Tunnels is a short horror story. In search of a frightful evening's entertainment, Lilly and her reluctant partner take part in a ghost hunt at a nearby wartime fort run by an enthusiastic couple. They quickly realise that not only are ghosts very real, they are not welcoming to visitors either. Trapped in a series of tunnels beneath the fort, the group of ghost hunters begin to fall victim to the spirits within in this claustrophobic, intense tale of horror.

I would have given this 5 stars only for it was missing one bit of information... why? Why that night if they had visitors before? Or why them? The story itself was good, and the descriptions were enough for me to visualise the scenes....especially one in particular 'ouch'. For a short, I wouldn't expect much more, the characters were developed enough and the pace kept moving along nicely. If the story had included a reason why that night or why them, it might have made more sense. I'd still recommend for a quick read, particularly if you like stories similar to the Blair Witch. I will be looking at what else this author has churned out.
First off, what an excellent cover; it's what first caught my attention. This short read is high tension with a major spook factor. At times you feel you're right there with them experiencing the horror. The ending was great in that it left the story a more eerie and haunting mystery.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I began this story, but I can say now, after reading it, I'm glad I wasn't there!! Real or imagined? You will have to decide, but first, you must brave the 'Tunnels'!
