If you are looking for gentle romps through the flowers, with lovers holding hands and never making mistakes, then my books are not for you.

I don't write heroes or heroines, I write people with baggage, history and problems. My characters are flawed, they're messy, they make disastrous mistakes that are hard to come back from. My stories are not sweet or kind, they are dark and, at times, cruel. They deal with uncomfortable subjects and I do not apologise for it.

If you like plot twists, characters you don't think you'll ever grow to love but eventually do, sarcasm, dark paths and messy relationships, then come on in. The water may be deep and shark-infested, but I know the way out ...I promise.

3.75 STARS, bonded to this series ★★★✬✩
This book is for you if… you do not expect outrageous things from yet another vampire book and are able to draw on the little details that make this book a nice experience.

Overall.
You can see it right at the bottom: 4 stars to enjoyability. And it's accurate. I really liked this. Bonded in Blood is the perfect company for a night of painting and a light walk around the neighbourhood. Neither original nor exceptional, this narrative still managed to find it’s way to my feelings in this reading slump I’m in right now. I'm not complaining, just immensely thankful.

Many vampire romances are problematic at best, however, L. Ann managed to create main characters that possess proper morals despite their obvious flaws. Both came from interesting backgrounds - the way they grew past their difficulties and towards each other was the biggest source of entertainment for me.

When the paranormal world lives underground and parallel to the human world with barely any intersections, the world-building is as undemanding as can be, which just added to the effortless character of Bonded in Blood. Fighting the evil forces of the underground involves a very stereotypical arch of suspense with plenty of small fighting scenes and sexy intermezzos until the big-battle-slash-rescue-mission functions as the final showdown.

What’s happening.
After the one night stand of their lifetime, neither Taz nor Anna expect to see each others' faces ever again - although it does not keep them from cooking up wild fantasies about an near impossible encounter. It is thus highly unexpected but with great pleasure that Taz finds Anna on his doorstep, even though she might be bleeding and only to discover she's the daughter of one of his most trusted advisors, an uncle of sorts.

What follows is a wild chase to contain the threats to his kingdom. And a search for the aspirations both Taz and Anna have towards their romantic future.

After reading and really enjoying the Midnight Pack series by the author I was really looking forward to this, but the writing felt so different and not in a good way. I didn’t find myself ensnared by the characters and plot, and I don’t want to spend any more time trying to get through it.

Intense, witty and wickedly entertaining!!!

Sometimes my cover whorish ways pay off! Yep, this cover had me stopping my scroll with a quickness, the blurb got me clicking and the story paid off in spades. I'm ecstatic that I took a chance on these new to me authors. They delivered well written, action packed and interesting book with a refreshing take on vampire society.

Taz and Morgan, the two main characters, were wildly entertaining all on their own, two strong independent and powerful personalities whose actions and dialogue were great fun to read. Now don't get me wrong, this book wasn't all fun and games. It has a dark and sinister underbelly that had me struggling, at times, to read the pages between the fingers plastered over my eyes. These vamps aren't your sparkly variety, they most definitely bite! Though not for the faint of heart, these authors did a great job offsetting the more macabre moments with action, romance and humor that provide balance to the story.

On to book two.

I really enjoyed Soul Bonded by L. Ann. This book was written by 2 skilled authors that have a very natural writing style. The book has a great pace to it, but is a little bit slow in the beginning where it focuses mostly on the main characters Morgan and Taz and kind of leaves you guessing what the actual story is about. You are given hints and will look forward to the actual story. Once the authors really dive into the nitty gritty of the plot the pace picks up and it is a really difficult book to put down.

Taz and Morgan make for very interesting characters that the authors develop especially in the first part of the book. The enemy is fierce and very hidden for quite some time. The plot of this book is very unique and different which I find is difficult to do when writing about Vampires, a topic that has been covered in numerous books.

This book could have used some editing since there were a few errors like misused words, missing words and so on. Also some of the paragraphs don't have a nice transition and you are kind of thrown into it. Thankfully it is not difficult to figure out what is going on.

