She's got a Japanese paternal grandmother who wants to be a YouTube star, and a Yugoslavian maternal grandfather who not only thinks he's royalty, but loves Elvis, has an arsenal of corny jokes, and corresponds with Nixie regularly on FaceTime. But the murder of Big Willie Carter puts a halt to everything, and it's up to Nixie to find out whodunit if she wants to leave Collierville and get back home to Connors Grove, New York with her brand new tiny house.

About the author

A cute and fun little murder mystery. The murder was a bit easy to solve but it was still an entertaining read. I was hoping that this would be involving tiny houses a bit more but I guess this was more of an introduction and the tiny house theme will be playing a bigger role in the following mysteries.... I will read more.

Being a fashionista might be a good thing

A lighthearted read that deals with the fashion obsessed heroine, a stalker and murder. But does it lead to finding the culprit? You betcha! Over the top characters that are all larger than life but with a fun angle thrown in.
She's slowly making her way back home. Not that she wants too but money is tight and with her panache for high end designer products even harder. A stop at a bar has her picking up a stalker and a hero. Although with her martial arts training she can look after herself. However being driven off the road is something she couldn't prepare for but her hero comes swooping in to the rescue and takes her and her dog to his family ranch where she becomes a suspect in his father's murder. A pair of Louboutin shoes, false books, family secrets and the wrong shade of lipstick are mixed into a zany read. But do they give her the clues to get the killer, clear her name and save the family business?

I'll be honest, I read this for the Read Harder challenge. I picked it because I needed something that was self published and reading a cozy mystery (which happened to fulfill the same challenge) seemed like the most appealing option. This was fine. It was definitely cozy. It's not something I would recommend you running out and getting your hands on a copy right now, but I liked the main character.

This book was okay. I bought it because I thought it was a tiny house mystery but the only part tiny houses play in the book was the setting for the murder at the beginning and the set up for the main character to live in one at the end. Maybe the next book would be better since she will be traveling and living in one but this book wasn't what i hoped it would be. The story was really light, you could skim through pages and not miss anything. A lot of rehashing what was already known. If you like a cozy mystery you may enjoy it but there are a lot of books i would recommend before this one.

Who doesn't love books by Author, Abby Vandiver? "A Tiny Collierville Murder" is no exception. Her quirky characters, her writing style and now a tiny house series. I love tiny houses so a series with tiny houses as a feature in this cozy mystery series make it a winner. Add to the fact that it holds twists, turns and surprises you won't expect along with a great cozy mystery. I don't want to give away any secrets so read the blurb for information. I give it five stars and as always I can't wait to read more of Abby Vandiver's books.

A fun, cozy murder mystery. The characters are quirky, yet believable. The tiny houses are a new topic. The clues are good enough to let you figure out the who dun-it without giving it away too early, or getting to the end and finding the solution includes info they never shared with the reader. Great story, I want to read more.
But, it desperately needs an edit. If spelling & punctuation errors but you, or if the wrong word irks you, you may give up early on in the story.

I read this as part of the BookRiot Read Harder Challenge. The category: a self published book. From the very first page, that was not too much of a challenge to figure out. Rife with typos, grammar mistakes, missing words, and the likes, the plot becomes obscured with the sheer difficulty of plodding through the book. I eventually gave up and called it a day. There are too many wonderful books out there to waste time struggling through a dud.

I read this book for my Read Harder & Reading Women challenges this month. It was a quick read and it was a cute mystery. I liked the protagonist of the story (especially her detailing her love of all things fashion). I would probably read other books in the series as it was such a quick read. I gave this 3/5 stars.

The storyline is different and I love the main character.

A Tiny Collierville Murder (A Tiny House...)

Abby Vandiver captured my attention from the very start by putting 3 words in the title: "Collierville", and "tiny house". I am from Memphis and Collierville is "just down the street", and tiny houses fascinate me so I obtained this book. I was not disappointed. This cozy mystery is a good whodunit with humor and friendliness. I highly recommend this book for an few hours of pleasurable reading.
