Hawke Family #3

Stone Sober

Rate this book
Stone Hawke is precisely the kind of man women are warned about—handsome, intelligent, arrogant, and intricately entangled with some dangerous people. I should stay away, but he manages to strip my soul bare with just a look and dominates my thoughts. Bad decisions are in my past. My life is (mostly) on track, even if it is no longer the one to medical school. I can’t allow myself to cave to the fierce pull and ardent attraction I feel toward the youngest Hawke.

Nora Eriksson is off-limits, and not just because she’s my brother’s employee and sister-in-law. Despite the fact she’s stripping at The Hawkeye Club, she has an innocent and pure heart. Normally, the only thing that appeals to me about innocence is the opportunity to taint it. But not when it comes to Nora. I can’t expose her to the filth permeating my life. There are too many things I can’t control, things completely out of my hands. She doesn’t deserve any of it, but the power she holds over me is stronger than any addiction.

The hardest battles we fight are often with ourselves, but only through defeating our own demons can we find true peace.

Stone Sober was a good, interesting and seriously hot read.

We have met the main characters in the previous books but only now we will get to know their secrets and their unique personal taste.
I liked Nora and Stone relationship,I've struggled along with them when they had to refrain themselves to act on their physical attraction but mostly I got the hots during their sexual encounters.

After few chapters I realized that with Stone Hawke I was out of my comfort zone but I knew that Gwyn McNamee couldn't do wrong and I kept reading and I fell in love with this couple.

I suggest you to start this series from book number one and let you surrender yourself with the beauty of this author's words.

Another engrossing page turner from Gwyn McNamee. This was the third book in the Hawke family series and it was amazing.

Stone was definitely a very flawed leading man and his flaws were very different then Savage or Gabe in their stories before this. But those different flaws made his journey throughout the story that much more enjoyable for me. I ended up loving him just as much as Savage and Gabe and I wasn't sure at first if I would.

Nora was everything and yet nothing like I expected. She was this great contrast of sweet and spice. So unaware of what she was getting into and the possibilities that Stone presented but so open to new experiences. She's a pre-med stripper who makes the always in control lawyer lose that control easily.

This story was sexy, engaging, kind of suspenseful, and sometimes sad. But in the end, it was just fantastic. I am going to be looking out for the next book and very much looking forward to it.

Stone Sober by Gwyn McNamee a sublime five-star read. This is the third book in the Hawke family series and I would recommend you read the books in order Savage Collision first, then Tortured Skye and then Stone Sober each book tells us the story of another member of the Hawke family and this is the turn of Stone Hawke and his personal battles. Stone is a man whom I would normally go for in a heartbeat, a bad boy who is handsome, intelligent and arrogant and comes with a list of bad habits as long as his arms. He sounds like the perfect man for me. The only thing is I’m not the only one who thinks so, Nora Eriksson is also a fan, but she shouldn’t be as everyone has warned her about him and he’s practically family. But Nora has her own battles to fight? Will they be able to fight together or are the stronger apart?
Gwen McNamee is a great author and the whole series is amazing, Savage Collision blew me away and Tortured Skye broke me, this one has put me back together and I can’t wait for Building Storm I am looking forward to being broken all over again. Gwen has a talent that will surprise and astound you, her writing is great and will compel you to keep reading every page until there are no more to read.

Stone Sober is book three in the Hawke Family series by Gwyn McNamee. This story centres around Storm and Nora. Can i just say the names of these characters get my heart racing just reading them. The guys names are so manly and fitting for each character so far, it just is simply unleashed talent and delivery of amazing stories. It just impresses me beyond measure.

Stone just wormed his way into my thoughts and heart and left his own unique little mark. I don't know whether it is because i feel he had the most pressure put on him, more so self inflicted, or whether he always felt he had something to prove, but he just dragged those caring emotions out of me more than any other character. Nora was not supposed to get under his skin like she did, but cupid had other ideas. Nothing can stop true love and theirs was destiny. But they had to fight for it, and their struggle for happiness will be an ongoing one. Nora does what she has to do and her innocence is endearing and brings out every protective instinct i have. She is a character that makes you want to tuck her under your wing and shelter her from any deluge.

Gwyn McNamee provided another twisting, intriguing and unputdownable story. Their rare and deadly story was unforgettable and hard to match. A pleasure to get to know was this cast, and getting to know more is a real addiction for me. 5 stars.

Ahhhh, the feels! I love this family. AND that cover. I mean, wow.

Stone Sober by Gwyn McNamee is book three in the Hawke Family series. I don’t recommend reading them as stand alones. It’s told in both points of view with a happy ending.

With each book and each couple, I get that feeling of, oh, this is the best one, this is my fave. And it happened again. As of this moment, this is my favorite couple and story.

Stone is kind of a mess. The only place he seems to have it all figured out is in the bedroom, and man does he know what he’s doing there. He’s mixed up with some bad people though.

Nora is the smartest, most innocent stripper you could meet. She’s still trying to find her place in life. She’s sweet and cute and I just liked her character.

