Can someone tell me what is the point of apologies once everything is said and done?

Is it really better to seek apology than to seek forgiveness?

This guy has invaded the h’s privacy not because he needed to, though he did try to pass it on as that, but simply because he could. Not only did he offer a non-apology he almost try to gaslight the h and try to make it sound like her fault as she didn’t open up. She called him out on EVERY. SINGLE. COUNT.

So what? Because he said he’d not do it in the future it makes it ok and we’re supposed to believe it? he already HAS the information he seemed. He CANNOT un-know that. So how is it forgivable? He isn’t put in a situation in the future where all these memories are robbed off by amnesia and he patiently let’s h fill the blanks in, so why do we trust him?

What entails making up for it?

Resisting Fate (Happy Endings Book Club, #7) by Kylie Gilmore
I've got a pocketful of sunshine and it only took a skillful author and a bit of holiday heart to chase away the chill. Like only she can, Kylie Gilmore turned on the charm. Resisting Fate takes it cues from serendipity and casts a spell on the heart of every romantic it touches. Missy and Ben don't know what's missing until fate steps in and gives them a hand. Love at first sight is no fantasy. Like the greatest of love affairs, it comes naturally.

Well then boys, what is there to say about this one? I had a good time as a whole, though most of the things near the end left me wanting something...idk, more? Better? I thought the main leads were entertaining, I really loved their chemistry and just their dynamic in general. The whole sexual harassment thing felt wholly unnecessary and made me extremely uncomfortable at some points. However, for the sake of my own sanity, I’ve chosen to just ignore it.

The problem with these kind of series is that they’re always trying to set up the next book, the next couple. Whenever the friend groups were together, it no longer felt like it’s own book. The lead would barely get a word in while the situations of other characters were just being explained and set up. I wasn’t a big fan of this. Especially considering that weak epilogue. Barely any of it was dedicated to the main couple.

Speaking of the epilogue, they really went and did the whole “we’ve only really been together like 2 days but you’re the love of my life, let’s get married” NO SIR. I HATE THAT. Do these authors understand how relationships work???

Overall, I had quite a good time with this one. It was a nice bit of fun. I’m glad I found something I could stand to read :p

Resisting Fate is such a fitting title for this book! This is Missy and Ben's book, and what a fantastic story they had to tell.

Missy Higgins will take everything on by herself before she ever allows someone, especially a man, to help her through. Past experiences have left her jaded and fiercely independent. I haven't been through what she has, but I do relate to her in the 'take everything on and don't ask for help' attitude. I connected with her instantly because we have that in common.

Missy and Ben seem to always find each other without trying. One day, they connect in a way neither expect, and suddenly, two people who aren't looking for love are finding it in ways they never thought possible. But no one wants to give in.

This book made me laugh and tear up, which is typical coming from a Kylie Gilmore book. She has a way of making us feel different things. There's always a quirky side to the story and her characters, and then there are those swoony, sweet moments that make me shed a tear or two. In the end, there's always a happy smile on my face. I loved the way Missy and Ben connected. They had a physical attraction, but when that deep rooted emotional connection kicked in, I rooted for them even more. Missy and Ben are perfect together.

You can read this as a stand alone within the series, but other characters will sweep into your head and not let you forget about them, so I suggest reading the entire series. Looking forward to more!

Resisting Fate is another wonderful story by Kylie Gilmore the seventh, in her Happy Endings Book Club series. Missy Higgins was a closed book on her past, not sharing how difficult and awful it really was for her. The only person who knew Missy’s story of what after her adopted parents died was her half-sister Lily Marino. Missy was a hard worker yet struggled trusting other people, especially men or asking others for help. It took me a while to warm up to Missy. I felt her experience with an abusive ex-husband and the man who didn’t tell her he was married to the end turned her into a harden woman who was unwilling to open her heart or believing she was worthy of being loved or treated properly by a man. Ben Wright’s longest relationship lasted two months. Flirting with Missy at a Christmas craft bazaar just as her horrible ex appears has them sharing a scorching kiss that surprises both of them at the intensity, leaving them both breathless. When Ben again appears just as Missy is getting fired he offers her a holiday job she desperately needs. Missy and Ben are starting to believe fate might be telling them something. By this time in the story I had warmed up to Missy, understanding her better and really liking how patient but frustrated Ben was with her.

Ms. Gilmore is a wonderful story teller and wrote a wonderful tale in this book. Her characters are relatable, her writing witty and sometimes downright comical. I totally enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down. I highly recommend this book to other readers and am looking forward to the next book in this series.

