Mafias and his being setup to take the fall for the disappearance of several women. While chaos swirls around them, Nick and Sofia fall in love.
I liked all the fast-paced action in this romantic suspense. Nick and Sofia are both strong characters, easily likeable and well written.
This story is about the Dom Nicholas Fairhaven (yes, Alexander's older brother) whom may have just met not only his perfect sub, but love. It is more than just hot sex. It has suspense. It has love. It has pain. And, it has pleasure. A great rollercoaster romance with grief, danger, human trafficking, gambling, BDSM, steamy scenes and corrupt cops. I have always enjoyed when true BDSM shows it's also about what the sub wants and needs, rather than Just about what the dom wants or needs. This definitely has several tear-jerker scenes but Eddy has a habit of putting tears in my eyes at least once in almost each book I've read of hers. Just as happy with this book as I was with the others in the series. I cannot wait for more to come!
This is the fourth book in the Series. I loved it so much! This is my favorite in the Series. You can listen to this audiobook as a standalone, but really, you don't want to miss one book in this Series! Nick and Sophia's story has it all: hot, suspenseful, action packed, and captivating. They share an instant attraction and a strong chemistry. The secondary characters are also very interesting. I love the ending. I totally recommend this book and this Series. The narration was perfection! I love Shane East's voice and he is perfect as Nick. Sandra Lea is a new narrator to me. She has a great voice, easy to understand. I will listen to this story (and Series) again. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.
This was a great romantic suspense! Having not read the previous books in the series, I was still able to follow along given the bits of Nick’s backstory provided throughout this book. The characters were well-developed and the plot and suspense flowed effortlessly. I loved how flawed Nick was due to his recent past and addiction. Sofia was kick-ass in her determination to raise and protect her sister. I was caught up in the mystery and the blossoming romance from the beginning of the story. There were some terrific twists that I hadn’t expected – allies and enemies came from unsuspected sources. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is part of a series, but is standalone. Told from dual POV and with HEA, so no cliffhanger.
We meet Nick, a gambling addict, in Club Bound, he attempts to help a girl from being kidnapped but unfortunately he lands himself in the middle of a sex slave ring, he meets a lovely bartender, Sofia, who's been looking after her younger sister since their parents died.
We go on a wild ride to save missing girls, a fledgling dom/sub relationship, moody entitled younger siblings, Corrupt cops and mobsters.
This is a wonderful well-written story, likable characters. A great start told within the BDSM world, sizzling sex but not the whole book.
I previously read "All Tied Up for New Year's" by this same author and my review of that book indicated that it was great, but not really a BDSM story. This book is also great but this has enough BDSM to satisfy anyone interested in the kink. This story has many facets: It is a story of a great love lost and the surviving partner's spiral into the depths of addiction. The potential for a second chance at love is threatened by sinister twists and turns in a great suspense novel. The book hits on all fronts and this is one that I can recommend with absolutely no reservation.
I received an advance copy of this review in exchange for my honest review.
Nick Fairhaven has been through a lot, lost the woman he loved and his career. Now he is getting his life back on track until his friend takes him to a BDSM club. While there he hears a woman screaming and rescues her from a would-be abductor. Although the tabloids believe he is now doing drugs and hurting woman. While at the club he meets Sofia who works there as a bartender, sparks fly but is someone out to ruin Nick? This is a fast paced read with lots of suspense and drama. I liked the characters and the chemistry is steamy. Nick as been through a lot and you really feel his pain and anguish. A good read.
This is definitely my favorite in the "Restrained" series. In the other books, Nick came off as cold and a little unfeeling and he gets to "redeem" himself in this one. We find out more about Nick's past and why he is like he is. Let me tell you what to expect in the book without giving spoilers. This story contains grief, addiction, illegal gambling, BDSM, sibling issues, blackmail, sex trafficking and questions of who to trust. As you can see, there is a lot packed in this story. I loved it and hope that will be more in this series.
*I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book from Hidden Gems which I am voluntarily reviewing"
When we meet Nick, his current sub at that time had worn his collar for two of the three years they had been together. When she finds out that she is sick, she hides it from Nick until a couple of weeks before she dies. From the beginning of the book, Ms. Eddy hooked me with the feelings of loss and sadness that was heart breaking. I loved the characters of Nick and Sophia and all the twists and turns that she was able to throw into the book that you never saw coming. Definitely a book that I want to keep on my list of books that I want to re-read.

Omg Nick is a Dom who lost his sub whom he fell in love with eight long years ago and now he is on the hunt for another sub and he thinks he just may have found her.
Sofia is a college student working her way through college. She is a smart girl. Sofia is in a bit of trouble where she work with this horrible thug Viktor. And maybe Nick can help her out.
The love scenes are steamy. There is action, bad guys, danger, sex trafficking and a sexy Dom whom may have just met not only his perfect sub, but love. Xoxo, Meme Chanell Book Corner
I have read all of the books in this series and it was great to finally read Nick’s story. Sofia is a strong independent women who has spent her adult life taking care of her sister with little thought to her own needs and desires. Nick has struggled to deal with the demons of his past but finds the strength to turn his life around in Sofia’s submission. This story as the others in the series was well written with fully developed characters that are easy to become connected to emotionally. I highly recommend this story and the others in the Restrained series.