These two can’t fight the pull they have towards each other, no matter what. And there’s so much else going on. This book is DRAMATIC, action packed, full of secrets that can tear people apart. It was so interesting! Gwyn has a way of pulling you in. It’s so clear, like she opened a door to their world and family so you can watch it unfold.

Oh and the end? Yeah, I cried. A lot.

5 RED HOT STARS

Stone Sober is the highly anticipated third book in the Hawke Family series by author extraordinaire, Gwyn McNamee. I really am at a loss for words to do this story the justice it deserves and relay just how fantastic this story is. I almost inhaled this book, I was so engrossed in the story. I laughed, I cried, I cursed Ms. McNamee (sorry, but I was in a heightened state of anxiety from what I was reading)- I swear my heart stopped on several occasions and I spent a good portion of the time picking my jaw up off the ground- I was trying to anticipate what was going to happen, but Ms. McNamee deftly manoeuvred the plot in such a way as to make the story quite unpredictable. I am not going to rehash the plot to you, Ms. McNamee does a far better job of that in the blurb- but I will tell you how her story made me feel and how much I love it, and the whole series so far.
I don’t know how she does it, but each new book slightly eclipses the last- every story is a credit to her and the series as a whole. There are very few series that I have read and can honestly say that EVERY single instalment deserves more than the maximum five stars I am allowed to allocate them. If I could award more stars, I would- that’s how much I love this book/series!
I fell in love with Savage in book one, then had my heart stolen by Gabe in book two- then this book comes along and Stone branded himself so deeply into my heart- so I can’t/won’t choose between them all- at this point I am more than happy to be labelled a Hawke Family groupie. Dani, Skye and now Nora, are such worthy leading ladies- well matched to their men, and impressive in their own right.
I loved Stone’s bad boy, dirty talking, and dark(ish) sexual tastes- it certainly made for some volcanically HOT reading- I recommend placing several pairs of panties in the freezer before reading this book, because you will definitely need to cool down(under) while reading this.
As this book is part of a series, I suggest reading all the books in the correct order, because there is background information/backstories found in the other books that come to a head in this story- so having all that information will add to your reading pleasure. I highly recommend this book, series and author- as you are sure to become as addicted to this series as I am. This book should be on everyone’s ‘must read’ list!
I am not sure I can manage to wait for the next book to release, I kind of NEED it NOW!!! ‘Building Storm’ is certain to be another mind-blowing read!

Thank you, Ms. McNamee!

I was completely blown away with Stone Sober. I have been a fan of Gwyn’s work since the first page of Savage Collision, and Stone Sober just reconfirms that. This is the third book in The Hawke Series!
Stone Hawke, the youngest of the Hawke kids, is a fresh lawyer out in California, but soon moves back to NOLA to work for a man he considers to be like a father. Nora, Dani’s (from Savage Collision) younger sister, works as a stripper in Savage Hawke’s (Savage Collision) club, The Hawkeye. Stone knows that he is no good, but he can’t seem to stay away from Nora. Just as things to start to take a turn in the right direction for these two unexpected things come out into the open that will jeopardize everything.

Stone Sober is beyond amazing and is my favorite book in the Hawke Series. Stone’s life wasn’t an easy one from early on, starting with his father dying when he was 5. Stone comes off as a jerk and an asshole from the beginning, but underneath all that he was someone that you fall head over heals in love with. This was not a book that I was able to put down. There were many times during the book that my heart was racing and there was so much anxiety over what was going to happen next. The sex scenes in the book were HOT!!! I won’t lie, I had to use google for some of the scenes, so that I could visualize what was going on. THE MEAT HOOK OR LUCIFER HOOK!! JUST SO HOT!!!

You seriously don’t want to miss out on reading this book. Even though it can be read as a standalone, you would totally understand it more if you start at the beginning with Savage Collision.

**Fair warning, this book will make you laugh, cry and want to throw your Kindle!**

Stone Sober is book 3 in Gwyn McNamee's Hawke Family series. While these characters stand alone, I highly recommend reading books 1 & 2, before reading this book as they are interconnected & reading out of order will provide spoilers for the previous books.

Stone Hawke is the man your Mom, Sister AND Best Friend warned you about. Nora Eriksson is sweet & sassy, yet innocent...she also just happens to be one of the hottest strippers at her brother-in-law's (who also happens to be Stone's brother) club.

Events in both of their pasts have placed them on career paths that most members of their families don't approve of. Luckily Stone & Nora each see in the other what they can't see in themselves.

Stone knows he shouldn't want Nora, but it's getting harder & harder to fight his feelings for her. Can he have her while protecting her from himself & the "bad" in his life?

I can't tell you more without giving you spoilers, but what follows is a roller coaster ride with twists (I so did not see that coming) & turns, laughs & tears, and some really hot love scenes!

Gwyn does not disappoint...For me, this was definitely the hottest Hawke book yet!