As I said, this book is very enjoyable and different. I will keep an eye out for the next one so I can find out what happens next. And not to worry, this book can be read as a stand alone since it concludes in the end and doesn't leave you with a cliff hanger.

I have received this book from the author for an honest review. (LoP, Lovers of Paranormal)

Bonded in Blood starts with a dark and gruesome prologue that leads into a very exciting story.

This book follows Taz and Morgan as the play cat and mouse with their feelings for each other, whilst trying to solve the mystery of the nasty goings on and fighting enemies determined to get Taz. Unlike some modern vampire portrayals these guys are far from fluffy and lovey. They are strong, independent, powerful and passionate making for an explosive relationship. They develop with the story allowing the reader to see their vulnerabilities and understand them well.

There are many side characters to the story, appearing just enough to let the reader know there is more to them and for them to want to see more.

The plot is original with a number of twists that left me agape and wondering what the heck was coming next. I don't wish to mention spoilers but believe me it's worth the read for the twists, turns and shocks that ensue.

The book has an epilogue that connects with the prologue, tying up loose ends where many books don't. I thought this was a nice touch.

If you want cute and fluffy this book may not be for you but if you want powerful and passionate with strong characters and well described scenes then you will love it. There is humour, friendship, love and a small mishap with a sports car to mix in with the twists and turns of an original vampire story!

I can't wait for book 2!

Well damn, that sucked. :) I forgot I only got a sample and not the whole story. Now I'm gonna go buy it because I'm hooked. This story is awesome. So far I've met Taz I'Ane, and damn he's cocky, and also the Prince of Vampires. His sort of girlfriend, Kayla, who's human & knows nothing about Vampires, & she's a television newsperson. Then there's Morganna, and ooh I like her. Tuff, and takes no prisoners. Just got a touch on Lord Zuron, Taz's father, and King. Hammish, Morganna's father and head of security. Then barely touched on the cops. I can't wait to get my grubby paws on the rest of this story. When I do & finish, I will update my review.

UPDATE: Wow. Like when I read the sample & now the full story, just Wow. This is a gr8 story. It answers all these questions; who is Morgan really? Who is Taz really? Is he a playboy prince, or does he have depth? Do they really care for each other, or is it just lust? What is blood bonding? Is it sexual or not? What are Zuron & Hamish up to, if anything?

So much going on yet this story really makes sense. I love Morgan, & how tough she is. Oh and Taz, playboy prince or not, he's hot & funny. This story has so many twists & turns it keeps you so enraptured. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up. I'm looking forward to the next story.

I liked the idea of the blood bond which felt original and interesting within the vampire fiction genre. The ‘baby’ villains were a fantastically eerie feature and I always enjoy a bit of steam. It’s a hat trick! A great read.

The story begins with the police looking into a series of gruesome murders. But then it gets right into the meat of it.

I think that Morgan and Taz are definitely characters I can root for. And the fact that they seem to be two sides of the same coin. The perfect mixture of sweet and sour together. Taz is deadly fire, and Morgan is vicious Ice. Together they make the perfect assassin couple.
I definitely think the characters feel real and three-dimensional, with distinct voices, flaws, and virtues. Each character has their own insecurities, vulnerabilities, and when they put themselves out there and find themselves on the ass end of a rejection or a perceived rejection, they lash out just as we would. (Or maybe in the more extreme way lol)
I think the relationship between Taz and Morgan is very believable in the sense that they both railed against it, while at the same time being inexplicably drawn to each other. They couldn’t stay away from each other, no matter how much they wanted to (or claimed to want to). It is a stellar supernatural romance. I am in love with the fact that it isn't the fall all over your face, damsel in distress, muscled guy saves girl, same old story every other book is. Nope, this is a one of a kind book. Bonded In Blood is the book readers WANT to read. The main girl shoots her love interest rather than give in, omg I loved that!!

