There is no evolution without sacrifice. The weak must be eliminated, for the strong to rise. Devastated by Chris's death, Liz has taken to the streets of San Francisco in a one-woman war against the government. With nothing left to lose, she'll do whatever it takes to have her revenge. But even a genetically-engineered girl with wings has her limits, and Liz is up against an army. It's only a matter of time before her recklessness demands a reckoning. The question is - who will pay the price? Meanwhile, the scourge of the Chead, once a trickle, has become a deluge. Led by the ancient Talisa, hordes of the superhuman creatures are sweeping across the countryside, decimating towns and reaping bloody slaughter. Only the young are spared - so they might become Chead themselves. With refugees flooding the cities of the Western Allied States, the tyrannical government might just be humanity's last hope...

This is book 4 in The Praegressus Project Series. This genre is not what I normally read, but I must say this has been an amazing series. Very well written with complex characters and an engaging storyline. A page turner for sure. The continuing story of our winged heroes will keep your interest. I read an advance copy and voluntarily chose to review this book.
What can I even say but Aaron has done it again! Like all praegressus books it always takes the reader on an emotional rollercoaster to the point where at the end of the book you feel so emotionally drained you need to read a comedy or something 😂😂😂.
But joking aside I gave this book 5 stars cause it was absolutely brilliant! It had action, drama and character development which keeps the reader definitely on their toes. Be warned though this story ain't for the faint of heart...it's gonna leave you extremely mad and upset cause of the deaths and the way the director handles things. But all is necessary for the start of the next book...which is out this Xmas! Which I'm super hyped for!
Started reading this book and couldn't put it down until I finished it. Another excellent book. Revenge, betrayals, tragedy, love and death. The author delivers again. Don't miss the continuing story of our winged heroes. I highly recommend this book. One more book to go!
Book 4 starts with the aftermath of the massacre at the university and the reported deaths of two of our heroes. The others have escaped and joined the resistance with the Mad Women group.
The Director has shown herself as even more evil than thought and her and the President use the massacre and protests in Independence Square to bring in martial law and a curfew. They have also brought in compulsory enlistment and this is catching all the country youth escaping from the Chead and worries of them restarting experiments again are coming true.
The Chead are gathering and forcing more to join them as they rampage through small towns in the country. Missing young girls and women amongst the main ones disappearing.
Our winged heroes set their minds on taking down the Director as her plans become more unacceptable and they learn how truly evil she is and that thousands more will suffer and possibly die due to her experiments.
This book your attention at all times as each character plays an important role in the story, interlinking the tales of the winged heroes, the resistance, the Mad Women and the Cheads. Never a dull moment !
I would recommend everyone to read this series – lots of pace and interesting concepts of what people can do to each other and how easy it is for evil to prevail.
I was lucky to receive a free copy of this book from the author and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above. Loving this series – only one left to go !
Some books, as good as they may be, just might have a slow spot or two. The fourth installment of Aaron Hodge’s Praegressus Project, does not. Since the introduction of our heroes and heroines in “Rebirth,” we learn to love these characters and have sympathy through their pains and joy through their triumphs.
I found this to be a bit darker than the previous stories. Chris and Ashley are believed to be dead, when, in fact, they are once again imprisoned by someone even worse than Halt. Liz is becoming reckless in her grief while all of our winged friends are struggling to keep it together.
While there are some obviousness to the story, Aaron Hodges does well at keeping his readers on the edge of their seats, wanting more and then some. This reader is eager to find out how it all ends in book five.
With just 4 of the genetically winged teenager left to fight they need to stop the government from continuing their experiments and killing thousands of children. Chris and Ashley, are they dead? Are they alive? No one knows but the focus cannot change, they need to stop the President. Another great story in this series. I love the way Mr. Hodges fleshed out his characters and builds them and the scenes in his story. I can't wait to see how this story ends.
I would recommend this book to everyone. But of course you need to start with book one. This has been an awesome series. It would make an excellent movie. I highly recommend the series.
I have read all four of this story and loved ever word. Can't wait for December to arrive, an early Xmas present! I will find more of this Author 's stories, I just like the way he explains every scene.