“She’s a pristine diamond-shiny and new and full of hope despite her current job- and I’m a dirty damaged, dangerous rabid dog ready to bite. I would chew her up and spit her out and leave her broken without so much as a glance back. I can’t do that to her, no matter how attracted to her I am.” ~ Stone Hawke

Can we say mmmmmm good God that was one hell of a hot read??? Pretty sure that’s all Amazon will let us say- insert eyeroll here. Good lord, Gwen McNamee, you did it again, and each time I finish a Hawke family novel I say to myself, there is no way she can top this again, this was by far the sexiest, hottest stuff I have read, and it was so full of all the good substance too! What will she come up with next? Then I count down the time until there’s word that we will be graced with more and I get so giddy yet some trepidations. But no, never, you never let a girl down.

I want to tell you about this book but the problem is beyond a brief little diddy I just feel a disservice to the author and this amazing book and to you as a reader. You have to read this book, and you have to read them in order. I repeat in order. This is a family affair. Start with the big boss man in Savage Collision Book #1, then read on with Tortured Skye #2 and learn about Skye and Gabe, then you will truly appreciate what happens in Stone Sober. I promise things will not make sense if you don’t read them in order. Big names will be tossed around and you will have no idea what they mean. It is a family deal. With that said I will give you the gist and let you go run and at least one-click on your kindles. I promise it is worth every moment of your time and money and you will want to start saving for those hardcopies to pretty up the bookshelves if you are a true book nerd like me. I know I am.

So, like I said this book is part three basically and focuses on Stone Hawke and Nora Eriksson. They are the forefront members of the family for this installment. These two each have their own battles that they are dealing with. Both internally and worldly. The worldly ones are the giveaways I just don’t want to divulge you should read those. Internally, I will hint at a bit, because it leads them to each other the most I think as far as romantically on a level that maybe will get them further than they even can see. And that my lord is so sweet.

See, Stone is not a good man. He knows he isn’t, and he doesn’t really even try to hide it. He is the odd brother out and lives away from the family for a reason. The part though that gets you is there is something in him that yearns to be better. Something screaming to be called to the surface and let out. And I think that is our Nora.

“I much prefer waiting in the shadows and lusting after her in private.”

“Maybe in another world, another life, another time, things could be different.”

You can tell he has this soft side and this is just the beginning of the book so imagine what’s to come??

Then we have our sweet innocent and naiveté Nora. She has something going on. Something, that is holding her back, a fear of being tied down and stuck. Dancing is her only time she feels free. It isn’t like she wants it forever, but she just can’t think about forever. To her forever is too much to even contemplate without having a small panic.

“Right now, I just want to enjoy the freedom that dancing gives me- freedom from the stress of school. Freedom from having to think about what I did and why I left, freedom to just be, well, free.”

“Dani found her happily ever after, and I’m thrilled for her. But I never want anything to tie me down again- not school, not a job, not a person, not life.”

And with that I will leave you with one more quote, one of my favorite twists, yet it won’t give too much away… 😉

“A literal angel brought into my life only to be ripped away by this joke of fate.”

Ugh!! I think I have to go re-read this again already! Thank you Gwen McNamee! Thank You! You deserve all the stars!! Book of the Year for me!!

Stone Sober is book 3 in the Hawke Family Series, by Gwyn McNamee and can be read as a standalone, but is so much better enjoyed if read a part of this phenomenal series!
This is my third book by this author but I didn’t think Gwyn McNamee keep getting better and better with her books, she continually to make you completely utterly captivated and entranced with her reads I didn’t think she could beat the pervious two books in this series but she keeps proving me wrong!
I was utterly captivated and drawn into the story and the incredible characters.

This book once again has it all. It has romance, hot & sexy moments, suspense, action, danger, twists and turns, ups and downs heart stopping moments. You are constantly guessing and never expecting what may happen next, you were put on the edge of your seat. I’ve had all the emotions again while reading this book I’ve laughed, I’ve smiled, my hearts broke, I’ve been shocked and hot under the collar. This book has truly hooked me. Our characters face some traumatic things in their past, and because of this it effects the way they are living now, but I never expected Stone to be in such a dark place. But I’m glad that we got Stone’s story, he remains a mystery to all through books 1 & 2, but after reading this you can totally understand why. One shocker was the side to him I never expected and them scenes were sexy, passionate and a sizzling connection between two individuals who always denied themselves love due to events in their lives and the way they live their lives now, they knew that having love or a relationship really wouldn’t fit. I fell in love with both characters, and was continually routing for them throughout, they have some ups and downs but there was something between the two of the from the get go, even from the shadows you could tell that Stone couldn’t hide his feeling and desires and also Nora could feel the connection they had brewing and simmering under the surface that even she couldn’t deny. But with their connection growing it really made me believe that they were meant to meet and be together and that when they did nothing would stand in their way, and they would fight for each other.

