A dead actress. A missing diamond. A mystery left unsolved. Psychic Cree Blue is at it again, and this promises to be her toughest case yet.
Normal people search for celebrities when they go to Hollywood. Cree Blue isn’t normal. She’s searching for a killer and a missing diamond whose ownership could change the destiny of a small country.
Given the mounting list of suspects and red-hot secrets with the potential to destroy lives, she’s willing to risk it all to find the truth, even if that means immersing herself in the secret lives of the rich and famous. Her only hope is that this trip to Tinsel Town doesn’t steal her life too.
I read the first book and loved it. The second book was good but there were little things about West that unsettled me. The third book, I had to tap out at 50%. West was keeping secrets. BIG SECRETS. And it was after they'd had sex and admitted feelings for each other. It took his character way down and I lost respect for him. He had sex with the woman who's murder he wanted her to solve and didn't tell her before hand. He also had a previous relationship with another psychic who he was working with to solve the same murder and that psychic died because of the case and he doesn't tell Cree any of that. UNFORGIVABLE IN MY HERO'S.
But here's the kicker and or plot hole... if you will. Cree's a psychic. I'll wait while you try to catch up to where I'm going with this. Are you there yet? Ah huh. So, why didn't she peak behind the veil and see West's motivations. You better believe I'd have done it. Especially when the things he started saying weren't making sense. It was as if the author wanted her to be fooled and it didn't read believable to me.
These are quick reads and it’s best to read in order since mysteries prior books bleed into each other. Cree is helping to solve the murder of Calinda, find a diamond and save the monarchy. West is hiding secrets about his connections to two of the victims. Is he a good guy or not? The book moves pretty fast. The paranormal element is there but the actual investigating leaves something to be desired.
I just love these books! They are easy to read, fun, with mystery, romance and ghosts. What more could you ask for? I highly recommend this book and this series.
In Dead Famous, Cree Blue has been asked to help solve the mystery of a woman’s murder. Calinda was in a relationship with a monarch when she died. But her murderer and a missing stolen diamond has never been found. The killer needs to be found before the monarchy falls! Cree Blue and her British agent work together to solve the case before it’s too late.
Ms allenton has a knack for relationships with zero chemistry. Part of what I love about these books is the low key and cozy vibe but that also means lack of character development and connection sometimes.
Also why does every male character love the FMC in every book in every series. Like come on
Cree is in the middle of helping her Godfather with a case, and after she gives him most of the information, she goes to help the new man in her life solve his case. She doesn't yet know if he will be her lover or not, and when she realizes that he is hiding a lot more from her than she though things get messing. Especially when it seems like he may be helping a killer who is his best friend.
This book was okay. I really didn't like the whole secret that the hero was keeping. It was annoying and made me lose respect for him. And it was a bit annoying how it ended and how he just had feelings for her all of a sudden. But other than that Cree was awesome, and I liked the story for the most part.
**Warning** Cliffhanger ahead! Ok it’s more of a book hook since the story in this book is completed, but it is kind of an ending that leaves you hanging! This is book three of a series, and although the books can be read as a standalone, it’s best when they’re read in order.
Finally Cree Blue is able to set aside some time for investigating the murder of the actress Calinda, whose affair with a prince has caused the man in question some problems.
This quirky sleuth, alongside her secretive escort, head to California to find out the truth. There all kinds of truths and secrets are exposed, romances kindled, and famous stars are met. In the end, will Cree be able to find out the answers before she ends up in danger?
Another enjoyable trip into the world of quirky psychic Cree. It’s an enjoyable cosy mystery series, with all kinds of outlandish happenings, that make for an entertaining and amusing read.
If you enjoy cosy paranormal mystery books, then this one is for you.
Nice, fun, quick read, with laugh out loud humor courtesy of a witty and likeable heroine. My only dark mark is my usual complaint: no editing? Not even a read over to correct glaring mistakes? This book was particularly bad about going from third to first person without explaining who the "me, I" character was. I found my reading momentum coming to a screeching halt several times while I tried to figure out which of the characters was speaking. I appreciate the author cranking out this book series, probably staying up all night to finish on time. It seems like a simple read through would bring editing errors to light to be fixed. Meanwhile I will try to get over it and on to the next book in the series. I do enjoy Ms. Cree Blue!