I give Resisting Fate by Kylie Gilmore five stars. This is book seven of the Happy Ending Book Club series and can be read as a stand alone. I would suggesting reading the whole series in order because the author wrote it in sequence order and every book in the series was great! This book was very well written and a quick read! If you like small town romances with a happy ending you will love this book.

Missy Higgins has had a lot of bad things happen in her life and even though she is young she has sworn off me. Missy believes no man is trustworthy so she tends to stay away from relationships. The problem is that fate seems to be playing tricks on her and lately the sexy Ben Wright keeps turning up at the same places she is at. She feels that a harmless flirtation is fine but when her ex shows up at the Christmas craft bazaar she makes Ben act like they are together and one Hot kiss later and she is breathless and weak in the knees and is left wanting more.

Ben Wright is a sexy male with a hear of gold that runs his own business with one of his best friends. When Ben is sent on an errand and ends up seeing Missy get fired from her holiday job, a job that she needs badly he offers her a temp job at his company. When this happens Missy starts wondering if Fate is trying to tell her something. She wants to cross the professional boundaries and give into the lust she is feeling but she is still wondering if she should let Ben in her heart.

Will fate bring them together or will they resist it and never let themselves love each other? You have to read the book to find out!

A sweet story that grabs your attention and keeps it as the author spins a tale of one ex and a fake boyfriend who blows your socks off with one kiss. When life hands you lemon you make lemonade but for Missy she just keeps getting lemons that is until Ben shows up and gives her lemon tree a shake. This is a story about learning to trust and starting over when life keeps knocking you down.

The plot is great with wonderful character and a touching story that melts your heart. Ben is just so sweet and sexy but Missy thinks he might be too good to be true. She has learn the hard way never to trust men. With Ben, it seems different but with a job offer when she needs it most mixing business with pleasure is never a good idea. She must decide if this is fate or if her feelings are something she must walk away from. Can men be trusted or are they all dogs….

Missy is very independent, I loved her wit and how her character grows leaning to do a little leaning and trusting. Ben is great character when the chips are down he is always there, he doesn’t lay his heart on the line, doesn’t believe in the happy ever after. I enjoyed their baiting each other as they fight it out. I had to chuckle and even laughed a few times. This is a witty fun story that at times is very emotional with two people who have issues they must work out. One said it is fate the other said hold your horses there big boy I am not buying it.

Is it fate or just two ships passing in the dark you be the judge. You will feel many emotions as you watch these two go round for round in this fun, loving story that will capture your heart.

Driving Me Crazy But in a Good Way

Loved this story but I got to say Ben and Missy drove me mad. But what a sweet ride. So much push and pull and secrets. Made me all frustrated and anxious to see how they were going to break through their own walls and insecurities to get together.

This series gets better and better. This book is Ben and Missy’s story. Ben is the honorary brother of the Campbells and Missy is the sister to one of the wives of the Marinos. We met Missy in Clover Park Bride. She was trying to decide if she should leave her job in Seattle and make Clover Park her new home. It all made sense. She would be close to her half-sister, Lily. Her only family. But she was so reluctant to make the move. I was so happy to read this story and see how she fairs after making the big move. She is quick witted and independent. A little too independent. I wanted to see her start leaning on those around her. That someone being Ben. Fate kept throwing them together. Ben never gave up on Missy. They both were fighting demons. Trying not to repeat past mistakes. It was nice to see what happened when they finally shared their pasts and worked toward their Happy ending. See what I did there. (smirk)

I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review!

Missy has an awful past marriage and relationship, and Ben is just at the right place at the right time to help her "forget" about that for a minute...thanks to a little "fate".

When her drug addict ex steals the money they raised to help a family who escaped from a bad relationship, she feels responsible and takes a second job to raise the money again. However, Ben keeps showing up at the worst possible times...is it "fate"?

Missy is in a bind when Ben offers her a temporary job at his and his brother, Logan's, company. He is hesitant to offer it to her because of a past sexual harrassment accusation (that she doesn't know about), but after a difficult promise to keep it strictly professional she accepts. Missy has hidden her past from Ben and shuts down any attempt he gives on trying to know her. Thankfully, Logan realizes what is going on and helps move things along with them.

This is a fun, sweet, small town romance story that will pull your heartstrings and break your heart and then fill it again! I really enjoy the Happy Endings series by Kylie!

New. Favorite. Kylie book.

This was MY book. I loved absolutely EVERYTHING.