The plot twists in this book are amazing. I LOVED this book. I loved going into this book knowing absolutely NOTHING!! The idea of having children as the big bad was a fantastic idea!! It’s not the same as every other story. Imagine a child (or a hundred of them), a psychotic, animalistic, tiny little serial killer with the basic functions…on the 1 hand, it elicits your emotions and makes you want to spare them, hug them, help them in any way…which, let’s face it, works against you, and on the other hand, they're 50,000 times creepier because they're children and you’re pretty much screwed!! Who’s not going to read that and love it?? You MIGHT have nightmares, but then you have those swoon-worthy scenes with Taz and Morgan to take your mind off of it. So I have to say, if I had to grade this book from 1-5, 5 getting the highest rating, and 1 getting the lowest? 5 stars!! I’ll be waiting in the corner for book two!!

I got to listen to this via Audible at the courtesy of the author in exchange for a review.

I don’t like this narrator. I really want to. I wish I did! But I don’t. He just isn’t a performer. He puts in a good effort, but it’s almost as though he lacks confidence in his ability to differentiate voices, so he doesn’t try very hard.

That wouldn’t be a big deal, necessarily, except that the story is viewed from two different PoVs, and there is a certain amount of fluidity between them. Whereas in other books where you would have a full chapter from one character’s PoV and the next chapter as another’s, both characters can share their PoV within in the same chapter. In text that’s no big deal because there would normally be some kind of break at the switch, but in audio... it can get confusing. It’s not like there are no indications, I mean pronouns are pretty clear, but there is not really any change in the voice of the narration, which makes the two sound the same.

I don’t mind listening to him, he has a nice enough voice, and he tells the story with energy, but in terms of performance is falls flat, and can become distracting.

Okay, now that’s out of the way: I loved the story. It was super creepy (child vampires, hello), and sexy, and generally entertaining. I really liked Taz, he’s an ass, but really, underneath, a good guy. Morgan is a freaking badass, but is closed off... you can see where this going right? I love it! I love characters that compliment each other and draw out one another’s better qualities. Morgan brings out the more tender, less ass-like qualities of Taz, and he forces her to break down some of the walls that keep her from actually living.

The story is complex and intriguing. The relationships between the factions of characters is interesting and really kept me engaged with a measure of originality I enjoyed.

And creepy... and a little gory in places. Ohmygoodness, vampire kids, that are legit crazy. Super creepy. If this were a movie,
I wouldn’t be able to handle it, but as a book I can cope lol

Anyway, I loved the book (I will read it with my own eyes in the near future to pick up what I may have missed), but not so much the narration. I’m looking forward to book two, though!

"This was a mistake."
"No mistake feels this good, Anna. And, if you insist on this being a mistake, it's one I'm happy to keep on making."

This was my first read from these authors and this one has me scrambling for book 2! I am a fan of anything paranormal, but it has to be done right. Not all PRN stories can hold my attention. This one definitely did! I didn't want to put it down!

Taz I'ane is a player. A cocky, disrespectful bastard. He's also in line to inherit the House of Nikaris if he ever decides to follow the rules. Being in charge of the biggest and most powerful House in the Vampire Nation means he'd have to settle down - with a mate. Not happening. Until SHE turns everything upside down.

Morganna "Morgan" Satori is beautiful, petite and deadly. One of top assassins and Necuno - not quite human, yet not quite Vampire. She's been steering clear of Taz ever since their one-nighter in Vegas. Well, she shot him that night, so....

There will be no avoiding him any longer now that they are being teamed up to figure out who is behind a series of gruesome murders, most of which leave their victims shredded and drained of their blood. When a too-convenient video surfaces indicating that these murders are a personal message to Nikaris, Taz and Morganna have no choice but to face this enemy head on.

As a bonded pair, they are stronger. But are they strong enough to come out of this alive? Will this madman and his army of blood-thirsty children destroy them, or will Taz and Morganna end up destroying each other?

This was the perfect blend of horror and hotness. The crime scenes are deliciously grisly and bloody. And Taz and Morganna have so much sensual tension, it emanates off the pages! Their relationship is contentious at best, but the banter is great and the sheet time is steamy! The story kept me on my toes and I wasn't sure if anyone was going to survive!

