FREE EXTENDED PREVIEW! Can Hanna and Will Find True Love amid the Bright Lights of Reality TV? Perfect for the fans of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette!
Six months ago, William stole Hanna’s heart and shattered it in front of millions of people on a reality TV dating show. And now the big-wig CEO is back on Hanna’s home turf in Minnesota and wants her to forgive him? Fat chance of that. But life is swirling around faster than snow in a blizzard, and despite her objections, teaming up with William seems like the only option to rescue her reputation.
William has never regretted anything more than the day he gave that ill-fated interview for the reality show, The Price of Love. But while he can’t change the past, he’s determined to fix the future. He just needs to convince Hanna to forgive him—and pretend to be engaged with him. Simple, right?
When the media erupts with even worse accusations, teaming up and pretending to be engaged seems to be the only way to salvage their reputations. Despite the media frenzy that swirls around them, an attraction neither of them can fight off begins to surface. Could this love run deeper than a scandal, or will old wounds tear them apart once and for all? When all seems lost, it’s only with help from above that Hanna and Will may find their happily-ever-after.

Hanna knew she should not have left knowing a snow storm was due but Hanna had been driving in weather like this since she was fifteen. Then Hanna saw a car in the ditch and she knew she had to stop even if it was a reporter but there had been less and less lately. Hanna fought and finally got the door open to the car in the ditch. She got the man out of the car he was half frozen and into her truck and blasted the heater and put her coat over him. Hanna wished she was back in Duluth teaching her kindergarteners. Instead she was back at her father’s farm. Living there at the age of twenty seven. After her dad got the man inside the farmhouse Hanna realized who he was . It was him- William Preston CEO the man who had ruined her life- humiliated her in front of millions seven months ago. Hanna’s father- Jim- told Will he could stay in the guest room until the storm cleared up WIll- and Hanna- had been on a reality tv dating game and he was the CEO bachelor and looking for love. Hanna was one of the contestants from a small town teacher with strict morals and totally opposite Will. everyone had wanted Will to pick Hanna the one who least fit into his life. Wll had listened to them. But there was something about Hanna he couldn’t let go of. Hanna didn’t deserve to be saddled with Will - a sorry excuse for a fiance, not to mention CEO. He would have loved to shoot off an email to fix this and make it go away but his board of directors had other ideas. Will told Jim he honestly thought he was doing the right thing and he couldn’t get Hanna out of his head and his heart told him to go to her. Which made no sense as it was only business. Will had only known Hanna on the show for six weeks. And until the end Will had been dating a slew of other women. But after the show Hanna had plagued Will’s dreams almost every night. Hanna was also a reminder of of a time before he had ever heard of the reality show. Will told Jim his feelings for Hanna were complicated but Hanna was important to him and he had hurt her. Will wanted to make it right. Jim said they would talk more the next day. Hanna’s defenses could not be trusted when it came it Will. He was a smooth talker and had a way of getting under her skin and climbing into her heart before Hanna even knew he was there. After watching the interview of YouTube yet again Hanna now saw Will for who he really was - a lying player who had only cared about dollar signs and her precious image. Hanna had went to the show at the pressure of her best friend who had signed her up as a joke. But Hanna swore she wouldn’t compromise who she was for the sake of the show. Will knew the board of directors hope for a renewal of the relationship for the free publicity was not going to happen. Will was protecting his heart so he didn’t repeat getting the pain he had in his past. After Will’s interview Hanna had received hateful letters and media articles. This was an easy enjoyable fun read - other than when reading about Hanna’s hurt. I also thought this was a good romance and made me chuckle at times. I really enjoyed the twists and turns in this book. I loved how Hanna stood by her values and faith. But I thought she could have been a little more understanding Will had not actually come out and and say they had slept together that was the media taking their own take on what he said though it was implied. This book was a bit predictable. I liked the plot a lot but this did drag some for me at times. I enjoyed how Will really didn’t know how to fix things but still wanted to - was realistic. But he still went to Hanna even if in the end she she had to rescue him. I liked Hanna’s dad Jim he seemed more understanding on both sides. All and all I really enjoyed reading this and loved the characters and I recommend.
After being humiliated on national television, what choice does Hanna have but to return home? Home to the aptly named Embarrass, Minnesota. Six months have passed since “Holy” Hanna left the show, disgraced, angry, and bitter. Six months she’s had to deal with seeing her name and face on the gossip magazines at the checkout counters. So when Will shows up, she’s none too happy. But he has a plan to get both of them back in the good graces of Americans (not to mention Will’s bosses). I loved Hanna! This character is so real. She struggles with her decisions, knows they’re probably not right but makes them anyway. She’s honest with herself about her bitterness toward William and her ruined witness because of going on The Price of Love. It’s her journey that most appealed to me in this book. William seems a little selfish at first but as I got to know him, I liked him more. While his methods aren’t the best, his intentions are. And that’s what counts. As both Will and Hanna spend time together, they’re reminded of the reasons they chose each other on the show. Yet there’s a distance between them that can only be filled with trust, forgiveness, and God. The perfect reminder that the price of love is great…greater than imagined at sometimes.

On a scale of cotton candy to Brussels sprouts, The Engagement Plot by Krista Phillips is a dark chocolate rose. The glitzy aluminum hides the deep flavors of the creamy confection with a touch of bitterness laced through the sweetness. It's both sweet and carries substance.
One sentence from the most eligible bachelor, William Preston, with a touch of innuendo dragged Holy Hanna's carefully groomed witness for Christ right through the mud. Now, she's done with her ex-fiance and wishes that she'd never set foot on the TV reality show. But when she rescues him off the side of the road in the middle of a blizzard, she's swept into a ruse that just might save her reputation and his job. But will her heart betray her this time?
The Engagement Plot is Krista Phillips' best book yet. Laughter ran through every chapter. I tend to really love the whole dynamic of really-not-liking the guy (yes, a bit Pride & Projudice but not). It was so hilarious to watch how these two at-odds characters decided to hoodwink social media to repair their reputations. It was a super fun read.
Overall, if you enjoy comedy and romance with a whole heck of a lot of confusion, then after this extended preview...you better go grab the actual book (because it only gets better)!
The Engagement Plot what a complex Christian dramatic book. You have a reality star who was humiliated on TV by The Bachelor. She is criticized by being a Christian. Later he realizes that this humiliating her was the biggest mistake of his life and he wants to make it up to her. This brings the two of them into faking an engagement to save their reputations. Will it work? Will she forgive him and let her heart to open up to him again and trust him? Will they finally find true love? This is an enjoyable read and if you are looking for that kind of book here it is. I received a copy of this review from the Publisher and Netgalley; all the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

The Engagement Plot is a complicated story of an on again, off again engagement! I personally felt both leading characters needed to do some growing up! Krista Phillips has used an original plot of two people who appear on a tv show, The Price of Love, to find their true love. Will's parents want Will and Hanna to marry and encourage their engagement. The Engagement Plot includes some humorous scenes! I read The Engagement Plot through NetGalley.com. This is my honest opinion.
While some of the plot seemed a hair unbelivable, it was still a cute and enjoyable read! Every woman desires to be chosen and when the chooser rejects us, it can rip us to shreds. This story shows this but it also is a story of redemption and growth. I would definitely recommend this.
