Babies for the Dom

Knocked Up by the Master

Rate this book
I did something reckless. Something crazy… For one night I gave my submission to a stranger. I let him dominate me. Claim me. Own me. But that night rocked my world in more ways than one… I’m pregnant. Now he’s back and won’t stop until I’m calling him Master. Lysa Leo was a mistake. A beautiful, toe-curling, scorching-hot mistake. He was a stranger, but I let him take me in ways I never dreamed of. He showed me the pleasure of submission and the thrill of being dominated. He shook my world to the foundation, and then he was gone. I told myself it was for the best, that girls like me and guys like him are like oil and water, but it still hurts just as much. The worst part? I’m pregnant, and he has no idea. Leo Walking away from her was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. She was my temptress. My seductress. My perfect little temple of purity just begging to be corrupted. But I couldn’t do it. Every moment I spent with her sullied her sweet innocence, and no matter how unbearably hungry I was to taste her again, I couldn’t ruin her, so I left. But when I run into her two months later at the hospital and she’s pregnant? Well, every man has limits to his restraint, and there’s no f**king way I’m going to be able to keep away from my pet if she could be carrying my baby. I don’t just want to be the father of her baby. I want to be her Master. *As always, this is a totally SAFE, full length book with a happily ever after, no cheating, and plenty of steam.*

After years of contemporary romance, she's temporarily trading meet-cutes for magical academies and coffee shops for castles that reek of blood. She promises the banter is just as sharp, but now it comes with deadly consequences.

This was a nice, quick read. It was exactly what I was in the mood for. I love New Adult romances, especially with pregnant characters. This book was good. The romance happened very fast but this book is only 150 pages so I was okay with it. I'm not used to reading books with very dominant alpha males so at first I didn't approve of it, but I was fine with it by the end. The romance was sweet and the book had a great ending. I have the other two books in the series but I'm not sure when I'll get to them because I need to read my never-ending pile of physical TBR books :) I'm not sure if I'm going to review these books on my blog because their so short, but I'll let you know if I do.

Master oh master🔥🔥

This is the second book in the knocked up series. Not that you have to read them in order, as they have no characters in common.
Lysa and Leo have some hot chemistry in this book but by the middle, I was getting a little tired of Lysa. She couldn't make up her mind on this wonderful man who is trying to do everything to make her life easier. And I understand, yes sex keeps getting in the way but jeez give him a chance or keep your legs close.
Its a good story with a woman that needed to grow up a bit and that's what you see. I voluntary read advance readers copy for my honest review.

Pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this. I was expecting a different book but I’m really happy with what I got instead. Leo is so yummy! Lysa is so relatable. Overall a really great read!

actually 2.5 ⭐️
Safety:
-no virgins
-no drama from what I can remember, but they do go to bdsm clubs
-no cheating
-initial 2 months separation
-push away from H: he doesn't want to "stain her innocence" and "bring his darkness into her world"
-2 years later epilogue I like to believe it's because they later got a divorce

Now I'm going to explain the rating a bit more in detail, so if you want 0 spoilers do NOT read
-I didn't mind the h, but I didn't like her either, she was meh and lacked common sense and a backbone
-I have no clue why the author decided to go with the pregnancy trope if they only spoke about the baby like twice
-my biggest problem was the H, I just couldn't connect with him, to be honest I didn' really like him that much either
-don't get me wrong, I love alpha males, but only if they put the h and her feelings first
-he was sweet sometimes I guess, but
-he was also too pushy too soon
"She can have time, but if she thinks I'm going to make it easy for her to wait, she's wrong. I've done my best to be patient, to take my time to explaining things to her and trying not to overwhelm her. But my patience has its limits, and I'm so near to the breaking point I don't know how much longer I'll last. It might be time for the gloves to come off, for me to show her in no uncertain terms that she wants everything I'm offering and more."