Ben was my kind of guy. He made no apologies for being who he was, and wasn't exactly looking for a relationship, but he didn't really fight it when it was glaringly obvious that one landed in his lap.

Or on his sweater, as it were.

I read about Missy in previous books, and I was SO happy that she would have her own story. She had been through some craziness, but it was just another sign pointing straight at Ben.

This is actually tied for my favorite Kylie book, Kissing Santa, but trust me when I say that both have perfect men, strong women and hilarious matchmakers bringing everything together.

Have I mentioned that I'm DYING to read Hailey and Josh's story? Start at book 1, people. You'll meet both of them and then follow their story as it slowly and deliciously unfolds throughout the series. Can't. Wait. !!!

(I received a copy of this book in consideration of my honest thoughts)

Fate. How many times do we fight it, cuss it or thank it for everything in our lives - good & bad? Ben wasn't looking for a relationship but when he kept running into Missy, he decided to embrace it & have some fun. When she decides to use him as a decoy for her ex, neither Ben or Missy were prepared for the sparks & intensity. When Missy finds herself in a predicament that isn't her fault, Ben tries to help her find a way out of it. Their attraction grows stronger with every minute they spend together.

Kylie Gilmore has given her readers an unlikely couple brought together by fate, attraction and a couple of meddling matchmakers. While the book is mainly a sweet romance, it has an undercurrent of humor running throughout. The tempo is flirty, witty& fun. I really enjoyed this book & feel its a good addition to the Happy Ends Book Club series.

Missy and Ben's story is here!! Missy has been through so much at the hands of her ex...and the man won't leave her alone. Missy finds herself becoming a strong and independent woman, not wanting to rely on anyone or ask for help. As she and Ben keep running into each other, he calls it fate, she says it is just bound to happen in a small town. When Missy's ex once again causes chaos in her life, Ben wants to help but Missy is determined to handle things on her own. As they spend more time together, their attraction grows and the two begin to overcome their insecurities, pasts and give their attraction a chance. Another great book by Kylie Gilmore. I definitely recommend this book and for that matter, the whole Happy Endings Book Club series as characters from other books make cameos in each book.

The Happy Endings Book Club series is getting ready for the Christmas holidays and there’s a matchmaker on duty to make sure it’s a holiday surrounded with love for two very special people. Missy Higgins has learned the hard way that life is tough and she can only count on herself in this world. She’s been abandoned and abused and she’s never going to let a sweet talking man take advantage of her ever again. But sexy flirt, Ben Wright sees a kindred spirit in Missy and though she’s only interested in sex with no strings, he’s bound and determined to help her, no matter how long it takes. Sometimes light hearted and often heart breaking, this is a wonderful storyline filled with the former characters we’ve come to know and love in this delightful Connecticut town. I read an early copy of this book and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

So hard to express how much I loved this quirky, funny and loving story. It has everything you could want, emotional highs and lows, intriguing charters, beautiful setting and an undeniable attraction.

Missy Higgins is sassy, smart and so not looking for a man to complete her life. Not after her past experience with men soured her outlook on love. Yet it seems that fate keeps bring Ben Wright into her life and the sparks just wont stop flying. Ben is sexy, charming and a unrepentant flirt with a not so rosy outlook on forever love either. He keeps his encounters light and fun never risking his heart for a reason. These two have so much in common they could be the same person.. almost.. Loved every emotional twist and turn.

I can not say enough good about this book, this series, and this author!

I was so excited to read Missy and Ben's story. Both have a past that has them individually gun shy of any kind of permanent relationship but Missy is not only determined to be independent and take care of herself she is keeping secrets that are hurting any chance at a future with the man that is growing to love her. Will Missy finally realize she needs to open herself up to letting Ben in so love can blossom or will her past show up to destroy any chance for their future?

Such a sweet book and a wonderful lesson as Missy learns to trust again and Ben learns that sometimes a man shows his strength by letting his woman be strong.

I love Kylie Gilmore's Happy Endings Book Club Series and Resisting Fate is a witty emotional story. Missy Higgens and Ben Wright brought together by fate or ?. This book is very funny especially the when Ben is sent in by his grandma to buy his Christmas sweater and when Missy is an elf at the mall. It becomes very emotional when the book deals fostercare and spousal abuse. Missy has keep quiet about her past and has resolved to depend only herself and Ben's need to be the hero and to help Missy.
I love how Kylie Gilmore writes Missy and Ben's story it is witty, sincere, romantic and very emotional. I highly recommend reading Resisting Fate you will laugh and cry. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Wow my mind is totally blown away on this book!! Each book I think that Kylie Gilmore could not possibly write a more perfect book, she blows me away with another Happy Ending!! You will love strong, giving Missy Higgins who by fate keeps running into handsome Ben Wright. They finally decide to have one night. When they finally give in to all the chemistry, look out...you can feel the heat pouring off of them. These two have some obstacles but they never give up on each other! Don't hesitate to buy this book or start at the beginning and enjoy this fantastic series!! You will not be disappointed!