I have been provided with a copy of Dead Famous by the author for an impartial review. This is the third book in the Cree Blue Psychic Eye Mystery series and once again we are transported back into the world with Cree Blue and her friends and we finally get to solve the case of the dead actress that has been mentioned in the last two books. This book was such an easy read and it immediately makes you want more. This series just keeps getting better and better you think you know what’s going on and then wham your immediately proven wrong. I loved getting to see more of Cree and West and I can’t wait to see were there relationship leads. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
The actress and the diamond hide many other deadly secrets.
Awesome. What a terrific series. She is finally able to start the hunt for the killer of the actress (and finally getting rid of her ghost). However the search is not just for the killer but also the missing diamond. What secrets will be uncovered and how will it impact on those around her? Will her attraction to her personal James Bond lead her into danger? With others in the wings waiting for him to let her down this just adds to the mayhem that ensues. A great plot with many hidden aspects that you will love. Shame it's such a long wait for the next book.
I received an ARC of Dead Famous from the author Kate Allenton and have chosen to review it. Dead Famous is the third book in the new series A Cree Blue Psychic Eye Mystery and in this book we are finally going to see more of what happened with the dead actress that has been previously mentioned in this series. This author just has a way with words that immediately make you want to read more and they are just so easy to read. I look forward to the next story she decides to write.
Calinda is a singing ghost. There's a variety of human characters and some of them in trying to help a soon-to-be-retired cop solve his only cold case in his entire career.
We learn how Cree's father died and how Calinda died and a celebrity stalker along with a missing diamond.
Unfortunately for Cree there's a guy that plans to kill her.
The book does have a really good ending and the characters are is interesting as they usually are in this series of books.
I loved finally finding out who killed Calinda because the wait and the tease was killer. This was a great story and was just awesome all around to read. I loved getting more into the Cree and West relationship. There are just so many different things to love about this story and this series that makes it where I can't wait to get my hands on the next one.
I just love this series! Its so exciting and there is never a dull moment from beginning to end. The characters are so woven together each with their own special place. I love the humor and the snark as well. You are one of the most wonderful I have ever read. You have buku talent. Thank you!!!!!😘❤
Cree goes to LA to try to find a royal diamond and who killed an actress. Charlie & Butler are there and vying for Cree’s attention, as well as West. Things get crazy with people trying to kill Cree to keep her from exposing the truth. I love the psychic element in this series.
This book is in need of proofreading, just like all of the books by this author. This one was worse than the last one when it came to errors. The plot moved along quickly, and the humor is good. It would be better if the errors had been fixed before publication.
Dead Famous is the third book in the Cree Blue Psychic Eye mystery series by Kate Allenton and it is terrific! It is a lighthearted suspense that will keep you guessing until the very end. It is the perfect read that can be finished in an evening!
Wow! What a great book. Cree does another great job and Calinda stayed so very annoying. Wyatt really came through and once again this is a great book filled with mystery, love, humor and definitely some characters. Counting down to the release date of the next book.
Wow! I am loving this series! It is full of wonderful characters and intriguing stories. I am binge reading this series and I can't put it down! Cree and West head to Hollywood to solve the mystery of a Hollywood Star and find a missing diamond!
A suspenseful cozy mystery (romance?)Good action with a little anx. I enjoyed the mystery part, not so much the romance. And,the proposal sounded fake out of the blue including Lady Blue. A few editing errors but otherwise a good read❣️
I have truly enjoyed this series. Fun read, quirky heroine, great cast of characters. Should be read in order for most understanding. Will be sad to finish last one.
Cree decides to work on two cases at the same time. The one who killed Faraday's brother and who killed Calinda and where is the royal diamond. Good story and characters and a fun read.
But friendly ghost who doesn’t want to cooperate and with final days as chaotic and dramatic as only Hollywood can be. Cree gets to the bottom of it all with the help of new old friends
Cree Blue Psychic Eye Mystery series is getting better and better with each book. The only thing I miss is animals talking to her. You never know where Cree’s adventures will take her.
Short books, but good series, but I'm glad they are on K unlimited, because I wouldn't pay $3.oo each for them, not that the books lack, but I read too fast to be able to afford it~