That was literally the next day after they meet again, making it 2 DAYS he had to ""wait"", so I don't know why he's so impatient, especially if you consider the fact she's new to the bdsm scene and pregnant
-about the bdsm thing: he goes on and on about how much trust is important for them yet he doesn't know her and doesn't even really try, even does things that really blindside the h
-he orders his staff to bring Lysa's mom to a doctor he knew (while they're on their first """"""date""""""), it would be sweet if they were dating or knew each other for a bit or at the very least had talked about it before, but nope.
-Lysa does get mad at him, not because he did it without telling her but because they already had tried everything, until he says this line:
"WE can't let her die without trying."

-Later he agrees that it was a bad idea, but the way he said it was very condescenting
"In retrospect, I was an idiot for thinking it was a good idea. Leave it to me to assume she would want the best treatment money could buy."

-now let's talk about their dates
-the first time they go out he brings her to a bdsm party without telling her where they were going and honestly in her place I wouldn't have liked to be blindsided like that
-on their second (but first official date) where does he take her? If you said a bdsm club *ding ding* we have a winner
-now why was that a bad idea? Well, Lysa wanted to get to know him better since she's kind of pregnant with his child, but instead of being a normal person and taking her to a restaurant so they can talk, he takes her to a place where they can have sex as if that's not the only thing they had been doing until that point
-again Lysa agreed with me
"This was supposed to be a date. You brought me to this place and expected to.. what? Take me to some dark room and tie me up while you spank me again? is that all it's ever going to be between us?"

-of course she changed her mind like 5 lines later
-to his credit he does ask her some questions during sex, but it really isn't the same
-overall I couldn't believe their love, they obviously lusted for each other but that's not enough to make a marriage work and honestly I don't think they would last

I’m obsessed with this series! I was skeptical about this being as good as the first but she went a whole different direction with this one. These start off with a bang (literally) and I can’t put them down until I’m finished. She does a great job of making these short stories believable makes you fall in love with the characters as fast as they do each other.

Lysa is leaving in a nice hotel since she didn't want her to pass away in some dingy hotel. But, it becomes a hassle when someone starts stealing her mother's medicine. She goes down to the concierge
and starts to read him the riot act when she feels someone pulling at her. Leo couldn't help it but he wanted Lysa now and she was so entranced that they wind up in a ultility closet. Then after she turns around and leaves to get away as fast as possible.

Two months later Lysa knows she is pregnant by Leo and she didn't know what to do but it but, just so happens as Lysa is leaving from her doctor's appointment Leo spots her while he is there for a meeting. Leo then notices the pamphlet in her hand that dealt with pregnancy. He confronts Lysa but she doesn't say the baby is his but he knew considering it had been two months since they were together.

He is not going to let her go encase it really is his baby. Leo is a Master and is looking for a submissive and he noticed that immediately that she was submissive. Leo slowly shows Lysa what his world is like and as much as she denied it she was enjoying herself.

Leo takes Lysa to one of the clubs and she was amazed at what was going on in fact sometimes she was mesmerized. Lysa and Leo become closer and closer and finally she accepts his collar along with an engagement ring. Rachel her mom was getting better after going to a specialty Doctor.

Lysa and Leo were thrilled at the arrival of their son knowing that he is loved and the story continues...

Intense, sexy Master needs his Pet

I received an Advance Reader Copy for Knocked Up by the Master: A BDSM Secret Baby Romance written by Penelope Bloom and voluntarily reviewed this book. Leo Carlyle spies Lysa Ross in the lobby of his Beaumont Hotel, and knows he will do anything to have her - the feelings he had for her were just that strong - Lisa was The One he was waiting for. The only thing he had to do was convince her. But after he manages some “hard” convincing, a situation occurs which makes him draw back from her.

For Lysa, she already has enough on her life’s plate for her to handle, without adding a man who could be so demanding that there would be nothing left of her. She was needed by her mother, and she also was struggling with everything alone, trying to do the best she can. But just when life throws her yet another fast ball, who should reappear just as suddenly into her life but Leo once again. But this time, Leo was all in, because he realizes that Lysa needs him, whether she admits it or not, and he was going to do everything in his power to help. But in the end, he will take her any way he can get her, Master or not.

