I was given this ARC for an honest review.
Emily and Reece thought everything would be better now, that Emily would be safe. Then comes Keila to save her from more evil.
Keila has gifts like Emily but she has been on the run since she was a kid. People she trust either end up dead or trying to kill her, so it's safest not to get too attached to people. Then she meets Jason a fireman who saved her life.
Jason the fireman saves Keila when a library is on fire. Since then he won't let her out of his sight, especially with a neanderthal trying to hurt her. He won't leave her no matter how much she tries to push him away. Even if it's her trying to protect him.
Having to live the life Keila did, always on the run and loosing people she tried to save. She is a survivor and reading her story I didn't know whether to pity her or give her a medal for dealing with it. Emily had Reece as her protector and Keila didn't get that connection herself until Jason. Reading how she fought with herself about her feelings was so heartbreaking but happy at the same time. Jason well he is definately a white knight for Keila. Let's just hope one day things will be different and safe for them.
I can't wait to read the next one.

This is a great follow up to book one. We also got to catch up with Emily and Reece.
Keila has had a tough life and her special abilities have only made it worse. Quite what is going on around those abilities has yet to be revealed to us. We do now know that it's further reaching than expected.
Jason was a lovely addition to this series, tough fireman but oh so caring and that touch of his lighthearted attitude a gift.
The characters, once again, are beautifully written, very 'real' and likable. The dialogue is realistic and flows well.
A thoroughly enjoyable read and I can't wait to read more in the next book. Hopefully Payton's book will reveal more of whatever evil is planning around the girls' special abilities.

I love keila and jasons story.
Keila's childhood was horrific. Living with religious adoptive/foster was difficult to say the least but when they try to kill her she finally escapes. By then she know love is for fools, or so she thinks. Knowing she can only depend on herself she has builds wall around herself determind never to let anyone close. Everytime she finds someone like her it ultimately gets them killed. She's determined that when she finds Emily, Emily's fate will be dfferent.
When Jason, the firefighter, saves Keila he knows there is something special about her but he has no idea how different. He determined to break downs her walls and make her his.
Keila just wants a one night but does she? Jason is in her life to stay but are they really ready for each other and the fight that is coming? Cant wait for the next book..........

Keila and Jason's story takes you into the next step of the series of keeping them all alive. With having to consistantly keep moving and running, Keila finally tracks Emily but in the process Jason seems to keep "getting in the way". Even with Keila's constant battle of keeping Jason at arms length or keeping him to herself, they manage to figure things out to stay safe and really fall for each other.

Loved this book! Jamie is a fantastic writer and draws you into the story. In this book you got to hear Keila's story and what she has gone through. Can't wait to see how the story continues with Payton and hopefully get some more background on the mysterious organization that is hunting the girls.

Suspense is generally good. Good characters and dialogue. However, author jumps from point to point and sometimes the connection in thought process is too adrupt. Fast read and I enjoyed it but it wasn't a great read. Potential is definitely there and I will most likely keep reading to find out what happens.

I never saw that coming!
Wow! I certainly never saw that coming! The first book was almost light reading compared to this one. It was so intense and drew me right into trying to figure out what exactly was going on. The conspiracy continues on in the next book and I can't wait to get some answers.