Gwyn McNamee has written this with so much feelings, rawness and emotions with a great story plot you can’t help but get sucked in. Not only do we get some amazing main characters in this book but the Secondary characters are just as brilliant. Another brilliant thing with this book getting to hear more from Savage and Danika’s story and Gabe and Skye. These events that occur in this book really open up the story for further things to develop and I can’t wait to see what happens.

Along with our main characters there was some great secondary characters that help tell this story and make it even more brilliant. I can’t wait to see who’s story we read in the upcoming books of these series.
I’m also glad this author wrote this book in dual POV’s as we got to really understand our characters and what they were really thinking and feeling at certain situations in the book.

These two characters make the biggest change in their lives through this book, and I’m so glad I was reading this to see the change happen. They deserve to be with each other and help fight each other’s demons that keep rearing their head, and to face their pain and loss together.

I can’t wait to see where but to also start a new obsession with another member of the Hawke family! But until them I’ll be eagerly awaiting Book 4 in the Hawke Family Series.

Before I dive into my review, I want to mention how important it is to read these books in order. The storyline progresses with each book, featuring different main characters. One thing I’m enjoying about this series is getting to know each of the Hawke Family members and their dynamics. Stone Sober is the third installment in Gwyn McNamee’s Billionaires in New Orleans: Hawke Family series. In comparison to the first two books, Gwyn McNamee has definitely increased the spice level in Stone Hawke’s story. You might need a cold shower after reading this book!

I loved reading about the forbidden love between these two characters and how they ultimately gave in to their feelings. Stone, a member of the Hawke family, may initially come across as arrogant and dangerous, and that leads him to be that way in the bedroom, too, but he knows the importance of consent and taking care of someone afterward. Gwyn McNamee clearly did her research on Stone’s character and what he enjoys, allowing readers to delve into this side of him. While it made Nora a bit wary at first, she instinctively knew that he would take care of her, which is why she couldn’t stay away from him.

In my opinion, Nora was a strong heroine, and it bothered me that everyone, including her sister, questioned her motives for giving up her degree. It was clear that dancing made her happy, and the truth behind her decision to abandon her studies is revealed in this book. I can understand why she chose to change her life after what happened.

There was no doubt in my mind that Stone and Nora were meant to be together, even though they believed their romance was forbidden. They complemented each other perfectly, not only through their Dom/Sub dynamic but also in how they supported each other with their struggles. If only Stone hadn’t kept that secret from Nora, thinking it was for the best. He should have known that the person who told him the secret didn’t have his best interests at heart.

There is a lot to absorb while reading this book, but I can say this: Nora and Stone will overcome everything that is thrown their way. It just takes time, especially toward the end of the book. This is also an emotional story that will bring you to tears, not only for the main characters and what they endure but also for other members of the Hawke family. I give this book four stars, and now, more than ever, I need to make time to finish this series.

Single/Dual POV: Dual POV.

Standalone or Part of Series: It’s the third book in the Billionaire of New Orleans: The Hawke Family series and these books need to be read in order.

Would I recommend this book/series? Yes. If you enjoy reading Family Saga stories with suspense and spice to them, then out this series by Gwyn McNamee.

What to Expect:
✓Billionaire Romance
✓Opposites Attract
✓Forbidden Love
✓BDSM: Dom/Sub Dynamic

Gwyn McNamee you deserve ALL the STARS!

It's not often I am at a loss for words...but I can't even. My emotions are all over. I may ramble a bit so bear with me. This is the best feeling. I thought I was prepared for Stone & Nora but let's get real - with Gwyn behind the keyboard I knew I was headed for one turbulent, deep, intricate, twisted, impeccably thought out and written journey!

I read Savage Collision and fell in love with this brilliant author because Savage and Dani are everything. Tortured Skye had my kindle melting from the luscious angsty slow burn between Gabe and Skye. Since then, I have been anxiously waiting for Stone & Nora. Absolutely dying to get my hands on their story. Well surprise, surprise! Here we are on book 3 and Stone Sober completely blew me away and left me totally wrung out in the best possible way! When I finished last night I needed someone to talk to like a support group to help me deal with my feelings! Truly only an exceptional read can accomplish this!

I was consumed by all things Stone Sober. Couldn't put it down if I tried. Right out of the gate I loved these characters. Stone definitely had his demons but that did nothing to diminish his sexy, tempting pull - at least in the beginning. Until true colors and all that. Nora is this gorgeous, sweet, wholesome girl next door type who doesn't even swear but has a body for sin. Stone can't resist the chance to watch her, flirt with her and see how he affects her. Their attraction and the build up is some of the best written, scrumptious torture ever. I absolutely love angst. These two are downright combustible.

"Tingling...electric...blazing..."

I never quoted before but seriously - yes, yes and yes! This line is just exquisite and describes this story perfectly for me. Those 3 words captivated me.

The journey these two embark on is full of lust, denial, secrets, personal struggles and loss. Can they get through and have something special together? Will their families flip out and tear them apart? Or can they let go when they think it's for the best? Hearts are on the line and so, so much more.