Really enjoyed this story, which delves into the lifestyle of BDSM via Leo’s hands-on sensory crash-course for Lysa and his teaching of one of the fundamental principles - trust. Lysa's mother, Rachel, was hilarious, as well, and her words cracked me up.

**An ARC was given in exchange for an honest review**

I really enjoyed this book. Ok, I will be the first to admit "Knocked up by..." arent the first books I run to because I have this slight aversion to "insta-love" but I didn't mind it.

This book delves a bit into the BDSM world more than most books I read and I dont think it is a bad thing. It was kind of refreshing to see a Dom like Leo be so into this world and get to wiggle my toes in that type of dark water.

I LOVED the chemistry Lysa and Leo had. It was sweet, it was spicy and it was EVERYTHING. The only slight pout I had with this book is I just wanted more. More of everything.

I enjoyed seeing the backstory of Leo and having him be such an open and well developed character that was good for me and Lysa's mother was freakin hilarious. I loved her.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants a little bit more into the BDSM club scene and is in for something refreshing and a good change.

My only complaint?

Penelope Bloom keeps getting better and better and this read is no exception, the story of an alpha man, Leo, who finally finds the perfect woman, Lysa, who meets all his desires and wants in a slave and as a partner. After their first hot steamy meet, he decides to stay away from her and not taint her with his "darkness" but that proves difficult when he finds out he has marked her as his forever.
What a steamy, sensual read about earning trust and letting go, accepting help and being able to lean on someone else with all the burdens and responsibilities that Lysa has had all her life. I loved these two, Leo was intense and almost scary but filled with passion for Lysa and would do anything for her to make her trust and give all of herself to him. Lysa was a mature woman with everything she has gone through and I enjoyed reading how she is finally able to let go and give herself to him. I also enjoyed that once he had her no one else tempted him and he didn't try to "forget" her that way and how no one came between them. A story focused on them, building their relationship, with steamy scenes and finally becoming master and slave.

This is story about a young woman, Lysa who has been the one to handle all the needs of everyone around her before taking care of herself. Caring for her mom with no happy ending in sight little time for a social life. While Lysa goes to the manager of the hotel as her medicine has disappeared again! Leo the owner sees Lysa and decides right then and there that she is his other half and does what he needs to have her! Lysa runs away in the end and can not believe what happened did. They both have an thinkable connection with each other and do what they can to deny it. This causes heartache for each until 2 months later they see one another in the most unexpected place. This time Leo will not allow Lysa to get away and is determined to make her see that she is HIS submissive and slave and he is her MASTER. Can Leo show Lysa what his life is really like without scaring her away for good or having to give up his lifestyle? The way they interact together is great to see and Lysa’s Mom is a very interesting character! This story is very soft on the BDSM lifestyle. I believe Penelope has written another great story! What a journey – not only did we get one book but we got four books – what a surprise.

Lysa is working college student whose mom is sick and she’s in a hotel until she gets better, when the staff throw out her meds Lysa goes to the front desk to complain only to run attract the attention of Leo, at that point its gloves off for Leo. Great little book

Kylie just want’s a vacation and is bound and determined to get it – she meets Damian in the line at the airport – this one is just pure fantasy in my book.

Liam hires Aubrey to be a caretaker for his mother and daughter only he’s never meet her – once he realizes that she’s the one he ran into in the store he’s only goal is to get her to let him show her around the island. This one is really a cute read.

Mila is a matchmaker who is hired by Cynthia to get her old boyfriend back – she comes into town to scope it out only to meet Country needless to say Country turns out to be the old boyfriend for Cynthia, this book has lots of twist and turns and a couple of surprises in it, at times you are laughing really hard and other times your like oh no.

