A warm, funny look at one of the most fascinating mini-beasts, by award-winning actress and national treasure Alison Steadman OBE.
'I hate spiders!' says Rafael. At least, he thinks so. But when he really gets to know the BIG, HAIRY, SCARY SPIDER he finds a new, eight-legged friend. This hilarious, action-packed look at spiders will enthrall both children and parents, with plenty of spider facts and figures throughout the book to entertain and delight.
This is Alison Steadman's first book for children.
I think most children will be able to relate with this book! It's funny but informative at the same time as it gives lots of facts about the spider throughout the book!
A fun book. It is a story about a spider who meets a boy and tries to change his opinion of spiders. It incorporates interesting facts about spiders. Good for any aracnaphobes out there
There is a lot of information on each page of this book. There is the main narrative in which the boy learns to like spiders and there are multiple fact bubbles about spiders in general. This could be confusing for a class when being read to because it could be a lot to focus on. This book highlights that spiders aren't scary (a common belief in young children) and how they can actually help the world.