I love everything about this book. BUY THIS BOOK! Worth every chapter of suspense that makes you question everything and everyone. I can't gush enough about not just this book or series, but the author and her remarkable, incredible talents. She's a mastermind! Genius! A few times I wanted to cuss her out but with absolute affection, promise lol! muah!

I had the honor of reading an advanced copy and agreed to share my honest opinion.

Stone Sober: A Hawke Family Novel (The Hawke Family Book 3) by Gwyn McNamee is the third book in her The Hawke Family series. This series is not meant to be read as a standalone series. I highly suggest you read the two previous two books before this one it will help you understand and enrich this story. This has been one of my favorite series from the start. I love this author's writing style as she will pull you in from the first word and I am able to read her books in one sitting. I just can't put them down. Her twists and turns will keep you sitting on the edge of your seat and the hot, steamy situations will just leave you wanting more. Her creative details make you feel like you are right there and feeling what the characters are feeling. Her characters are connectable, lovable and true to life. They will take you on a roller coast ride of various emotions from laughter to angry. In this third installment of this series you will find Stone's story. Stone finds himself back home permanently and face to face with the one person he can't resist. She is off limits but he can't seem to control himself with her. He doesn't want to expose her to parts of his life but he can't control what happens when he is around her. Nora is Savage's sister-in-law and his employee. She knows that she should stay about from him. He is a man that all women are warned about and parts of his life are dangerous. She doesn't have the most pleasant past but she seems to have her life together until Stone. At first she tries to fight her feelings for him but she can't deny herself the attraction is there. He can't get her out of his head. What will happen with these two? Will they take what they shouldn't have? There are demons in play here, will they take over or will fate have something else in mind? I loved this couple! Stone is handsome, strong, has some attitude, just a bad boy anyone could fall in love with. She is feisty, gorgeous and not willing to relive the past. Together these two are chemistry, they just fit together. I loved that we got to see the previous characters and what they were up to. They really are just a big family with their own problems but supportive. I highly suggest you read this series and Stone's story. You don't want to miss this book!

The Hawke family sure do like conflict and drama in their relationships, with at least one of the protagonists determined NOT to be in a relationship. I'm glad that Nora and Stone gave in to their incredible chemistry because WOW did we get some very hot, steamy scenes - with a touch of BDSM thrown in.

Stone is one hot, controlling alpha male but also one hot mess underneath it all. This leads to some massive a$$hole behaviour at times and I could happily have slapped him. I did like Stone, even though he was a bit arrogant and cold at times, there was just something about him. Nora was both believable AND very likeable. She came across as strong, even when she submitted to Stone I could understand and appreciate her choices.

My biggest concern in the story is that a well trained Dom would have talked with his sub before having a scene, especially with one who is a total newbie to it all. The very fact that Nora had no idea of what soft and hard limits are, what play was on offer OR what it involved means that discussion was vital to things being safe, sane and consensual.

The other thing I felt was lacking was the building of a RELATIONSHIP. There was plenty of lust and hot sex but we didn't really have ANY non-sexual interactions between Nora and Stone. No dates, no getting-to-know-you conversations, one chat over a cup of coffee that ended in an argument, and lots of sex.

Both Nora and Stone are keeping secrets that are doing nothing for the mental well being. Nora's secret wasn't too shocking but I certainly would never have guessed it. It felt a little unfinished but then real life doesn't always tie up every loose end. I sort of guessed partly what Stone's secret was, but THAT TWIST, I didn't see that one coming! I did feel as though he got off the hook too lightly. I would have liked to see the other character(s) affected work through their feelings on this issue. Whilst I found the explanation for their acceptance reasonable, it felt a little too quick and easy.

The writing in this book is good, it certainly drew me in, along with a pace that kept me gripped. The plot developed in ways I wasn't expecting but they worked so well and made for one heck of a read.

Stone Sober: A Hawke Family Novel (The Hawke Family Book 3)
By: Gwyn McNamee
5 out of 5 stars

The story Stone Sober: A Hawke Family Novel (The Hawke Family Book 3) by Gwyn McNamee is a thrilling/suspenseful romance book. I was absolutely thrilled when I heard that the next story in the Hawke Family was being released. This is a series that I have loved since book one. This story pulled me in from the very beginning and I couldn’t put it down until I had finished the last page. I love the characters of Stone and Nora. Nora is a smart, beautiful, independent woman. She is a dancer at The Hawkeye Club. It is a mystery as to why she has chosen to do this. She is also finding herself attracted to Stone Hawke. She has been warned about him, she just can’t seem to get him out of her mind. Stone is considered a bad boy. His world is full of darkness and he is part of things that he can’t reveal to anyone. This makes him a dangerous man to be around. He feels a deep attraction to Nora, however, knows that she is forbidden, off-limits. He, however, has an addiction to seeing her that he can’t stop. Both Stone and Nora dance around their intense feelings for each other. I loved reading how Stone and Nora interact. He is drawn to her light like a moth to a flame. This couple have amazing chemistry! Will Stone and Nora find happiness together? This book has a lot of twists and turns along with situations that are full of danger. There are times when I was on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. This is a series where it is highly advised to read the books in order. There are some situations that are brought up from book to book and also the characters crossover. Reading them in order makes it so that you get the full understanding of what is going on. This is an author who writes amazing stories with amazing characters. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. This story does have mature content and would be recommended for those 18 years of age or older.