I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I went in expecting a poorly written novella, but what I got instead was a semi-normal relationship between the two main characters. All of the BDSM books I've read in the past have dealt with an almost standoff-ish hero and a dimwitted heroine, but Lysa, and especially Leo, were not like that.

A couple things though: I'm still trying to figure out where having Lysa's mother stay in an expensive hotel is a good and plausible idea? Before Leo, where did Lysa get the money to put her mother up for months at a time in what is presumed to be such a swanky place? Doesn't make sense. Also, why can't authors write likeable best friends for the heroine? HUH? I swear in every book, ever, the BFF's are beyond pushy, annoying, and downright selfish, plus they seem to think the heroine [Lysa] can't think for themselves. Tessa and whatever-her-name was were no exception. Talk about shitty best friends. And it seems to happen all the time! But whatever. I guess as long as they're not posing (because that's what they ALL seem to be doing), as my best friends, it's all good.

Okay!
Talk about a storyline that doesn't waste any time getting right to one of the leading events! I mean HELLO!
I am not one who goes for the 'Master' situations in BDSM relationships.( I am too stubborn to even read about them in a fictional setting ha!) Since the book was written by my favorite Ms. Bloom, I had to read it at least see what her story was all about.
While there were a couple of parts I was has all " oh, I don't care how nice he is, I would never say that" or " ah, is he for real?" * Googles, it* "Oh absolutely not."
I was glad that I did, I love that her stories have more depth than just an alpha billionaire getting a female to " submit. " and then catching a case of feels along the way.
Don't get me wrong; there is all that- in a way- BUT, this fast-paced, witty beast has such an emotional connection that makes it feel like he "submits " her just as much!
Well thought out, fun, full on sexy with awesome characters ( I loved Lysa) insta-yum that was not put-downable story that I am so glad I took a chance on!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I loved Leo and Lysa’s characters. They were a sweet, hot couple. They had a slow, simmering chemistry that hooked you from the start of their relationship. Lysa was use to taking control of every aspect of her life. She took care of her ailing mother and didn’t have any room for romance. That changed when she had s rum in with Leo. He was everything she dreamed in the romance department. Leo had to be in control of everything, especially his Subs. He was a Master in the BDSM. His gorgeous green eyes hypnotized Lysa from the beginning. This book was a pleasant surprise, the storyline was well written as were the characters. Don’t miss your chance to read an innocent sub and her alpha Dom. You’ll fall and cheer for their success too!

Knocked Up by the Master by Penelope Bloom is an excellent read. Fun, sexy and full of heat this BDSM secret baby romance is entertaining an engaging. Features the story of Leo and Lysa. These two meet at his Hotel and sparks fly. Soon is letting her experience of giving in to her desires. After Lysa slips away, Leo decides it's better to let her go. Two months later Leo runs into her again and this time she's pregnant. Leo knows there is no letting go this time. She will be his little pet and she will call him master. This book is super hot and sexy. These characters are complex and they have scorching chemistry. Also I found this to be a very beautiful love story about two people that find each other, fulfill a need that they each have and fall head over heels into their HEA.

Once Leo sees Lysa he must claim her and make her his. The connection between them is off the charts and the sex is hot. Leo is a Dom and wants Lysa in every way possible. Lysa feels alone and taking care of her sick mom has taken its toll and scared to give Leo control. They haven’t see each other but when they meet again and Leo learns Lysa pregnant, that’s all he needs to make her his forever. Great read and enjoyable characters. Hoping to get Jayce’s story next

I received a copy from the author and I voluntarily reviewed this book.

This was an entertaining read. Leo went from being out of control to self denial to willing to do anything to keep Lysa and his child. The author did a great job with Leo and his brother's relationship and their background. I loved Trouble's no-nonsense, irritable, violence threatening tirades. By the title you can tell that there is a BDSM theme and sex scenes but the plot itself is fairly sweet and Leo proves his good intentions repeatedly.

Grab it and enjoy!