Witty romance with a little help from fate, some faking, and some off-limits mixed in

Resisting Fate is a great addition to this series with a couple who need a little hand from fate to push them together and realise that love can be found when you least expect it. True to style, this dual perspective book is full of humour, emotion, and heartwarming characters to make it an enjoyable standalone read. Missy is a strong spitfire character while Ben is yet another one of Kylie Gilmore’s charming guys who is both strong but with his own insecurities. This book has a little of everything from faking it to off-limits which all result in one fun read that I definitely would recommend.

So much gooey goodness with this story.
Missy and Ben were destined to be together. Fate said so, and made it so. There might have a been a little extra help, but this is one story that pulls harder on the heart strings.
Missy can’t trust herself around Ben. He makes her feel like she wants more than she can have. With her past coming back to bite her in the behind, she feels she can’t take that chance at love again.
Ben knows Missy is distant for a reason, and he wants to know what that is so he can be with her. He just needs to use Fate to his advantage to get her to open up.
Ah, such a lovely story.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Resisting Fate is Kylie Gilmore’s seventh book in her Happy Endings Book Club series. Once again, Ms Gilmore has written a fun filled, story that had me laughing out loud often as I was reading. I enjoyed Missy and Ben’s story and loved having some of the cast of characters from previous books in the Happy Endings series, as well as other characters from her Clover Park books make appearances. If you’re familiar with this series, it was fun to see more Hailey and Josh teasers peppered through out the book. I am looking forward to the next installment in the series.

Missy and Ben have similar backgrounds and have fought for their happiness. Missy decided, after her abusive ex, all men are worthless and she would never be in a relationship again because it was not worth the pain. She is beyond stubborn and is indignant if anyone would dare help her. Ben is against marriage but for different reasons, loving is too emotionally difficult. But something about Missy won't let him forget her, and he wants to know her better. Great to catch up with the other couples. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Ben and Missy

What started as a one nighter found them wanting more. But neither knew how to get around the first agreement. After Missy was fired from her second job Ben hired her to replace their Admin who had taken time off to visit first grandchild. Ben hated hiring her because he couldn't date her as he would like. But she needed the job. He spent the time trying to learn more about her. His partner let her go a couple days early paving Ben's way for a happy ever after pending Grandma 's approval.
Enjoyed the ride from fate to happy ever after.

Resisting Fate was one emotional book about trust and allowing someone in as pulling back to let someone be themselves. Ben and Missy story was cute banter with hidden truths of past incidents that they feel defined their future happiness. Kylie did very well with this storyline hitting on battery, assault and real life events that are in the news today. This story may trigger some thing for many people so just keep in mind, Not all is judged by things they can’t control.

Resisting Fate, the 7th book in the Happy Endings Book Club series, is another 5 star read. Missy Higgins and Ben Wright get a chance at love in this fun filled romance. After running into each other over and over, they have to both start wondering if it is fate that keeps bringing them together. When Missy starts working for Ben, they can't deny their attraction any more.

Ben is convinced that fate has brought him and Missy together. They keep running into each other and they have good chemistry. But Missy has an ex with a grudge and he thinks she owes him. He is her dirty little secret and she doesn’t want anyone to know what she went through. Ben finds out and of course she gets mad and dumps him. Only to find that they really are better together. Love this series!!! Next please!

A great heartwarming read!
There's something about how Kylie Gilmore writes that draws you into her books. I feel like I'm right there experiencing everything. I loved it for that exact reason!

Resisting Fate is a heartwarming story about Ben and Missy who keep getting thrown together. This book has it all: hot romance, lots of laughter, a little drama, some emotional denial, and tons of swoon worthy moments. I definitely recommend this book and would read it again.

I am a huge Kylie Gilmore fan, and I was so happy to get to read and ARC of Resisting Fate. Ben and Missy keep running into each other in unexpected places, and their attraction is undeniable, but they are both commitment phobic, and are relationship resist. But with the help of an interfering grandma, and fate, their one night only turns into so much more! Definitely don't want to miss it.