Sexy, Smoking Hot and a Must Read!!
Stone Sober: A Hawke Family Novel (THe Hawke Family Book 3) is the third book in this series and I must say it is the best yet!
Stone Hawke is a strong, good looking man, a smart man and he can be an arrogant jerk. He is a high profile attorney and works for one of the oldest law firms in the nation. But would he still have his job if the the old partners knew everything that Hawke is involved in. Stone usually likes a woman who can get down and dirty with him in the bedroom when he wants. That is why he should not have eyes on the angel of The Hawkeye Club.
Nora Eriksson is a young beautiful dancer at The Hawkeye Club. She is Stone’s brother, Savage’s, employee and Savage’s sister-in-law and that means hands off. She is so innocent and pure and that is the draw for Stone although that is not his usual type of woman. Nora is happy dancing for now, two years ago she was in pre-med but that didn’t work out. I won’t tell you why, you will have to read this to find out. Nora is attracted to Stone but I get the feeling she knows he is out of her league. He does get under her skin and she always knows he is around even if she can’t see him, she knows he is there watching. Stone can’t help feeling the way he does toward Nora but will his addiction to her bring them together or will Stone always keep his distance?
If you haven’t read Savage Collision book one, and Tortured Skye book two I would highly recommend going back and read about the Hawke family siblings. Each book is so good you won’t want to put them down!
Gwyn McNamee has done it again! This is my favorite so far. I love Stone and Nora but then I loved all the characters in all three books. Her writing weaves an emotional trail that you want to follow and stay on forever. I can’t wait to see what she has for us next!! Highly recommend for anyone over 18.

Stone Sober: A Hawke Family Novel (The Hawke Family Book 3) by Gwyn McNamee

5++++++ Stars

OMG..These book are killing me….I knew when I opened this one it was going to be an emotional one and I was so right….So much going on I don't even know where to start.

I knew when reading Books 1 & 2 that somewhere along the way Stone would get his story and I knew there had to be a lot more to him than what I was seeing previously. As unsure of him as I was it did not take long to fall head over heels for this guy. As his story unfolds everything about him starts making sense and the way he felt about Nora...sigh...He tried to do the right thing and stay away from her but he just couldn't help it. Nora is Dani’s sister and the sole reason that Dani met Savage when she did. I loved Nora...her cute ways of trying not to swear made me smile. She wasn't all innocent and pure but was definitely not the type of woman that would stir Stone normally. Dani also tried to stay away from him but the draw was too strong and watching her struggle with how much she found herself loving all that Stone was and had to offer made complete sense.

It was the rest of the story that had me all messed up...So many things that came out of left field and made my jaw drop...This had my feelings all over the place, I went from being totally angry to completely heartbroken many times and I could not predict how this one was going to end, at one point I thought omg there's not enough time for some of this to be dealt with but once again this author had everything under control and my love for her writing just gets stronger the more I read. So many things still to come and I've already got the next ready to go and can not wait to jump back in to this amazing family…

Trust me...Start from the beginning, do not read these out of order...

On to Book 4…..

Stone Sober
By Gwyn McNamee
5 outstanding stars

It’s not very often I come across an author who continually blows me away with her writing but this author does. Each one of her books has been completely and utterly outstanding. From the very first word I am completely captivated by her words, her characters and her amazing storylines.
The first time I picked up one of her books I couldn’t believe that it was her debut novel, the book was just out of this world, in fact I have read Savage Collision three times. I thought surely an author can’t continue this level of amazing work (and I mean no disrespect by that) but she has and my god she’s done it in style with Stone Sober! I can’t even find the words to say how brilliant this book was. I got my Savage and Gabe fix (woohoo) and I got introduced – and got up close and personal – to Stone Hawke! YUMMY!! 100% YUMMY! He was hot, sexy and he can dominate me any day! I loved him, almost as much as I loved his brother!
Nora was a great character, although she has appeared before this was the first time I finally got to know a bit about her. She has the feistiness of her sister, Danika, but also this other side which she keeps hidden. A side which clearly Stone knew how to get out of her! Although I’m pretty sure he could get me to do anything!
The storyline was fast paced and incredibly exciting – then there was that twist!! OMG I did not see that coming at all! Fantastic! I really cannot recommend this book and series enough – Gwyn McNamee is seriously one talented author, her books are an absolute pleasure to read and I will be eagerly anticipating her next release! It deserves far more than the 5 stars I give it! Outstanding work!

