The long-awaited sequel to my 1993 best-selling paperback novel Witches is finally HERE! Yes, witches exist…the good and the bad ones…and one day the two ancient adversaries of good and evil will join the fight for control of the world. Amanda has been told her ten year old witch-child, Lizzy, is fated to someday become one of the planet’s most powerful witches. If she lives. If the world survives. Because the world is being threatened by an anti-Christ called Reuben who is prophesied to bring the end of the world by destroying everyone and everything good–including the white witches and warlocks of the world–unless he can be stopped. The Guardians, a secret society of those white wiccans who protect others of their kind and the world from great evil, along with the powerful good witch, Amanda Givens, and her gifted daughter, Lizzy, must battle Reuben and his demonic followers. They must somehow change the outcome of the prophesied end times, aid a possible child of God, help the earth’s people to resist the black witches, demons and the soulless, which the times have brought forth and who are trying to bring hell to earth. Good and evil will be brought together for the final battles. Will Amanda, Lizzy, and the Guardians defeat evil or will it defeat them as they fight with all their strength and powers to save the people, the lives and the world they love. Who will win?
About Kathryn Meyer Griffith 2023 Since childhood I’ve been an artist, and have worked as a graphic designer in the corporate world and for newspapers for twenty-three years before I quit to write full time. But I’d already begun writing novels at 21, over fifty-one years ago now, and have had thirty-five (romantic horror, horror novels, romantic SF horror, romantic suspense, romantic time travel, historical romance, thrillers, one non-fiction short story collection, dinosaur books, and murder mysteries) previous novels and thirteen short stories published from various traditional publishers since 1984. But I’ve gone into self-publishing in a big way since 2012; and upon getting all my previous books’ full rights back for the first time in 36 years, have self-published all of them. My seven Dinosaur Lake novels and Spookie Town Murder Mysteries (Scraps of Paper, All Things Slip Away, Ghosts Beneath Us, Witches Among Us, What Lies Beneath the Graves, All Those Who Came Before, When the Fireflies Returned, and Echoes of Other Times) are my best-sellers. I was married to Russell for over forty-three years; have a son, two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. I live in a small quaint town in Illinois. I have a quirky cat, Sasha, and we live happily in an old house in the heart of town. Though I’ve been an artist, and a folk/classic rock singer in my youth with my late brother Jim, writing has always been my greatest passion, my butterfly stage, and I’ll probably write stories until the day I die…or until my memory goes. 2012 EPIC EBOOK AWARDS *Finalist* for her horror novel The Last Vampire ~ 2014 EPIC EBOOK AWARDS * Finalist * for her thriller novel Dinosaur Lake.

Sometimes an author does everything right and gives you a sequel that’s every bit as good as the first book. Kathryn does this often. I’ve read several different series’ and always come away thinking how wonderful that next book was, and the next…
In the world of witches you ever know what to expect. Things are going swimmingly, and then they aren’t. It’s going to take all of the white witches and the Guardians to stop the evil that’s coming to destroy life as they know it. Amanda is especially worried as her young daughter, Lizzie, is foretold to become the most powerful white witch in the world. Something evil wants to destroy her before she comes into her power.
The battle is coming, and no one is safe. Just a warning. Kathryn doesn’t shy away from killing her character;s so be ready for the suspense.
Witches II is packed with action, adventure, nail biting suspense and bit of horror. You’ll laugh with and fear for the characters you care about. And you’ll loathe those that mean them harm.
Another slam dunk from Kathryn. I hope she continues with this series as I can’t see it ever getting old for me.
And a heads up. You can read this without having read the first book. But I recommend you read Witches first. You won’t want to miss out on the fun.
I received a complimentary copy. My review is voluntarily given.
I do not want to spoil the fun, though I took a lot of notes, I discarded most of them, because this is Book II.
I loved Amanda’s belief that trees could tell the past…and sometimes the future. Amanda is a white witch and a Guardian. When she talks of poofing in and out, it made me think of Charmed, the TV show, and orbing. Because I became familiar to the supernatural world through Charmed and Supernatural, it enabled me to visualize so much of the story almost making it seem real.
The characters have one foot in the real world and the other in the supernatural world. Talk about having a tough life.
A feeling of something terrible coming and not all my friends will make it out alive hovers over the pages. Kathryn makes me fall in love with her characters…then she kills them off, so be forewarned.
“You look like a black smurf.” Amanda tells her sister, Rebecca, who is dressed all in black.
“And you, Amanda darling, look like the good witch Glinda from the Wizard of Oz in that cream colored outfit.” They chitchat as they get ready for ‘the party.’
The last time she’d followed her sister into a crowd of witches, she’d ended up drinking a little too much and flying races on fake broomsticks. I can picture it with the great writing that takes me to that special place I love to dwell.
Kathryn Meyer Griffith has a way with words, bringing her characters and their world to life in vivid detail. WOW! Loaded with action, suspense, creativity, world building, and character development that had me eating it up.
It may be possible for Witches II to stand alone, but I would definitely recommend starting at the beginning. The story is told, but could there be a Witches III?
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Witches II by Kathryn Meyer Griffith.
What a great follow up to Witches! I loved the first book so much so I couldn’t wait to see what Amanda was up to and learn about Lizzie. Witches 11 did not disappoint. I love the new characters and seeing where everyone else is 10 years later. I especially love Armadas in this book. He’s personality really came through. The story is very well written, the characters are well developed and real. I loved the ending and I am hopeful for book 3
Witches II: Apocalypse is the sequel to the Witches, a 1993 paperback novel by Kathryn Meyer Griffith. Like a potion created by White Withes, Witches II is an excellent read and well blend mixtures of genres for everyone (romance, suspense, thriller/horror, and sci-fi). The vivid descriptions of the characters and the captivating storyline will leave you spellbound. In Witches II, the readers are reintroduced to Amanda Givens, ten years after the novel Witches have ended. Amanda is now a proud member of the Guardian, a single mother to Elizabeth (Lizzie), a prophesized powerful witch, and co-owner of a gift shop with her friend, Jane. The world is on the brink of existence, the Devil is more powerful than ever, and White Witches are dying in large numbers. To help the Guardians in the battle between good and evil, Amanda must trust the advice of two Black Witches and leave Lizzie behind to fulfill her destiny.
I enjoyed this book.It started with a wonderfully named witch,Deidre, who dies almost immediately.lol That leads us into where our witches are now,10 years after the first book. There is a major change coming,Lizzy,Amanda's daughter will play a big part in this. I felt there was a different vibe to this. book compared to book 1.I also felt that narration was sometimes better than at others.Nila Brereton is a good narrator for the most part.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
My review is based on the audiobook. I did not read the first book but after listening to Book 2 I am intrugued enough to wnat to go back and read from the beginning. That being said I really enjoyed the story told in book 2. The characters were well developed and magic was placed nicely through out the story. The narrator was fantastic bringing the story and characters to life with perfect pacing. I look forward to more from this author & narrator.
I WAS WRONG! I previously wrote a somewhat negative review of this book. I decided to give it another read recently. I changed my mind. This is a pretty good book. There are some differences in cadence between this one and the first one as previously mentioned, but I decided I am okay with that. It doesn't detract from the quality as much as I previously opined. The old characters have grown and the new ones are interesting. I apologize for my previous review and have taken it down.