I'd highly recommend this one! Going to grab book 2 STAT!!

Bonded in Blood is a fast-paced and quick-witted tale about vampires hunting down one of their own who has created a horde of child vampires and are slaughtering people. There's lots of action and romance too, as the two main characters--while having shared a romantic weekend together in Vegas now cannot stand one-another--fall for each other as their fathers push them to work together and to 'bond'.

While I enjoyed the tale in its entirety, the Prologue was probably my favorite part. The characters in it are hardly in the rest of the book until the very end, but they were interesting enough, and their situation was intriguing enough that I feel the writers could revisit them sometime in the future and create a solid spin-off story focusing on them, and I would be eager to read such a story.

If you like vampires, action, romance, and lots of smart-ass jibes, take a look at this one. It's a fun read and has a feel similar to the Underworld movies, but with its own take entirely. Recommended to anyone who's a fan of the genre.

Well, I really enjoyed reading this novel. This was pure entertainment, and it tries to be nothing other than that. The pleasure I derived of reading it was akin to that of watiching an episode of Supernatural, it's all for the fun of it, for the enjoyment. Not a book to make you question the meaning of life, nor one to have you at tears, but a story packed full of interesting events, fast paced and with characters that - thankfuly - are far from perfect. In fact, both the MC's are annoying as hell, insufferable, flawed, and that's what makes them so good. They're not perfect, and it is so refreshing to read less than wonderful characters who happen to have been given a certain amount of responsibility and end up effing the hell up like most of us, but making up for their miscomings. Again, I say, this is not a book filled with depth and meaning, this is entertainment industry at its best. If that's what you're looking for, then jump right in because you'll sure get what you asked for.

Good vampire read!

This book got off to a cracking start! I really enjoyed the characters and the take on vampire society.

My interest waned slightly in the middle, but not for lack of action, I think mainly because I got confused with who was who and why things were happening. But then, that's kind of the point, no one knows.

It's a romance with an action packed detective element! The writing itself is so good that it kept the pages turning. Great banter and dialogue, and of course I love the angst of two characters trying to deny their feelings for each other!

Another amazing story. In this one we meet Morgan and Taz, both heirs of the respective families and houses with matchmaking fathers. Yes, fathers playing matchmaker lol. While we have a bunch of strange murders going on we also have a budding relationship and romance happening much to the delight of the proud fathers. The story is engaging, fast paced and entertaining.
The narrator does a great job. I look forward to more from this writing duo

***3.5***

I listened to the audio-book version of this book. Overall, as a standalone book it was good, enjoyable and fast paced. There are other books in the series but they are different characters and same world. World building is minimal but that is understandable. But there is enough information to understand everything that is going around.

My only gripe was the narrator. I haven't listened to any male only narrators before (more as secondary narrators) so this was a first for me. While he did a good job on emotions I felt him lacking giving a different voice range to the other characters. It was hard for me to make out right away the change in character (Taz to Morgan esp) until couple sentences were spoken. Then there were other character voices as well in the story, but there was barely any voice inflection for that. For me, it took away my concentration sometimes and enjoyment of the story in itself.

I liked Morgan, she was kickass, strong and independent. She's an assassin/mercenary and she does her job well. Taz, on the other hand, is equally stubborn, strong and an heir to his house. They both live separate lives but at the same time they are both connected because of their parents and who they are. They are both flawed, annoying, strong headed and led on a path unbeknownst to them. The whole story revolves around them and actually having to work together on a case and not getting killed in the process.

This is a fun, entertaining and fast paced book.

I discovered L. Ann during a release party. She had a wolf shifter series that sounded great. It was better than great, it was awesome and is now one of my favorite series. Then I discovered that she also had a vampire series and I knew I had to give it a try! I am so GLAD I did!!!

Taz is the Prince and heir to the strongest vampire family. Morgan is a tough as nails assassin. Taz and Morgan together is entertaining, swoon worthy, and hilarious! Taz is the funniest vampire I have read.