Stone Sober: A Hawke Family Novel ( The Hawke Family, Book 3 )
By Gwyn McNamee
5/5 Stars

Stone Sober : A Hawke Family novel is book three in the Hawke Family Series by Gwyn McNamee. It an action packed story from start to finish . You definitely will not be able to put this book down!! But you will want to read this series in it’s proper order. You’ll get a much better understand of the wonderful characters that way!
Oh how I LOVE the Hawke Family!! The way Gwyn writes about these characters is so fascinating! Each person is flawed to perfection... Deep, dark and full of secrets. It’s really relatable actually!!
I’m not sure why but this one is probably my favorite so far. But trust me I have love all the Hawke family members in their own way. I guess because I can relate to this character more.
Stone Hawke oozes sex appeal. He is sexy, cocky, and arrogant to a fault!! Every woman wants to be with him. And every man wishes they were him!! But he has himself tangled up is a huge mess, with people that shouldn’t even be alive.
Nora Eriksson is young, beautiful, and a little naive. She is working at The Hawkeye Club. She has her own demons she’s fighting. But she is a lot stronger than she gives herself credit for.
You have to read this amazing story to find out what happens when Nora and Stone’s path cross. It’s a crazy roller coaster of a ride , full of unexpected twists and turns. You really will not be able to put this book down. You’ll probably get so consumed with this book, you’ll forget the world around. Which is nice to do sometimes! But I happen to do it more often than not!
Thank you Gwyn for bringing these perfectly perfect flawed characters to life! I can’t wait to see where book four takes us next!! Until then…

Stone Sober by Gwyn McNamee is the third book in The Hawke Family Series and it's absolutely amazing!! I would definitely read the first two books in the series before starting this book, you could read it as a standalone, even though I would recommend starting the series from the beginning. Gwyn McNamee is one of my favorite authors; she is able to create story lines and characters that are out of this world. One thing I can always guarantee with her work, is that I honestly never know what is going to happen. This book was an amazing 5 stars!

Stone Hawke is the man everyone's Mama as warned them about, he's sexy, arrogant, and dangerous. Nora knows she should stay away from him, but Stone has the ability to turn her inside out with only one look. Nora has made of bad decisions in her life, but now she's moving on. Even though she feels this un-explainable pull towards Stone, she's not sure she should let herself fall. Nora should be considered off limits simply because she's his sister-in-law and she works at Savage's club. Stone considers Nora to be an innocent and pure, he doesn't think he can expose her to his life and his secrets. Stone finds things getting out of hand and Nora starts to have more power over him then even he realizes. Can these two work things out and find their happily ever after? Or are they doomed from the start?

Holy. Moly. If you were a fan of Savage Collision and Tortured Skye, then you do not want to miss this one! It's an amazing addition to the series and I can't wait to see what happens next!

Title: Stone Sober
Author:Gwyn McNamee
Series: Hawke Family #3

Stone Sober was a great 5 star read. I am loving this series and was excited to get Stone’s story.

Stone has been watching Nora from a distance in a dark corner whenever he can. There is something about her that draws him in, but he has to stay away.

Nora can feel him whenever he’s at the club she can’t see his face but she knows when he is there watching her dance. When she finds out who it is she is shocked. Nora gets some work at another club which throws Stone off. He needs to know where she is, when he goes to find her the poor man ends up in a not so great situation and a lot of pain. (poor guy)

When Nora goes to Stones to apologize she has a hard time resisting her attraction to him. But Stone puts a damper on things This can’t happen Famous last words, LOL
They eventually give into each other and things get very hot.

Not only do we get the romance with Nora, Stone also has issues regarding who he is working for. Things get very interesting. There are secrets and a huge unexpected twist that floored me. The secondary characters added a great element to the story. I really liked stone, he had a very dominant and protective side to him along with a little bit of arrogance. Nora was sweet but not innocent, I really liked her strength.

If your looking for a great read, 1-click and get started now. Gwyn McNamee does a great job of pulling you in with her writing and you will love it.

Stone Sober by Gwen McNamee

Stone Sober (The Hawke Family book 3) by Gwen McNamee is a great 5 star read and an excellent addition to this series. Each of these books gives another look at a member of the Hawke family and each character’s story does not disappoint. This book has action and suspense mixed with some love and very steamy moments. My only issue with this story was how I’d be reading about Dom, and all his evilness, then next referring to a Dom in a whole other context. Could Dom just have had a different name??

Stone and Nora were a great couple with a lot in common when it comes to past mistakes still haunting them and their issues when it comes to control. Both of them had their histories show back up to cause them problems, but through their connection they were able to figure out a way to understand each other’s viewpoints and motivation. This story definitely has some kink, but it was addressed in a way that those new to this theme won’t be scared off. I’d definitely recommend this series and would suggest starting from the beginning with Savage Collision so that you can get a good background on the other Hawke siblings. Each story is just as good as the last and I have no doubt that the fourth book in the series will be just as impressive. With this author, be prepared for some steamy heated moments with the couples and loyal family members doing whatever it takes for one another, even if it means being on the wrong side of the law. I’m definitely a fan of Gwen McNamee and look forward to what she writes next.