I loved this steamy read! Lysa lost her father and now her mother is sick with cancer and won’t go through chemo again. Lysa is doing her best to take care of herself, her mom and going to college. She meets Leo and the attraction is intense. He wants to be her master, but is Lysa ready for that? She has a one-night stand with him and bumps into in months later holding a pregnancy and you pamphlet. Can they have more than just the one night? Great characters, hot sex and an entertaining read. I loved it.

This is a 3.5 star read for me. It is heavy with BDSM themed situations, so you know it is full of dirty hot sex. There is also the romantic relationship of Leo & Lysa, our hero/heroine. Leo is determined to conquer Lysa’s body, and have her submit to him. What he didn’t imagine was that with her submission, he would also find love and a family.

It felt very rape-y. It wasn't all love at first site he needed her. He forced her to have very public sex with him in an elevator of the hotel he owns.

This author needed to research Masters a bit more.

This is the second bondage book I read by Penelope Bloom and I can say that it was an okay book to read.

But it's not really my thing, at least by this author.

The sexual scenes were good and the chemistry between the two is there. But the plot itself just wasn't making it up to par. Unfortunately I'm not a fan of these types of books by her. But her other books I've really come to enjoy them. I was hoping the same for these one as well. But it seems to be no go.

As for the book itself it was okay, as for there main female character Lysa I cannot say I enjoy her much. I found myself very much disliking her character. I feel that she could've been more honest from the start. Instead she plays these little games... Well not really.. more so she tries to play damsel in distress, then want to act like she's not and that she this strong person... Which is not the case, it's actually really annoying to read. I find that she is very wishy-washy, and it's very off putting.

Leo is the man pursing her, and he clearly wants a relationship, and is willing to kill himself to make it happen. He goes out of his way and even try to push her to push her mom to not give up and to get better help to beat cancer. But you think she would be great full? Noooo. That is far from the case with this one. Instead she's more like a cry baby and it's very much annoying.

I only have one more book from this author under the same category an d I don't have much faith in it, but will be beginning it after this post.

2.5 Stars.

I’m a fan of the secret baby trope and this author’s secret baby books were suggested to me by an algorithm. They are an erotic, BDSM-tinged take on the secret baby trope that have just enough plot to still be on the romance side of erotica. In this book, Lysa is a bit of a control freak with the weight of the world on her shoulders, working full time, caring for her sassy, terminally-ill mother and going to school when she meets billionaire business mogul, Leo, who for unexplained reasons is instantly in love with her. Lysa admits her instalust but even though she’s expecting his baby, it’s no reason for her to give up her trust just like that.

I feel like there was a lot of gratuitous sexy times in this book but the plot had some nuggets that could have made this a more solid romance if they had been developed further. For example, Lysa’s relationship with her mom, her female friendships, Leo’s past and his reasons for feeling “dark and violent.” I think what this novel did well is explore BDSM culture a little by questioning the whys for being a submissive and also emphasizing the trust aspect that is essential in the practice. This is less secret-baby themed than the first book. Also note that there’s no linkage running through any of the books except the secret baby theme. Content warning if you have any issues with consent and control.

Anti-feminist misinformation

I will update this if this is corrected. I'm 28 pgs in and the author writes that the character does not take the morning after pill 'because she read that they could hurt the fetus'. That is 100% completely factually inaccurate. morning after pill is NOT an abortion pill. Is this author going to send pregnant women to those Uber religious "pregnancy centers" and spout nonsense about vaccines too? author should seriously correct this absolute misinformation. As I said, if the author points out the character's mistake, I will adjust this review. I'm concerned she is seriously going to spread dangerous misinformation about women's health given that plenty of women, myself included, learn a whole heck of a lot about sex from romance novels.

This was a quick read which I needed after the large book I just finished.
It was sweet and romantic and I enjoyed it a lot. I think my only reason for giving it the rating I did was my enjoyment of it. Like I loved it but would I read it again, probably not.
But anyway its something that was perfect for my needs and can check something off my list