“I’m a vampire, sweetheart, not a ninja! Besides, that sneaky-creepy shit is more Hamish’s thing than… than…” ~Taz to Morgan

The two of them together...

“You’re shorter than I remember,” she said, with a provoking smile. “How would you know? You were horizontal most of the time we were together,” ~ Morgan and Taz

These two are used to doing things on their own and are forced to work together on an assignment. I truly didn’t know if they would die during the assignment or at each other’s hand. It was entertaining to say the least.

The story was suspenseful, funny, and sexy. The secondary characters were well written in and added depth and value to the story. The story kept me reading well into the night. I just had to know what happened.

I can’t tell you how much I recommend this book. READ IT NOW!! Actually, read this and read the Midnight Pack stories too while you are at it. They are all amazing!

I haven't read many books with a prologue, this one had one and set the book up nicely that it wasn't going to shy away from the gruesome, being a vampire story you would expect nothing less.

The main characters Taz (no relation to Warner Bros one that ate everything) and Morgana (Morgan) I liked pretty much straight away for their love/hate relationship in and out of the bedroom (Some steamy scenes, be warned). Taz, arrogant, egotistical and generally full of himself, then you have Morgan, she reminded me of Selene from Underworld films in that she took no nonsense and was her own woman. They are forced to work together to solve the gruesome murders that threaten to uncover the centuries hidden vampire world that Kayla (human) thinks she is very close to uncovering.

A book that you can't put down, full of excitement, sex and vampiric action. I would highly recommend it and can't wait to read the next book.

I 100% recommend this book to anyone who loves vampires and assassin's. I absolutely loved this book and can't wait for more!
The writing style of these to authors blended together perfectly creating a wonderful story with a great plot. The use of the prologue and epilogue to introduce what I'm hoping will be a future character that we see more of was, a small bit confusing at first but also brilliant.
I really enjoyed the way chemistry and tension between the main characters Morgan and Taz. there is plenty of side characters as well to help keep things interesting while not taking away to much focus from the main characters.
I Also have to say I love the scheming old men and I hope we eventually get to see more of them and see the reaction to the car lol.

4 1/2 Stars...

Not your typical vampire book. I really enjoyed reading Bonded in Blood. The two main characters Taz and Morgan both quickly drew me in with their snarky banter and obvious attraction to one another. Then there was the whole murder mystery that threatened to out their supernatural world to the humans that has Taz and Morgan working together to uncover the sinister truth of who or what is behind the murders. I was honestly engaged from the very beginning. So why 4 1/2 stars? I did get a little confused on the vampire hierarchy. Maybe I just didn't clue into it or I missed a piece of the puzzle in my read, but that in no way takes away from the overall story line. Bonded in Blood is engaging and unique and is definitely worth checking out.

This book is very nicely written. Yes, it's in British English, as stated in the book's description.

The story flows nicely, and there's plenty of gripping action. The fight scenes are perhaps the best written of all.

Take an heir to a vampire house, a top notch hitman, and throw in some baby vamps on the rampage, and you're left with a bloodthirsty tale (pun totally intended).

Vamps vs vamps. It's not the 'them against the humans', save the world trope, which is refreshing.

Personally, I'd have liked a bit more romance, but that's really my own personal taste. And I did like the relationship building. And the interfering fathers.

Vampire fans; try this for something a little different.

Bonded in Blood could be retitled James Bond meets the vampires. It's a fun, wild ride that doesn't pretend to be anything more than it is - a cracking good adventure story. The authors have created a rich vampire lore to underpin the story and the characters are witty and debonair. The plot is interesting and kept me guessing, and the many twists were consistent with the world created. All in all, Bonded in Blood is a great read.

Once you start reading Bonded in Blood you will get hooked on it. The storyline had twist and turns in it and keeps you wanting more.

The relationship between Morgan and Taz are undeniably electrifying. The ying and the yang. There is suspense, romance excitment, edge if your seat drama. Grab it you wont regret it.
I highly recommend this book.