A breathtaking, heartbreaking, gutwrenching romance!

I was so happy to see Nora get her own book after meeting her in Savage Collision and getting a glimpse that there was so much more to her than just her chosen profession. Here, she finds herself strangely attracted to a fan who purposely keeps his identity hidden. Meanwhile, her older sister Dani drags her to the Hawke family dinners while warning her to stay as far from troubled younger brother, Stone, as she can. And this is where the fun begins, because as much as neither Stone nor Nora wants to take a chance on what appears to be an obviously doomed relationship, their undeniable chemistry prevents them from listening to their rational selves.

Their romance is a roller-coaster of heart and angst, highs so high the lows feel unsurvivable. Stone and Nora are forced to bare everything in their hearts and pasts as they navigate the choppy waters of a new relationship and their own family histories. The author pulls no punches as the truths come to light, so keep your tissues handy and be prepared to yell at your Kindle from time to time.

As the third book in the Hawke Family series, this intense romance works as a standalone, but readers who have read the previous books will have a fuller understanding of the conflicts that plague Stone and Nora. This book continues the story arc that started in Savage Collision, bringing resolution to most of the issues while still leaving something on the table for a future installment. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

These two are attracted to each other but knows this can't happen. .The both do a dance around  their feelings  until they just can't fight it off any more..Holy Cow these two are Hot,Hot,Hot together. Book one is Savage Collision. Book two is Tortured Skye. Book 3 is Stone Sober. This is my favorite story line so far but I am still #TeamSavage! I really loved this story and I still love the Hawke family! This book was easy to read with lines and thoughts as simple as: “Maybe in another world, another life, another time, things could be different.” Sounds like the same old story but McNamee is able to kick it up more than just a notch, she kicks it in high gear. This story is hot! Exciting! And oh my those “large black lacquered wardrobes” and all the things they held inside! No wonder Nora was feeling a little confused.

“How is it possible to dread and crave something so much at the same time?”

There were a couple of things that made me go hmmm. The biggest thing was that it seemed that Stone’s addiction was just a mild case and easily enough to kick. Even though, I felt, that his sister tried to make a huge deal out of it. Maybe his addiction wasn’t a key element to the story but then the title is Stone Sober. (Just my random thoughts.) The other thing was the Hawke family mom—Mrs. Hawke also known as loyal to a fault, “…that naïve or blind…” leader of the whole Hawke family. Is Gwyn McNamee just building us up for something more for dear ol’ mom? Or is she really not that great of a person? I have high hopes for mom!

I can not wait to read more from McNamee and I really hope there’s more of this family!

Stone Sober by Gwyn McNamee is the third book in her Hawke Family series and what an amazing read it was! Gwyn has not let us down! She has given us a flawed Stone that is so different from Savage or Gabe who we met in the first two books of the series and what a journey does this flawed man take us on! By the way, you should definitely read the first two before tackling Stone; you will get so much more out of this story knowing Savage and Gabe’s stories …
Stone Hawke is a bad boy, handsome and intelligent and arrogant and a list of vices as long as your arm and … he is perfect! Nora Eriksson is in total agreement, the “only” issue is that everyone is warning her about him and … he is family, sort of … on top of that, Nora has her own battles to wage …
It is an amazing story of fighting demons and finding out if we are stronger alone or together … do Stone and Nora have what it takes to make it also outside the bedroom? Will the come out together at the other end after all these secrets and danger and ups and downs and … you get my drift! AND on top of that we hear more of Savage and Gabe and all those other secondary characters and I am so happy that there are over 300 pages of awesomeness!
If you are looking for a romance that breaks your heart and leaves you in daze … you have found it! Gwyn is a master story teller and I cannot wait for the next Hawke family instalment!

Stone Sober: (A Hawke Family Novel) (The Hawke Family Book 3) Gwyn McNamee was not what I expected, it was better. Gwyn is a great story teller and this is one of my favourite series. I have loved the other two books in the series but this is my favourite so far, they just keep getting better and better, if that is even a possibility. Gwyn weaves lots of twists and turns that will have your heart pumping and emotions running all over the place. There are laughter and tears, sorrow and doubt, confusion and heartache, love and heartbreak and that is just naming a few. It is a little dark as well and that just adds to the excitement, drama and thrills.

Stone is the baby of the family and has just returned home but he is not so sure that is a good thing. He has a secret that only one other person knows, a secret that has led him down the wrong path, a secret that he uses vices to try to escape from. Now he has found a new vice and knows he needs to stay away or ruin a beautiful thing.

Nora is smart and sexy and turned away from a brilliant career to strip but no one knows her reasons and no one understands but it is the perfect job, it is freeing and that is just what she needs for now. But when she finally finds out who hides in the corner, in the shadows her life will forever be changed.

Trust me this is an amazing story and you will not want to put it down. It is hot and dark and forbidden and oh so good.
